European Alternatives to ActiveCampaign
Looking for a European alternative to ActiveCampaign? ActiveCampaign, LLC is a Chicago company, its terms are governed by Illinois law with disputes sent to binding individual JAMS arbitration in Cook County, and its data processing addendum relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Eleven European tools cover automation workflows, a built-in CRM and lead scoring for small teams, from marketing automation suites in Germany, Poland and Portugal to CRMs with email automation in Belgium and Estonia, from companies in France, Poland, Ireland, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Estonia, Lithuania and the Czech Republic.
How we rank these tools — 4-step process
-
1
European ownership, verified
The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.
-
2
Category fit and hands-on review
What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.
-
3
Compliance and pricing check
GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.
-
4
Position on this page
Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

Key takeaways
- ActiveCampaign, LLC is a Chicago company whose terms are governed by Illinois law with individual JAMS arbitration, and whose DPA relies on the Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
- Brevo (Paris) and GetResponse (Gdansk) are the broadest all-round replacements: workflows, CRM-style contact profiles, and, for GetResponse, lead scoring described on its own page.
- Quentn (Potsdam) is the closest in shape for a small team: marketing automation and a CRM with sales pipelines, with euro prices published from €39 a month.
- Salesflare (Antwerp) and Pipedrive (Tallinn) are CRMs first: use them if the sales pipeline is the job and email follows from it.
- MailerLite, E-goi and Sender have free plans, and MailerLite lets EEA customers contract with a Dublin entity.
- SALESmanago (now Manago AI), Systeme.io and Ecomail fit narrower cases: a customer data platform for retail, funnels and courses, or a Czech-language shop tool.
Why people leave ActiveCampaign
ActiveCampaign is where many small teams go when a newsletter tool stops being enough.
It combines email with automation workflows, a built-in CRM with deals, and contact scoring, so a lead who opens three emails and visits a pricing page can be tagged, scored and handed to a salesperson without anyone copying anything. It offers a 14-day trial with no credit card and four plans (Starter, Plus, Pro, Enterprise), and the pricing page lets you pick USD, EUR, GBP and other currencies.
The contract is with ActiveCampaign, LLC in Chicago. Its terms are governed by Illinois law, with courts in Cook County, and send most disputes to confidential binding arbitration with JAMS, brought individually rather than as a class action. Its data processing addendum names ActiveCampaign, LLC as the processor and relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses for transfers. The addendum does not mention an EU data centre.
This page is about the automation and CRM combination for small teams. It does not repeat the general email-marketing comparison or the shop-focused tools covered on the Mailchimp, Klaviyo and HubSpot pages. Eleven European products qualify, but they are not copies of each other: some are marketing automation suites with a CRM, some are CRMs with email automation attached, and some are email tools with workflow features.
- Your contract and your disputes run through Illinois ActiveCampaign's terms are governed by Illinois law. Anything that is not small claims goes to individual arbitration with JAMS in Cook County, with a waiver of class actions. If you want a contracting party in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a court in your own region and no arbitration clause, the eleven tools below offer that, though Pipedrive uses arbitration in Tallinn and MailerLite switches entity by billing country.
- Transfers rely on a framework, not on location The ActiveCampaign data processing addendum relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. That is a lawful basis, not a data location. If your customer list is the asset and you want it contracted and processed under a European entity, each tool here names one: Brevo in Paris, GetResponse in Gdansk, E-goi in Matosinhos, and so on.
- The price is not visible until you configure it The text of ActiveCampaign's pricing page does not show amounts, only plan names and a "customize your plan" flow by contact count. Several European tools publish figures: Quentn lists Lite at €39, Basic at €79 and Pro at €119 a month, E-goi starts at €8.92 a month, and Salesflare charges €29, €49 or €99 per user a month on annual billing. Others, such as Brevo and GetResponse, still need a look at the plan selector.
- You may only need part of the stack ActiveCampaign bundles automation, CRM, scoring and messaging. A small team often uses a slice: a welcome sequence, a tag when someone replies, a deal stage. The European options split along those lines, from Salesflare and Pipedrive for pipelines to MailerLite and Sender for email-first automation, so the right move can be a smaller tool, not an equal one.
What you have to replace, not just match
Export what you actually use before you compare. List your automations and what triggers them, your tags and custom fields, your deal stages, and any lead score rules. Most of these tools can import contacts and tags from a CSV, but few can import ActiveCampaign automations, so budget time to rebuild the workflows that bring in money first.
Plan the cut-over around consent. Move your suppression and unsubscribe lists first, set up your sending domain authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) in the new tool, warm up if your volume is large, and keep ActiveCampaign running read-only until the new automations have triggered for real contacts and you have compared a week of results.

For customers in the EU and the EEA, its terms (version of 16 September 2026) name Pipedrive OÜ at Mustamae tee 3a, Tallinn, under Estonian law, with arbitration seated in Harju County. The same terms list Pipedrive Inc. and other affiliates for other regions.
Its site describes pipelines, automation, an AI assistant and a Campaigns add-on for email marketing, with a 14-day trial and no credit card. We could not read the pricing page (HTTP 403), so no amount is quoted.
What Pipedrive does better than ActiveCampaign

What Ecomail does better than ActiveCampaign

- A customer data layer next to email
Where Ecomail is a step down from ActiveCampaign

Standout against ActiveCampaign. It pairs email automation with a customer data layer in Czech.
What actually breaks when you switch
Automations do not import. Plan to rebuild each workflow by hand, starting with the ones tied to revenue, and test them with a few real contacts before you switch the rest of the list over. Tags and custom fields come across as CSV columns, but the logic that uses them does not.
CRM depth varies a lot. ActiveCampaign bundles deals, scoring and email on one plan. In Europe that is often two choices: a pipeline CRM such as Salesflare or Pipedrive, or an automation suite such as Quentn, Brevo or GetResponse. If you use both halves heavily, check that one tool covers each before you cancel.
Several of the tools publish dollar prices, geo-dependent prices or none at all. Ask for a quote for your list size, and write down the renewal price and the limit that triggers the next tier before you commit.
Which European tool is closest to ActiveCampaign?
For a small team that wants automation and a CRM in one login, Quentn is the nearest by design: its pricing page lists marketing automation and a CRM with sales pipelines, with prices in euros. Brevo and GetResponse come close from the email side, with CRM-style contact profiles and workflows.
None of them is a clone, and the finer points, such as the exact number of automation triggers, differ. Test your most complicated workflow in a trial before you commit.
Do any of these have lead scoring?
GetResponse describes lead scoring on its own page: points are added for each action a contact takes on pages or emails. Salesflare lists AI-based lead scoring on its site, and SALESmanago (Manago AI) lists lead and customer scoring in customer profiles.
We could not confirm lead scoring for every tool in the list, so if scoring is the reason you use ActiveCampaign, check that exact feature on the plan you would buy.
Is there a free option with real automation?
Several. MailerLite lists a free plan with up to 250 subscribers, 2 users and 2,500 emails a month, and says automations are included. Sender is free up to 2,500 subscribers and 15,000 emails a month, E-goi has a free 5001 Plan, and Systeme.io's free plan does not expire and covers up to 2,000 contacts.
Free plans have limits that matter for automation: the number of workflows, the triggers, and support. Read those before you rely on one.
I mostly use ActiveCampaign as a CRM. Should I choose a CRM instead?
If the deal pipeline is the core, start with Salesflare or Pipedrive. Salesflare is built for small B2B teams and logs emails and meetings on its own, with email workflows on its Pro plan. Pipedrive is a sales CRM with a separate Campaigns add-on for email.
Both cost less in features than ActiveCampaign's email side, so check that the sequences and segments you send today still fit.
Which one to pick
If you want the nearest thing to ActiveCampaign for a small team, with automation and a CRM in one product and prices in euros, look at Quentn first, then Brevo and GetResponse. Brevo suits a team that also sends transactional mail, and GetResponse is the one that describes lead scoring and a workflow builder on a single page.
If the sales pipeline is what you really use, pick Salesflare or Pipedrive and let email follow. If you mostly send sequences and want a free start, MailerLite, Sender and E-goi all have free plans, and Systeme.io fits if you sell through funnels or courses.
SALESmanago (Manago AI) and Ecomail fit narrower cases: a customer data platform for a larger commerce team with no public prices, and a Czech-language tool for a local market.
Be realistic about the gap. We could not verify every plan limit or count ActiveCampaign's automation triggers against these tools, none of the eleven imports ActiveCampaign workflows, and the incumbent may still win on depth. Switch if you want a European or EEA contracting party and a court at home, and test your most complex workflow in a trial before you cancel.
Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on what you use. Quentn is closest in design for a small team that wants automation and a CRM together, Brevo and GetResponse are the broadest email-led platforms, and Salesflare is the pick when the sales pipeline matters most. None replicates ActiveCampaign feature for feature, so test your key workflow in a trial first.
No. The contracting entity is ActiveCampaign, LLC, and its terms name an address at 1 North Dearborn Street in Chicago. The terms are governed by Illinois law, with courts in Cook County and binding individual arbitration with JAMS for most disputes.
Its data processing addendum names ActiveCampaign, LLC as processor and relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, with UK and Swiss extensions, and on standard contractual clauses. The addendum does not state a hosting location, and we did not find an EU-hosting option on the pages we could read.
It offers a 14-day trial with no credit card and four plans: Starter, Plus, Pro and Enterprise. The text of its pricing page does not show amounts, only a plan selector by contact count, so check the figure for your list size there. The currency can be set to euros.
Quentn lists Lite at €39, Basic at €79 and Pro at €119 a month on monthly billing, with 20 percent off for annual billing. Salesflare lists Growth at 29, Pro at 49 and Enterprise at 99 per user a month on annual billing, with a 30-day trial and a five-user minimum on Enterprise. E-goi lists Base from €8.92 a month with 500 contacts and Pro from €33.79 with 2,500 contacts, plus a free 5001 Plan.
For customers in the EU and the EEA, the contracting entity in its terms is Pipedrive OÜ in Tallinn, Estonia, under Estonian law, with arbitration in Harju County. The same terms list Pipedrive Inc. and other affiliates for other regions, and disputes go to arbitration, not to a court. We did not check the ownership structure.
For customers in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the terms name MailerLite Limited at 88 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2. Everyone else contracts with MailerLite, Inc. in San Francisco, a Delaware corporation. Which one applies depends on your billing address, so check that before you sign up.
The product was rebranded: salesmanago.com now redirects to manago.ai. The terms there name Benhauer sp. z o.o. in Krakow as the company, under Polish law, and they cover free accounts only. Paid packages are governed by a separate agreement, so ask for it before you buy.
In general no. You can export contacts, tags and fields as a CSV and import them elsewhere, but workflows must be rebuilt by hand. We did not find an automation importer on any of the eleven tools, so plan to rebuild.
Systeme.io is built for that: its pricing page lists funnels, a blog, a course and an affiliate programme even on the free plan, run by ITACWT Limited in Dublin under Irish law. It is a different shape from ActiveCampaign, so use it if the funnel is the business, not if the CRM is.
