Most tools in this category are European in the sense that the company is. DentroChat is European in the sense that the whole chain is. Its published subprocessor list runs to fourteen entries across Germany, France, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden and Ireland, and there is not a single American name on it, which for a product that has to do inference somewhere is harder than it sounds.

That is the point of the thing. Hosting, inference, the language models, image generation, transactional mail and payments each sit with a named European company, and the list is public, so you can check it yourself rather than take it on trust. Which providers appear on it shifts as the product develops; that none of them is American is the part that does not.

The product itself is a competent general assistant: three answer modes, image generation, web search, file and PDF analysis, voice input, memory across conversations and a workspace that produces documents and spreadsheets. It is not doing anything the American assistants cannot; it is doing it without them.

The subprocessor list is the product

Publishing a subprocessor list is a GDPR obligation. Publishing one on which every entry is European is a positioning statement, and it is the reason to look at DentroChat rather than at a larger competitor. For a European organisation under procurement pressure, being able to hand over that page is worth more than a marginal difference in answer quality.

It also explains the shape of the company. Dentro does not train models; it assembles a chain of European providers and puts a single interface on top. That is a real architectural choice with a real cost, covered below.

What you actually get

Three modes cover the usual spread: Fast for quick answers, Thinking for problems that need working through, Creative for drafting. Around that sit image generation, web search, uploads of files and PDFs with analysis, voice input, and a memory that carries context between conversations. Conversations can also be set to delete automatically, a setting the vendor points to for privacy-conscious users.

The workspace is the part that goes beyond chat, generating PDFs, presentations and spreadsheets from a conversation. Sharing works through links, which is enough for small-team collaboration but is not a full multi-user product with roles and audit trails.

Who is behind it

DentroInnovation OÜ is registered in Tallinn, Estonia, under registration number 16799548, and run by its two founders, Paul Petritsch and Paul Plessing. It is a small company, and that cuts both ways: the European-only chain is a deliberate design rather than a marketing retrofit, but there is far less scale behind it than behind Mistral or Proton.

Limitations to Consider

Dentro trains no models of its own, so what it can do is bounded by the European providers it routes to, and a change on their side is a change to the product. The company is small, which is a real procurement consideration for anything mission-critical.

There is no self-hosting, no open-source code to inspect, and no mobile app: the product is a web app. The free tier is fifteen messages, which is a demo rather than a usable tier.

Who Should Use DentroChat

European teams and individuals for whom the subprocessor chain is the deciding factor and who would rather accept a small vendor than an American one. If you need an audited enterprise vendor, a model built in-house or an open-source stack you can verify line by line, look at Le Chat or Lumo instead.
