Best for: People insured in Germany who want a covered video appointment and a digital sick note from home
TeleClinic is a Munich service that books video appointments in which a doctor can, where medically justified, issue an e-prescription or a digital sick note. The intake starts with a few symptom questions, then a slot, then the call, and documents land in the app afterwards. The vendor describes itself as a service platform and not as a doctor, medical care centre or pharmacy.
TeleClinic GmbH was founded in 2015 and is entered in the commercial register at the Amtsgericht Muenchen. Its about page lists statutory coverage from 2020, e-prescriptions from 2022 and the eAU sick note from 2023, and counts more than 6.0 million treatments and about 7,000 treating doctors, which are vendor claims. Hosting is not stated on the pages checked, although a TUEV Saarland certification is cited.
What TeleClinic does well
- Statutory health insurers pay for the visit
- Doctors can issue e-prescriptions and the digital sick note (eAU)
- The call runs through a separately certified video module
- A GmbH with an imprint and a commercial register number
- The vendor states a pool of about 7,000 treating doctors
Where TeleClinic falls short
- Works in practice only for patients treated under German rules
- Whether a prescription or sick note is justified is the doctor's decision
- A private prescription is paid for in full by the patient
- The pages checked do not say where data is hosted
Standout feature. TeleClinic is the only service here that bills German statutory insurers for a video visit and delivers the eAU sick note in the same app.

Qare is a French teleconsultation service where patients either join a queue for the next doctor, usually under 30 minutes according to the site, or book a slot. Beyond general practice the site lists paediatricians, psychiatrists, gynaecologists, psychologists and dentists.
Qare (SAS) was created in April 2017 inside the Kamet incubator and joined the HealthHero group in April 2021, a relationship that comes from its own timeline. The RCS Paris number is 823 634 910. The legal notice names AWS EMEA SARL in Luxembourg as a certified health-data host, which makes Qare one of the few services here to state its hosting.
What Qare does well
- A general-practice tariff of 25 EUR is shown before you confirm
- Assurance Maladie reimburses 70% inside the care pathway
- Doctors are available seven days a week, 6am to midnight

- Qare is one brand inside the HealthHero group
Standout feature. Qare is the only service here that publishes a reimbursed general-practice tariff in euros, with the reimbursement percentage next to it.

Best for: Swiss insured people on a telemedicine-first plan, and Swiss institutions that need an on-call doctor team
Medgate is an Allschwil telemedicine centre that patients reach by phone or app, with the same medical service on either channel according to its FAQ. The company page names more than 150 employed doctors and an in-house IT team of about 30 who build the central software. A kids line staffed by a paediatric team trained for telemedicine is part of the service.
Medgate AG says it has run a telemedical doctors' centre since 2000 and created Switzerland's first Telmed insurance model in 2003 with partners. Its partner page lists modular solutions for insurers, pharmacies, practices, hospitals and cantons. Switzerland sits outside the EEA under an adequacy decision, and the pages checked show no prices, founding year or hosting location.
What Medgate does well
- More than 150 doctors are employed by the company
- Phone and app deliver the same medical service
- Medgate Connect links sensor diagnostics to a pharmacy
- Solutions are developed together with insurers and cantons
- The central software is written in house
Where Medgate falls short
- Access depends on a Swiss insurance model
- Only about half of patients can be treated fully remotely, per the FAQ
- The app wants a stable internet connection
- No prices appear on the pages checked
Standout feature. Medgate is the only service here that lets hospitals hand over their telephone line and cantons their on-call medical service to its doctor team.

Clinicians can offer prescriptions, fit notes and open referrals where they consider them relevant.
Doctor Care Anywhere Limited is named in the privacy policy, though no registered address or company number was seen. It sells to individuals through appointments and a Care Pass membership, and to employers through DCA Core and DCA Protect. - A GP can be seen in as little as an hour at any time of day
- Physiotherapy, mental health and weight management share one account
- Employer, broker and membership routes exist
- Prescriptions, fit notes and referrals are offered where the clinician sees fit
Where Doctor Care Anywhere falls short
- Paid privately or by an employer, not through a public scheme
- A photo ID check comes before each appointment
- No refund when you cancel inside 12 hours
- UK law applies, with an EU adequacy decision rather than membership
Standout feature. Doctor Care Anywhere is the only service here that advertises a GP within about an hour at a pound price stated up front.
Malmo, Sweden
See the website; the pages checked quote no fee
Demo on request
Best for: People in Sweden who would rather describe their problem in writing than book a live call
Min Doktor handles care in writing first: you pick a category, log in with BankID, answer the form questions and send the case, and a clinician replies in a chat that notifies you by email. The roster includes psychologists, midwives, physiotherapists, sexologists, dietitians and nurses beside doctors, and children are accepted from six months of age.
MD International AB, organisation number 556934-0580, sits at Norra Vallgatan 64 in Malmo according to the privacy policy. The site cites more than 5 million patient visits and 95% satisfaction, both vendor claims. Medicine from a prescription can go to your home via Apotek Hjartat, and the same brand runs vaccination clinics and primary care centres. No fee list was read.
What Min Doktor does well
- A written questionnaire suits non-urgent problems
- Beyond doctors the roster has psychologists, midwives and dietitians
- Children are accepted from six months
- A prescription can be delivered home through Apotek Hjartat
- The brand also runs vaccination clinics and care centres
Where Min Doktor falls short
- A BankID is required
- Writing back and forth is slower than live video when something is urgent
- Anything needing an exam or sampling becomes a referral or a visit
- The pages checked quote no fee
Standout feature. Min Doktor is the only service here whose front door is a written questionnaire that a clinician answers in chat, not a video appointment.

- No hosting location is stated
Standout feature. Doktor.se is the only service here that attaches 27 registrable care centres of the same brand to a no-booking chat and video app.
Barcelona, Spain
Patients see a fixed price per service; software and insurer pricing is quoted on request

Best for: Insurers, hospitals and employers wanting a branded telemedicine layer, and Spanish patients wanting a fixed price
mediQuo runs a two-sided business: its own panel sells consultations to patients, and the same system is licensed as software to insurers, hospitals and companies. The homepage cites more than 300 professionals across more than 22 specialities, and eight services with fixed prices, including general medicine, skin health, anxiety and insomnia, and 50-minute therapy sessions.
The legal notice names MEDIPREMIUM SERVICIOS MEDICOS, S.L., entered in the Barcelona commercial register. The partner software lists scheduling, video, a medical record, an approved e-prescription and AI generation features, and the company says it holds ISO/IEC 27001 and is audited against the GDPR. It lists offices in seven Latin American countries, and its consultation totals differ between pages.
What mediQuo does well
- A panel of its own, covering 22 or more specialities
- Patients see a fixed price for each service
- White-label software with scheduling, medical record and e-prescription
- The company states ISO/IEC 27001
- The legal notice names a Spanish entity in the Barcelona register
Where mediQuo falls short
- The patient offer is in Spanish
- Software prices are given only on request

- The hosting region is not stated
Standout feature. mediQuo is the only service here that pairs its own medical panel with licensable white-label software and a stated ISO/IEC 27001.
Estepona, Spain

Best for: Insurers, clinics and companies in Spain adding a telemedicine service or software of their own
Docline is a business offer with two parts: Docline 360, a customisable cloud SaaS with more than 15 functions including video consultation, medical chat, patient management and a private approved e-prescription, and a digital hospital with general medicine and paediatrics around the clock. The e-prescription reaches the patient by email and SMS so the pharmacy can identify the medicine.
Aplicaciones Salud SL, tax number B93388700, has its registered address in Estepona, Malaga, according to the legal notice. Industry pages address insurers, hospitals and clinics, companies and care homes. Pages disagree on panel size, quoting 5,000 professionals on one and 3,000 specialists on another, so no figure is used here. Hosting and certifications are not stated.
What Docline does well
- One vendor supplies both the platform and the medical team
- A private approved e-prescription route by email and SMS
- Deployment can be modular or global
- General medicine and paediatrics run all day and night
- The legal notice names a Spanish company and tax number
Where Docline falls short
- No prices are published
- Aimed at organisations, so little for an individual patient
- Panel and speciality numbers differ from page to page
- Hosting and certifications are not stated
Standout feature. Docline is the only service here whose public pages address care homes as well as insurers, clinics and companies.
Paris, France
Charged to each practitioner as a monthly subscription; booking is free for patients
Demo on request
Best for: Patients and practices in France or Germany who book through one practitioner directory
Doctolib is a French booking network of independent practitioners, and video consultation is one visit type next to in-person appointments. It does not staff an on-call team, so on this list it is the least like Teladoc Health. A dedicated page describes quick access to a practitioner for advice, test results and treatment adjustments, though that page renders client-side and few details were visible.
Doctolib SAS is registered in Nanterre under number 794 598 813, with its registered office in Levallois-Perret. The legal notice says the company is certified HDS, hosts health data on AWS in Luxembourg (also HDS certified) and does not use health data for marketing, advertising or statistics. Patients book free of charge, and practitioners pay a subscription that is not published.
What Doctolib does well
- Patients already search for and book practitioners there
- Practice tools sit alongside online booking
- Reminders sent automatically help reduce no-shows
- Video consultation is available as a visit type
- HDS certified hosting is named in the legal notice
- French company under EU jurisdiction
Where Doctolib falls short
- Covers healthcare only and is not a general scheduling tool
- How useful the network is depends on your country
- Practitioners pay a monthly subscription
- Practices grow dependent on the platform once patients book through it
Standout feature. Doctolib is the only service here that lists independent practitioners and lets each decide whether to offer video, so no doctors are employed.
