European Alternatives to Narvar
Looking for a European alternative to Narvar? Narvar, Inc. is a US company, its terms are governed by California law with courts in San Francisco, and its privacy policy relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of European personal data. Its site offers demo requests rather than a published price list.
The European tools below cover returns portals, exchanges and tracking, with contracting entities in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, the UK and Israel, and several publish their prices.
How we rank these tools — 4-step process
-
1
European ownership, verified
The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.
-
2
Category fit and hands-on review
What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.
-
3
Compliance and pricing check
GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.
-
4
Position on this page
Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects which tools are listed. Editorial policy

Key takeaways
- Narvar, Inc. is a San Mateo company, and its terms are governed by California law with courts in San Francisco.
- Narvar publishes no price list on its site, while Returnless starts at EUR 105 per month, Returnflows at EUR 119 plus EUR 1.25 per return and Returnista at EUR 179.
- Of the ten European tools on this page, only parcelLab states a data location in Germany and only Revers.io states European hosting on Microsoft Azure, so the other eight need a data processing agreement checked.
- Narvar sells returns as one module (Shield) of a six-part suite, whereas Returnista, Returnless and Returnflows sell returns on their own.
- ZigZag Global and Shipup belong to the same group, so choosing both gives you one supplier, not two.
Why people leave Narvar
Narvar, Inc. of San Mateo, California sells what it calls an all-in-one post-purchase platform. The product line on its site has six names: Promise for delivery date estimates, Secure for protecting orders, Track for tracking pages, Notify for proactive messages, Assist for delivery claims and Shield for returns, exchanges and return fraud. A retailer who buys Narvar for returns therefore buys into a suite whose other five parts it may or may not want.
The contract is where European retailers start to hesitate. The pair file for this page records that Narvar's terms are governed by California law with courts in San Francisco, and that its privacy policy leans on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses to move European shoppers' personal data across the Atlantic.
Every return carries a name, a home address and an order history, so that transfer mechanism is the same one a data protection officer will ask about first.
The second reason is simpler to state: you cannot price it. The site routes every visitor to a demo request and publishes no plan list, so a shop with 400 returns a month and a shop with 400,000 get the same first step, a sales call. Several European tools below print their monthly fee; that alone changes how fast a small team can compare.
- A US contracting party for data that is about European shoppers Narvar, Inc. is the entity in the privacy policy, and the terms point to California law and San Francisco courts. For European personal data the policy relies on the Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. A returns portal sees the shopper's name, address, order lines and the reason for sending something back, so many retailers would rather sign with an EU, UK or Israeli entity than depend on a transfer mechanism.
- No published price The Narvar site offers a demo and no pricing page. That is normal for enterprise post-purchase software, but it makes a quick comparison impossible. Returnless, Returnista, Returnflows, Shipup and ReturnGO each publish at least a starting fee, and ZigZag Global lists a free Shopify tier, so a smaller shop can shortlist on cost before it ever books a call.
- Returns come bundled with five other modules Shield is the returns part of a platform that also sells delivery promises, tracking, notifications and claims. If your carrier tracking already works, you are evaluating and paying for scope you did not ask about. Returns-only products such as Returnista and Returnless exist because many shops want just the portal, the rules and the refund or exchange.
- Built around big-brand scale Narvar says on its homepage that more than 1,500 brands use it and that it connects more than 1,000 carriers. Those are vendor claims, but they show the target: large retailers with many carriers and many countries. A webshop with one warehouse and two carriers uses a small part of that and carries the onboarding effort for all of it.
What you have to replace, not just match
The first thing to replace is the return flow itself: the customer portal, the reasons list, the rules that accept, reject or charge for a return, and the step that issues a refund, store credit or an exchange.
Every European tool on this page covers that core. Where they differ is in the second layer.
Narvar's Shield pairs the portal with return fraud signals, and on its site Narvar says that 15 percent of returns are fraudulent, a figure from the vendor's own marketing. Returnista and Returnless offer a gatekeeper that holds risky returns for manual review, and parcelLab shows a fraud and abuse dashboard, but the pages reviewed state no shared fraud dataset on the scale Narvar describes.
The second thing is everything around the return. If your Narvar contract also runs Track, Notify and Promise, then tracking pages, delivery notifications and delivery date estimates leave with it, and the returns-only tools above will not bring them back.
For that half of the job the page offers parcelLab, Shipup and Outvio, where tracking and messages are a core part of the product, and Sendcloud, where the branded tracking page and return portal sit on top of shipping labels. Decide early whether you are replacing one module or the whole suite.
The third is the wiring. Narvar lists integrations with Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento and Salesforce, and with Zendesk, Gorgias, Klaviyo and Attentive on the support and marketing side. Check each of those against the tool you pick: Returnflows is aimed at Shopify, parcelLab names Zendesk and Salesforce, and Returnless lists more than 35 integrations. Warehouse and carrier connections, and the webhooks your ERP listens to, are rebuilt in practice, not copied.

How each alternative compares to Narvar
Best for: Dutch and DACH fashion and sports shops with a high return rate that want exchanges
Returnista B.V. is registered in Amsterdam under Chamber of Commerce number 69019460 and keeps a second office in Munich. Against Narvar's Shield, its core is the same, a portal with configurable reasons, periods, fees and a gatekeeping option that holds high-risk returns for review, but it is sold as a single product with two published plans, EUR 179 and EUR 279 per month, and a custom tier.
The vendor says more than 1,000 brands in Europe use it, and the customer list on its site leans towards Dutch fashion and sports. Exchanges, store credit and automated refunds are the pitch, and a dashboard of return data is meant to change product pages. Customer quotes cite a drop in return rate from 47 to 32 percent at one shop, which is a testimonial, not a measured benchmark.
What Returnista does better than Narvar
- Prices on the page, EUR 179 and EUR 279 per month
- Contracting entity in the Netherlands, under Dutch company law
- A returns-only scope that is faster to configure than a suite
- Own carrier contracts or yours, with DHL, Bpost, UPS and PostNL terms linked
Where Returnista is a step down from Narvar
- No delivery tracking or forward notifications
- Data location not stated on the pages reviewed
- No free tier, and some pricing labels are in Dutch
Standout against Narvar. Returnista treats the exchange as the main way to keep revenue and builds its plan matrix around it.
Best for: Small and mid-sized European webshops that want to start without a sales call
Returnless is the cheapest published entry point among the dedicated returns tools: Integrate at EUR 105 per month, Automate at EUR 260 and Accelerate at EUR 599, plus a free trial. Compared with Narvar, where the first step is a demo, a shop can open the product and judge it. The vendor says more than 1,500 brands use it, and the site is in English, German and Dutch.
Return forms with follow-up questions, rules that accept, reject or charge, and exchanges through coupons and gift cards sit in the entry plan. Analytics, automations and removal of Returnless branding start at EUR 260. The site shows an ISO 27001 badge. The legal entity name was not found, since the imprint and privacy URLs returned 404, so ask who signs your contract.
What Returnless does better than Narvar
- A free trial and published plans against a demo-only process
- More than 35 integrations plus a REST API and webhooks
- Unlimited users and return forms
- ISO 27001 badge shown on the site
Where Returnless is a step down from Narvar
- Legal entity name and form not stated on the pages reviewed
- Analytics and automations need the EUR 260 plan
- Returns only, with no tracking or delivery estimates
Standout against Narvar. Returnless is the one dedicated returns tool here where you can start a trial and read three full price points before talking to anyone.
Best for: Retailers and manufacturers with stores, warehouses, suppliers and repairers in the return chain
Revers.io is published by SAV GROUP, a French SAS registered in Paris under number 513781526. It is the only tool on this page that treats a return as a chain of parties: customer service, stores, carriers, warehouses, suppliers and repairers in one case. Its case studies on the site name Maisons du Monde, FNAC-Darty and La Redoute, and it states more than 550 connected partners.
The privacy policy says software data is hosted in Europe by Microsoft, while the marketing site is hosted by Amazon in the United States, and the stack lists Cloudflare and OpenAI. That is a candid but mixed picture. Pricing is on request, with a demo or return assessment first, exactly like Narvar.
What Revers.io does better than Narvar
- Supplier returns, repair management and recommerce journeys
- Software data hosting in Europe stated in the privacy policy
- A French contracting entity with a register number
- Technical team stated to be based in France
Where Revers.io is a step down from Narvar
- No published prices, same sales-led start as Narvar
- Too broad for a small shop
- US marketing-site hosting and US providers in the listed stack
Standout against Narvar. Revers.io is the only vendor on this page whose scope reaches back to suppliers and repair workshops.
Best for: Online stores that want paid return options, exchanges and a certified vendor
ReturnGO Ltd. is an Israeli company, and its terms say it is a member of the Global-e Online Ltd. group, with Israeli law governing the terms. Israel counts as European for this directory since October 2026, so it qualifies, but the group link is worth knowing about. The site claims more than 2,700 brands and states a SOC 2 certification.
The plan matrix lists variant and product exchanges, store credit, gift cards, adjustable return fees, labels, reverse pickups and return coverage. Premium starts at USD 147 and Pro at USD 297 per month, and Enterprise begins above 10,000 returns per year. Several items, such as instant exchanges, are add-ons or higher-tier.
What ReturnGO does better than Narvar
- Published starting prices where Narvar offers a demo
- SOC 2 certification stated on the site
- Exchange options: variant, product, store credit and gift cards
- Works with different shop platforms according to its pricing page
Where ReturnGO is a step down from Narvar
- Prices in US dollars and many add-ons
- Label fees may flow to ReturnGO, Global-e or the platform provider, so read the contract
- Data location not stated
Standout against Narvar. ReturnGO is the tool on this page that explicitly sells paid returns and return coverage as a way to shift cost to the shopper.
Best for: Shopify stores in the Nordics and DACH with moderate volumes that also handle claims
Returnflows Systems ApS has its office at Dampfærgevej 3 in Copenhagen. It has three parts: returns with exchanges and gift cards, claims for damaged or missing items, and a Withdrawals module aimed at EU withdrawal rules. Against Narvar, which sells a claims module called Assist for delivery issues, Returnflows keeps claims close to the returns flow.
The price has two lines: Standard is EUR 119 per month plus EUR 1.25 per return, Growth is EUR 229 plus EUR 0.85, and a custom tier goes below EUR 0.65. A WMS integration costs EUR 35 per month on Standard. The vendor cites one shop with 108,000 returns a year. Its terms and privacy policy are Drive documents we could not read.
What Returnflows does better than Narvar
- Prices in euro on the page
- A withdrawals module for EU consumer-law rules
- Unlimited markets from the entry plan
- Claims with auto close and auto cancel on Growth
Where Returnflows is a step down from Narvar
- A fee per return makes high-volume cost rise with returns
- Shopify focus, other platforms need confirming
- Terms and privacy documents could not be read in review
Standout against Narvar. Returnflows is the only tool here with a dedicated module for the EU right of withdrawal.
Best for: Mid-sized and large retailers that want tracking, messages and returns from one German vendor
parcelLab GmbH, Munich, HRB 221085, is the closest European match to the whole of Narvar rather than to Shield alone. Order tracking, branded messages and a returns module called Retain share one platform. The returns portal is policy-driven and works with print-at-home labels, QR codes, in-store drop-off or a pickup for high-value items, across more than 50 carrier integrations.
Exchanges and store credit are offered as alternatives to refunds, and a fraud and abuse dashboard shows return signals. The GDPR page says data is stored on servers in Germany and the cloud contract prevents moving it to other regions, running on AWS. Pricing is on request, and no certification or sub-processor list appears on that page.
What parcelLab does better than Narvar
- Data stored in Germany, stated on its GDPR page
- Tracking and returns under one German contract
- Connections to Zendesk and Salesforce for support teams
- Fraud and abuse dashboard next to the portal
Where parcelLab is a step down from Narvar
- No public prices, only demo requests
- No certifications listed on the pages reviewed
- Broader than a returns-only need, so you pay for modules you may skip
Standout against Narvar. parcelLab is the only European option here that mirrors Narvar's tracking-plus-returns structure and states a German data location.
Best for: Retailers with cross-border returns, especially around the UK and Germany, who want to charge for returns
ZigZag Global Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 09404819 and states that it works under UK GDPR and, where applicable, EU GDPR. It combines software with logistics: 3,000 carrier lanes across 170+ countries, and a returns hub in Germany that validates, grades, consolidates and routes returned items. Narvar integrates with carriers; ZigZag also moves goods.
The Shopify app runs from a free tier (UK domestic returns only) through Silver at USD 20, Gold at USD 50 and Platinum at USD 199 per month, with enterprise on request. Paid returns, live exchanges and returns through WhatsApp are listed. The UK sits outside the EU, and ZigZag also owns Shipup.
What ZigZag Global does better than Narvar
- A free Shopify tier where Narvar has no public price
- Paid returns to recover cost, and live exchanges
- Own carrier network and a Germany returns hub
- Returns handled in WhatsApp
Where ZigZag Global is a step down from Narvar
- Free tier covers UK domestic returns only
- Shopify prices in US dollars with pay-as-you-go extras
- Data location not stated, and a UK entity sits outside the EU
Standout against Narvar. ZigZag Global is the one vendor on this page that physically routes and grades returned parcels through its own hub.
Best for: Webshops that want shipping, tracking and returns in a single tool
Outvio OÜ is an Estonian limited liability company with its registered office in Tallinn, according to its terms of service. Returns are one product inside a suite that also covers fulfilment, shipping, tracking, notifications and analytics, which makes the structure similar to Narvar's, at a smaller scale. The site lists integrations with more than 90 couriers for 3PL users.
The portal is available in over 30 languages, and its rules can require a photo for damaged goods, mark items as non-returnable, offer free shipping to push an exchange or let customers keep a low-value item. Status updates go out by email, SMS and WhatsApp. Prices did not render on the pricing page, so the cost cannot be stated here.
What Outvio does better than Narvar
- A returns portal in 30+ languages
- Rules such as photo proof and keep-the-item for cheap goods
- Shipping, tracking and returns under one contract
- A Returns API
Where Outvio is a step down from Narvar
- Prices not visible on the page we fetched
- Heavier than a returns-only tool
- Data location not stated
Standout against Narvar. Outvio's Revenue Plus tool steers customers towards store credit and exchanges using live product availability.
Best for: Webshops that already ship through several carriers and want returns on the same account
Sendcloud B.V. in Eindhoven is a shipping platform first: labels, 170+ carriers and 100+ integrations, with the option to use your own carrier contract. Branded tracking and a return portal arrive on the Growth plan at EUR 87 per month, and advanced returns management on Premium at EUR 175. The company says it serves more than 30,000 e-commerce businesses.
For a shop that wants to drop a Narvar returns contract and consolidate on a carrier platform, that is a different route. The free plan covers up to 20 parcels a month, and each plan carries a yearly label cap. The contracting entity depends on the customer country, with Sendcloud GmbH in Munich for Germany and Austria and Sendcloud Ltd for the UK.
What Sendcloud does better than Narvar
- Shipping labels and returns on one account
- A free plan and a 14-day trial of paid plans
- Prices published per plan and per label
- Tracking notifications in 8 languages
Where Sendcloud is a step down from Narvar
- Returns depth sits in the higher plans, not the entry ones
- Yearly label caps per plan
- Entity depends on the customer country
Standout against Narvar. Sendcloud is the only tool on this page that creates the outbound label and the return portal in the same account.
Best for: French and European shops that want branded tracking and notifications first, returns second
Shipup SAS, Boulogne-Billancourt, registered in Nanterre under number 822 856 068, is branded Shipup by ZigZag on its site. It corresponds to the tracking half of Narvar: a branded tracking page with product recommendations, notifications by email, SMS, WhatsApp and Apple Wallet, and a smart delivery estimate that can sit on the product page.
The returns portal is one module of a longer list that includes carrier claims, a logistics dashboard and an incident dashboard, and the site mentions more than 150 integrations and 23 percent fewer returns-related tickets as a customer result. Plans run EUR 299, EUR 599 and EUR 999 per month with a one-year commitment.
What Shipup does better than Narvar
- Delivery estimate on the product page, as with Narvar's Promise
- Notification channels including WhatsApp and Apple Wallet
- Published plan prices
- Carrier claims and a logistics dashboard
Where Shipup is a step down from Narvar
- One-year commitment
- Returns are secondary to tracking
- Owned by the ZigZag group, so not independent from ZigZag Global
Standout against Narvar. Shipup is the closest European match to Narvar's Track and Promise pair rather than to its returns module.
What actually breaks when you switch
The slowest part of leaving Narvar is rebuilding policy. Return windows, fees by country, reason codes, exceptions for sale items and the wording of every email and portal screen exist as configuration inside Narvar, and none of the European vendors on this page states an importer for it.
Export what you can, then expect to enter the rules again by hand and test them with real orders. Returnista and Returnless both describe rule editors that need no developer, which makes this less painful than it sounds.
The contract side deserves one early question each: which entity signs, where the data sits, and what happens to historic return data at the end.
The pages reviewed state a location for parcelLab (Germany) and Revers.io (Europe on Azure) only, and Returnless, which shows an ISO 27001 badge, does not say who the legal entity is. Ask for the data processing agreement before the pilot, not after. If you also lose Narvar tracking and delivery estimates, tell customer service in advance, because the first week of changed emails and portal pages generates tickets.
Do I need a European returns tool if my shop is small?
Narvar was designed for retailers that run many carriers and many markets, and its site is organised around that kind of client. A shop with a few hundred returns a month does not need most of it.
Returnless, with a free trial and three published plans from EUR 105 per month, and the Shopify-focused Returnflows, at EUR 119 per month plus EUR 1.25 per return, are priced for shops of that size, and ZigZag Global offers a free Shopify tier limited to UK domestic returns.
Where a small shop should be careful is the pricing unit. A flat monthly fee grows with the plan you need, a per-return fee grows with your return rate. If your fashion shop returns three in ten orders, multiply before you decide.
Can a European tool match Narvar on delivery date estimates?
Only partly, and the pages reviewed do not allow a like-for-like claim. Narvar's Promise module is about delivery date estimates and, per its homepage, a delivery date accuracy above 95 percent, which is a vendor figure. Shipup lists a smart delivery estimate that can sit on the product page, and parcelLab and Outvio cover tracking and customer messages. None of them states an accuracy figure.
If the estimate on the product page is the part of Narvar that earns you money, run it in parallel on a share of traffic before you cancel. Returns-only tools such as Returnista and Returnless do not offer this module at all.
Which one to pick
Pick by what you actually use. If Narvar means the returns portal and exchange logic, Returnista or Returnless are the quickest swaps, Returnista for exchange-heavy fashion and sport, Returnless for a cheaper start with a trial. Returnflows fits Shopify stores that also want claims and the withdrawal module and accept a fee per return, and ReturnGO suits shops that want paid returns with a SOC 2 vendor and can live with US dollar prices.
If Narvar means tracking, notifications and returns together, take parcelLab for a German data location, Shipup or Outvio for a lighter French or Estonian suite, or Sendcloud when shipping labels belong in the same account.
Revers.io is for large retailers with supplier returns and repairs, and ZigZag Global for cross-border returns with paid options. If Narvar's scale and fraud data are what keep it in place, run a European tool on a slice of returns first, and keep Narvar until the numbers hold.
Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on what you use Narvar for. For the returns portal alone, Returnista and Returnless are the closest fits and both publish prices. For tracking plus returns from one vendor, parcelLab in Munich is nearest in scope, with Shipup and Outvio as smaller options. For large retailers with supplier returns and repairs, Revers.io in Paris covers more ground than Narvar's returns module does.
Narvar, Inc. is a US company, so US legal process can reach data it controls, whatever region the servers are in. The Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses it relies on address transfers, not that reach. A European contracting entity moves the main contract to EU, UK or Israeli law, but it does not remove every US dependency, for example when the vendor runs on a US cloud.
Returnless lists EUR 105, EUR 260 and EUR 599 per month, Returnista EUR 179 and EUR 279, Returnflows EUR 119 or EUR 229 plus a fee per return, ReturnGO starts at USD 147, ZigZag Global lists a Shopify app from USD 0 to USD 199, Shipup EUR 299 to EUR 999 and Sendcloud from a free plan up to EUR 639. Revers.io and parcelLab quote on request, and Outvio's page did not show prices when we checked.
Mostly yes, but test it. Returnflows is built for Shopify, ReturnGO says it supports any platform, Returnless lists more than 35 integrations and parcelLab connects to Zendesk and Salesforce. The exact app for your helpdesk or warehouse system is the detail to confirm with each vendor before the contract.
The vendors do not state migration times on the pages reviewed, so we do not give one. The work is mostly in rebuilding return rules, reason codes, email templates and carrier labels, and in re-pointing integrations. Plan it outside peak season and keep Narvar live until the new portal has handled real returns.
