How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • HighRadius Corporation is a Delaware corporation, and its March 2026 privacy policy relies on the Data Privacy Framework for personal data received in the United States.
  • Esker, Serrala, Onguard, Payt, Nomentia and Billie are contracted by EU entities, while Chaser, Kolleno and GoCardless contract from the United Kingdom, which is outside the EEA but covered by an adequacy decision.
  • HighRadius publishes no price list on its homepage and advertises outcome-based pricing, whereas Payt, Chaser, Kolleno and GoCardless show figures on their own sites.
  • Nomentia replaces only the cash application part of a receivables suite, so it is paired with a collections tool and not used alone.
  • GoCardless and Billie replace how money is collected, not how invoices are chased, so they sit next to a dunning tool and do not substitute for one.

Why people leave HighRadius

HighRadius Corporation is the company named in the privacy policy as a Delaware corporation, and the product entry on this site places its address in Houston, Texas.

It sells software for what it calls the office of the CFO: order-to-cash, accounts payable, B2B payments, treasury and risk, and close and consolidation, all on one platform. On its homepage it says more than 1,500 finance teams use it, and that collections, cash application, deductions and credit management are separate modules you can license one at a time.

A receivables system is unusual among finance tools because it holds the customer list itself: names, contacts, balances, disputes and the history of who pays late. Moving that into a US-headquartered platform means the contract, the support organisation and the legal exposure follow the vendor.

HighRadius states in its privacy policy that it remains accountable for personal information it receives in the United States under the Data Privacy Framework. That is a transfer mechanism, and it is the kind of paperwork a European finance team gets to avoid when the vendor is established in the EU.

The other reason people look elsewhere is fit. A suite designed around global enterprises with dozens of ERPs and AI agents is a lot of software for a controller whose real problem is customers who pay on day 50 instead of day 30. Several of the European tools below start from that smaller problem, and a few publish a price, which HighRadius does not do on its homepage.

  • The contracting party and the data controller are American The privacy policy names HighRadius Corporation, a Delaware corporation, and its affiliates, and describes onward transfers under the Data Privacy Framework. For a European buyer that means a US company sits in the chain for debtor data, and exposure to US legal process does not depend on where the servers are. A provider established in the EU, the UK or Switzerland puts the contract and the supervisory authority inside a European legal order.
  • Pricing is built around outcomes, which is hard to budget HighRadius advertises outcome-based pricing: you pay when the AI agents deliver value against Mutually Agreed Success Criteria, with no implementation fees and no fees until go-live, then a gain share. That can be attractive, but it moves negotiation into defining the success metrics. Esker, Onguard, Nomentia and Serrala also quote privately, while Chaser, Payt, Kolleno and GoCardless publish figures you can read before a call.
  • The platform is wider than a receivables team needs The homepage lists accounts payable, B2B payments with interchange fee optimisation, treasury, consolidation and financial close next to collections. A company that only wants to chase invoices and match payments pays attention to a roadmap it will never use. Chaser, Payt, Billecta and Nomentia are scoped to one job each, which makes them easier to evaluate, and easier to leave.
  • European dunning and payment habits are a different shape Dutch buyers pay by iDEAL and expect a Peppol e-invoice, Swedish collection ends at Kronofogden, and much of continental Europe collects by SEPA Direct Debit instead of chasing a transfer. Payt, Billecta and GoCardless are built around those habits. HighRadius offers its site in English, German and French, but its marketing centres on global enterprise rollouts.

What you have to replace, not just match

HighRadius collections work is the first thing to map. Its homepage lists collections worklist prioritisation, dunning emails, an in-app dialer and in-app payments as separate steps. Any European tool replacing it needs a worklist, templates per customer segment, call logging and a way for the debtor to pay from the reminder. Chaser, Payt and Onguard cover that ground directly; Esker, Serrala and Kolleno put it next to cash application.

Then comes everything that surrounds collections. HighRadius sells cash application, deductions management, credit management and an e-invoicing portal as modules of the same platform, and the sales material states pre-built integrations with more than 50 ERPs and systems.

A switch is only clean if you decide module by module whether the replacement is one vendor or several. Nomentia replaces cash application only, Onguard credit management and collections, GoCardless the collection of the money itself, and Billie moves the credit risk to a lender.

Finally, there are the pieces that never show up on a feature list: the scoring model your team has learned to trust, the history of promise-to-pay dates, the customer notes and the dispute reason codes. Plan to export those before the contract ends, because a European replacement will start without the machine-learning history HighRadius has built from your own invoices.

How each alternative compares to HighRadius

#1

Esker

The nearest suite-level replacement, with credit, collections and cash application under a French contract

Villeurbanne (Lyon area), FranceNot published, quote on request#1 in Procurement Software

Best for: Mid-size and large finance teams that want credit, collections and cash application from one European vendor

Against HighRadius, Esker is the tool that covers the widest slice of the same ground. Its receivables listing here spans collections and credit management, AI-assisted cash application and claims and deductions, and it also sells procurement and accounts payable, so a CFO office can consolidate onto one vendor in much the way HighRadius proposes. The group states it has operated since 1985 and serves more than 3,000 customers.

The catch is the usual one for a global company: Esker also operates in the United States and its website terms apply Wisconsin law to visitors in North America, so the order form must name Esker S.A. in Villeurbanne as your contracting party. Pricing is by quote, and the pages we reviewed do not name a hosting location.

What Esker does better than HighRadius

  • A French contracting entity with a register-style address rather than a Delaware parent
  • Claims and deductions handling in a European product
  • Four decades of operation behind the receivables modules
  • Interface localised for several European languages

Where Esker is a step down from HighRadius

  • No ERP connector count on the pages we reviewed, against HighRadius's 50-plus
  • Hosting location and prices not published
  • US operations make the contract entity a point to confirm

Standout against HighRadius. Esker puts collections, cash application and claims handling in the same company as procurement and accounts payable, which mirrors the single-vendor idea behind HighRadius.

#2

Serrala

The German option for SAP shops that want receivables, payments and treasury together

Norderstedt (Hamburg area), GermanyPricing on request#4 in Accounts Payable Automation

Best for: SAP-centred finance departments that also want payments and treasury from the same vendor

Serrala is the German answer to HighRadius for companies whose ERP is SAP. Its Alevate AR line covers collections with disputes, cash application and a customer payment portal, and the same vendor sells payments and treasury modules. The legal page names Serrala Group GmbH in Norderstedt, registered at the Amtsgericht Kiel under HRB 25634, which is a more checkable contracting party than most vendors give you.

It is also a large suite, and the product pages speak in general terms without volumes or customer figures. Pricing is on request, and the data location is not stated on the pages checked. Teams on a small accounting package will pay for modules they never open.

What Serrala does better than HighRadius

  • German commercial register details published on the legal page
  • Receivables, payments and treasury from one non-US vendor
  • A customer payment portal inside the receivables product
  • SAP integration as a stated focus

Where Serrala is a step down from HighRadius

  • No published pricing, as with HighRadius
  • Product descriptions with few figures to test against
  • No stated data location

Standout against HighRadius. Serrala sells treasury services for SAP next to its receivables modules, and lists SAP first among the ERPs it supports.

#3

Onguard

The credit management and collections specialist with documented EU backup hosting

Amsterdam, NetherlandsQuote only; no prices published#3 in Accounts Receivable Software

Best for: Credit and collections teams in leasing, utilities, transport or professional services that run workflow-driven debtor management

Onguard covers the part of HighRadius that credit controllers use every day: debtor management with workflows, dashboards, a customer portal where invoices can be paid or disputed, and credit insurance and risk modules. It is one of the few tools here that states where the software runs: Microsoft Azure, with backups replicated to a secondary EU-based Azure region, plus ISO 27001.

Against HighRadius it is narrower. Cash application is not a headline module, the ERP list is not on the product page, and the pages do not name a legal entity beyond the trade name and Chamber of Commerce number 32083469. Ownership is not stated on its own site, so ask who the shareholders are during due diligence.

What Onguard does better than HighRadius

  • A published hosting description with an EU backup region
  • Credit insurance and risk modules next to collections
  • Sector pages for leasing, utilities, transport and professional services

Where Onguard is a step down from HighRadius

  • Cash application and deductions are thinner than in a full suite
  • Entity name and ownership not stated on its own pages
  • Prices and ERP list by quote only

Standout against HighRadius. Onguard names an EU backup region for its Azure hosting, a detail most vendors on this page leave out.

Payt

The Dutch invoice follow-up tool for small businesses, accountants and healthcare practices

Groningen, NetherlandsMonthly plans by invoice volume; healthcare tariffs EUR 39.95, 69.95 and 159.95 per month (up to 30, 75 and 250 invoices); general tariffs on the vendor website#4 in Accounts Receivable Software

Best for: Small and mid-sized businesses in the Netherlands and Belgium that want automated reminders with iDEAL

Payt is the lightest-weight switch from HighRadius. It automates reminders, offers a portal where the debtor can talk back, supports payment plans and iDEAL at EUR 0.35 per transaction, and issues Peppol e-invoices. Every plan includes unlimited users, and the healthcare tariffs run from EUR 39.95 per month for up to 30 invoices, far below the quoted suites on this page.

It is a follow-up tool, not a credit management suite. The general tariffs did not render on the pricing page we read, so confirm them with Payt, and the hosting location is not stated. Most of the site is in Dutch, and the contract is under Dutch law with the court in Groningen.

What Payt does better than HighRadius

  • A published entry price in euros
  • Unlimited users on every plan
  • iDEAL and Peppol built in for the Dutch market
  • ISO 27001 and, for healthcare, NEN 7510

Where Payt is a step down from HighRadius

  • No credit insurance or deep cash application
  • General tariffs not visible on the page we read
  • Dutch-language material dominates

Standout against HighRadius. Payt prices by the number of invoices sent, so a practice with 30 invoices a month pays EUR 39.95.

Chaser

A UK chasing tool with published euro prices, aimed at Xero, QuickBooks and Business Central users

Manchester (registered office), United KingdomCompact from EUR 239/month, Core from EUR 719/month, Complete from EUR 1,079/month (Europe, monthly billing; yearly billing saves 10%)#5 in Accounts Receivable Software

Best for: Finance teams on Xero, QuickBooks or Dynamics 365 Business Central that want invoice chasing automated

Chaser reads open invoices from the accounting system and sends reminders by email, SMS and automated phone call, with a payment portal called Chaser Pay and payment plans for overdue balances. For Europe the pricing page lists Compact from EUR 239, Core from EUR 719 and Complete from EUR 1,079 per month, so you can price the move before booking a demo with anyone.

The contract is with Chaser Technologies Limited in England (company number 08517987), not an EU entity, and Fuel Ventures Limited is the only active person with significant control at Companies House. Plans are tied to revenue bands, no data region is named beyond Google Cloud Platform and MongoDB Atlas, and deep cash application is not part of the product.

What Chaser does better than HighRadius

  • Published euro pricing by plan
  • Automated phone calls as well as email and SMS
  • SOC 2 Type II certification
  • Direct connections to Xero, QuickBooks and Business Central

Where Chaser is a step down from HighRadius

  • UK entity, outside the EEA
  • No stated data region
  • No cash application suite

Standout against HighRadius. Chaser sends automated phone calls alongside email and SMS reminders, and drafts the email text with an AI generator.

Kolleno

A London platform that joins collections, payments, cash application and disputes in one place

London, United KingdomBusiness from USD 545 to 650 per month (two figures shown depending on the billing toggle), Business Plus USD 995 to 1,245 per month; Enterprise and Enterprise Plus on request#6 in Accounts Receivable Software

Best for: Credit control teams on Xero, QuickBooks or Sage Intacct that want one platform from reminder to reconciliation

Kolleno describes itself as an order-to-cash platform, which makes it the closest structural echo of HighRadius among the smaller vendors. Drag and drop dunning paths, a single inbox for email, SMS and phone, a payments portal, credit risk, disputes and AI agents sit in one product, and the company states ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and SOC 1 Type II.

Read the pricing page carefully. Business is shown at USD 545 to 650 per month and Business Plus at USD 995 to 1,245, depending on the billing toggle, and cash application and the larger ERPs appear on the Enterprise tiers. Kolleno Limited, London, contracts outside the US and Canada, while a Delaware company handles customers there; the data region is not stated.

What Kolleno does better than HighRadius

  • Collections, payments and cash application in one product
  • Three published security attestations
  • Plan prices visible without a sales call
  • Dispute handling included

Where Kolleno is a step down from HighRadius

  • Prices in US dollars
  • Cash application sits on Enterprise tiers
  • UK contract and an undisclosed data region

Standout against HighRadius. Kolleno states ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and SOC 1 Type II, three attestations on one pricing page.

Nomentia

A Finnish treasury suite whose cash application module replaces the matching half of HighRadius

Espoo, FinlandQuote only; no prices published#7 in Accounts Receivable Software

Best for: Treasury and finance teams that want bank receipts matched to invoices and posted to the ERP

Nomentia is not a collections tool, and it is better to read it that way. Its Cash Application module imports bank data, applies matching rules, spots short payments and overpayments, routes exceptions and tracks unapplied cash, either alone or connected to ERP, payments and cash visibility. In a HighRadius migration it answers one question: who has paid what.

The controller named in the privacy policy is Nomentia Oy, number 2855557-7, at Linnoitustie 6 C, Espoo. Subsidiaries in Sweden, Austria, Germany, Poland and the Netherlands round out a European footprint. Prices are by quote and the data region is not stated. The board page lists Verdane, Inflexion and PSG Equity, so a split of ownership is not published; PSG is a US firm.

What Nomentia does better than HighRadius

  • A named Finnish controller with registration number and address
  • Exception routing for short payments and overpayments
  • Bank connectivity shared with treasury and payments

Where Nomentia is a step down from HighRadius

  • No dunning or dispute module described
  • Quote-only pricing and no stated data region
  • A US investor sits on the board

Standout against HighRadius. Nomentia can run as a standalone matching layer without any of its other treasury modules.

Billecta

A Swedish invoicing system with its own debt collection arm and a Kronofogden filing

Sweden (city not stated), SwedenFree 30-day trial; prices on request#8 in Accounts Receivable Software

Best for: Swedish businesses and associations that want invoicing, reminders and collection in a single system

Billecta takes a different view of the problem. It starts at invoice creation, matches payments, books them and sends reminders, then passes unpaid invoices to its own debt collection, which files with the Swedish Enforcement Authority, Kronofogden, through an integration. The company says it has been part of the fintech group Kravia since spring 2026 and was founded in 2015.

The site is in Swedish, no prices are published beyond a free 30-day trial, and the head office city and data location are not stated. Collection follows the Swedish legal process, so debtors elsewhere do not benefit from the integration. It is a fit for a Swedish SME, and a weak one for a multinational.

What Billecta does better than HighRadius

  • Invoicing, reminders and collection under one login
  • Direct filing with Kronofogden
  • A free 30-day trial and no binding period

Where Billecta is a step down from HighRadius

  • Swedish-language site and Swedish process only
  • No published prices
  • No disputes portal or forecasting

Standout against HighRadius. Billecta hands unpaid invoices to its own debt collection inside the same system, with the Kronofogden filing automated.

GoCardless

Collects the money by Direct Debit instead of chasing it, but does not run dunning workflows

London, United KingdomFrom 1% + about £0.20 per transaction, capped#5 in Payment Processing

Best for: Businesses with recurring invoices that can move customers onto Direct Debit mandates

GoCardless attacks late payment from the other end. Once a customer signs a mandate, payments are pulled by SEPA Direct Debit, Bacs, ACH, BECS or PAD, so there is no reminder to send. It integrates with more than 350 platforms, lists Xero, QuickBooks and Salesforce among them, and charges from 1% plus 20 pence per transaction.

That is no replacement for HighRadius. There are no worklists, credit scores or deductions, and the tool page notes that cards, wallets and buy-now-pay-later are not supported, and that Direct Debit typically takes three to five working days to clear. GoCardless is a London company, so the contract sits outside the EEA.

What GoCardless does better than HighRadius

  • Pulling payment on a schedule rather than chasing it
  • Transparent per-transaction pricing
  • Direct Debit coverage in over 30 countries

Where GoCardless is a step down from HighRadius

  • No dunning, credit or cash application features
  • Needs customer consent to a mandate
  • UK entity, outside the EEA

Standout against HighRadius. GoCardless removes the reminder for customers on a mandate, because the payment is pulled from their bank account.

Billie

A Berlin B2B checkout that pays the merchant upfront and takes the buyer risk

Berlin, GermanyMerchant fees negotiated per contract; not published#12 in Payment Processing

Best for: B2B merchants that sell on invoice and would rather be paid immediately than chase buyers

Billie changes who bears the problem. At checkout it offers pay later, pay in instalments or a trade account, pays the merchant upfront and takes on the risk that the buyer pays late. That removes dunning for covered orders, a different proposition from HighRadius, and it plugs into Stripe, Adyen, Mollie and Klarna as a payment method.

Billie GmbH is registered at the Amtsgericht Charlottenburg (HRB 182428 B) and supervised by BaFin; the company says it works with over 9,000 merchants and 1.3 million active business buyers. Merchant fees are negotiated per contract and not published, and the product covers B2B invoice financing only.

What Billie does better than HighRadius

  • Cash arrives upfront regardless of buyer behaviour
  • BaFin supervision and a German registered entity
  • Works inside existing checkout stacks

Where Billie is a step down from HighRadius

  • Only for new B2B sales, not your open ledger
  • Fees are not published
  • Underwriting adds an approval step per buyer

Standout against HighRadius. Billie turns an unpaid invoice from a collections task into a financing decision made at checkout.

billie.io Visit Billie

What actually breaks when you switch

Plan the data export first. Open invoices, payment history, promise-to-pay dates, contact notes and dispute reasons all need to leave HighRadius in a format the new tool can import, and the receiving tool will usually accept CSV or an accounting-system sync rather than a native HighRadius file. Chaser, Kolleno and Payt connect to the accounting system, so the cleanest route is often to let them re-read open items from Xero, QuickBooks or the ERP.

Expect to rebuild the working layer. Dunning templates, escalation steps and segmentation rules do not transfer, the credit scores the team used will be replaced by a different model or by none, and collectors will need retraining on a new worklist. Check the contract for the notice period and any success-based fee that continues after go-live, since a gain share can outlast the decision to move. Run both systems on one customer segment for a month before the full cutover.

Can one European tool replace everything HighRadius does in order-to-cash?

Esker and Serrala are the nearest to a suite: both list collections, cash application and claims or dispute handling for receivables, and both also sell accounts payable. Kolleno joins collections, payments, cash application, credit risk and disputes in one product, although the pricing page puts cash application and auto reconciliation on its Enterprise tiers. None of them claims the full spread of treasury, consolidation and close that HighRadius lists.

For most teams the realistic replacement is a pair: a collections and credit tool such as Onguard, Payt or Chaser, plus Nomentia or a bank-connected matcher for cash application. That adds an integration to maintain and removes a single vendor to negotiate with. Decide which of the two costs you more before you shortlist.

Is switching from HighRadius worth it for a mid-sized company?

It depends on what you use. If the receivables team runs only reminders and a little matching, a platform with 180-plus AI agents mostly sits unused, and Chaser from EUR 239 per month or Payt with unlimited users on every plan is a closer match to the work. If the team relies on deductions, credit scoring and multi-ERP posting, the European options are narrower and you may lose capability.

The honest test is to list the modules you actually have switched on and compare that list with the tool pages below, one tool at a time. Where a module has no equivalent, either keep HighRadius for that single module or accept the loss deliberately.

Which one to pick

Choose Esker or Serrala when you want a suite and the receivables team is large enough to use cash application, claims and a payment portal; pick Serrala when SAP is the centre of your landscape. Choose Onguard when credit management and a debtor portal are the main job, and Kolleno when you want everything in one tool and can accept a UK contract and dollar prices.

Choose Payt, Chaser or Billecta when the problem is chasing invoices on time, and pair Nomentia with any of them if matching is the bottleneck. Add GoCardless or Billie only if you are willing to change how customers pay. If you rely on deductions management, multi-ERP posting and AI scoring across a global group, HighRadius is still the stronger product, and a European tool will mean giving something up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Esker is the closest in scope: a French company in Villeurbanne with collections and credit management, AI-assisted cash application and claims handling, operating since 1985. Serrala from Germany and Onguard from Amsterdam come next, with Serrala strong when SAP is the ERP and Onguard when credit management and a debtor portal matter most. Smaller teams are better served by Payt, Chaser or Billecta, which cost less and do less.

Not on the homepage we read on 19 October 2026. It describes outcome-based pricing, with no implementation fees, no fees until go-live and a gain share afterwards tied to success criteria agreed per customer. For a published figure you have to look at the European side: Chaser starts at EUR 239 per month, Kolleno at USD 545 to 650, GoCardless at 1% plus 20 pence per transaction.

Chaser, Kolleno and GoCardless contract from the United Kingdom, which is outside the EEA but benefits from an EU adequacy decision, so personal data can move to them without extra transfer tools. That decision can be withdrawn, so a risk-averse buyer who wants an EEA entity should pick Esker, Serrala, Onguard, Payt, Nomentia, Billecta or Billie.

Nomentia does nothing else for receivables: it imports bank data, matches receipts to open invoices by rule, flags short payments and overpayments and posts the result to the ERP. Esker lists AI-assisted cash application, Serrala and Kolleno list it among their modules, and Payt lists payment matching. Check which tier includes it, because Kolleno places it on Enterprise.

Yes, but through different vendors. Payt supports iDEAL at EUR 0.35 per transaction, GoCardless collects through SEPA Direct Debit and Bacs, and Billie pays the merchant upfront on a B2B invoice and carries the buyer risk. None of the three replaces a full dunning workflow, so most buyers combine one of them with Chaser, Payt or Onguard.
