European Alternatives to Constant Contact
Looking for a European alternative to Constant Contact? Constant Contact, Inc. is a Waltham, Massachusetts company, its terms are governed by Massachusetts law, and disputes go to individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association with a class-action waiver.
Eleven European tools cover small-business email marketing, from newsletter-first tools in Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany to fuller platforms in France, Poland, Estonia and the Czech Republic, all contracting with an entity in the EU or EEA.
How we rank these tools — 4-step process
-
1
European ownership, verified
The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.
-
2
Category fit and hands-on review
What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.
-
3
Compliance and pricing check
GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.
-
4
Position on this page
Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

Why people leave Constant Contact
Constant Contact is the email marketing tool many small businesses, clubs and local shops end up with, because it sells everything a one-person marketing team needs in one subscription: email, SMS, social posting, an online store connection and an Event Marketing product for sign-ups.
Its pricing page shows a 14-day free trial and three plans, Lite, Standard and Premium, listed on 7 October 2026 as starting at $10.20, $29.75 and $68 a month when billed annually, with the final price set by your number of contacts and emails sent.
It is run by Constant Contact, Inc. of Waltham, Massachusetts. Its terms, last updated on 4 September 2026, are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and send disputes to binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under the Federal Arbitration Act. They add a jury waiver and a ban on class and representative claims, and "we" is defined to include the company, its parents, subsidiaries and affiliates.
This page is for the small-business end of the market: a bakery with a newsletter, a club with a member list, a charity running an event. It does not repeat the Mailchimp, Klaviyo or SendGrid pages. Eleven European tools qualify, and they are not copies of each other: some are built for a simple newsletter, a few add landing pages and booking, and one is made for online shops.
- Your contract is with a Massachusetts company, on its terms The terms choose Massachusetts law and arbitration at the AAA, with an individual-only rule. Consumers get the AAA consumer rules and may ask for the hearing near the city in their account record, and small-claims court stays open, but a business customer in Europe is still bound to a forum an ocean away. Every tool below contracts through an entity in the EU, the EEA or the UK, under the law of that country.
- The price moves with your list and your sending Constant Contact says its plan price depends on the number of contacts and email sends, and that overage fees may apply. That is a normal model, but it makes the headline figure a starting point. Several European tools here publish a fixed list: Flexmail shows EUR 17 a month for 1,000 contacts, GetResponse shows unlimited sends from EUR 16, and Ecomail lists Czech koruna prices with unlimited sends.
- One group now owns another former rival The Greek email platform Moosend states on its own site that it is now a Constant Contact company. If you were weighing Moosend as the European way out, it no longer is one. That is why the eleven below are all independent of Constant Contact as far as their own contract pages show.
- A free plan for a real small list exists in Europe Six of the eleven publish a permanent free plan: Brevo, MailerLite, Sender, Laposta, Smaily and CleverReach. The limits differ a lot, from 250 subscribers at MailerLite to 2,500 at Sender, so check yours first. Constant Contact offers a 14-day trial instead.
What you have to replace, not just match
List what you actually use before you compare prices. For most small businesses that is a newsletter, a signup form, a few welcome emails and a monthly send. Constant Contact also sells SMS, social posting, e-commerce and an events product, and those are the parts a European tool may not match one for one.
Export your contacts with their consent status and unsubscribes, set up SPF and DKIM for your sending domain on the new tool, and start with your most engaged readers so that your reputation builds on good signals. Keep the old account until the first campaigns have landed in inboxes.

What actually breaks when you switch
Your sending reputation does not travel. A new tool starts you on shared infrastructure, so move SPF and DKIM first and send to your most engaged readers before the full list. Plan a small dip in opens for the first few sends.
Check what each plan counts. Some tools bill by contacts, some by emails sent, and several publish a different price for monthly and annual billing, so write down the price at your own list size, not the entry price.
Events are the part to test. This page did not verify an event registration product at any of the eleven, so if you sell tickets or manage RSVPs through Constant Contact, trial a signup form and a landing page on a real event first.
Is there a European tool with the same range as Constant Contact?
Not in a single product at every price point. Constant Contact bundles email, SMS, social posting, e-commerce and events. Brevo comes closest on channels, with email, SMS and WhatsApp in one account, and GetResponse and MailerLite add landing pages, automation and, at MailerLite, appointment booking.
None of the eleven was checked for a built-in event registration product. If you rely on Constant Contact for event sign-ups, test the new tool's forms and landing pages on a real event before you cancel.
Which of these are best for a very small list?
Sender allows 2,500 subscribers and 15,000 emails a month on its free plan, Laposta 2,000 contacts and 12,000 emails with an ad line under each message, Smaily 2,000 contacts, and Brevo advertises a free plan without a card. MailerLite is the tightest at 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails, and CleverReach allows 250 recipients and 1,000 emails.
Free plans have limits that matter: Laposta adds its own advertising below every email, and several cap features such as sending through an API. Read the plan page before you promise a launch date.
What about price once the list grows?
Compare on your own numbers. Flexmail shows EUR 17 a month for 1,000 contacts (EUR 15 on annual billing) with unlimited mailing, GetResponse EUR 16 a month for Starter with unlimited sends, and Ecomail 150 to 250 CZK for its Profi plan depending on billing. Constant Contact scales by contacts and sends with overage fees possible.
Where a price could not be read from the vendor's own page, this page gives none. Ask for a quote at your list size rather than extrapolating from the entry plan.
Do I need a European contract for a small newsletter?
It is a choice, not a legal requirement. Constant Contact publishes a GDPR addendum for residents of the EEA and the UK, which this page did not read. What the terms do set is Massachusetts law and AAA arbitration.
If you want a contracting party in your own legal area, with a court close to home and a data processing agreement you can discuss in your own language, the tools here offer that. If you do not, the practical difference is smaller than the sales pages suggest.
Which one to pick
If you want the nearest all-round replacement, with email, SMS and WhatsApp and a free plan, Brevo is the one. If you mainly send a newsletter and want a clean editor and landing pages, MailerLite is simpler, and Sender gives the largest free list at 2,500 subscribers and 15,000 emails a month.
GetResponse suits a business that wants unlimited sends, landing pages and automation, and Flexmail and Ecomail suit buyers who want to read a price list in their own language. Laposta, Smaily and CleverReach are the local choices for the Netherlands, Estonia and Germany, and rapidmail is the plainest. Omnisend is the pick only if you have an online shop.
Be realistic about the gap. Constant Contact sells SMS, social posting and an events product in one subscription, and none of the eleven was verified to match all of that. Switch if you want a European contracting party and a court in your own region, and keep Constant Contact if events and social posting are why you pay for it.
