Detailed Review
Vetera GmbH is registered at Amtsgericht Wiesbaden under HRB 28209 with its seat at Große Hub 1 in Eltville am Rhein. A 10 March 2022 news item from Nordhealth says the company was founded in 1989, then served more than 2,000 practices in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and was being acquired by Nordhealth. The Vetera homepage today quotes about 18,000 users.
Its structure is the closest in this list to an installed system such as Cornerstone: the software is set up on practice computers or a server, and the database is Microsoft SQL Server 2019.
Modules and workflow
The function pages cover appointment and resource planning, patient and client records, accounting, stock, statistics and management reports, an image order and archive system (PACS), and connections to internal and external labs. The site separates tailored views for small-animal, equine, farm-animal, clinic, multi-branch and university settings.
Digital functions include a waiting room that registers clients by QR code and calls them by push message, online appointment booking that syncs with the calendar, automated client messages and video consultation.
Technology and requirements
The software-technology page lists REST, Swagger and SOAP interfaces, IIS 10.0 for web applications and compatibility with Hyper-V and VMware. The system requirements page asks for Windows 10 or later, an Intel Core i7, at least 16 GB of memory and 40 GB of free disk, and it recommends a Windows or remote-desktop server once more than five workstations are used.
A mobile station for house calls syncs back to the main workstation, and the VeteraSky add-on opens key functions on mobile devices.
Group and support
The career menu links to Nordhealth, the group behind Provet Cloud, so the two products now share an owner. The homepage stresses telephone support with expert staff rather than contact forms.
Limitations to Consider
Judged from Vetera's pages, not from hands-on use. It is installed software that needs Windows hardware and, for larger teams, a server, so it is less of a cloud service than other entries. No prices are published, the interface and site are in German, and the ownership by the same group as Provet means the two are not independent choices.
Who Should Use Vetera
Fits German, Austrian and Swiss clinics and groups that want an installed system with open interfaces. Teams wanting a browser-only service can compare inBehandlung and VetNative.
