Comarch ERP

Comarch S.A. is a publicly listed Krakow company founded in 1993, and one of the few vendors in this category that is not a subsidiary of an American private equity group — a distinction worth naming here because two other vendors elsewhere in this list are.

Its ERP range runs from Comarch ERP XT for sole traders through Optima for small and medium businesses up to Comarch ERP Enterprise, so a growing company can in principle move up the product ladder without changing vendor, accountant or integrations partway through.

It also builds and runs its own data centres — in Krakow, Warsaw, Dresden and Lille — certified to ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, which is unusual for a vendor this size: most names in this category buy hosting from someone else rather than operate it themselves.

For a company whose main worry is who physically holds the ledger, that is a genuine point in Comarch's favour, though it says nothing by itself about the quality of the ERP modules.

The trade-off is that Comarch's ERP business is one part of a much larger IT group spanning billing, banking and telecom software, and pricing for every product line is quoted rather than published, so comparison requires a conversation with sales. The brand is also far less known outside Poland and its export markets than Exact, Visma or Odoo, and English-language documentation is thinner than for the German or Belgian names on this list.
