European Alternatives to Microsoft Dynamics 365
Looking for a European alternative to Microsoft Dynamics 365? Its mid-market ERP, Business Central, is sold by Microsoft Corporation of Redmond, Washington, whose privacy statement names it as data controller, with Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited added for the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and it is priced in US dollars per user through partners.
Eleven European tools cover the job for small and mid-sized companies: general ERP and finance suites, a trade and e-commerce ERP, open-source systems and ERPs for manufacturers, from companies in Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, the Netherlands and Poland.
How we rank these tools — 4-step process
-
1
European ownership, verified
The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.
-
2
Category fit and hands-on review
What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.
-
3
Compliance and pricing check
GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.
-
4
Position on this page
Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

Why people leave Microsoft Dynamics 365
Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a family of business applications, and for small and mid-sized companies the part that matters is Business Central: one system for finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, projects and, on the Premium plan, service management and manufacturing.
On Microsoft's US pricing page it costs $80 per user a month for Essentials, $110 for Premium and $8 for a Team Members licence, paid yearly, and the page tells you to contact a partner to buy it. A 30-day free trial is offered.
The company behind it is Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, Washington. Its privacy statement names Microsoft Corporation as data controller and, for people in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited.
Microsoft also runs an EU Data Boundary that covers Dynamics 365: if the customer's billing address is in an EU Data Boundary country and the environment is configured for it, customer data is stored and processed inside the EU, with a short list of documented exceptions. So this is not a case of no EU hosting. It is a case of an American parent, a US-dollar price list and a partner-led buying process.
This page is for companies that would rather have a European supplier for their ERP. Eleven qualify, and they are very different: general ERP suites, a trade and e-commerce ERP, open-source systems, a finance suite built around accountants and ERPs for manufacturers.
- The supplier is American, even if the data can stay in the EU Microsoft Corporation of Redmond is the data controller named in the privacy statement, and the EU Data Boundary commitments come with documented cases where data still leaves the boundary. The same statement says data is typically stored in your region or in the United States. If your reason to look elsewhere is that you want the supplier, not only the server, to be European, none of that changes with a configuration option.
- You buy through a partner, and the list price is in dollars Microsoft's pricing page lists Business Central at $80 and $110 per user a month and says to contact a partner to purchase. The prices shown can vary by market, and the final amount depends on your partner. Several European tools here publish euro prices you can read before you speak to anyone: Odoo, weclapp, Axelor, Xentral and DoliCloud.
- The real cost is the implementation, not the licence An ERP changeover is a project of months, and the licence is only one line in it. Odoo's own plan page says implementation services are not included in its plans, and Business Central is sold and set up by partners. When comparing, ask for the licence, the implementation estimate and the annual partner support in one quote.
- Business Central is built for a middle that not everyone sits in Business Central is a general mid-market ERP with a large partner network and tight links to Microsoft 365. A five-person shop selling online, a 15-person consultancy and a machine builder have different needs, and the European tools are more specialised: weclapp and Xentral lean to trade, Scopevisio to services, proALPHA and myfactory to manufacturing, Dolibarr and Odoo to being modular and cheap to start.
What you have to replace, not just match
Start with a short list of what the ERP has to do on day one: the chart of accounts and VAT rules in your country, e-invoicing, stock and purchasing, projects or time recording, and which other systems (bank, webshop, payroll) it must talk to. Run the same ten real scenarios through two or three trials, rather than comparing feature lists. Odoo, Uniconta, Scopevisio, weclapp, Xentral and DoliCloud all offer a trial or a free tier.
Plan the migration as a data project. Export customers, suppliers, items, open orders and the opening balances from Dynamics, clean them, and load them into the new system before you switch. Run old and new in parallel for one closing period, keep the old system read-only for as long as your country's retention rules require, and agree the implementation partner's scope and price before you sign a licence.
The alternatives compared

How each alternative compares to Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Which law reaches it. EU (Belgium). Microsoft Dynamics 365 is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
- Where the data sits. EU hosting (Odoo Online) or your own servers.
- Source code. Open source, where Microsoft Dynamics 365 is not: you can read what it does rather than take the description on trust.
Best for: Small and mid-sized companies that want one modular system and are happy to work with a partner
Odoo's subscription agreement (version 13, dated 24 September 2026) is with Odoo SA and its affiliates, and is subject to Belgian law with the Nivelles Business Court as the exclusive forum. Customers can use an Odoo Partner or Odoo SA directly.
Its pricing page lists a Free plan with one app and unlimited users, a Standard plan at €19.90 per user a month on yearly billing, and a Custom plan at €35.90 that adds Odoo.sh or on-premise hosting, Studio, multi-company and the external API. Light users are €7.90. Standard and Custom include all apps, among them accounting, CRM, inventory, HR, project, point of sale and eCommerce.
The plans do not include implementation services or hosting on Odoo.sh for custom developments. Supporting an ERP project still means paying a partner or building the skill in-house.
What Odoo does better than Microsoft Dynamics 365
- A free one-app plan and published euro prices, where Business Central routes you to a partner
- One licence covers all apps on the Standard and Custom plans
- Belgian company under Belgian law, a court in Belgium
- Open-source Community Edition as an alternative to the paid version
Where Odoo is a step down from Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Implementation is not included in any plan
- Not tied into Microsoft 365 the way Business Central is
- Custom features need Studio or a partner and add upgrade work
- Plans do not include Odoo.sh hosting for custom developments or in-app purchase credits
Standout against Microsoft Dynamics 365. It is the only tool here with both a free plan and a published all-apps price per user.
- Which law reaches it. EU (Germany). Microsoft Dynamics 365 is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
- Where the data sits. Germany.
- Source code. Closed source, as Microsoft Dynamics 365 is.
- Independently checked. ISO 27001 certified hosting.
Best for: SMEs in trade, services and e-commerce that want a cloud ERP with bundled prices
weclapp GmbH, Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 28 in Kitzingen, is registered at the Frankfurt am Main court under HRB 129744. The general terms apply German law, with Marburg as the place of performance and the place of jurisdiction.
Its pricing page offers three bundles: ERP Starter at €39 per user a month (contacts, quotes and invoices, tasks, accounting and banking, reporting, e-invoicing, bookable monthly only), ERP Services with CRM, orders, projects, time tracking and API access, and ERP Trade with merchandise management, purchasing and warehouse. The page has two views of the prices: €39, €86 and €163 in one, €39, €95 and €179 in the other, and each plan has a free trial.
The Starter bundle cannot be combined with the others, so you pick the bundle that matches your largest requirement.
What weclapp does better than Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Per-user bundles with the price on the page
- Free trial on every bundle
- German company with a German-law contract and a German forum
- Modules for trade, purchasing and warehouse in one product
Where weclapp is a step down from Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Production sits in the Trade bundle, the most expensive one
- Two sets of prices on one page need reading carefully
- Not part of the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystem
- Starter is monthly only and cannot be combined
Standout against Microsoft Dynamics 365. The three bundles map to a growing company: start at Starter, move to Services or Trade as you grow.
Axelor
an open-source ERP platform with a free edition and clear per-user pricing
Best for: Companies that want an open-source base, with a French supplier behind it
Axelor's legal notice gives 23 rue Alfred Nobel in Champs-sur-Marne, and the French register lists a company called AXELOR (SIREN 480879733) at that address. Its sales and licence terms apply French law and name the commercial court of Meaux.
It lists three editions: Community (free, open-source platform with the essential modules), Pro (€35 per user a month, from 10 users, all business modules, updates and e-invoicing) and Enterprise (€55 per user a month, from 20 users, with an AI module, advanced BI and single sign-on). It states ISO 27001 certification and a certified e-invoicing platform.
The paid editions have user minimums of 10 and 20, so Axelor is not aimed at a team of three.
What Axelor does better than Microsoft Dynamics 365
- A free open-source Community edition
- Published euro prices for Pro and Enterprise
- French company under French law, with a French forum
- All business modules included in Pro rather than licensed one by one
Where Axelor is a step down from Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Minimum of 10 users on Pro and 20 on Enterprise
- Fewer public details on third-party integrations than Business Central's ecosystem
- The ISO and e-invoicing claims are its own and not checked here
- Microsoft 365 integration is not described on the pricing page
Standout against Microsoft Dynamics 365. It combines an open-source community edition with commercial per-user editions that include all modules.
Best for: E-commerce and trade companies with marketplace and shipping integrations
Xentral's imprint names Xentral ERP Software GmbH, Viktoriastraße 3b in Augsburg, registered at the Augsburg district court under HRB 23930.
Its pricing page lists Launch from €99 a month for startups with up to €500,000 in revenue (€0.30 per order, at most 1,200 orders a year), Starter from €349 for 500 orders a month, Business from €649 and Pro from €849. Unlimited users and a service package are included from Starter. Features include online-store and marketplace integrations, inventory, shipping providers, delivery notes, a customer database, invoices, DATEV export and, from Business, accounts payable, purchase orders, time tracking and API access.
Pricing is tied to order volume, so a business with many small orders will move up the tiers faster than one with few large orders.
What Xentral does better than Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Plan prices are published and users are unlimited from Starter
- Marketplace, shipping and DATEV integrations for online sellers
- German company with a register entry
- Free trial on Starter and Business
Where Xentral is a step down from Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Built around trade and e-commerce, with no production planning in the tables I read
- Order-based limits on the lower plans
- Narrower than Business Central for services or projects
- DATEV export points to a German bookkeeping focus
Standout against Microsoft Dynamics 365. It prices by order volume, not by user.
Best for: Consultancies, IT firms and other service businesses
Scopevisio AG, Konrad-Zuse-Platz 7 in Bonn, is registered at the Bonn court under HRB 15257. Its homepage offers a 30-day trial and lists ISO 27001, a C5 attestation and "ERP-System des Jahres 2025" as its own credentials.
It licenses by named user and enables modules only where they are needed. The pricing page shows example set-ups rather than a price list, for instance a consultancy with 10 users on the platform plus billing management and project management at €665 net a month (about €2.20 per named user a day).
There is no flat list price, so you will need to configure your own quote.
What Scopevisio does better than Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Strong on billing management and project accounting for service firms
- 30-day trial
- Named-user licensing with modules enabled per user
- An AG with a Bonn register entry and a published security attestation
Where Scopevisio is a step down from Microsoft Dynamics 365
- No simple price list, only examples
- Aimed at service businesses, so check production and warehouse needs separately
- Site and examples are German first, with an English option
- The credentials listed are its own statements
Standout against Microsoft Dynamics 365. The pricing page shows what a 10-user consultancy would pay, which is more concrete than most ERP vendors manage.
Uniconta
a Danish cloud ERP sold through a large partner network
Best for: Businesses that want a cloud ERP with local partner support in the Nordics, Germany or the Netherlands
Uniconta A/S is a Danish aktieselskab (CVR 33266928, Ørestads Boulevard 73, Copenhagen) according to the Danish company register mirror cvrapi.dk. Its site offers a 30-day free trial and a region selector with Denmark, Iceland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Switzerland, Norway and Great Britain.
Modules include general ledger, orders and purchase, inventory and logistics, projects, production, dashboards, business rules and customisation. There are companion apps for invoices, receipts, project management and time recording, and a developer API.
I could not find a price on the pages I opened, and the governing law is not stated there either, so neither is quoted here.
What Uniconta does better than Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Production, projects and inventory in one cloud ERP
- A 30-day trial
- Danish company in the CVR register
- A developer API and an add-on store
Where Uniconta is a step down from Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Price not shown on its own site in text I could read
- Governing law and terms could not be checked
- Sold through resellers, so support comes from the partner you choose
- Available in the listed regions only
Standout against Microsoft Dynamics 365. It is sold through a partner model close to Business Central's, with a Danish supplier behind it.
Dolibarr
a lightweight open-source ERP and CRM with cheap hosting in France
Best for: Freelancers, small companies and associations that want a simple, extensible system
Dolibarr is open-source software maintained by the Dolibarr association, a French association registered in Olivet. Hosted plans are sold by DoliCloud, a company under French law at 14 B Rue Razon in Pessac, registered at the Bordeaux RCS (SIRET 49386149600054). DoliCloud's terms are governed by French law and send disputes with business customers to a court in Paris.
DoliCloud lists Dolibarr Basic at €14 per user a month and Premium from €45 a month, each with a 30-day free trial. The project says you can enable only the modules you need, extend it with a marketplace of add-ons and a module builder, and move to self-hosting later.
I did not test its depth for multi-company finance or manufacturing, so check those in a trial before you commit.
What Dolibarr does better than Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Free and open source, with a trial of hosted plans
- Low price per user for hosted plans
- French law and a European host
- You can move to self-hosting without a vendor change
Where Dolibarr is a step down from Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Depth for multi-company finance and manufacturing was not checked
- Specific needs are met with add-ons and the module builder
- Most advanced features rely on add-ons and partners
- Two entities: the association for the code and DoliCloud for hosting
Standout against Microsoft Dynamics 365. It has the lowest paid per-user price on this page, with an open-source exit.
- Which law reaches it. EU (Netherlands). Microsoft Dynamics 365 is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
- Where the data sits. Netherlands.
- Source code. Closed source, as Microsoft Dynamics 365 is.
Best for: Dutch and Belgian SMEs that work with an accountant or an Exact partner
Exact's privacy statement names Exact B.V., registered in the Netherlands under number 27225828, at Molengraaffsingel 33 in Delft. Its terms page lists conditions by country and product, including Exact Online, Exact Globe and Exact Synergy.
Its English site groups products into finance, HRM, CRM, international business, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, project management and business management, and says more than 675,000 companies use its software (its own figure).
I could not find a price list or a trial on the pages that opened, so no figure is quoted. In practice you will speak to a partner.
What Exact does better than Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Dutch company with a visible register number
- Finance and accountant integration is its core
- Products for manufacturing and wholesale as well as finance
- A partner finder for Exact Online and Exact Globe
Where Exact is a step down from Microsoft Dynamics 365
- No public prices on the pages I could open
- No trial found
- Terms differ by country and product line, so read the one that applies
- Terms and products are split by country, so read the set that applies to you
Standout against Microsoft Dynamics 365. Its site speaks to SMEs and their accountants and points visitors to partners.
Best for: German-speaking trade, e-commerce and manufacturing companies
myfactory is a product of Forterro Deutschland GmbH, Rosenheimer Straße 141h in Munich, registered at the Munich court under HRB 183190, according to its imprint.
Its pricing page shows three editions: ERP for trade and services, ERP plus e-commerce for online sellers, and ERP plus PPS for production companies. Functions listed include financial accounting, e-invoicing and CRM. The price configurator is rendered in the browser, so no figure could be read, and there is a "Kostenlos testen" button.
The pages I opened are in German, with German, Austrian and Swiss versions.
What myfactory does better than Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Separate editions for trade, e-commerce and production
- German company with a German register entry
- A free trial
- E-invoicing and financial accounting built in
Where myfactory is a step down from Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Prices could not be read
- German-language site
- Part of the Forterro group, which I did not check
- Few details on integrations on the pages I read
Standout against Microsoft Dynamics 365. The three editions let you pay for production or e-commerce only if you need them.
- Which law reaches it. EU (Poland). Microsoft Dynamics 365 is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
- Where the data sits. Poland, Germany and France, on Comarch's own ISO 27001 data centres.
- Source code. Closed source, as Microsoft Dynamics 365 is.
- Independently checked. ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified data centres.
Best for: Companies in Poland and Central Europe, and groups that need local compliance
Comarch S.A. is registered in the Polish court register (KRS 0000057567) at Aleja Jana Pawła II 39A in Kraków. Its ERP page lists Comarch ERP Optima, Altum, BPM, Retail, WMS, business intelligence, mobile applications and a section on ERP for multinationals. The Polish site also lists ERP XL.
The Polish site advertises a cloud app for micro firms from 0 zł a month. The English page shows no prices, so no figure is quoted.
The contracting entity for customers outside Poland may be a local Comarch subsidiary. I did not verify that.
What Comarch ERP does better than Microsoft Dynamics 365
- A range from micro company to multinational
- Polish-registered parent company with a KRS number
- Specialised products for retail and warehouse management
- Its Polish site covers KSeF e-invoicing
Where Comarch ERP is a step down from Microsoft Dynamics 365
- No prices on the English pages
- Many products, so the right one is hard to pick without a consultant
- Most product detail is on the Polish site
- The contracting entity outside Poland was not checked
Standout against Microsoft Dynamics 365. It covers everything from a 0 zł micro-company app to a multinational ERP under one parent.
- Which law reaches it. EU (Germany). Microsoft Dynamics 365 is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
- Where the data sits. Germany (proAlpha's own data centres), or your own servers.
- Source code. Closed source, as Microsoft Dynamics 365 is.
- Independently checked. ISO 27001 and ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Best for: Mid-sized manufacturers and traders with complex production
Proalpha GmbH, Auf dem Immel 8 in Weilerbach, is registered at the Kaiserslautern court under HRB 31613. Its English site describes an ERP system for SMEs, a business application suite, financial management, human capital management, spend management, a digital shopfloor and CRM.
It lists industry solutions for mechanical and plant engineering, automotive suppliers, electronics, medical technology, metal processing, wholesale, aerospace and plastics.
I found no price and no trial; you request a conversation. Treat it as a project-led purchase.
What proALPHA does better than Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Depth for manufacturing and supply chains
- Industry solutions pre-built for several sectors
- German company with a court register entry
- Includes HR, spend and shopfloor modules in the group of products
Where proALPHA is a step down from Microsoft Dynamics 365
- No public price or trial found
- Heavier than needed for a small trading firm
- Project-led purchase and implementation
- Governing law not checked
Standout against Microsoft Dynamics 365. It targets production companies and lists industries, not generic business.
What actually breaks when you switch
Moving ERP is a data and process project. Expect to clean and re-map items, customers, chart of accounts and open documents before loading, and to spend a closing period running both systems side by side. Keep the old system readable for as long as your local retention rules require.
Business Central is usually extended by a partner with extensions and integrations. Ask what you rely on today, from bank connections to Microsoft 365 and Power Platform flows, and check each European tool has an equivalent or a documented API.
Prices on the European sites are easy to compare only at the low end. For the mid-market suppliers (Exact, myfactory, Comarch, proALPHA, Uniconta) you will have to ask for a quote, so compare implementation and support in the same document.
Which European ERP is closest to Business Central?
On their module lists, Odoo, Axelor and Uniconta come nearest to a general-purpose ERP with finance, sales, purchasing, inventory and projects. weclapp covers CRM, orders, stock, purchasing and accounting from its Starter, Services and Trade bundles, and Scopevisio covers finance, billing and projects.
None of them has Microsoft's partner network or its direct link to Microsoft 365 and Power Platform. If your people live in Excel, Outlook and Teams, check what each European tool offers for those integrations before you decide.
Is Microsoft Dynamics 365 compliant if the data is in the EU?
Microsoft documents that Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform are covered by its EU Data Boundary, that the customer's Geo follows the billing address, and that the customer has to configure the environment to be in scope. The documentation also lists limited circumstances where data is transferred outside the boundary.
Whether that is enough depends on your own risk assessment and your auditor. The case for a European supplier is about who the contracting parties are, not about whether a data centre sits in the EU. I could not open the contract text for a Business Central order, so that part is not covered here.
What do these tools cost compared with Business Central?
Microsoft lists $80 and $110 per user a month for Essentials and Premium. Odoo's Standard plan is listed at €19.90 per user a month on yearly billing and Custom at €35.90. weclapp bundles start at €39, Axelor Pro is €35 per user from 10 users, and Xentral plans start at €99 a month for very small shops and €349 with unlimited users.
Compare total cost over three years, not the licence only. Implementation, add-ons, hosting and partner support often outweigh the licence, and several of the European suppliers do not publish prices at all.
Can I try these before I commit?
Yes, mostly. Odoo has a free one-app plan and a free trial, weclapp, Xentral and Scopevisio (30 days) and Uniconta (30 days) have trials, DoliCloud offers 30 days, and myfactory has a "Kostenlos testen" button. Axelor Community is free to download. Exact, Comarch ERP and proALPHA work through sales contact.
A trial with sample data tells you little. Load your own item list, your chart of accounts and a month of real invoices, and see whether the VAT and e-invoicing outputs match what your accountant expects.
Which one to pick
For most small and mid-sized companies, Odoo is the place to start: a free plan, published prices, all the usual apps and a Belgian contracting company. weclapp is the better fit if you sell and ship goods and want a German cloud ERP with bundles priced on the page, and Scopevisio if you bill hours.
Axelor and Dolibarr are the choices if open source matters, one for a mid-sized team with an enterprise edition, the other for a small company with a cheap hosted plan. Xentral is for online sellers, and proALPHA and myfactory for manufacturers.
Exact, Uniconta and Comarch ERP are the options to choose if you want to talk to a partner first, much like with Business Central.
Be honest about the gap. Business Central has a very large partner network, deep Microsoft 365 integration and a common skill pool, and none of the eleven matches all three. Switch if you want a European supplier and contract, and keep Dynamics if your processes depend on the Microsoft ecosystem.
Frequently Asked Questions
Odoo is the best all-round answer on this page for a general ERP, because it combines a free entry point, published euro prices, a wide set of apps and a Belgian contracting company. weclapp is the better pick if you want a German cloud ERP with clear per-user bundles, and Scopevisio if you run a services firm. For manufacturers, look at proALPHA and myfactory.
