Detailed Review
Qare was created in April 2017 inside the Kamet start-up incubator and joined the HealthHero group in April 2021, according to its own timeline. The company is a French SAS registered in Paris.
On the site, patients either join a queue for the next available doctor, usually in under 30 minutes, or book a slot. Doctors consult seven days a week from 6am to midnight, and the page states that its doctors are registered with the Ordre des medecins.
A tariff you can read in advance
The FAQ says a general-practice video consultation is billed at 25 EUR at the conventioned tariff, with a possible surcharge depending on time of day or medical situation. The exact amount is shown before the patient confirms.
Assurance Maladie reimburses 70% inside the coordinated care pathway, and a complementary insurer may cover the rest.
Paperwork at the end of the call
Prescriptions and certificates are emailed automatically and also kept in the patient space of the app. A doctor can issue a work stoppage if the condition justifies it; when the consulted doctor is not the patient's own, the stoppage is limited to three days.
Children can be seen when a parent or guardian stays present for the exchange.
Specialists and programmes
Beyond general medicine, the site lists paediatricians, psychiatrists, gynaecologists, psychologists and dentists, plus Qare Mind and Qare Shape programmes. Sector 2 doctors and other professionals show their sector and fee before booking.
The legal notice names AWS EMEA SARL in Luxembourg as host, certified for health data.
Limitations to Consider
Qare is built around the French insurance system, so the 70% reimbursement and the work stoppage rules apply to patients covered in France.
A missed appointment can cost a flat 10 EUR, and a work stoppage from a doctor who is not your own is limited to three days. Physical examinations still need a visit in person, and the doctor refers you on when one is required. The group is now part of HealthHero, so Qare is one brand among several. Sector 2 fees can be higher than the 25 EUR tariff.
Who Should Use Qare
People covered by the French health system who want a reimbursed generalist or specialist video visit outside office hours.
