Detailed Review
Lansweeper discovers assets on the network and keeps their data in a site. Its Network Discovery is built from a hub and sensors (an IT sensor, an OT sensor and a traffic sensor), and it also has an IT Agent and Cloud Discovery as separate methods, covering IP-connected IT, OT and IoT devices.
The company is registered in the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises under the name Lansweeper, at Fraterstraat 212 in Merelbeke-Melle. Lansweeper's own legal pages returned a bot check when we tried them, so the entity was confirmed in that register and not in its terms.
Free Plan With a Clear Limit
Lansweeper's documentation says the Free plan has no asset cap and unlimited scanning and users. The first 100 scanned assets show full details such as manufacturer, model and state. Assets beyond 100 are still discovered but show only name, type and IP address.
The same documentation says that from 5 November 2026 this licensed and unlicensed distinction applies to all plans, so paid plans are also counted by licensed assets.
Choosing a Hosting Region
When you set up a site you choose between a US East (Ohio) site and a Europe-hosted site. The documentation recommends the Europe-hosted site under certain conditions but does not name the country or provider, so ask for that detail in writing.
Discovery, Not Procurement
The documented features are discovery, dashboards, views, reports and vulnerability data. The documentation pages we read do not describe contract or purchase tracking, so treat it as an inventory and visibility layer.
Limitations to Consider
The legal terms and pricing page could not be read (they returned a bot check), so the contracting entity is confirmed only through the Belgian register and prices are not stated here. The free plan limits full detail to 100 assets, and the documentation does not describe contract or purchase tracking. For license position and audit defence look at Xensam or USU.
Who Should Use Lansweeper
IT teams that want to see every device on the network, including OT and IoT, quickly and at no cost before deciding whether they need a full ITAM or software asset management product.
