Where CleverReach and Rapidmail differ

Across the five points below, CleverReach has the edge on 2 points, Rapidmail on 2 points and one is a tie. A count like that is a summary, not a verdict: the point that matters to you may be the one the other product wins.

Published pricing and free start

CleverReach's pricing page shows Lite at EUR 0 (250 recipients, 1,000 emails a month, no time limit), Basic at EUR 15 and Pro at EUR 18 a month for 500 recipients, and Enterprise at EUR 499 a month. Rapidmail's pricing page loads its figures with scripts, so no price is visible without a browser. On what can be read, CleverReach is the more open.

Edge: CleverReach

Automation and testing

CleverReach lists unlimited email automation and A/B testing on Pro, one automation workflow on the free Lite plan, and paid design and spam tests (EUR 5 each) and accessibility tests (EUR 3 each). Rapidmail's pages name email automation and transactional SMTP mail but give no plan-level limits or test services, so the comparison stops at CleverReach's more detailed list.

Edge: CleverReach

Templates and editing

Rapidmail's site states more than 250 free newsletter templates and the in-house editor is the product's centrepiece. CleverReach offers a drag-and-drop editor, free email templates, your own HTML templates and landing pages, but the pages read for this comparison give no template count. Rapidmail is the one with a stated number to weigh.

Edge: Rapidmail

Hosting and legal entity

CleverReach states that all data sits in data centres exclusively in the European region and names CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG (Rastede, HRA 4020 Oldenburg). Rapidmail's privacy policy says its servers are in Germany with no third-country transfer, and its legal notice names Positive Group Deutschland GmbH in Freiburg, a company in the French Positive group. Both stay in EU law.

No clear winner on this point.

Who may buy

CleverReach states that every offer is aimed exclusively at entrepreneurs under section 14 of the German Civil Code (BGB), so consumer protection rules do not apply to it. Rapidmail's pages carry no such restriction, so a private person, a club member or a hobby project runs into fewer questions there.
