European Alternatives to ConnectWise

Looking for a European alternative to ConnectWise? ConnectWise, LLC is a US company and its site terms are governed by US federal law or the laws of the State of Florida, with disputes heard in Hillsborough County, Florida. Its RMM runs agents with administrator rights on customer machines, and pricing is quoted through a sales request rather than published.

The European tools below cover endpoint management, patching, remote access and monitoring from vendors based in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Spain, Latvia and Belgium. Some replace the whole RMM, others cover one part of it.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects which tools are listed. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • ConnectWise's website terms are governed by U.S. federal law or the laws of the State of Florida, which is the legal frame of the company behind an agent that runs scripts on every managed machine.
  • ConnectWise publishes no price list on the RMM pages read; the route to a number is a demo, a trial or a pricing request.
  • Checkmk, Zabbix, Paessler PRTG and Pandora FMS are monitoring platforms and Lansweeper is an asset discovery tool, so none of them pushes patches or deploys software the way an RMM does.
  • baramundi (Augsburg), Aagon ACMP (Soest) and opsi (Mainz) are the German endpoint tools on this page that combine inventory, patching and software distribution for one organisation, and Acronis RMM from Switzerland is the service-provider platform.
  • Zabbix is free and open source and Checkmk has a free Raw Edition, so a European monitoring layer can start without a licence fee.

Why people leave ConnectWise

ConnectWise sells software for the people who run other companies' computers. Its RMM page describes one console for patching, alerting, scripting and remote troubleshooting, with ScreenConnect for remote sessions, and it sits next to a PSA, managed EDR and quoting products in the same platform.

ConnectWise Automate is listed on that page as its own product. The customer testimonial on the page mentions a managed estate of more than 33,000 agents, which gives a sense of the scale it is built for.

Anyone who evaluates it for a European customer base runs into the contract first. ConnectWise's website terms say that all matters about use of the site are governed by U.S. federal law or the laws of the State of Florida, with proceedings in a court in Hillsborough County.

Those are the terms of the website, not of the product contract, but they show where the company sits legally. An agent that can run PowerShell, bash and batch scripts on every managed machine is administered by a US company, and US legal demands can reach a US company wherever its servers stand.

The second thing buyers notice is how it is sold. The RMM page offers a demo, a free trial and a pricing request, and no price list. For a managed service provider that is normal, because the quote depends on endpoint counts and bundled modules. For an in-house IT team that only wants patching and inventory for a few hundred machines, it means a sales process before the first number appears.

  • The contract and the administrator rights sit with a US company An RMM agent installs software, changes settings and runs scripts with system rights. The party that operates the console therefore has more reach into your estate than almost any other supplier. ConnectWise, LLC is a Florida-based entity, and its terms point to US federal and Florida law. If your own contracts or sector rules require a European or Swiss supplier for tooling with this much access, that settles the question before features come up.
  • No public price to plan a budget on The pages we read send visitors to a demo, a trial or a pricing request. Nothing on them states a price per endpoint. That suits an MSP that negotiates volume, but it makes a first budget guess impossible for a small internal team. Several European tools on this page publish prices (Pandora FMS in euros, PRTG in dollars per month) and a few are free at the core, so the comparison can start with real numbers.
  • A platform bought as a stack ConnectWise presents RMM, PSA, EDR, backup, CPQ and remote access as one platform. If you take only the RMM you pay for a sales relationship built around the stack, and the integrations that make it attractive work best when you buy the rest. Teams that want one job done, say patching or monitoring, can often pick a narrower European tool and avoid carrying modules they will not switch on.
  • Many buyers are not service providers Multi-tenant consoles, ticket consolidation and NOC services are built for companies that manage many customers. An internal IT department with one network does not need tenant separation or billing hooks. German endpoint suites such as baramundi and Aagon ACMP are shaped for exactly that single-organisation case and drop the MSP layer.

What you have to replace, not just match

Start by writing down which ConnectWise functions you actually run. Patch management for Windows and third-party software, script-driven remediation, alert rules, remote sessions, hardware and software inventory, and the PSA ticket link are separate duties, and the European market splits them across different vendors. No single tool on this page copies all of them. baramundi, Aagon ACMP, opsi and Acronis RMM cover patching, software distribution and inventory; Checkmk, Zabbix and PRTG cover monitoring; TeamViewer covers remote access.

Be clear about what the monitoring tools on this page are. Checkmk, Zabbix, Paessler PRTG and Pandora FMS watch servers, networks and services and raise alerts, but they do not push patches or install software on a workstation.

Lansweeper finds and describes devices and is not a management console. Heimdal is a security platform with patch management inside it. They replace the monitoring half of an RMM or the discovery half, and you pair them with a deployment tool for the rest.

Then list the things around the console that are harder to see: monitor sets and scripts you wrote over the years, customer-specific policies, the connection to your ticketing tool, and the remote-control sessions your technicians start dozens of times a day. Those are the parts that take weeks to rebuild, long after the agents are redeployed.

How each alternative compares to ConnectWise

#1

baramundi

The endpoint suite closest to the patching and deployment core of ConnectWise

Augsburg, GermanyPrice on request, licensed by module; free trial available#3 in IT Asset Management Software

Best for: In-house IT teams that want inventory, patching and OS rollout in a suite they can run themselves

Against ConnectWise, baramundi covers the part of an RMM that touches the machine: hardware and software inventory, network discovery, patch management, OS deployment, software distribution and mobile device management. The vendor lists Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS and Android, and says endpoints can be managed over LAN or the internet. Remote access, endpoint security and a vulnerability scan are add-ons.

The company is baramundi software GmbH in Augsburg, named as controller in its privacy policy. The suite runs on your own servers or as a baramundi-hosted version, which is a different arrangement from a console operated entirely by a US supplier. Prices are given on request, licensed per module.

What baramundi does better than ConnectWise

  • Contracting entity and hosting choice for a European buyer
  • A suite shaped for one organisation, without tenant layers
  • Mobile device management in the core
  • Self-hosting on your own servers

Where baramundi is a step down from ConnectWise

  • No published price, same as ConnectWise
  • Not described as a multi-customer MSP console
  • Hosting location of the vendor-hosted version is not stated

Standout against ConnectWise. baramundi puts the asset list and the machine you patch into one database that technicians act on directly.

Aagon ACMP

A client management suite sold in editions, with third-party patching from the third tier

Soest, GermanyNo fixed prices; quote on request#9 in IT Asset Management Software

Best for: German public sector and mid-sized IT teams that prefer a cumulative edition structure

Aagon ACMP is built as four editions that add to each other. Starter has inventory and Windows update management, Advanced adds packaging and automation, Professional adds third-party patching and Expert adds automated OS rollout. Compared with ConnectWise, where the module list is hard to read before a sales call, the edition ladder shows what sits where.

Aagon GmbH is registered in Soest at the Arnsberg court under HRB 15997 and holds the BITMi Software Made in Germany seal for ACMP. The hosting model and the supported operating systems were not stated on the pages checked, so ask before you shortlist it for a mixed Windows, macOS and Linux fleet.

What Aagon ACMP does better than ConnectWise

  • A readable edition ladder instead of an open-ended quote
  • Register entry and imprint with a named German court
  • Defender and BitLocker management inside the product

Where Aagon ACMP is a step down from ConnectWise

  • Prices only on request
  • Asset Management is licensed for managed endpoints only
  • Platform support and hosting model not stated on the pages checked

Standout against ConnectWise. Aagon ACMP lets a team start with inventory in the Starter edition and add patching and OS rollout only when needed.

opsi

Open-source deployment and patching for a single organisation, with a free core

Mainz, GermanyCore free. Professional from 4,99 € per device per year net (Education 2,99 €), Enterprise 8,99 € (Education 4,99 €), opsi Cloud 11,99 € (Education 7,99 €); extensions need 100 devices minimum; Basic license free up to 30 devices#3 in Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) Software

Best for: In-house teams and schools that want self-hosted software distribution without core licence fees

opsi covers the deployment and patching part of what ConnectWise Automate does for an internal team. The vendor says its free core handles software distribution, patch management, unattended OS installation, configuration management and inventory, with depot servers for multi-site setups. Clients run Windows, Linux and macOS, and a macOS agent is one of the paid extensions.

The developer is uib GmbH in Mainz. You can host the server yourself or use opsi Cloud in German data centers. Published prices are per device per year: Professional from 4,99 € net, Enterprise 8,99 €, opsi Cloud 11,99 €, while the Basic license is free up to 30 devices. It has no multi-customer billing or PSA link and no server or network monitoring, so it is not an MSP console.

What opsi does better than ConnectWise

  • A core with no licence fee and published per-device prices
  • Self-hosting with a German cloud alternative
  • Linux and macOS clients alongside Windows
  • Support directly from the developer

Where opsi is a step down from ConnectWise

  • Software arrives as packages, which needs packaging work
  • No monitoring, no PSA, not built for MSPs
  • Several extensions only in the Enterprise tier

Standout against ConnectWise. opsi is the only endpoint tool here whose deployment and patching core carries no licence fee.

Acronis RMM

The nearest match for a service provider, from a Swiss vendor with backup attached

Schaffhausen, SwitzerlandMonthly usage-based licensing through the Acronis platform; a price calculator is offered, no public price list seen#4 in Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) Software

Best for: Service providers that want RMM, backup and endpoint security from one platform outside the US

Acronis RMM is the entry here that most resembles ConnectWise in shape. The vendor lists device discovery, inventory, vulnerability assessment, patching for Microsoft products and more than 300 third-party Windows applications, monitoring, AI-assisted scripting, remote access and Microsoft 365 management, on one platform with backup, EDR and PSA integration. It names Windows, macOS and Linux, with feature support differing by system.

The privacy statement names Acronis International GmbH in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, as controller by default, and a customer agreement may name another Acronis entity. Switzerland is outside the EEA though covered by an EU adequacy decision. No public price list exists, only a calculator and monthly usage licensing. Internal IT departments are told to buy through a service provider, and the RMM data centre location was not verified.

What Acronis RMM does better than ConnectWise

  • A multi-purpose platform closest to a service-provider RMM
  • Backup and EDR on the same agent and console
  • A Swiss controller named in the privacy statement

Where Acronis RMM is a step down from ConnectWise

  • No public price, as with ConnectWise
  • Third-party patch coverage stated for Windows only
  • Tied to the wider Acronis platform

Standout against ConnectWise. Acronis RMM is the only European-side option here that bundles backup and EDR with RMM for service providers.

Heimdal

A security platform with patch management inside it, not a general RMM

Copenhagen, DenmarkPer endpoint, quoted#11 in endpoint protection

Best for: Teams that want patching, DNS filtering and endpoint protection from one Danish console

Heimdal is an endpoint security platform before it is anything else. Next-generation antivirus, EDR, patch management, DNS security, privileged access management and managed XDR sit under one console. Against ConnectWise it replaces the patching and security pieces, and you should not expect general scripting, inventory depth or a PSA link from it.

Heimdal Security A/S is in Copenhagen and was founded in 2014. The data region is something you choose per product: the European choices are Azure in the Netherlands or AWS in Germany, and the same list contains the UK, the US and the UAE. A European tenant has to be selected, it is not the default. A free trial is offered and pricing is per endpoint, quoted.

What Heimdal does better than ConnectWise

  • Security and patching bundled under a Danish contract
  • A managed XDR option when you have no security operations team
  • Selectable EU storage in the Netherlands or Germany

Where Heimdal is a step down from ConnectWise

  • Not a full RMM, with less inventory and scripting emphasis
  • EU hosting must be chosen, other regions exist
  • Quoted pricing only

Standout against ConnectWise. Heimdal is the only entry here that joins patching to DNS security and privileged access management.

Matrix42

Service desk and device fleet in one product, aimed at the DACH mid-market

Frankfurt, GermanyPer device or per user licence#3 in IT Service Management

Best for: IT departments that want tickets and endpoint management in the same system

Matrix42 attacks the other side of the ConnectWise platform, the PSA link. The product combines a service desk with ITIL processes and unified endpoint management for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, plus software asset management with licence compliance and automated deployment. For an internal team, the ticket and the device live in one record.

The vendor is headquartered in Frankfurt, offers German hosting, and runs on-premises or as SaaS. Licensing is per device or per user and, in the words of the tool page, rewards buying the suite. It is strongest in German-speaking markets and has a longer implementation than a narrow tool, so expect a project rather than an install.

What Matrix42 does better than ConnectWise

  • Ticketing and endpoints in one record for in-house teams
  • Software licence compliance in the same product
  • German hosting and on-premises options

Where Matrix42 is a step down from ConnectWise

  • Longer implementation than a focused RMM
  • Thinner outside the DACH region
  • Pricing favours the full suite

Standout against ConnectWise. Matrix42 removes the reconciliation between service desk data and device data because both come from one platform.

Pandora FMS

A Spanish monitoring suite with euro prices and a free 50-agent edition

Las Rozas de Madrid, SpainFree edition for up to 50 agents; ONE from EUR 2,447 per year (100 devices); MSP from EUR 0.51 per agent per month (100 agents); MaaS (SaaS) from EUR 783 per month (300 agents); NMS from EUR 1,590 per year (100 network devices); RMM from EUR 612 per year; Corporate on quotation#10 in Observability & Log Management

Best for: Teams that want published euro prices for monitoring and are happy to deploy software elsewhere

Pandora FMS is a monitoring suite, and that is where it should be compared. It covers network, server, application and log monitoring, a SIEM view and more than 500 plugins, and it runs on-premise, as SaaS or through the AWS and Azure marketplaces. It does not take the patching and software distribution side of ConnectWise Automate, although one of its editions is labelled RMM, from EUR 612 per year.

Pandora FMS S.L.U. is in Las Rozas de Madrid and its website terms follow Spanish law with Madrid courts. The software and hosted service sit under separate subscription terms that were not readable on the website, so ask for the contract before signing. Prices are published: free for 50 agents, MSP from EUR 0.51 per agent per month, MaaS from EUR 783 per month.

What Pandora FMS does better than ConnectWise

  • Prices published in euros for each edition
  • A free edition for up to 50 agents
  • Log collection and alerting next to infrastructure monitoring

Where Pandora FMS is a step down from ConnectWise

  • Seven editions make the right pick unclear
  • Free edition has community support only
  • Monitoring first: no patch rollout like ConnectWise

Standout against ConnectWise. Pandora FMS is the one monitoring suite here that publishes a euro price for every edition, including an MSP one.

Checkmk

Self-hosted monitoring that discovers services on its own

Munich, GermanyFree Raw Edition; paid editions priced per monitored service#6 in Monitoring & Observability

Best for: Operations teams that want coverage by default and keep monitoring data inside their own network

Checkmk is a monitoring platform from Munich and is not a patching tool. Its draw against ConnectWise's alerting is automatic discovery: it works out which services on a host deserve a check and applies thresholds that are usually sensible, from a catalogue of more than 2,000 plugins. The estate stays covered without a backlog of hand-written checks.

Checkmk GmbH, which grew out of Mathias Kettner GmbH, offers a free open-source Raw Edition and paid editions priced per monitored service. Both run on your own infrastructure, or in Checkmk Cloud. Because per-service pricing grows with the estate, model it on your real host count before you commit. It is also weaker at application tracing than at infrastructure.

What Checkmk does better than ConnectWise

  • Automatic discovery of services and sensible thresholds
  • A free open-source edition
  • Telemetry that can stay entirely on your own servers
  • Commercial support from a German company

Where Checkmk is a step down from ConnectWise

  • No software deployment or patching
  • Per-service pricing grows with the estate
  • Migrating checks from another system is a project

Standout against ConnectWise. Checkmk turns monitoring coverage from a maintenance chore into the default state of a new host.

TeamViewer

The remote-access part of the job, from a German listed company

Göppingen, GermanyPer licence, per year#1 in Remote Desktop Software

Best for: Support desks and providers that must reach machines on any platform without preparing the network

TeamViewer replaces ScreenConnect-style remote sessions, not the whole console. It supports attended and unattended control on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, with file transfer, session recording, wake-on-LAN and remote printing, and the connection works through firewalls without network configuration. Device monitoring and asset management exist in the higher tiers only.

TeamViewer SE is headquartered in Göppingen and listed in Frankfurt, which matters for a product whose relay can in principle see which machines connect to which. Licensing is per concurrent user per year, tiered by simultaneous sessions and managed devices, and renewal increases are a frequent complaint. There is no self-hosted relay.

What TeamViewer does better than ConnectWise

  • Reach on desktop and mobile platforms without network work
  • German jurisdiction for the remote-access vendor
  • Session recording and unattended access out of the box

Where TeamViewer is a step down from ConnectWise

  • Patching and scripting are not its core
  • The most expensive option on this page
  • No self-hosted relay

Standout against ConnectWise. TeamViewer connects to nearly any machine on the first attempt, which no monitoring or endpoint suite here matches.

Zabbix

Free, open-source monitoring for estates of any size

Riga, LatviaFree and open source; paid support and services#5 in Monitoring & Observability

Best for: Teams with the skills to run their own monitoring server and no wish to pay per host

Zabbix is a monitoring platform, so set expectations accordingly: it collects metrics through agents, agentless checks, SNMP and IPMI, raises alerts and uses distributed proxies for remote or segmented sites. It does not roll out patches or install software on a PC. Against ConnectWise it replaces the monitoring and alerting layer only.

Zabbix SIA is based in Riga and the software is GPL, so there is no licence limit on hosts or metrics; you pay for the hardware and, if you want it, support. The price of that freedom is work: setup and tuning take effort, the interface is functional rather than pleasant, you operate the database behind it, and application tracing is not its strength.

What Zabbix does better than ConnectWise

  • No licence fee and no host or metric limits
  • Self-hosted wherever you run it
  • Proven at very large scale with proxies

Where Zabbix is a step down from ConnectWise

  • No patching or software deployment
  • Real setup and tuning effort
  • You operate the database yourself

Standout against ConnectWise. Zabbix lets you monitor every machine without a per-host bill, at the cost of running it yourself.

Paessler PRTG

A sensor-based monitoring console with a full 30-day trial

Nuremberg, GermanyPRTG 500 from $200/month, PRTG 1000 from $358/month, PRTG 2500 from $742/month, PRTG 5000 from $1,300/month, PRTG 10000 from $1,642/month, billed annually; also available as PRTG Hosted Monitor or on-prem Enterprise Monitor for larger environments#9 in Monitoring & Observability

Best for: Network and systems teams that want a mature console and can plan sensor counts

Paessler PRTG monitors servers, networks, cloud services and OT from one console and, like the other monitoring entries here, does not distribute software. The sensor library covers most common infrastructure out of the box, and the 30-day fully featured trial needs no credit card, so you can test the real product against your own network before any talk of licences.

Paessler GmbH is registered in Nuremberg. Prices on the tool page run from PRTG 500 at $200 per month to PRTG 10000 at $1,642 per month, billed annually, which is a published figure ConnectWise does not give, though in US dollars. PRTG is self-hosted or available as PRTG Hosted Monitor, and discovery is more manual than Checkmk's.

What Paessler PRTG does better than ConnectWise

  • Published monthly prices per tier
  • A trial that is the full product
  • Self-hosted or managed hosted option

Where Paessler PRTG is a step down from ConnectWise

  • Monitoring only, no patching
  • Sensor-based pricing grows with scale
  • Dollar pricing and less automatic discovery

Standout against ConnectWise. Paessler PRTG gives network teams a sensor-per-check console they can try in full for 30 days.

Lansweeper

Discovery and inventory for IT, OT and IoT, not a management console

Merelbeke-Melle, BelgiumFree plan (full detail for the first 100 assets); paid plans see website#4 in IT Asset Management Software

Best for: Teams that first need to see every device on the network before deciding on heavier tooling

Lansweeper only answers the question of what is on the network. It discovers devices with a hub and sensors (IT, OT and traffic), an IT Agent and Cloud Discovery, and keeps the data in a site with dashboards, reports and vulnerability data. It cannot patch, script or control a machine, so against ConnectWise it overlaps with inventory and nothing else.

The company is registered with the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises as Lansweeper, at Fraterstraat 212 in Merelbeke-Melle; its legal pages blocked our check, so the register was the source. The free plan has unlimited scanning and users and shows full detail for the first 100 assets, and you choose between a US East (Ohio) site and a Europe-hosted one without a country named.

What Lansweeper does better than ConnectWise

  • A free plan with no scan limit
  • Coverage of OT and IoT devices
  • A Europe-hosted site option

Where Lansweeper is a step down from ConnectWise

  • No patching, scripting or remote control
  • Full detail on the free plan stops at 100 assets

Standout against ConnectWise. Lansweeper is the only tool here that maps OT and IoT devices alongside the IT estate, for free at small scale.

lansweeper.com Visit Lansweeper

What actually breaks when you switch

Agents come first. Uninstalling the ConnectWise agent and installing a new one on every machine is a rollout in itself, and during the overlap two management agents may both want to patch.

Agree a cut-over order, run the new tool on a pilot group, and only then remove the old agent. Export what you can before the contract ends: inventory, device groups, scripts and alert rules. Ask whether the scripts (PowerShell, bash or batch in the ConnectWise setup) can be reused as they are in the new tool.

Contracts and habits come second. A new suite means new licence terms and in several cases a quote you must request, since baramundi, Aagon ACMP, Acronis RMM and Heimdal do not publish prices; opsi and Pandora FMS do.

Technicians need time to learn another console, and if remote sessions move to TeamViewer you add a second licence and a second login. Plan the training week, keep the old tool running during the notice period, and compare the first invoice against what you paid before.

Can one European tool take over everything ConnectWise does for us?

Not completely. ConnectWise bundles monitoring, patching, scripting, remote access and a PSA link, and the European listings divide that work. Acronis RMM comes closest for providers, while baramundi, Aagon ACMP and opsi are built for one organisation. If you are an MSP, test the ticketing and billing connection first, because the pages we checked do not describe it for most of these tools.

In practice a European setup is two or three tools: a deployment and patching suite, a monitoring platform, and a remote-access product. That is more vendors to manage, and in return each one does its job without the modules you did not want.

Is a monitoring tool enough if we only want alerts?

Yes, if alerts are really all you use the RMM for. Checkmk discovers services by itself, Zabbix collects with agents, SNMP and agentless checks at any scale, PRTG gives you a sensor console, and Pandora FMS adds logs and a free 50-agent edition. All of them are honest monitoring tools and describe themselves that way.

The moment you want a script to fix the problem on the machine, or a patch to roll out after Patch Tuesday, you need something that acts on endpoints. That is the point where monitoring-only tools stop and a suite such as baramundi or Aagon ACMP starts.

Which one to pick

If you run IT for one organisation and want patching, software distribution and inventory in a European suite, shortlist baramundi, Aagon ACMP and, if you prefer open source, opsi first, and add Matrix42 when the service desk should join the same system. If your problem is mainly alerting, choose a monitoring platform: Checkmk for discovery, Zabbix for no licence fee, PRTG for a mature console with published prices, Pandora FMS for euro pricing and a free tier.

If you are an MSP with many customers, start with Acronis RMM, the closest in shape, and check its pricing and region answers in writing.

Nothing on this page is a drop-in copy of ConnectWise, and the alternative route is a deployment suite plus a monitoring tool plus TeamViewer for sessions. Heimdal fits where security and patching matter most, and Lansweeper is the cheap first step to find out what you actually manage. Stay with ConnectWise while the multi-tenant PSA link is the thing your business depends on.

Frequently Asked Questions

For a service provider, Acronis RMM from Switzerland is the closest match, combining patching, scripting, remote access and backup.

For an internal team, baramundi from Augsburg, Aagon ACMP from Soest and the open-source opsi from Mainz cover inventory, patching and software distribution, and Matrix42 adds a service desk. For the monitoring half, Checkmk, Zabbix, Paessler PRTG and Pandora FMS are the options, and TeamViewer covers remote access. Which is best depends on whether you replace the whole console or one duty.

Acronis RMM is the exception: the vendor sells it to service providers on monthly usage licensing. baramundi, Aagon ACMP, opsi and Matrix42 are described for single organisations. Pandora FMS sells an MSP edition from EUR 0.51 per agent per month for 100 agents, which is a monitoring edition, and TeamViewer is aimed at IT teams and service providers for remote access. None of the pages we read describes a ConnectWise-style combination of patching, ticketing and billing for many tenants.

Checkmk, Zabbix, Paessler PRTG and Pandora FMS monitor infrastructure and alert on it, but do not distribute software. Lansweeper discovers assets. TeamViewer is centred on remote access, with device monitoring and asset management in higher tiers. Heimdal is a security platform that includes patch management. baramundi, Aagon ACMP, opsi, Matrix42 and Acronis RMM are endpoint management products in the classic sense.

Zabbix is free and open source with paid support, and the opsi core is free of licence fees. Checkmk has a free open-source Raw Edition. Pandora FMS has a free edition for up to 50 agents with community support, and Lansweeper has a free plan with full detail for the first 100 assets. The endpoint suites baramundi and Aagon ACMP publish no prices; you ask for a quote or a demo.

It changes the contracting party and the supervisory authority, which is usually what a compliance team asks for. It does not by itself decide where the data sits: Heimdal lets customers pick a storage region that includes the UK, the US and the UAE, and Lansweeper offers a US East or a Europe-hosted site. Ask each vendor which region your tenant runs in and write it into the contract.
