Digital Samba

Digital Samba, S.L. has been at Travessera de Gràcia 98 bis in Barcelona since 2003, which makes it one of the oldest companies in this guide, and it sells two things: a video conferencing product with a free plan, and an embeddable API charged from €0.0026 per participation minute with the first 10,000 minutes each month free.

That is the same shape as eyeson's pricing and the opposite of a per-seat licence — a product that embeds video can ship, get real users and still pay nothing in a quiet month.

The subprocessor annex to the Embedded DPA is unusually specific, and every entry in it is European: Leaseweb Deutschland in Frankfurt, Leaseweb Netherlands in Amsterdam, Scaleway in France, Exoscale in Switzerland, and GreenPT in Utrecht for speech to text. Transcription is where most video platforms quietly reach for an American AI service, so it is worth noting that this one does not.

The honest exception is HubSpot in the United States, which Digital Samba uses as an optional component for support tickets and feedback forms; the DPA states that business customers can exclude it and keep processing entirely European, but it is a switch you have to throw rather than the default.

Digital Samba publishes no ISO 27001 or comparable independent certification, the code is not open, the legal information page gives no company registration number, and the pricing page does not say whether the per-minute rate includes VAT.
