European Alternatives to Fireflies.ai

Looking for a European alternative to Fireflies.ai? How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • Fireflies.AI Corp. contracts under Delaware law with courts in New Castle County and binding individual arbitration, and says it stores personal information in the United States and other countries.
  • tl;dv (Aachen) has a free forever plan, German law with a court in Aachen, and HubSpot and Salesforce integrations, with hosting in the EU named in its privacy policy.
  • MeetGeek runs an EU instance contracted with a Romanian company under Romanian law and lists seven CRM integrations, but the US instance is a Delaware company, so the sign-up route matters.
  • Claap and Modjo are French and aimed at revenue teams. Claap publishes €24 and €48 a month on annual billing, and Modjo prices by recording licence without printing a figure.
  • Leexi, Jamie, Noota, Wudpecker, Recapro and Seedext each suit a narrower case, from no-bot capture to an on-premise server.
  • Meeting Metrics keeps audio in Switzerland but sends text to US model providers, so it is the one to check closely.

Why people leave Fireflies.ai

Fireflies.ai is the notetaker that joins your calls as a bot, records and transcribes them, writes a summary and pushes the result into other tools.

It has a free forever plan, and paid seats on its pricing page cost $10 (Pro) or $19 (Business) a month on annual billing, or $18 and $29 month to month, with an annual-only Enterprise tier at $39. App and CRM integrations sit on the paid tiers, and conversation intelligence is part of its feature table.

The contracting party is Fireflies.AI Corp., which gives 2802 Vizzolini Court, Pleasanton, California as its address.

Its terms, last updated on 28 September 2026, are governed by Delaware law with courts in New Castle County, and send most disputes to binding individual arbitration with a class-action waiver. The privacy policy says personal information is stored on servers in the United States and other countries, relies on the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Frameworks for transfers, and points to a subprocessor list on a separate trust site.

This page is about the sales and customer-team use: a bot or recorder in the call, notes that land in the CRM, and some view across many conversations. Eleven European tools do that, from a recorder with a permanent free plan to a French revenue-intelligence platform. They differ on whether a bot joins, which CRMs they name and how openly they price.

  • Your contract and any dispute sit in Delaware and arbitration The terms of Fireflies.AI Corp. choose Delaware law and the courts of New Castle County, and require individual arbitration for most disputes. The main text has no provisions specific to European customers and refers to a data processing addendum for organisations. If a customer, a works council or a regulator expects a contracting party in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, every tool below has one.
  • Recordings of your customers are stored in the US and elsewhere Fireflies says it stores personal information on servers in the United States and other countries, and uses the Data Privacy Frameworks and contractual clauses for transfers. The privacy policy does not state an EU-only option, and its subprocessor list is on a separate page. Several European tools here name their storage: tl;dv lists Google Cloud, Hetzner and Wasabi in the EU, Modjo says AWS Paris, Seedext says France, and Jamie says EU data centres.
  • The free plan limits what you can try with a team Fireflies has a free forever plan and publishes its paid prices, which is fair. Its "unlimited transcription" carries an asterisk, and CRM and app integrations are on the paid tiers. A European alternative that names its CRM syncs and starts free, such as tl;dv, MeetGeek, Claap or Noota, lets a sales team test the real workflow before buying seats.
  • Several European tools go further on sales coaching Modjo is built around conversation intelligence for revenue teams, with CRM auto-fill and coaching agents. Claap, now part of lemlist, scores deals and writes to the CRM. tl;dv offers sales coaching and playbooks. If what you actually use Fireflies for is the CRM and the pipeline, these are closer to the job than a general notetaker.

What you have to replace, not just match

Write down what your team uses Fireflies for: the bot joining external calls, the summary in Slack, the fields in HubSpot or Salesforce, the search across old meetings. Then check each of those against the tool you are considering, because the CRM integration is the part most likely to differ. MeetGeek names seven CRMs, Leexi names three, and Claap lists four on its Business plan.

Run the new tool on a few real calls next to Fireflies for a couple of weeks, and make sure the people you record are told. Export what you need first, and set a retention date for the old recordings, since the move does not delete them. Check the data processing terms of the new tool as well, and the instance or region you pick at sign-up.

the closest all-rounder, from Aachen

Aachen, GermanyFree forever plan with unlimited recordings and transcripts / paid plan prices not readable on the vendor pages

Best for: Revenue teams that want deal insights and CRM write-back from a free start

Claap's terms apply French law and name the Court of Paris. Its footer reads "Claap by lemlist". The terms we read do not name the company, so the registered entity is not confirmed here.

HubSpot, Salesforce, Attio and Pipedrive integrations come with Business and Enterprise, with transcripts in more than 99 languages.

What actually breaks when you switch

The CRM sync is the part most likely to break your process. Check which fields each tool writes, whether it matches contacts and deals the way Fireflies did, and which plan unlocks it. Several vendors keep CRM sync on the higher tiers, and Claap starts at €48 per licence.

Recording consent and bots are a people problem, not a software one. A bot-based tool announces itself, and a no-bot tool still needs you to tell the other side. Decide how you tell guests, and keep consent text in your invitations.

Hosting and AI are separate questions. A tool can store recordings in Europe and still send text to a US model provider. Read the subprocessor list, and check with a sales call that the summary and the CRM entry are as good as before.

Which of these joins the call as a bot, like Fireflies?

tl;dv, MeetGeek, Claap, Leexi and Wudpecker describe a notetaker that joins Zoom, Meet or Teams calls. Jamie captures audio on the device with no bot, Recapro describes a no-bot approach, and Meeting Metrics records in its desktop and mobile apps without a bot.

If external guests are uncomfortable with a visible bot, the no-bot tools are worth a trial. If your team relies on a bot joining automatically from the calendar, the bot-based ones are closer to Fireflies.

Which sync with my CRM?

MeetGeek lists HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Attio, Affinity and Close. Leexi names Salesforce, HubSpot and Pipedrive among more than 40 integrations. Claap lists HubSpot, Salesforce, Attio and Pipedrive on its Business and Enterprise plans. tl;dv, Modjo and Seedext name Salesforce, and tl;dv and Modjo name HubSpot as well. Wudpecker names HubSpot from its Plus plan, and Jamie lists Salesforce and HubSpot among its Pro features.

Check the exact fields written and which plan unlocks the sync before you commit, because several vendors keep it on a higher tier.

Is there a European tool for conversation intelligence rather than notes?

Modjo is the clearest case. It describes transcription in more than 100 languages, CRM auto-updates, business-signal detection and coaching agents for sales teams, and its terms are with a French company under French law and the Paris Commercial Court. Claap and Leexi also position themselves for sales conversations.

None of them is a copy of Fireflies. They differ on how analytics are presented, so ask for a trial with your own calls.

Does European hosting mean the AI step stays in Europe?

Not always. Modjo lists OpenAI and Microsoft among its AI subprocessors, each marked as EU. tl;dv says AI features may process transcripts in the US if the user selects that option. Wudpecker names the OpenAI API, and Meeting Metrics sends text to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and xAI outside its Enterprise plan. Leexi lists Mistral AI and Azure OpenAI in EU regions.

Read the subprocessor list as well as the hosting statement. Where the recording is stored and where the summary is written can be different companies.

Which one to pick

If you want the nearest replacement for Fireflies, start with tl;dv: a bot, a free forever plan, HubSpot and Salesforce, and a German contract. MeetGeek is the choice if you need many CRMs, as long as you pick the EU instance.

For a sales team that cares about coaching and pipeline, Modjo and Claap are the two to try, both French. Modjo is deeper and demo-led, Claap prints euro prices and starts free.

Choose Jamie if guests object to a bot, Recapro or Seedext if hosting in France or on your own server is the requirement, and Leexi if you want named CRMs with a European AI step. Treat Meeting Metrics and Wudpecker as narrower options.

Be realistic. Fireflies has a free forever plan, public prices and a broad set of integrations that few of these match, and none of the eleven imports your history. Switch if you need a European contracting party and clearer hosting.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the job. tl;dv is the closest all-rounder, with a bot, a free forever plan and HubSpot and Salesforce integrations from a German company. MeetGeek lists the most CRMs. Modjo is the choice for a sales team that wants conversation intelligence, and Jamie if you want no bot in the call.

No. Its terms name Fireflies.AI Corp., 2802 Vizzolini Court, Pleasanton, California, under Delaware law with courts in New Castle County. Most disputes go to binding individual arbitration with a class-action waiver.

Its privacy policy says it and its service providers store personal information on servers in the United States and other countries, and relies on the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Frameworks and contractual clauses for transfers. It does not state a region choice, and the subprocessor list is on a separate trust page that could not be checked for this page.

There is a free forever plan. On its pricing page Pro is listed at $18 a month or $10 a month billed annually, Business at $29 or $19, and Enterprise at $39 a month on annual billing only, all per seat. Prices can change, so check the page.

Claap lists Basic free, Pro at €24 and Business at €48 per licence a month on annual billing (€30 and €60 monthly). Jamie lists Free, Plus at €21 and Pro at €39 a month billed annually.

Leexi lists Starter at $12 and AI-Meeting at $23 per licence a month on an annual invoice, excluding VAT. MeetGeek lists Pro at $15.99 and Business at $27, with a free plan. Wudpecker lists Pro at $32. Modjo, Seedext and tl;dv publish no figure that could be read for this page.

tl;dv, MeetGeek, Claap, Jamie, Noota, Wudpecker and Recapro describe a free plan or free minutes. Leexi offers free trials on its paid tiers and Meeting Metrics and Seedext do not show a free plan. Modjo works through demos. Limits differ: Claap caps its free plan at 10 videos per user and 300 minutes in total, Jamie at 10 AI notes a month, and Recapro gives 300 minutes in total.

It depends on the instance. The EU instance is contracted with AIVISION PRODUCTS SRL in Buzău, Romania, with content stored in the EU under Romanian law. The US instance is MeetGeek US Infra, Inc. in Dover, Delaware. Its terms say which one applies, so choose the EU instance when you sign up.

Its site footer reads "Claap by lemlist", so it is part of lemlist, a French company already listed in this directory. Its terms apply French law with the Court of Paris. The terms we read do not name the company, so the registered entity could not be confirmed here.

Recapro offers a physical server on your own premises or French data centres, and Meeting Metrics keeps audio on servers in St. Gallen with local processing on its Enterprise plan. Seedext says all data is hosted exclusively in France. Modjo states AWS Paris and SOC 2 Type II. These are the vendors' own statements and a certificate or audit report should be requested.

There is no import path that we could verify, so plan to export the transcripts and any recordings you need and keep them in your own storage. New meetings go to the new tool, and old ones stay searchable only where you keep them.

For the main CRMs and chat tools, yes. tl;dv claims more than 5,000 integrations through connectors, and Leexi lists more than 40. Smaller vendors such as Wudpecker name only a handful. If you depend on a specific app, check it before you switch.
