European Alternatives to Attentive

Looking for a European alternative to Attentive? Attentive is operated by Attentive Mobile Inc. from New York, and its pricing page says plans are built around messages sent, list size, channels and AI tools, with a demo as the way in rather than a public price list. Its privacy policy states that it relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for personal data coming from Europe.

The European tools below send SMS from providers that contract in the EU, UK or Switzerland. Several publish per-message or monthly prices, and a few add email, WhatsApp or RCS to the same account.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • Attentive Mobile Inc prices by messages sent, list size, channels and AI modules, and its pricing page offers a demo rather than a rate table.
  • Attentive states certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, so personal data from Europe is covered by a transfer arrangement instead of an EU-established processor.
  • Omnisend from Lithuania is the nearest structural match for Attentive among the European tools, with SMS, email and web push in one shop-connected flow.
  • smsmode, Spryng and eCall each state a hosting location (Marseille and Paris, Frankfurt, Switzerland), which the Attentive pages checked do not.
  • Esendex, Textmagic, Mitto and eCall are British or Swiss, so four of the twelve sit outside the EU under adequacy decisions.

Why people leave Attentive

Attentive is a text-first retention platform for shops. Its pricing page lists SMS and MMS, RCS, email and push, a patented two-tap sign-up, pre-built cross-channel journeys, A/B testing frameworks, a creative brand kit and built-in TCPA and compliance tools, and its home page says it reaches customers in more than 20 countries. People who run a store with a phone-number-first list and a US audience choose it because the pieces are meant to fit together.

The company behind it is Attentive Mobile Inc. Its website terms say the site is controlled and operated from its offices in the State of New York, and disputes about the site go to binding arbitration under the Federal Arbitration Act.

Its privacy policy says that, for client customers, it acts as a data processor and complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions. The customer master agreement is not public, so the contract that matters to you is the one you negotiate.

Europeans look elsewhere for three reasons that show up on its own pages: the price is assembled from messages, list size, channels and AI modules and reaches you through a demo, the compliance tooling is described in terms of the American TCPA, and the contracting party sits in New York. None of that makes Attentive a bad product. It means a European shop should check how much of the suite it will use before paying for all of it.

  • The price is a quote built from four dials Attentive says pricing depends on the number of messages sent, the size of the subscriber list, the number of channels and the premium AI tools chosen, and that it is usage-based without a credit system. There is no public rate table. Esendex, Textmagic, seven and Spryng print per-message or per-month figures, and Omnisend publishes a free plan, so you can estimate a year of sending before you speak to anyone.
  • Data from Europe travels under the Data Privacy Framework The privacy policy states certification to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, with the UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. framework, and gives a privacy mailbox for complaints. That is a legitimate transfer route, and it rests on a US adequacy arrangement that your officer has to keep watching. A processor established in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, such as smsmode or GatewayAPI, takes the question away.
  • The compliance toolkit is American-shaped The pricing page sells built-in TCPA tools, a statute that governs texting in the United States. A French marketing text needs a STOP mention and has to respect CNIL time limits, according to smsmode, and a German or Dutch list has its own opt-in proof. A European vendor documents those rules in its own pages, while Attentive documents the US ones.
  • You pay for channels and AI modules you may not use AI Pro and AI Grow are sold as separate modules, one on a flat monthly fee and one per click, and the full package bundles all channels with a customer success manager. A shop that only needs cart reminders and a welcome text can run those on Omnisend, Brevo or a plain gateway for a small share of the spend, with fewer dials to tune.

What you have to replace, not just match

Before choosing a replacement, list what Attentive does for you today. Most programs use five things: the sign-up units on the site that collect the phone number and consent, the journeys (welcome, browse, cart, post-purchase), the campaign calendar with segments, the shop integration that feeds orders and products, and the sending identity, meaning the number or sender name recipients see.

Each of these is a separate piece of work in a European stack, and the tools differ in how many of them they cover.

The platform tools, Omnisend and Brevo, cover sign-up forms, journeys and shop feeds in one account. The gateways, smsmode, SMSAPI, Spryng, GatewayAPI and seven, cover mostly the last item and leave forms, segmentation and journey logic to your shop platform or CRM. Neither group copies the AI modules, and none of the European pages claims a two-tap sign-up, so any list-growth tooling will be a separate decision.

The consent record is the part that cannot be skipped. The new tool needs proof of who agreed to what, and through which sign-up unit, for every number. Export the timestamp and the wording shown at sign-up with each contact. Numbers without that record are the ones to re-collect with a confirmation message.

How each alternative compares to Attentive

Omnisend

The closest structural match, with SMS, email and push in one shop flow

Vilnius, LithuaniaFree plan (500 emails, 250 contacts, 500 web push notifications/month, no card); Standard from $11.20/month; Pro from $41.30/month, both with unlimited web push; Custom pricing above 150,000 contacts#1 in Push Notifications

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Lithuania). Attentive is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. Google Cloud Platform; no region named in the Data Processing Agreement.
  • Source code. Closed source, as Attentive is.

Best for: Online shops that want Attentive-style cart and welcome flows without a demo-led contract

Omnisend UAB in Vilnius builds for the same buyer as Attentive, the store owner, and puts SMS next to email and web push inside one automation builder. The category page lists cart recovery by SMS, quiet hours and frequency caps, and the vendor states SMS from $0.007 per message. The shop connections cover Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and Shoplazza.

The price path differs: a free plan exists, and paid tiers start at $11.20 a month for Standard and $41.30 for Pro. Hosting is on Google Cloud Platform with no region named, and no security certificate is published, which are the questions to put to the vendor before importing a list.

What Omnisend does better than Attentive

  • Starts with a permanent free plan rather than a demo
  • Email and web push come in the same account
  • Lithuanian contracting entity with a published entity code
  • Frequency caps and quiet hours are listed on the category page

Where Omnisend is a step down from Attentive

  • No two-tap sign-up or AI modules like Attentive's
  • Hosting region unnamed, certificates unpublished
  • Web push only, no native app SDK

Standout against Attentive. It is the only tool here that sells SMS as a step in a store-connected flow with a free entry point.

Brevo

Email-led workflows where SMS and WhatsApp are steps among others

Paris, FranceFree (300 emails/day, unlimited contacts) / from about €8/month#1 in Email Marketing

  • Which law reaches it. EU (France). Attentive is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. EU.
  • Source code. Closed source, as Attentive is.
  • Independently checked. GDPR.

Best for: Teams that already send email and want SMS added to the same journeys and CRM

Brevo of Paris, formerly Sendinblue, runs email, SMS, WhatsApp, CRM and transactional mail on one platform. Where Attentive centres on the phone number, Brevo centres on the contact and lets each workflow choose the channel, for example SMS two hours after an unopened email. The vendor claims more than 500,000 businesses use it.

Brevo bills by emails sent and offers unlimited contacts on a free plan with 300 emails a day, which changes the maths for a large list that is mailed rarely. SMS credits are bought per destination. The site's Brevo texts quote different entry prices for paid plans, and the terms list several sub-processors, so ask for the current price and hosting list.

What Brevo does better than Attentive

  • Combines email, SMS and WhatsApp in one visual builder
  • Prices by emails sent, so list size does not set the bill
  • Includes a CRM and transactional email
  • French company, EU processing, free plan

Where Brevo is a step down from Attentive

  • SMS is a module, not the core of the product
  • No two-tap sign-up or text-specific AI tools
  • Needs configuration before it matches a ready-made retention suite

Standout against Attentive. It gives one place to run SMS, email, WhatsApp and a sales pipeline at a price that does not follow list size.

smsmode

A French messaging platform for teams on HubSpot, Salesforce or Klaviyo

Marseille, FranceSubscriptions Basic €9, Classic €69, Medium €159 and Premium €499 per month excl. VAT, with messages billed on consumption; prepaid packs from 1,000 SMS#3 in SMS Marketing Software

  • Which law reaches it. EU (France). Attentive is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. Two ISO 27001 certified data centres, Interxion MRS1 in Marseille and Scaleway DC4 in Paris, data stored in France; HDS-certified host as an option.
  • Source code. Closed source, as Attentive is.

Best for: French and Belgian senders who need SMS and RCS campaigns with a named hosting location

Calade Technologies, trading as smsmode in Marseille, offers a campaign web app, a REST API, SMPP and plugins for HubSpot, Salesforce, Klaviyo and Zapier. For Attentive users the interesting part is that you can keep the CRM or the Klaviyo setup that holds the segments and move only the sending. RCS and WhatsApp Business run from the same account.

Subscriptions run from €9 to €499 a month and messages are billed on consumption on top, so the monthly fee is not the campaign cost. Phone support begins at the Classic plan. The vendor names Interxion MRS1 in Marseille and Scaleway DC4 in Paris and holds ISO 27001.

What smsmode does better than Attentive

  • Names two French data centres, which Attentive's pages do not
  • Plugins connect an existing CRM to the sender
  • Documents French STOP and CNIL timing rules
  • Offers an HDS-certified host for health data

Where smsmode is a step down from Attentive

  • No storefront app confirmed on the pages we read
  • Per-message billing sits on top of the subscription
  • No journey library comparable to Attentive's

Standout against Attentive. It states its hosting down to the data centre names and documents the French rules for marketing texts.

SMSAPI

A contract-free Polish gateway for those who bring their own audience

Gliwice, PolandPay as you go, no set-up fee and no contract, minimum payment €30, rates per destination country; free trial credit without a card#4 in SMS Marketing Software

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Poland). Attentive is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. Two redundant server centres, ATMAN and T-Mobile, more than 150 km apart; the safety page does not state the country.
  • Source code. Closed source, as Attentive is.

Best for: Senders in Poland and central Europe that want pay-as-you-go texts and short links

SMSAPI is a brand of LINK Mobility Poland in Gliwice. Compared with Attentive, there is no subscription and no sales cycle: a €30 minimum payment, no contract, no set-up fee, and a free trial credit without a card. The portal sends bulk SMS, handles replies through receiving numbers and shortens links with click analytics.

The site mentions more than 200 integrated systems and an API for the rest, so segments come from your shop or CRM. The two server centres, ATMAN and T-Mobile, are more than 150 km apart, but the country is not stated. There is no email channel in the account.

What SMSAPI does better than Attentive

  • No contract and a €30 minimum payment
  • Short links with click analytics in the portal
  • Two-way replies through receiving numbers
  • ISO 27001 stated on the safety page

Where SMSAPI is a step down from Attentive

  • No email, push or storefront flow builder
  • Server country not named
  • Per-country price list needed for a budget

Spryng

A Dutch provider with a healthcare security record and a new campaigns module

Amsterdam, NetherlandsIndicative €0.07 per SMS to the Netherlands and €0.069 to Belgium and Germany, purchases from 100 SMS, no start-up or monthly costs; volume prices on request#5 in SMS Marketing Software

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Netherlands). Attentive is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. Private clouds inside the EU; the security page states the virtual private clouds are in Frankfurt.
  • Source code. Closed source, as Attentive is.

Best for: Dutch and Belgian companies that want SMS, WhatsApp and RCS from Amsterdam with stated Frankfurt hosting

Spryng B.V. in Amsterdam began in 2006 with appointment reminders for hospitals, which is why it holds both ISO 27001 and NEN 7510. For marketing it describes a Campaigns module for SMS, WhatsApp and RCS, with abandoned-cart, back-in-stock, feedback and win-back as use cases, and it works as a Meta Business Solution Provider and a Google partner for RCS.

The security page puts its virtual private clouds in Frankfurt. Indicative rates are €0.07 per SMS to the Netherlands and €0.069 to Belgium and Germany, bought from 100 SMS, and other countries are quoted. The campaigns module is described briefly and the site is Dutch first.

What Spryng does better than Attentive

  • States Frankfurt hosting and NEN 7510 healthcare certification
  • Prices shown per SMS with no monthly cost
  • 24/7 support in four languages
  • WhatsApp and RCS handled as official partner

Where Spryng is a step down from Attentive

  • Prices only for three countries
  • Campaign tooling is new and thinly documented
  • No email channel in the same account

Standout against Attentive. It combines a stated EU hosting city with a Dutch healthcare security standard.

Esendex

UK plans with printed prices, outside the EU

Nottingham, United KingdomSMS plans: Starter £54/month (500 messages), Growth £143/month (2,500 messages), Enterprise £468/month (10,000 messages), all including API access; WhatsApp, RCS, voice and email quoted separately on request#10 in Communication APIs

  • Which law reaches it. United Kingdom (adequacy decision, outside the EU). Attentive is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Source code. Closed source, as Attentive is.
  • Independently checked. ISO 27001.

Best for: UK businesses that want fixed monthly SMS bundles with API access from the first tier

Esendex, operated by Commify UK Limited in Nottingham since 2001, prints what Attentive does not: Starter at £54 a month for 500 messages, Growth at £143 for 2,500 and Enterprise at £468 for 10,000, with API access in each. The category page adds automation and surveys, and the vendor describes two-way messaging and one-time passcodes.

Because the company is British, the relationship rests on the UK adequacy decision instead of EU establishment. WhatsApp, RCS, voice and email, and anything above 10,000 messages, are quoted. ISO 27001 is stated and a 7-day trial is offered. The company belongs to the Commify group, as does Spryng.

What Esendex does better than Attentive

  • Prints three monthly SMS tiers with prices
  • API access is included from the cheapest plan
  • ISO 27001 stated and a 7-day trial
  • Survey and automation tools listed

Where Esendex is a step down from Attentive

  • UK entity, not an EU one
  • Other channels are quoted, not priced
  • No shop-platform flow library

Standout against Attentive. Three printed SMS tiers let a UK sender budget before any sales call.

GatewayAPI

A Danish API for developers who want EU-only routing as a switch

Odense, DenmarkBy default you pay only for the traffic you send, with no subscriptions or monthly fees (except in countries that require a short code). Prices are per operator in the chosen country, shown in EUR by default (DKK selectable for RCS). RCS from EUR 0.0410 per message. Email pricing is not shown on the pricing page. Creating an account is free. Exact per-country SMS rates are in a downloadable price list or on request.#12 in Communication APIs

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Denmark). Attentive is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. Two completely separated setups. The EU setup (gatewayapi.eu, chosen at signup) runs in a Hetzner Online GmbH data center in Germany, which the vendor says is EU-owned. The vendor also states that the global (.com) setup is hosted at Google Cloud data centers in Europe, and that the EU setup uses data centers in Denmark and Germany with ownership and routing kept in the EU; it describes both setups as ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3402 audited..
  • Source code. Closed source, as Attentive is.
  • Independently checked. Annual ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3402 auditor's statements on GDPR (as already listed in sms-api; not re-verified here).

Best for: Developers who trigger texts from their own shop and want a separate EU setup

ONLINECITY.IO ApS in Odense runs GatewayAPI, an API for SMS, RCS and email with HLR lookup, virtual numbers, short codes and keywords. It has no campaign editor of its own, so segmentation and journeys stay in your application, and the category page names cart-recovery SMS as a use case.

At signup you choose gatewayapi.eu, a separate setup that the vendor says runs on Hetzner in Germany under EU ownership and routing, or the .com setup on Google Cloud in Europe. Billing is for traffic only, per operator, and RCS starts at EUR 0.0410 per message. The SMS tables sit in a download or a quote.

What GatewayAPI does better than Attentive

  • Separate EU setup under EU ownership and routing
  • No subscription or monthly fee by default
  • Danish entity with a published CVR number
  • Pay for traffic only

Where GatewayAPI is a step down from Attentive

  • No campaign builder or storefront integration
  • No voice, video or WhatsApp listed
  • SMS rates not visible on the pricing page

Standout against Attentive. It makes EU-only hosting and routing a choice made at signup.

  • Independently checked. SOC 2 Type II, GDPR.

Best for: Small teams that want two-way business texting without a subscription tier

Textmagic Limited in Romford sells prepaid credit: bundles of 20 to 10,000 units at $0.049 per SMS, or $0.01 per SMS when it routes through your own Twilio, Vonage, Sinch or Bandwidth account. The category page lists automation flows and sender-ID and consent tools, and the page describes two-way SMS with email and a chat and social inbox.

SOC 2 Type II is stated. Registration features for US 10DLC suggest it also serves American senders, which an Attentive user with a mixed list may value. It has no RCS or voice API of its own, and the UK location sits outside the EU under an adequacy decision.

What Textmagic does better than Attentive

  • A flat published rate and no subscription
  • A shared inbox for replies from customers
  • Can reuse an existing CPaaS account for carrier rates
  • SOC 2 Type II stated

Where Textmagic is a step down from Attentive

  • Source code. Closed source, as Attentive is.
  • Independently checked. ISO 27001.

Best for: Senders who want SMS, WhatsApp and Viber with failover and visible per-country rates

Mitto AG in Zug lists a no-code campaign creator, SMS failover, scheduling and statistics next to an API for SMS, WhatsApp Business, RCS, Viber, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram and voice. Compared with Attentive, the channel list is wider on messaging apps and narrower on shop logic.

A calculator on the pricing page shows per-message rates by country and currency without an account, and a self-serve trial exists. RCS and large volumes are quoted. ISO 27001 is stated, no data residency location is published, and Switzerland sits outside the EU and EEA under an adequacy decision.

What Mitto does better than Attentive

  • Number lookup and identity verification included
  • ISO 27001 stated

  • Which law reaches it. Switzerland (adequacy decision, outside the EEA). Attentive is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. Redundant data centres in Switzerland.
  • Source code. Closed source, as Attentive is.

Best for: Swiss companies that want SMS and WhatsApp from a Swiss provider with data in Switzerland

F24 Schweiz AG in Wollerau runs eCall, with F24 AG in Munich named as the group company in the imprint. The portal sends and schedules texts and sets up standing orders for recurring messages, and business accounts add REST and SMPP among five interfaces. It also handles WhatsApp Business, RCS, voice and Threema.

Campaign building is delegated to SMSup, a subsidiary in Fribourg, so eCall alone is more a sender than a marketing suite. The vendor states redundant data centres in Switzerland and ISO/IEC 27001. Prices sit in separate CHF and EUR lists and the site is German first.

What eCall does better than Attentive

  • States Swiss data centres
  • Reaches Threema users, which Attentive does not list among its channels
  • Standing orders for recurring texts
  • Five connection methods at no fee

Where eCall is a step down from Attentive

  • Campaign builder sits in a separate service

Best for: Developers and small senders that want a simple API at €0.075 per SMS

seven, previously sms77, was founded in Hamburg in 2003 and is now headquartered in Kiel. It offers a REST API, a web app, voice with text-to-speech, webhooks and a sandbox, with two-way SMS and email to SMS per the category page. Number lookup removes invalid numbers before you pay to send them.

Pricing starts at €0.075 per SMS and integrations include Zapier, Make and n8n. There is no WhatsApp, RCS or campaign tooling beyond the web app, so a retention program built on Attentive journeys would have to be rebuilt in your own system. A Kiel head office puts it under German law.

What seven (sms77) does better than Attentive

  • Published per-SMS price
  • Number validation before sending
  • Sandbox for testing integrations
  • German entity with data processing agreements

Where seven (sms77) is a step down from Attentive

  • No WhatsApp or RCS
  • No audience or journey tooling
  • Smaller reach outside Europe

Standout against Attentive. It checks that numbers are valid and reachable before you spend money on the send.

Sender.net

A free email tool where SMS is a paid-tier extra

Vilnius, LithuaniaFree Forever: 2,500 subscribers, 15,000 emails/month / Standard from $6.30/month (500 subscribers, billed annually) / Professional from $10.50/month / Enterprise on request#9 in Newsletter Platforms

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Lithuania). Attentive is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Source code. Closed source, as Attentive is.

Best for: Small senders that live in email and need an occasional text

UAB Sender.lt in Vilnius runs Sender.net, an email platform whose free plan covers 2,500 subscribers and 15,000 emails a month with automation. The site's page says SMS is bundled into the paid tiers, and the vendor's SMS guide is the only evidence we found; its SMS pricing and country coverage were not verified.

Standard starts at $6.30 a month and Professional at $10.50, with WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify integrations. For someone who left Attentive because the suite was too much, this is the far end of the scale: little SMS depth, but a very low bill.

What Sender.net does better than Attentive

  • A free plan for 2,500 subscribers
  • Very low entry prices on paid tiers
  • WooCommerce and Shopify integrations

Where Sender.net is a step down from Attentive

  • SMS is thinly documented
  • No dedicated SMS compliance tools shown
  • Fewer features than Brevo at the top end

Standout against Attentive. It is the cheapest way to keep email going while testing whether SMS is worth adding.

What actually breaks when you switch

The visible switch is the contact list and the invisible one is the sign-up. Attentive collects numbers through its own sign-up units on your site, and each number needs a consent record that you can show. Removing the Attentive tag without installing a replacement stops list growth the same day, so install the new forms first and run both for a short time. Export subscribers with the source and the wording, not just the number.

Assume that welcome, browse, cart and post-purchase flows have to be rebuilt in the new tool, and that the European tools differ in how much they provide: Omnisend and Brevo have builders, the gateways expect your shop to trigger sends. Also expect new sender identities: alphanumeric sender names and short codes are registered per country and have to be set up again. Check the cancellation terms in your Attentive agreement, which is not public, for notice periods and minimum commitments.

Is Attentive cheaper or more expensive than a European SMS tool?

That cannot be settled from Attentive's pages, because it publishes no rate table: the price depends on message volume, list size, channels and AI modules, and a free trial is requested through a form. The European tools show their numbers instead. Esendex lists £54 a month for 500 messages, Textmagic charges $0.049 per SMS, seven charges €0.075 per SMS, and smsmode starts a subscription at €9 a month before consumption.

The honest way to compare is with your own numbers. Take last quarter's sends per country, multiply by each European per-message rate, add the platform subscription where one exists, and ask Attentive for a quote on the same volume. Remember that a gateway leaves out the segmentation and journeys you would otherwise pay Attentive for.

Can a European tool send to US customers as well?

Some can, but check each one. Textmagic describes registration work for US 10DLC and region-specific rules for the UK, US, Canada and Australia, and Mitto, GatewayAPI and Spryng describe international routes through their APIs. Per-country rates differ, and the American carrier registration is a separate process that every sender has to complete.

If most revenue comes from the United States, the trade-off reverses: Attentive was built for that market and its TCPA tools target it. Many shops split the program, with Attentive for the US list and a European tool for the EU and UK lists, each with its own consent record.

Which one to pick

If your store is the centre of the program, start with Omnisend and compare it with Brevo. Omnisend is closer in shape to Attentive, with a free plan to test cart and welcome flows. Brevo is the choice when email already carries most of the revenue and SMS is one more step. For a very small list, Sender.net is the cheap place to begin, but its SMS side is the least documented.

If segments live elsewhere, pick a sender by region and by hosting statement. smsmode suits French teams on HubSpot, Salesforce or Klaviyo. Spryng fits the Netherlands and Belgium with Frankfurt hosting, SMSAPI fits Poland with no contract, and GatewayAPI fits developers who want the EU-only setup. eCall and Mitto are the Swiss options, Esendex and Textmagic the British ones, and seven the plain German API. Keep Attentive where most of your customers are in the United States.

Frequently Asked Questions

For an online shop, Omnisend from Lithuania is the nearest match, with SMS, email and web push in one flow and a published free plan. Brevo from France fits teams that want SMS and WhatsApp inside a general workflow builder. If you already have segments in your shop platform or CRM, smsmode, SMSAPI, Spryng and GatewayAPI are the sending-focused options, and Esendex, Textmagic, Mitto, eCall and seven complete the list.

Its privacy policy describes personal information of European client consumers as transferred to Attentive in the United States, and names no hosting region. It also states that Attentive Mobile Inc acts as a processor for its clients and certifies to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions. Ask for the data processing agreement and a list of sub-processors before signing.

Esendex prints three monthly plans, £54 for 500 messages, £143 for 2,500 and £468 for 10,000. Textmagic prints $0.049 per SMS and seven prints €0.075. Omnisend publishes a free plan and paid tiers from $11.20 a month, and Mitto shows per-country rates in a live calculator. GatewayAPI and Spryng sell by traffic, with the full country tables behind a download or a quote.

Not necessarily, but you need proof of the original opt-in. Export each contact with the timestamp and the wording shown at sign-up, and carry that into the new tool. Where the record is missing or vague, send a confirmation text and wait for a reply before including the number in campaigns. French marketing texts also need a STOP mention, according to smsmode.

No. Esendex and Textmagic are British, and Mitto and eCall are Swiss, all under EU adequacy decisions. The other eight, Omnisend, Brevo, smsmode, SMSAPI, Spryng, GatewayAPI, seven and Sender, contract from the EU, from Lithuania, France, Poland, the Netherlands, Denmark and Germany. Spryng and Esendex are both part of the Commify group, which matters if you want vendors that do not share an owner.
