European Alternatives to Profound
Looking for a European alternative to Profound? Profound is operated by Cooper Square Technologies Inc., and its privacy policy states that the services are hosted in the United States and intended for visitors located there. Its pricing page lists a 7-day trial and an Enterprise package at a custom price, so a small team cannot see a monthly cost before talking to sales.
The European tools below publish plan prices, are contracted with companies in Germany, Austria, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Slovakia or the UK, and track engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google's AI answers.
How we rank these tools — 4-step process
-
1
European ownership, verified
The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.
-
2
Category fit and hands-on review
What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.
-
3
Compliance and pricing check
GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.
-
4
Position on this page
Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects which tools are listed. Editorial policy

Key takeaways
- Profound publishes a free 7-day trial and a custom Enterprise package, but no monthly price.
- The Profound privacy policy says the services are hosted in the United States and intended for US visitors.
- Seven of the twelve European tools on this page print every plan price: Peec AI, OtterlyAI, Superlines, Qwairy, Promptwatch, Meteoria and Rankscale.
- The Profound trial covers three engines, while Promptwatch tracks all listed models on every paid plan.
- Sistrix, Mangools, Morningscore and Semji add AI visibility to an existing SEO or content subscription, which Profound does not.
Why people leave Profound
Profound is run by Cooper Square Technologies Inc., a US company that trades under the name Profound, according to its privacy policy.
The product measures how a brand shows up in answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and similar engines, and since its pricing page now leads with an "AI Marketer" that researches, writes and reports, it has widened from tracking into agent-style marketing work. Buyers in Europe usually meet it first because it is the name that comes up whenever AI search tracking is discussed.
The reasons to look past it are practical before they are political. The pricing page shows two columns: a free trial and a custom Enterprise package.
There is no monthly figure for a team of three that wants to track fifty prompts for a year, so the first real number arrives after a demo. The privacy policy adds that the services are hosted in the United States and intended for visitors located there, with transfers from the EEA and the UK resting on standard contractual clauses.
None of this makes the platform weak. Profound has the broadest feature list in the group on its Enterprise tier, and the European tools below mostly cover less. The question this page answers is narrower: which parts of that feature list a company actually uses, what it costs to do the same job with a contracting party in Germany, Austria, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Slovakia or the UK, and what has to be rebuilt when the dashboards move.
- No price until a demo The Enterprise column says "Custom" and "Tailored packages", and the only self-serve step is a trial. Peec AI, OtterlyAI, Superlines, Qwairy, Promptwatch, Meteoria and Rankscale print every tier with a number. A marketing lead who has to put a line in next year's budget can compare those seven in an afternoon, while Profound needs a sales conversation just to learn the order of magnitude.
- US hosting stated in the policy The privacy policy states that the services are hosted in the United States and aimed at visitors there. For a European company that feeds brand, competitor and prompt data into the platform, that is a transfer outside the EEA each time, covered by contractual clauses. The European vendors in this group are contracted under EU or UK law, although most of them do not state a data location on the pages we read.
- The trial is a narrow sample The trial runs 50 prompts daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, in one language and one region. The pricing table lists history, exports, API and support as "None", and a prompt set is recommended by Profound rather than edited by you. Those limits are normal for a trial, but they mean you only see the full product, including all-time history and CSV or JSON export, after signing the Enterprise contract.
- More platform than a tracking job needs Agents, Context Manager, Profound Sheets, shopping and prompt volume data all sit in the same package. A team that wants three numbers a week for a handful of competitors pays for a product built around marketing automation. The narrower European tools price the measurement part alone, from a $29 entry plan at OtterlyAI up to a few hundred euros or dollars a month for agencies.
What you have to replace, not just match
Moving off Profound means replacing five things, and only the first is the prompt tracker. The tracker itself is easy to rebuild: export or rewrite your prompt list, pick the engines, and let the new tool run daily. The second is the agent analytics layer, which reads AI crawler and referral traffic through integrations with Cloudflare, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, WordPress and Google Analytics. Promptwatch, Superlines, Qwairy and Meteoria each offer a version of this, with different depth.
The third is the prompt volume data, which estimates what people ask AI engines.
Of the European tools, Meteoria lists prompt volume data and OtterlyAI sells prompt research with query fan-out, so the function exists but with a smaller sample than a platform that sells it as a headline module. The fourth is the AI Marketer: agents, saved workflows and a brand knowledge base. Promptwatch and Trakkr ship writing or fix agents, Semji covers briefs and drafts, and the rest expect your own writers to act on the findings.
The fifth is history. Enterprise lists all-time history, and a team that has run Profound for a year holds data that no other vendor can import. Plan a clean cut: keep a CSV or JSON export of the old series, start the new tool in parallel for a month so the baselines overlap, and label the chart where the source changes. Nothing on the pages we read suggests that any of the European tools import Profound exports.

How each alternative compares to Profound
Best for: Marketing teams that want visibility, position and sentiment on a listed price, shared across many colleagues.
Peec AI is the most direct trade for the tracking half of Profound. You add your own prompts from the first plan, group them with tags and read visibility, position and sentiment against named competitors. Starter lists 50 prompts at $95 a month, the same prompt count as the Profound trial, but daily tracking and your own prompt list carry on past the first week.
Where Profound lists unlimited seats on both columns, Peec AI does too, so team size stays out of the price. The difference sits in the engines. Each self-serve plan lets you choose three models, and extras such as Perplexity or Grok are add-ons, so a full cross-engine view needs the Enterprise plan or a second tool.
What Peec AI does better than Profound
- Published prices from $95 a month, where Profound shows a custom Enterprise quote
- Custom prompts and daily tracking from the first paid plan
- Contracting party is a German GmbH with a stated imprint
- Looker Studio connector on Advanced for client reporting
Where Peec AI is a step down from Profound
- Three engines per plan against up to nine on Profound Enterprise
- No agents, prompt volume data or shopping module
- Prices are shown in US dollars and the data location is not stated
Standout against Profound. Unlimited users on every plan keep headcount out of the bill.
Best for: Solo marketers and small agencies testing AI search tracking with a few prompts before committing a budget.
OtterlyAI starts at $29 a month for 15 prompts, with ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot included. Set against the Profound trial, you get fewer prompts but no end date, and reports, brands and competitors are unlimited. Citation source tracking and a GEO audit sit in the same plan, which gives a small team something to act on.
The trade is reach. Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude cost extra, API and MCP access start at Standard ($189), and the tool is a monitor with audits, not an agent platform. Against Profound's Enterprise package it covers a small slice, but at a price you can read without a call.
What OtterlyAI does better than Profound
- Entry at $29 a month where Profound has no listed paid price
- Unlimited team members, reports and competitors on every plan
- GEO audit and crawlability audit included with tracking
- Austrian GmbH named in the imprint with a company register number
Where OtterlyAI is a step down from Profound
- Only 15 prompts on Lite, enough for one product in one market
- Gemini, AI Mode and Claude are paid add-ons
- No agent-style workflow like the Profound AI Marketer
Standout against Profound. It shows its whole price ladder, from 15 to 1,000 prompts, on one page.
Best for: Teams that budget in euros and want suggested tasks next to tracking results without a sales call.
Superlines prices in euros: €79 for Starter, €199 for Pro and €379 for Growth, with unlimited competitors on all three. Against Profound, the closest feature is the Action Center, which turns tracked data into suggested tasks, plus an article generator and a schema optimizer. The vendor says it collects answers from the real AI interfaces rather than API output, which is its own claim and not independently tested.
On engines, a self-serve plan lets you choose three from more than ten, so the same limit applies as with Peec AI. History is the other point to read: one month on Starter, two on Pro, six on Growth. A team that reports year on year needs Enterprise, as it would at Profound.
What Superlines does better than Profound
- Euro prices and a monthly figure visible before any call
- Action Center, article generator and schema optimizer in the plan table
- AI bot analytics and cookieless web tracking on every plan
- Contract with a Finnish company inside EU law
Where Superlines is a step down from Profound
- Three engines per self-serve plan, ten only on Enterprise
- One month of history on Starter and no exports there
- API access only from Growth, and data location not stated
Standout against Profound. It pairs euro pricing with an Action Center that builds tasks from the tracking data.
Best for: Agencies and multi-market brands that run the same prompts in several countries and languages.
Qwairy has no prompt cap. Each plan carries a credit budget instead, 2,500 on Starter at €79 and 30,000 on Business at €449, and tracking covers 240+ countries and 45+ languages on every plan. Where the Profound trial is fixed at one language and one region, this is the reverse: market breadth is the starting point.
The homepage marks each of around eighteen engines as read through the interface, an API or both, which tells you what a score is based on. The cost of that freedom is forecasting, because the engine and country mix changes how fast credits burn. The REST API starts at Growth, and Looker Studio plus crawler analytics need Business.
What Qwairy does better than Profound
- Languages and countries are not restricted, against one of each in the Profound trial
- Engines labelled as UI or API, so the data source is visible
- Free audit without an account and 120 free credits at sign-up
- French SAS with a SIREN number in the legal notice
Where Qwairy is a step down from Profound
- Credit use is harder to predict than a fixed prompt count
- Marketing website is hosted by a US provider, platform hosting not stated
- No prompt volume data or agent workspace comparable to Profound
Standout against Profound. No prompt limit exists, so cost depends only on how many engines and countries you query.
Best for: SEO teams in German-speaking and Romance-language markets who already work with the Visibility Index.
Sistrix is an SEO platform from Bonn, not a dedicated AI tracker. Its Visibility Index has been calculated weekly since 2008, and the site annotates Google updates on the chart. At the time we checked, the vendor described AI Visibility as a beta, free for 100 prompts, and we could not confirm paid pricing for that module.
That makes the comparison with Profound unusual. Sistrix offers far less on AI answers today, but it holds a sixteen-year view of classic search in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy and Spain that a pure AI tool cannot give. Plans run from EUR 119 to EUR 799 a month plus VAT, with German data hosting.
What Sistrix does better than Profound
- Weekly search visibility history back to 2008 for European markets
- German company with data hosted in Germany
- Published module prices from EUR 119 a month
- Google update annotations on every chart
Where Sistrix is a step down from Profound
- AI Visibility is a beta with no confirmed paid pricing
- No agents, shopping module or AI crawler analytics
- US data and backlink index are weaker than American SEO tools
Standout against Profound. It connects AI answers to a search-visibility record that begins in 2008.
Best for: Teams that want AI mentions linked to crawler visits and content drafts inside one tool.
Promptwatch comes nearest to the Profound feature set among the tools on this page. Every plan tracks all listed models, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, Meta AI, DeepSeek, Mistral and Amazon Alexa, and prices count responses next to prompts: 6,000 on Essential at $95, 42,000 on Business at $579.
AI crawler logs show which pages bots fetch, and content writing and refresh agents arrive at Professional. Business is sold through a demo, and its price makes it the highest self-serve tier in the group. Against Profound's custom Enterprise, you still see most of the ladder in advance.
What Promptwatch does better than Profound
- All models tracked on every plan, where the Profound trial has three
- Crawler logs, country tracking on every tier and city level on Business
- Response volume stated per plan, so sampling depth is visible
- Dutch B.V. named as controller in the terms
Where Promptwatch is a step down from Profound
- Business needs a demo and sits at $579 a month
- Content agents start at Professional, not Essential
- No Profound-style prompt volume dataset on the pages we read
Standout against Profound. Its crawler logs show which of your pages AI bots actually fetched.
Best for: French-speaking teams and agencies that need unlimited seats, brands and countries with euro pricing.
Meteoria prices by prompts run per day: 25 on Starter at €75, 100 on Pro at €175, 300 on Advanced at €420, and Enterprise from €700. Seats, countries, projects and brands are unlimited on all four. Against Profound, it is cheaper in published terms and lists prompt volume data, a content crawl and Google Analytics or Matomo links.
The site and pricing section are in French only, which counts for a non-French team. Every plan tracks three engines of your choice, 25 daily prompts on Starter is small, and API, MCP and SSO are reserved for Enterprise. The risk report and AI log analysis begin at Advanced.
What Meteoria does better than Profound
- Euro prices from €75 a month with Enterprise from €700
- Matomo integration alongside Google Analytics
- Unlimited seats, projects, brands and countries
- French SAS with an RCS Créteil number
Where Meteoria is a step down from Profound
- Interface and pricing pages are French only
- Three engines per plan and 25 daily prompts on Starter
- API and MCP only on Enterprise, SSO included
Standout against Profound. Matomo sits next to Google Analytics as a traffic link on every plan.
Best for: Agencies tracking many brands across markets who can manage a monthly credit budget.
Rankscale sells credits: 1,200 on Pro at $99, 3,000 on Pro+ at $229, 5,500 on Growth at $385 and 12,000 on Enterprise at $780. The site says 17+ engines come with no per-engine upsell, which is wider than the nine engines on the Profound Enterprise column.
Page audits check 94+ technical points on any URL, and query fan-out and prompt research tools sit beside the trackers. Recommendations and the GA4 link are marked beta, the company entered the Austrian register in July 2025, and credits make cost hard to forecast. White-label options exist from Growth.
What Rankscale does better than Profound
- Seventeen or more engines with no per-engine tier
- Published prices from $99 a month, Enterprise at $780
- Page audits and query fan-out tools in the same account
- White-label options for agencies on Growth
Where Rankscale is a step down from Profound
- Credit consumption is difficult to estimate before a trial
- Recommendations and GA4 connection are in beta
- Short track record since the July 2025 registration
Standout against Profound. It names 17+ engines with no per-engine tiers, and bills by credits instead.
Best for: Freelancers and small agencies who need keyword research and rank tracking first and AI tracking second.
Mangools is a Slovak suite of five SEO tools from CodeCat s.r.o. in Bratislava, with plans from about EUR 29 a month on annual billing and a 10-day free trial. The vendor has an AI Search Watcher page, but its price and limits could not be read in this check, so we compare Mangools with Profound only on what the tool page on this site confirms.
What Mangools does better than Profound
- Plans from about EUR 29 a month and a trial on the site
- Slovak company with EU data location
Where Mangools is a step down from Profound
- AI tracking depth, engines and limits are not verified here
Standout against Profound. Its plans start at about EUR 29 a month, with SEO as the main job and AI tracking secondary.
Best for: Small businesses that want rank tracking, backlinks and AI visibility in a single login.
Morningscore treats AI visibility as one module of a general SEO tool. A GEO Score, a Google AI Overviews tracker and an AI prompt tracker are included on all four plans, from $69 (Lite) to $299 (Premium), and an API comes with each plan. AI credits run from 100 to 20,000 and are shared with article generation.
The pages we read list no engines and no prompt caps beyond those credits, so it cannot match Profound on tracking depth. The vendor says its database is much smaller than Semrush, Ahrefs or Moz. In exchange you get missions-style task lists for owners who are not SEO specialists, and a 14-day trial without a card.
What Morningscore does better than Profound
- Full price list from $69, with a 14-day trial without a card
- API included on every plan
- Keyword, backlink and AI tracking billed as one subscription
- Danish ApS with a stated address in the terms
Where Morningscore is a step down from Profound
- No list of tracked engines on the pages we read
- AI tracking is secondary to SEO features
- Smaller database, by the vendor's own account
Standout against Profound. It folds AI visibility into a task-led SEO tool built for owners rather than specialists.
Best for: Brand and publisher content teams that want scoring, planning and AI visibility in one contract.
Semji covers the opposite end from Profound's trial: a content platform that scores drafts, plans topics, publishes to a CMS and then tracks mention and citation rates in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and DeepSeek. The vendor names Allianz, Otto, Randstad and Fox Sports as customers, and lists SOC 2 Type II.
Like Profound, it does not publish a price list. The quote depends on workspaces, markets and AI usage, and seats are part of the scope. That is a sales-led model of its own, so it does not solve the pricing transparency issue, and the platform is wide for a team that only wants a score. Data processing location is not stated.
What Semji does better than Profound
- Editor, planning and CMS drafts in the same platform as tracking
- Seats are not charged per head
- French SAS with SOC 2 Type II listed
- Engine coverage is part of the platform, not a per-model add-on
Where Semji is a step down from Profound
- No public price and no self-serve checkout
- Wider than a team needs if it only measures visibility
- Data processing location and website host (a US company) noted
Standout against Profound. It links a tracked AI mention to the page and the draft that produced it.
Best for: Brands that want suggested fixes pushed to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow or GitHub, not only a score.
Trakkr is a UK service, which sits outside the EEA under an adequacy decision, and it started in 2025. Growth costs $100 a month for one brand and 50 prompts, checked daily on eight models, with three seats. Each extra brand adds $50, and Scale at $500 covers ten brands with client portals.
Its Fixes feature turns a gap in an AI answer into a proposed change and tracks the effect, which comes closer to the Profound agents than a plain tracker. The terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, but the pages we read do not name a registered company, so the contracting party could not be confirmed.
What Trakkr does better than Profound
- Eight models checked daily on every plan
- Fixes publish to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow or GitHub
- Free site grader, query scanner and llms.txt generator
- Free 90-day plan on the Managed tier
Where Trakkr is a step down from Profound
- Registered entity not named on terms or privacy pages
- Per-brand pricing makes agency use costly on Growth
- Short track record, started in 2025, and UK rather than EU jurisdiction
Standout against Profound. It pairs daily tracking with proposed page fixes that go straight to a site.
What actually breaks when you switch
The first thing that breaks is the baseline. Every vendor samples answers differently, with its own prompt timing, engine versions and parsing of mentions, so a visibility score of 38 in one tool is not the same number in another. Treat the switch date as a break in the series. If Profound Enterprise is still active, run both tools for a month, compare relative movement against competitors, and only then retire the old dashboard.
The second break is access and automation. Profound lists SSO/SAML, a CSV and JSON export and an API on Enterprise.
Among the European tools, Meteoria reserves API, MCP and SSO for its Enterprise tier, Superlines starts the API at Growth, Qwairy at Growth, and Rankscale at Pro+. Reporting connections to Looker Studio exist at Peec AI Advanced, Qwairy Business and Meteoria Advanced. Check the contract term too: the pages we read do not say how Profound handles notice periods, so ask before you plan a cut-over date.
Do I need Enterprise to see what Profound can do?
Not to see the interface, since the pricing page offers a free trial, but the trial is built as a sampler. It runs fifty unique prompts for seven days across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and the pricing table shows no history, exports, API, SSO or support on that tier. Editing the prompt list is an Enterprise feature, so the trial tests the vendor's suggested prompts for your industry, not your own.
A fair test of the alternatives is therefore easier. Peec AI, OtterlyAI, Superlines, Qwairy, Promptwatch and Rankscale list paid plans from day one, and several offer demos or trials as well. If your question is "does tracking in this category work for my brand", a European tool at a published price answers it with your own prompts, before any contract talk.
Does the US hosting statement change what I can legally do?
It does not forbid using the platform. The privacy policy sets out legal bases for EEA and UK users and relies on standard contractual clauses for transfers to the United States. What it changes is paperwork: a European company should note the transfer in its records and check the vendor's data processing terms, which sit outside the pages we read.
For tracking public brand and prompt data the exposure is limited, because the inputs are mostly your brand name, competitors and questions. It grows if you connect analytics or server logs through the agent analytics integrations. A vendor under EU law, such as the Berlin, Vienna or Helsinki companies on this page, shortens that conversation, although most of them also leave their platform data location unstated.
Which one to pick
For a team replacing the tracking function alone, start with Peec AI, OtterlyAI or Superlines. Peec AI suits many colleagues on a listed price, OtterlyAI suits a first test at $29, and Superlines suits an euro budget with an action list. Choose Promptwatch when crawler logs and content agents matter, Qwairy or Rankscale when you track many countries or brands and can manage credits, and Meteoria for a French-speaking team.
Keep Profound if your team depends on its agents, prompt volume data and all-time history, and a US-hosted service with contractual clauses is acceptable to your data protection officer. Choose Sistrix, Morningscore or Mangools when AI tracking is an addition to SEO work, and Semji when the real problem is the editorial workflow. Trakkr fits teams that want fixes shipped, with the caveat that its legal entity is not named.
Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on the job. For plain brand visibility tracking at a published price, Peec AI, OtterlyAI, Superlines and Promptwatch are the closest matches. For agencies with many markets, Qwairy and Rankscale scale with credits. If AI tracking should sit inside an SEO subscription, look at Sistrix, Morningscore or Mangools; for content teams, Semji adds scoring and planning. No European tool copies the full Enterprise package.
The pricing page shows no monthly figure: a free trial and a custom Enterprise quote. The European tools publish theirs. OtterlyAI starts at $29, Meteoria at €75, Superlines and Qwairy at €79, Peec AI and Promptwatch at $95, Rankscale at $99, Trakkr at $100. Compare plans by prompts, engines and history, since credits and response counts are not the same unit.
The pages we read do not describe an import path in any of the twelve European tools. Profound lists CSV and JSON export on Enterprise, so you can keep the old series as files. Most teams run the new tool next to the old one for a month, note the date of the switch on their reporting charts, and treat the two series as separate.
Profound lists up to nine engines on Enterprise, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude and Google AI Overviews. Promptwatch tracks all of its listed models on every plan, and Rankscale names 17 or more. Peec AI, Superlines and Meteoria limit a self-serve plan to three engines, and OtterlyAI sells Gemini, AI Mode and Claude as add-ons.
Not one tool covers everything. Promptwatch adds content writing and refresh agents from its Professional plan, Trakkr publishes suggested fixes to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow or GitHub, and Semji drafts into your CMS. Each covers part of the workflow. Teams that used Profound mostly for reporting will not miss the agents; teams that built daily agent workflows around it should test the overlap in a trial first.
