European Alternatives to Apollo.io
Looking for a European alternative to Apollo.io? Apollo is run by ZenLeads Inc. in California, its terms are governed by California law with binding arbitration and a class-action waiver, and its own DPA says the service is hosted with US-based data center providers.
Eleven European tools cover the job: four outreach platforms with their own lead data, one LinkedIn automation tool, one CRM with lead search, and five contact-data or enrichment providers, from companies in France, Belgium, Poland, the United Kingdom and Finland.
How we rank these tools — 4-step process
-
1
European ownership, verified
The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.
-
2
Category fit and hands-on review
What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.
-
3
Compliance and pricing check
GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.
-
4
Position on this page
Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

Key takeaways
- ZenLeads Inc. (Apollo.io) contracts under California law with San Francisco County courts and binding arbitration, and its DPA says the service is hosted with US-based data center providers. It is certified under the Data Privacy Framework and offers Standard Contractual Clauses under Irish law.
- lemlist (Paris) is the closest in shape: a 650M+ lead database, email and phone finder, sequences across email, LinkedIn, calls, SMS and WhatsApp, a unified inbox, and a 14-day free trial without a card.
- La Growth Machine (Saint-Mande) and Overloop (Brussels) are the other two outreach platforms with their own lead data, each with a free trial of 14 and 7 days.
- Kaspr has a free plan with 15 B2B email credits a month, and Datagma gives 3 phone numbers or 100 emails a month free. Both only find data, they do not send.
- Salesflare (Antwerp) is the one to look at if the CRM is the centre of your work: Growth is €29 a month per user on annual billing, with lead search credits and email campaigns.
- Cognism and Vainu are data-first and sold through demos, and none of the eleven matches Apollo's combination of database, sequencer, dialer and pipeline under one subscription.
Why people leave Apollo.io
Apollo.io is the sales platform that puts prospecting and outreach into one account.
You search a database of contacts and companies (its site says 240M contacts and 30M companies), pull in emails and phone numbers with credits, run email sequences, call from a dialer and track deals, all without switching tools.
A free plan with no time limit lets one person try it, and paid plans (Basic, Professional and a Custom tier) add sequencing depth, AI features and call recording. Its pricing page does not show amounts in plain text, so none are quoted here.
The company behind it is ZenLeads Inc., trading as Apollo.io. Its terms of service, last updated on 10 August 2026, are governed by the law of the State of California.
Disputes that are not sent to arbitration go to the courts of San Francisco County, and section 7 sets binding arbitration with a class-action waiver. Its data processing addendum says Apollo hosts its service with outsourced, US-based data center providers, and the privacy policy says it sells personal information from its Contributor Database to customers for sales, marketing and recruiting.
To be fair to Apollo, it does address the EU side. It is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its DPA includes Standard Contractual Clauses that choose Irish law, Irish courts and the Irish Data Protection Commission.
This page is for people who want more than that: a contracting party, courts and hosting inside Europe, or simply a smaller stack built from European parts. Eleven European tools qualify, and they do not all replace Apollo whole. Some match its outreach engine, some only its contact data, and one is a CRM.
- The commercial contract is Californian Your agreement is with ZenLeads Inc. under California law, with San Francisco County courts and binding arbitration for most disputes, plus a waiver of class actions. For a business that wants to settle a dispute under European law in a European court, the terms offer no route. The French, Belgian, Polish and Finnish companies on this page contract under their own national law, and most of their terms name the courts of Paris or Antwerp.
- The product runs on US infrastructure Apollo's DPA says its service is hosted with outsourced, US-based data center providers, and it relies on the Data Privacy Framework with Standard Contractual Clauses as a fallback. That is a lawful transfer route today, but it depends on a framework that has been challenged before. Several tools here are built differently: Datagma says in its terms that data is extracted in real time without storage.
- You send to people who did not choose Apollo Apollo's privacy policy says it sells personal information from its Contributor Database to customers, and that it relies on legitimate interests for it. When you email someone from that database you become responsible for your own outreach under the GDPR, including a lawful basis and an easy way to object. That is true of every contact database and of most tools here, but it is a reason to read how each vendor sources its data and handles opt-outs before you buy credits.
- The all-in-one price is credits that expire Apollo prices by credits for emails, phone numbers and AI research, and its pricing page says unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and do not roll over, including purchased add-ons. If your prospecting is bursty, the monthly reset can waste money. Several European tools split data and outreach into separate lines, which is fiddlier but lets you pay for each part when you use it.
What you have to replace, not just match
Start by listing what you use Apollo for, because it does five jobs: finding contacts, verifying emails, sending sequences, calling, and keeping a pipeline. Most teams use two or three of them. If you mostly send sequences, the outreach platforms (lemlist, La Growth Machine, Overloop, Woodpecker) come with a lead finder of their own. If you mostly pull contact data into a CRM, look at Kaspr, Cognism, Datagma, Dropcontact or Vainu and keep your existing sending tool.
Before you cancel, export your lists, sequences and contact history, and note your sending domains and warm-up status. Run the new tool alongside Apollo for a few weeks on a small segment so your sender reputation is not disturbed by a sudden volume change, and check that your CRM sync works in both directions before you move the whole team.

How each alternative compares to Apollo.io
- Which law reaches it. eu-eea. Apollo.io is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
Best for: Outbound teams that want lead data, sequences across channels and a dialer in one product
lemlist is run by LEMPIRE SAS, 128 rue La Boetie in Paris (RCS 823 475 082). Its terms of 17 September 2025 are under French law, with the Paris courts as the exclusive venue, and its legal notice names OVH in Roubaix for server hosting.
Its pricing page lists an Email plan with unlimited users, a 650M+ lead database, an email and phone number finder, its own AI agents for signals and enrichment and a deliverability hub, a Multichannel plan that adds LinkedIn, SMS and WhatsApp automation and a built-in dialer, and an Enterprise tier. A 14-day trial needs no credit card.
Amounts are shown by currency on the page and could not be confirmed as fixed, so no figure is quoted here. Data credits are sold as an add-on.
What lemlist does better than Apollo.io
- French company under French law, where Apollo contracts under California law
- Database, finders, sequences, dialer and unified inbox in one product
- 14-day trial with no credit card
- Supports invoicing by SEPA or wire transfer and an interface in English, French, German and Spanish
Where lemlist is a step down from Apollo.io
- No amounts could be verified because prices are shown by currency
- A 650M+ database is its own claim and a smaller product than Apollo overall
- Lead data is bought as add-on credits on top of the plan
- No built-in deal pipeline comparable to a CRM
Standout against Apollo.io. It is the only tool here that puts lead data, email, LinkedIn, SMS, WhatsApp and calling in one subscription.
- Which law reaches it. eu-eea. Apollo.io is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
Best for: Founders and small teams that prospect mainly on LinkedIn and want enrichment included
La Growth Machine is operated by B3, a French simplified joint-stock company in Saint-Mande, registered at the Creteil register under 878 662 758. The terms are under French law with the Paris courts as the exclusive venue.
Its pricing page lists Basic at €60 a month per identity, with LinkedIn and email, 250 enriched leads a month, up to three identities, waterfall email enrichment across nine providers and two verification tools, and a company database of 27M+. A 14-day trial is offered. The page has tabs for the billing period, and which one the €60 refers to is not stated in text.
Pricing is per identity, meaning per sender, which suits one person well and gets costly if you want many senders.
What La Growth Machine does better than Apollo.io
- French company under French law
- Waterfall enrichment across nine email providers built in
- Price shown in euros on the page, with a 14-day trial
- Lead enrichment and sequences in one subscription
Where La Growth Machine is a step down from Apollo.io
- A 27M+ company database is much smaller than Apollo's stated data
- Pricing per identity grows with the number of senders
- 250 enriched leads a month on Basic is a tight cap
- No deal pipeline on the plan described
Standout against Apollo.io. Its Basic plan includes waterfall email enrichment across nine email providers and two verification tools.
- Which law reaches it. eu-eea. Apollo.io is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
Best for: Small sales teams that want prospect data and email plus social campaigns in one tool
Overloop is run by Overloop SRL in Brussels (Rue des Peres Blancs 4, VAT 0645.917.753). Its terms are governed by Belgian law, and the terms we found do not name a court.
Its pricing page lists Starter and Growth plans per user and an Enterprise tier, a 450M+ prospect database, verified email addresses, smart campaigns across email and social, AI follow-ups, privacy and DPA documentation, and a 7-day free trial. The amounts on the page are in dollars, so none is quoted here.
Plans are capped by credits (250, 500 or 1,000 a month per user), connected email accounts and active campaigns, so check the limits against your volume.
What Overloop does better than Apollo.io
- Belgian company under Belgian law
- Prospect database, verified emails and outreach in one product
- Privacy and DPA documentation listed on every plan
- Plans per user with a free trial
Where Overloop is a step down from Apollo.io
- Only a 7-day trial, the shortest here
- Pricing shown in dollars, not euros
- No forum named in the terms we found
- Entry plan limits you to one connected mailbox and three campaigns
Standout against Apollo.io. It lists privacy and DPA documentation as a feature on every plan, including the cheapest.
Kaspr
contact data on LinkedIn with a permanent free plan
Best for: Recruiters and sellers who find prospects on LinkedIn and need phone numbers and emails
Kaspr is operated by KASPR SAS in Paris, registered at the Paris register under 843 898 396. Its terms (July 2023 version) are under French law, and only the Paris courts have jurisdiction after a 15-day amicable step.
Its pricing page lists a Free plan with 15 B2B email credits, 5 phone credits and 5 direct email credits a month, and a Starter plan at €45 or €59 per user a month depending on the billing period, with unlimited B2B email credits, 100 phone credits and 5 direct email credits (listed as 1,200 and 60 a year), and export of up to 12,000 enriched leads a year. Higher plans raise the phone credits.
It finds contact data through a Chrome extension on LinkedIn and Sales Navigator and exports to CRMs. The plans on its page are about data and exports, not about email sequences.
What Kaspr does better than Apollo.io
- A free plan, though a small one next to Apollo's
- French company under French law with Paris courts
- Prices published in euros, pounds and dollars
- Works directly on LinkedIn and Sales Navigator
Where Kaspr is a step down from Apollo.io
- No email sequencing or dialer on the plans described
- Phone credits are limited on the lower plans
- The terms we found date from July 2023
- Data only, so you need a separate sending tool
Standout against Apollo.io. It gives unlimited B2B email credits on paid plans, with phone numbers metered separately.
- Which law reaches it. eu-eea. Apollo.io is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
Best for: Freelancers and small agencies that prospect mainly on LinkedIn
Waalaxy is published by SAS Waapi in Montpellier (RCS Montpellier 841 124 001). The terms are governed exclusively by French law, and its legal notice says the website is hosted by OVH.
Its pricing page lists Pro at €19 with 300 invites a month, Advanced at €49 with 800 invites, API access and Make, Zapier and n8n modules, and Business at €69 with cold email sequences, multichannel campaigns (LinkedIn plus email) and 500 email finder credits, all per user a month with a 14-day free trial. Which billing period the default figures show is not stated in text.
It is built around LinkedIn actions, so it suits a prospecting method where LinkedIn is the main channel.
What Waalaxy does better than Apollo.io
- Lowest paid entry price quoted on this page, at €19 per user a month
- French company under French law, hosted by OVH
- 14-day trial on every plan
- Email finder credits and cold email available on Business
Where Waalaxy is a step down from Apollo.io
- LinkedIn automation depends on LinkedIn tolerating it
- No browsable contact database on the plans described, only email finder credits
- Email sequences only from the €69 plan
- No dialer or pipeline
Standout against Apollo.io. Its three plans are priced in euros on one page, starting at €19 per user a month.
- Which law reaches it. eu-eea. Apollo.io is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
Best for: Teams and agencies that run cold email at volume and want to pay by contacted prospect
Woodpecker is run by Woodpecker.co S.A. in Wroclaw (KRS 0000896179, NIP PL 8992769178). The terms are governed by Polish law, and they say mandatory consumer law of the customer's residence prevails where it applies.
Its pricing page prices by the number of contacted prospects a month and lets you pick the currency. It says team members and connected email accounts cost nothing extra, and warm-up and email verification are free. A Lead Finder uses credits for company and contact searches, and LinkedIn outreach is a paid add-on at a per-account price. A 14-day trial is offered.
Because pricing follows contacted prospects and currency, no amount is quoted here.
What Woodpecker does better than Apollo.io
- Unlimited team members and mailboxes at no extra cost, where Apollo prices by seat and credits
- Free warm-up and email verification
- Polish company under Polish law
- Lead Finder in the same account as sending
Where Woodpecker is a step down from Apollo.io
- Email-first, with LinkedIn only as an add-on
- Lead Finder credits are metered per action and can be used up quickly
- No built-in dialer or pipeline
- Amounts are not given in a form we could verify
Standout against Apollo.io. It charges by contacted prospects instead of by seat, with unlimited team members and mailboxes.
- Which law reaches it. EU (Belgium). Apollo.io is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
- Where the data sits. Belgium (St. Ghislain), on Google Cloud.
- Source code. Closed source, as Apollo.io is.
Best for: Small B2B teams that want one CRM with prospecting and mass email, not a separate sequencer
Salesflare is provided by Salesflare BVBA, Rijnkaai 37 box 4 in Antwerp. Its agreement is governed by Belgian law, and the courts of Antwerp have exclusive jurisdiction.
Its pricing page lists Growth at €39 a month per user (€29 on annual billing) with automatic data capture from email, a LinkedIn and email sidebar, mobile apps, email tracking, personalised email campaigns and 5 lead credits a month. Pro is €64 a month per user (€49 on annual billing) and adds multi-step email workflows, user permissions, custom dashboards and 100 lead credits. Extra lead credits are sold in blocks.
It is a CRM first, with lead search as an extra, so it is not a database product like Apollo.
What Salesflare does better than Apollo.io
- Belgian company under Belgian law, with a named local court
- Prices shown in euros, with monthly and annual figures side by side
- CRM, email tracking and campaigns in one product
- Fills in contacts automatically from email and signatures
Where Salesflare is a step down from Apollo.io
- Only 5 lead credits on Growth and 100 on Pro, far below Apollo's data access
- Multi-step sequences only from the Pro plan
- No LinkedIn automation or dialer in the plans described
- The terms name Salesflare BVBA, an older Belgian company form, which we could not check against the register
Standout against Apollo.io. It builds the CRM record for you from your email and calendar, so there is little data entry.
Cognism
data-first, with mobile numbers and signals, sold on request
Best for: Larger sales teams that care most about decision-maker phone numbers and Europe-focused data
Cognism Limited is registered in England and Wales (company number 9392705) with its registered office c/o Worldwide Corporate Advisors in London. Its privacy policy names Cognism d.o.o. in Zadar, Croatia as a joint controller, and its website terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The customer contract is not public, so ask which entity signs it.
Its pricing page describes Standard and Pro prospecting plans with five seats included, credits per revealed contact, MCP and API access, filters on firmographics, technographics and signals (hiring, funding, M&A, job changes and intent), and a CRM Enrichment add-on. Pro adds a premium mobile filter and on-demand mobile verification. No amounts are shown.
It is a data product, not a sequencer, so you need a separate sending tool.
What Cognism does better than Apollo.io
- Data built with Europe in mind, with mobile verification on Pro
- Hiring, funding, job change and intent signals on one platform
- CRM enrichment as a standalone product
- UK company with a Croatian affiliate, and English law on its website terms
Where Cognism is a step down from Apollo.io
- No prices published, demo-led sales
- UK is outside the EU, and the customer contract could not be checked
- No email sequences or dialer
- Standard and Pro both come with five seats, so it is sized for teams, not individuals
Standout against Apollo.io. It meters by revealed contact, so the same credits work across the platform, enrichment and API.
Datagma
phone and email lookup with a free tier and an API
Best for: Developers and small teams that need phone numbers or emails on demand
Datagma is an activity of INFORMATIONS, a French SASU at 3 boulevard de Sebastopol in Paris (RCS Paris 833 914 393). Its terms are under French law with the Paris courts, and they say data is extracted in real time without storage.
Its pricing page offers 3 phone numbers or 100 emails a month free with no credit card, API access, WhatsApp integration and catch-all emails on all plans, with monthly and annual billing and seats that scale with the plan. It advertises up to 93% email accuracy and strong EU phone coverage, which are its own claims.
It finds data only. You need another tool to send, and the free tier is small.
What Datagma does better than Apollo.io
- Free tier without a card, where Apollo's free plan is a full account
- French company under French law, Paris courts
- Real-time extraction without storage, by its own terms
- API access on every plan
Where Datagma is a step down from Apollo.io
- Finds phone numbers and emails only, with no sequences or CRM
- Free tier is 3 phones or 100 emails a month
- Accuracy figures are its own claims
- No database to browse like Apollo's
Standout against Apollo.io. Its terms state that data is extracted in real time without storage.
Dropcontact
French email finder and CRM enrichment that charges on success
Best for: Teams that already have a CRM and want contacts found and kept clean
Dropcontact is a French simplified joint-stock company registered at Bobigny (no. 823 752 647), with its registered office at 7 place de l'Hotel de Ville in Aulnay-sous-Bois. Its terms (updated 5 August 2025) are governed by French law with the Paris courts as the exclusive venue.
Its pricing page lists plans from €79 a month with 50 free credits to try, charged only on successful enrichment. It includes B2B email enrichment, email validation, catch-all verification, file enrichment, an API and MCP access and a Google Sheets add-on. The higher plan adds LinkedIn URL enrichment, job cleaning and company change detection, and credits carry over.
It enriches and verifies data you supply, and is not a database to browse like Apollo's.
What Dropcontact does better than Apollo.io
- Pay on success, so failed lookups cost nothing
- French company under French law with a published DPA
- 50 free credits to try before buying
- CRM integrations with HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce
Where Dropcontact is a step down from Apollo.io
- Credit plans from €79 a month cost more than Kaspr or Datagma for light use
- No database to search, so you must supply the names
- No sequences, dialer or pipeline
- Credits carry over only on the higher plan
Standout against Apollo.io. It bills only for contacts it successfully finds.
- Which law reaches it. eu-eea. Apollo.io is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
Best for: Sales teams that sell to Nordic companies and want account lists and trigger events
Vainu is run by Vainu.io Software Oy in Helsinki (business ID 2557864-2, Siltasaarenkatu 8-10), which is also the controller named in its privacy policy.
Its pricing page lists Reach from €250 a month billed annually (find companies and decision-makers, filters and segments over 550+ data fields) and Data Sync from €417 a month billed annually (keep your CRM records current). Premium and Full data tiers add business units, financials, owners and event data at +€83 and +€167 a month. The price is confirmed on a 30-minute demo call.
It is built on company data with a Nordic focus, and does not send email.
What Vainu does better than Apollo.io
- Finnish company, with a named data protection officer
- Starting prices published in euros
- Company events and trigger data for account selection
- API, MCP and CLI delivery for data teams
Where Vainu is a step down from Apollo.io
- Strongest in the Nordics, thinner elsewhere, by its own positioning
- Starts at €250 a month, much more than Apollo's free plan
- No outreach, sequences or dialer
- Governing law and forum were not found in the documents we read
Standout against Apollo.io. It sells the same company data three ways: in its own app, over an API, or as finished work.
What actually breaks when you switch
The hard part of leaving Apollo is rebuilding sequences and lists, not the data itself. Export your lists and sequence copy, and plan to rebuild steps, tokens and send windows by hand. Apollo's credits expire each billing cycle, so use what you have before the plan ends and do not buy add-on credits you cannot use.
No European tool matches Apollo's mix of database, sequencer, dialer and pipeline. Most migrations end up with two products, such as a data provider (Kaspr, Cognism, Datagma, Dropcontact or Vainu) plus a sender (lemlist, La Growth Machine, Overloop or Woodpecker), so budget for two subscriptions and check the CRM sync between them.
Warm up before you move volume. A new sending tool on an existing domain still depends on the same sender reputation, and a sudden jump in volume can hurt it. Move a small segment first, keep Apollo until the new tool has run cleanly for a few weeks, and note that LinkedIn automation carries a risk to your account whichever tool you use.
Is there a European tool that does what Apollo does?
The nearest is lemlist. It has a lead database of more than 650 million contacts, an email and phone number finder, multichannel sequences, a unified inbox, a built-in call dialer on the Multichannel plan and a deliverability hub, and it offers a 14-day trial with no card. Overloop and La Growth Machine cover the same loop of find, enrich and reach out with smaller databases.
What none of them has is Apollo's scale of data in one place together with a CRM-style pipeline. If you rely on Apollo for all of it, expect to combine two tools, for example a data provider with an outreach platform.
Which of these include their own contact data?
lemlist (650M+ leads), Overloop (450M+ prospects), La Growth Machine (a company database of 27M+ plus waterfall email enrichment), Woodpecker (Lead Finder credits), Kaspr, Cognism, Datagma and Vainu all supply data. Dropcontact enriches and verifies the data you already have. Waalaxy finds emails by credit on its top plan, and Salesflare gives lead search credits (5 on Growth, 100 on Pro).
The databases are not the same size or shape. Kaspr and Datagma are strongest on phone numbers and LinkedIn profiles, Cognism sells phone-verified mobile numbers for decision-makers, and Vainu is built on company data for the Nordics.
Can I try these without paying?
Kaspr has a free plan, Datagma has a free tier of 3 phone numbers or 100 emails a month with no card, and Dropcontact gives 50 free credits. lemlist, La Growth Machine, Waalaxy and Woodpecker offer 14-day trials, Overloop 7 days, and Salesflare a free trial. Cognism and Vainu are sold through a demo, with Vainu confirming the price on the call.
Apollo itself has a free plan that stays free with no time limit, so for a single user with light needs the free tier is one real reason to stay.
Does moving to a European tool remove my GDPR duties?
No. When you email a business contact you are the one who needs a lawful basis, a clear way to object and a record of where the data came from, whichever tool you use. A European vendor under European courts makes the contract and the transfer question simpler. It does not do the compliance work for you.
What you can check is how each vendor sources its data, whether it publishes an opt-out route and a DPA, and where it contracts. Cognism links a data opt-out page, Dropcontact links its DPA, Kaspr runs a privacy portal, and Overloop lists privacy and DPA documentation on its plans.
Which one to pick
If you want the nearest thing to Apollo, with its own lead data, sequences across channels and a dialer, lemlist is the one to test first, and it offers a 14-day trial with no card. La Growth Machine suits LinkedIn-led prospecting with enrichment included, and Overloop is the Belgian option with its own prospect database.
If your real need is contact data, start with Kaspr (free plan) or Datagma (free tier) and pair them with a sender, or look at Cognism if you have a larger team and phone numbers matter most. Woodpecker is the pick if you run cold email at volume and do not want to pay per seat, and Salesflare is the one if the CRM is the centre of your process.
Be realistic about the gap. None of the eleven offers Apollo's combination of one large database, a sequencer, a dialer and a pipeline in one subscription, and Apollo's free plan has no time limit. Switch if a contracting party, courts and hosting inside Europe matter to your company, and keep Apollo if a single, free, all-in-one account is what you need.
Frequently Asked Questions
lemlist is the closest all-round answer on this page, because it combines a lead database, finders, multichannel sequences, a dialer and a free trial in one product from a Paris company. If you only need the contact data, Kaspr (free plan) or Datagma (free tier) are cheaper starting points, and Cognism is the data-first choice for larger teams.
No. Its terms are a contract with ZenLeads Inc., trading as Apollo.io, governed by California law. Its privacy policy gives ZenLeads Inc. a Californian postal address. It is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and its DPA includes Standard Contractual Clauses that choose Irish law and the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Its data processing addendum says Apollo hosts its service with outsourced, US-based data center providers. It lists its subprocessors on its trust page, which was not opened for this page, so the list is not repeated here.
Apollo has a free plan with no time limit, then Basic, Professional and a Custom tier. Its pricing page, as served to us, does not show amounts in plain text, so no figure is quoted here. It does say credits are pooled across a team, reset every billing cycle and do not roll over, and that email campaigns are included on every account, with only Gmail connectable on the free plan.

lemlist (LEMPIRE SAS, Paris), La Growth Machine (B3 SAS, Saint-Mande), Kaspr (Paris), Waalaxy (SAS Waapi, Montpellier), Datagma (INFORMATIONS SASU, Paris) and Dropcontact (Aulnay-sous-Bois) are French companies under French law. Overloop (Brussels) and Salesflare (Antwerp) are Belgian, Woodpecker (Wroclaw) is Polish, and Vainu (Helsinki) is Finnish. Cognism Limited is registered in England and Wales, with a Croatian sister company, so it sits outside the EU but under UK law.
Not strictly. Cognism Limited is registered in England and Wales, with its registered office in London, and its website terms are governed by English law. Cognism d.o.o. in Zadar, Croatia is named as a joint controller in its privacy policy. The customer contract was not publicly available to check, so ask which entity you would sign with.
Yes. lemlist and La Growth Machine run both in one sequence, Overloop runs email and social campaigns, and Waalaxy is built around LinkedIn with cold email and multichannel sequences on its Business plan. Woodpecker is email-first, with LinkedIn outreach as an add-on. LinkedIn restricts automation in its own terms, so check the risk to your account whichever tool you use.
That is a common halfway step. You keep exporting contacts from Apollo and use lemlist, Woodpecker or Waalaxy only for sending. It lowers the dependency on Apollo's sequencer, but personal data still flows from Apollo's database, so it does not solve the sourcing question on its own.
No tool fixes it alone. Deliverability depends on your domain, authentication, warm-up, volume and list quality. lemlist has a deliverability hub, Woodpecker offers free warm-up and a domain audit, and Apollo offers a deliverability feature too. Moving tools will not repair a poor sending reputation.
