What does European sales enablement software replace from Highspot, and what does it leave out?
No single European tool in this directory covers everything on Highspot's feature list, so the useful first step is to split the contract into jobs. Highspot's own site lists content management, plays and playbooks, buyer engagement, sales training, coaching, conversation intelligence and digital sales rooms. Showell comes closest to the content-plus-training bundle, with its library, learning module and rooms in one app for field sellers and dealers.
The rest of the list covers one or two jobs each. emlen, Along and HummingDeck handle buyer-facing rooms and tracked documents. Retorio, Fioro and PitchMonster handle practice conversations. Modjo handles recorded calls. Pitcher sits in between, with offline content, CRM capture and an AI role-play module in one platform.
The practical consequence is that a team leaving Highspot often ends up with two European tools instead of one: for example Showell for governed content plus Modjo for call coaching, or emlen for rooms plus Fioro for onboarding practice. Count that when you compare prices, and count the second contract when you compare procurement effort.
How much does sales enablement software cost in Europe?
The published prices run from €9 per month to €700 per workspace per month, and the unit changes from tool to tool.
HummingDeck charges €9 for a single-user Starter plan, €24 per user per month for Pro and €39 per user per month for Business. emlen asks €59 per user for Professional and €89 per user for Business, with a Core plan at €450 per month including five seats. Along starts at €59 per license for Premium, with AI agents at €49 per license on top.
Showell prices the workspace instead of the seat: €700 per month for 10 to 200 users on Professional, which works out cheaper per head the more sellers you add. Oneflow lists €250 per month for five seats billed annually, and Better Proposals lists $13, $21 and $42 per user per month on annual billing. Better Proposals is a UK company that prices in US dollars, so check the exchange rate against your budget.
Pitcher, Modjo, Retorio, Fioro and PitchMonster publish no price. Fioro offers a 7-day free trial, Modjo asks for the number of licenses in a quote form, and PitchMonster quotes per seat across two plans. Highspot behaves the same way: its pricing page asks how many people work on your go-to-market team before it routes you to sales.
Does a European sales enablement vendor keep your deal data out of US reach?
Partly, and the answer depends on which layer you mean. The contracting company decides which law governs the agreement and which regulator you can write to.
Showell Oy (Finland), emlen GmbH, Along Technologies GmbH, Retorio GmbH and Fioro Technology GmbH (Germany), RINGO SAS (France), Hummingdeck, MB (Lithuania) and Oneflow AB (Sweden) are EU companies. Pitcher AG is Swiss, and PitchMonster's Onboard Software Ltd and Better Proposals' Advantix Technologies Limited are UK companies, which depend on EU adequacy decisions and sit outside the EEA.
Hosting is a separate question. Showell names AWS data centres in the EU, Modjo uses AWS without naming a region, HummingDeck runs on Google Cloud, and Better Proposals names AWS data centres without stating where. Along says its product is built and hosted in Germany, a vendor statement we did not verify further. For Pitcher, Retorio, Fioro and PitchMonster the pages we checked do not name a hosting region at all, so ask in writing before you sign.
Pitcher deserves one extra check: its about page lists Denver next to Zurich, so read the order form to see which entity signs. Showell's terms refer to the Showell entity set out in the order form, which is the same reminder in different words.
How do you move from Highspot to a European tool without losing content and history?
Start with an audit of what your sellers actually open. Highspot's pricing page describes three packages (Equip and engage, Train and practice, Coach and reinforce), and most teams use a fraction of the top package. List the content that is live, the plays reps follow, the courses people finish and the calls managers review, and map each item to one of the European tools above before you cancel anything.
Move content first, because it is the easiest part to rebuild. A library in Showell or emlen can hold the same decks and price sheets, and links already sent to buyers will need to be re-issued from the new tool. Training moves second: Retorio and Fioro build sessions from your existing playbooks and battle cards, so the written material has to exist before you can train on it.
Call recordings and analytics are the hard part. Modjo's transcripts and scores start from the day you connect it, and nothing in the pages we checked promises an import of Highspot history. Keep read access to the old platform until the notice period ends, export what the contract allows, and accept that historical engagement data will not follow you.
When should a team not switch from Highspot to a European alternative?
Stay if you use Highspot across content, training, coaching and meeting intelligence and your CRM sync is already tuned. Highspot's trust page lists SOC 2 Type 2 audits and ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 27701:2019 certifications, and its site shows Highspot as part of Seismic, which gives you one vendor for the whole stack. A mixture of three or four European tools can match the functions but adds integrations, contracts and logins that someone has to own.
Stay if the real driver for leaving is price and you have not compared quotes. Several European tools here do not publish a price, so the saving is a guess until a demo has happened. The tools that do publish a price, from HummingDeck at €9 to Showell at €700 per workspace, are a better starting point for a budget conversation than a rumour about what a competitor charges.
Switch when jurisdiction is the stated requirement. A Highspot, Inc. contract is governed by US law according to the terms of its website, and its privacy policy refers to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for transfers. If your legal team wants an EU or Swiss contracting party and an EU hosting region in writing, the shortlist above is built for that.
How do these tools connect to the CRM and the rest of the sales stack?
The CRM is where most integration plans succeed or fail. emlen lists two-way sync with Salesforce, HubSpot, MS Dynamics and Pipedrive on its Professional plan. Modjo lists panels in Salesforce and HubSpot and offers HubSpot, Salesforce, Dynamics 365, Pipedrive, Sellsy and Zoho as CRM options in its quote form. PitchMonster includes a Salesforce integration in its base plan and keeps Gong and LMS integrations for the higher plan.
HummingDeck's Pro plan lists Close CRM and Slack, and the pages we checked do not confirm Salesforce or HubSpot sync, so a team on those CRMs should test it first. Pitcher describes capturing the outcome of an offline meeting back into the CRM. Retorio lists CRM, LMS and API integration on its enterprise reporting side.
Check the direction of the sync as well as the name of the CRM. A tool that only reads from the CRM shows a seller the right deal, while a tool that writes back, as Modjo does with summaries and extracted fields, changes what your forecast contains. Decide which of the two you need before the demo, not after the pilot.
