European Virtual and Hybrid Event Platforms

An event platform holds the name, employer, job title and session choices of every person who registers, plus the payment details of those who buy a ticket. These European platforms handle registration, an attendee app and live streaming for in-person, hybrid and online events, from vendors contracting in France, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and the UK.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect the order tools appear in. It never buys a listing: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects whether a tool is listed. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • Wisembly in Paris prints its entry price, EUR 79 per month excluding VAT, and names three datacentres in Ile-de-France.
  • Lyyti Oy in Turku states that it processes data only inside EU territory and names UpCloud as its host.
  • Converia GmbH in Weimar bundles abstract review, programme planning and invoicing, from EUR 49 per month plus a ticket-revenue share capped at EUR 15.
  • Swapcard Corporation SAS in Paris applies French law and Paris courts for organisers in the European Economic Area.
  • Grip, Eventtia and evenito are included with caveats: the UK, US-law terms and Switzerland respectively sit outside plain EU jurisdiction.

European virtual and hybrid event platforms are registration, ticketing, attendee-app and streaming systems run by companies established in Europe, used by organisers of conferences, trade shows and corporate events who want guest data handled under European contract law instead of a US vendor such as Cvent.

Every European virtual and hybrid event platform reviewed

#1 Eventee

Brno, Czech Republic Pay-per-event plans for 200, 500 or 1,000 attendees; amounts shown on the pricing page, free trial available Demo on request

Best for: Single conferences and corporate events that want a branded attendee app

  • Operating company. Eventee s.r.o.
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Czech Republic)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages reviewed
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cvent, Whova, Guidebook

Eventee gives each event its own homepage, web app and mobile app, and sells that bundle as a plan sized to 200, 500 or 1,000 attendees. Every plan covers in-person and hybrid formats, and the feature list leans toward the session itself: live questions, polls, a social wall, gamification and B2B networking, with registration and check-in in the same account.

The contracting company is Eventee s.r.o. in Brno, registered at the Regional Court in Brno, and its terms follow Czech law. Apps are localised in a dozen languages. White label, a custom domain and badge printing are add-ons, the pages reviewed state no data location, and the site publishes comparison pages against Cvent, Whova, Guidebook and Sched.

What Eventee does well

  • Plans priced per event
  • In-person and hybrid in every plan
  • Apps in a dozen languages
  • Czech company under EU law
  • Free trial before purchase

Where Eventee falls short

  • Per-event pricing adds up for many events
  • 1,000 attendee ceiling on the listed plans
  • Branding and white label cost extra
  • Data location not stated on reviewed pages

Standout feature. Eventee sells a separate plan for every single event, which suits an organiser with one or two large conferences.

#2 Wisembly

Paris, France Founded 2012 Webinaire from EUR 79/month excl. VAT, Presentiel from EUR 129, Business from EUR 199, One Shot and custom on request Demo on request

Best for: Organisers who mix a room audience and remote participants

  • Operating company. Mediactive Events Solutions SASU (trading as Wisembly)
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. Three datacentres in Ile-de-France, France
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cvent, RingCentral Events

Wisembly runs the live moment on two screens: presenters show questions, polls and quizzes on the venue display while remote guests join the same session by video. Four tiers are published, Webinaire from EUR 79 a month, Presentiel from EUR 129 and Business from EUR 199, all excluding VAT, with One Shot and a bespoke tier up to 10,000 participants.

Mediactive Events Solutions SASU in Paris operates the platform (RCS Paris 523 455 566), and the legal notice names three datacentres in Ile-de-France and states that no advertising cookies are used. Analytics run on self-hosted Matomo and Plausible. The site dates from 2012, standard plans stop at 1,000 participants, and stage capacity is 10 or 25 speakers.

What Wisembly does well

  • Prices published from EUR 79/month
  • Datacentres in France
  • Stage projection for on-site rooms
  • No advertising cookies
  • Plan up to 10,000 participants

Where Wisembly falls short

  • French-first documentation
  • 1,000-participant cap on standard plans
  • Streaming and capture are options
  • Max 10 to 25 speakers on stage

Standout feature. Wisembly is the one tool here that projects audience questions and quizzes onto the venue screen while remote participants answer.

#3 talque

Berlin, Germany Essential from EUR 3,000/year, Pro from EUR 7,000/year, Enterprise on request; ticketing fees extra Demo on request

Best for: Conferences and trade fairs that want one branded app for onsite and online attendees

  • Operating company. Real Life Interaction GmbH (talque)
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Where the data sits. Servers in the EU
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cvent, Whova

talque describes itself as an operating system for events, running ticketing, the attendee app, live programme changes and analytics from one account. The licence is yearly with unlimited events: Essential from EUR 3,000 with 250 participants included, Pro from EUR 7,000 with 500 included, Enterprise on request with API access and integrations.

Real Life Interaction GmbH in Berlin (HRB 163658) is the legal entity, and the product page states that all servers are in the EU with a data processing agreement on offer. Ticketing starts at 2 percent of the net ticket price for paid events, badges and check-in cost EUR 499 to configure, and the vendor claims more than eleven years of development.

What talque does well

  • Unlimited events per licence
  • Prices published in euros
  • Servers stated as EU only
  • Fixed contact person during events
  • Ticketing with Stripe and SEPA

Where talque falls short

  • Annual commitment
  • Ticketing and badges are extra
  • No streaming product described
  • German-first website

Standout feature. talque assigns a fixed contact person who plans the run of show and handles changes while the event is live.

#4 Lyyti

Turku, Finland Four plans (Starter, Basic, Professional, Enterprise); amounts not published Demo on request

Best for: Organisations that run a high number of mixed live and online events

  • Operating company. Lyyti Oy
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Finland)
  • Where the data sits. EU only, hosted with UpCloud
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cvent, RingCentral Events

Lyyti builds on the guest record: invitations, registration pages, reminders, surveys and reports share one profile per person, and email and SMS automation runs from it. Starter allows 10 events and 500 participants a year, Basic lifts both limits, Professional adds ticketing, a REST API and SSO, and Enterprise is customised.

Lyyti Oy of Turku is the controller named in the privacy policy, and the security page says processing happens exclusively within EU territory, hosted with UpCloud. The vendor describes an information security system aligned with ISO/IEC 27001. It lists offices in Turku, Helsinki, Paris and Stockholm, over 2,100 clients (vendor claim) and registration in 22 languages.

What Lyyti does well

  • Data processed only in the EU
  • Four plans with clear feature steps
  • 22 registration languages
  • Offices in four European cities
  • SMS and email automation

Where Lyyti falls short

  • No public prices
  • Starter plan capped at 500 participants
  • Streaming described briefly
  • Some features only in Professional

Standout feature. Lyyti names both its EU-only processing and its hosting provider on a published security page.

#5 Converia

Weimar, Germany Pro from EUR 49/month (Starter), EUR 149 (Plus), EUR 349 (Advanced) plus a share of ticket revenue; Flex from EUR 129/month Demo on request

Best for: Universities, societies and congress organisers with peer-reviewed programmes

  • Operating company. Converia GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Where the data sits. Servers in the EU
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cvent Abstract Management, Cvent registration

Converia serves the paperwork around academic and professional congresses: abstract submission, reviewer assignment, programme planning, registration, certificates, CME credits and e-invoicing. Converia Pro starts at EUR 49 a month for up to 150 participants plus a ticket share of 2.5 percent, and Flex starts at EUR 129 a month for three or more events a year.

Converia GmbH is named in the impressum at Kaufstrasse 2-4 in Weimar, and the homepage states EU servers, more than 20 years of experience and over a thousand conferences a year (vendor claims). The ticket share is capped at EUR 15, contracts are annual and net, and live streams and video on demand are listed as a secondary scenario.

What Converia does well

  • Abstract review and programme in one tool
  • Published monthly prices
  • EU servers stated
  • Invoicing with reverse charge and VAT rates
  • Flex quotas for several events

Where Converia falls short

  • Ticket revenue share on top
  • Annual contracts
  • Little attendee networking
  • Hybrid is a secondary use

Standout feature. Converia keeps submissions, reviewers, programme and VAT-correct invoices in one conference back office.

#6 evenito

Zurich, Switzerland Pricing on request (demo) Demo on request

Best for: Companies running mixed in-person, virtual and hybrid events

  • Operating company. evenito AG
  • Jurisdiction. Switzerland (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. ON24 (virtual events), Cvent

evenito combines guest lists, invitations, registration forms, a web builder, ticketing and a check-in app with a streaming and conferencing module. The same event record serves in-person, virtual and hybrid formats, and a statistics centre reports on registrations and participation.

evenito AG is registered in Zurich (CHE-272.774.030), and Switzerland counts as adequate for EU data transfers while sitting outside the EEA. The site names Swiss employers and insurers as customers. Pricing and hosting region are not published, so a demo is the only route to a quote, and the streaming module is not documented in depth.

What evenito does well

  • Registration, ticketing and check-in in one
  • Hybrid event support
  • Swiss AG with UID
  • Event analytics
  • Used by large Swiss employers

Where evenito falls short

  • Not webinar-specific
  • No published pricing
  • Hosting not stated
  • Streaming depth unclear

Standout feature. evenito carries one guest record from invitation through ticketing and check-in to the stream.

#7 Swapcard

Paris, France Founded 2013 Licence plus per-user rates and add-ons; no amounts published Demo on request

Best for: Trade shows and association congresses with exhibitors and sponsors

  • Operating company. Swapcard Corporation SAS
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. AWS multi-zone hosting, region not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cvent

Swapcard puts exhibitors and sponsors at the centre: a lead centre, lead scanning, hosted buyer matching and sponsor visibility sit next to registration, ticketing, the mobile app and onsite badge printing. AI recommendations suggest sessions and contacts, and pricing combines a licence with per-user rates and add-ons, none of them published.

Swapcard Corporation SAS in Paris (founded 2013) is the group entity in the privacy policy, alongside affiliates in the United States, Canada, the UK, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. The company page lists ISO 27001:2022, SOC 2 Type II and PCI DSS v4.0, hosting is AWS multi-zone without a named region, and the organiser terms apply French law for the EEA.

What Swapcard does well

  • Exhibitor lead and meeting tools
  • ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II listed
  • French law for EEA organisers
  • AI recommendations for sessions and contacts
  • Onsite check-in and badge printing

Where Swapcard falls short

  • No public pricing
  • Built for mid-market and enterprise
  • US affiliate in the group
  • Hosting region not stated

Standout feature. Swapcard matches sellers and hosted buyers by stated preference inside the same app that attendees use.

#8 meetyoo

Berlin, Germany Founded 1999 Pricing on request (see website) Demo on request

Best for: Enterprises running large webcasts and virtual events

  • Operating company. meetyoo conferencing GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Where the data sits. See GDPR and security page
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. ON24, GoToWebinar, vFairs

meetyoo covers webcasts and virtual events at the enterprise end: premium webcast streaming, a branded studio, virtual venues with booths, gamification, matchmaking and a sponsorship area. A managed service and a remote virtual studio let the vendor produce the broadcast, and its site carries a direct comparison with ON24.

The imprint names meetyoo conferencing GmbH in Berlin (HRB 135847 B, Berlin-Charlottenburg), and the company describes itself as founded in 1999 with offices in Mannheim, New York and California. No prices are published, hosting details sit on a separate GDPR page, and the product is heavy for a small weekly webinar.

What meetyoo does well

  • Berlin GmbH with commercial register entry
  • Managed service and virtual studio
  • Virtual venues, booths and matchmaking
  • Founded in 1999
  • Direct positioning against ON24

Where meetyoo falls short

  • No published pricing
  • US offices listed alongside Berlin
  • Enterprise focus, heavy for small webinars
  • Hosting details sit on a separate page

Standout feature. meetyoo offers to produce the whole broadcast for the customer through its managed service and remote studio.

#9 Evenium

Paris, France Founded 2000 Registration EUR 1 per ticket sold; ConnexMe single event EUR 1,499 or EUR 3,000; annual EUR 7,200 or EUR 14,400 Demo on request

Best for: Corporate and life sciences teams that want prices before a sales call

  • Operating company. Evenium S.A.
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. Platform data location not stated; website hosted on AWS in Ireland
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cvent, RingCentral Events

Evenium splits its suite into modules with prices on the page: registration and check-in at EUR 1 per ticket sold, the ConnexMe app and virtual platform at EUR 1,499 or EUR 3,000 for a single event, and annual subscriptions at EUR 7,200 or EUR 14,400. Meetings are sized to 200 or 1,000 participants, with a per-participant fee beyond that.

Evenium S.A. is registered in Paris (429575699) and was started in 2000, yet the legal notice also lists an Evenium, Inc. address in Sunnyvale, California, so confirm which entity contracts. Separate packages target life sciences meetings and sponsored seat allocation. Platform data location is not stated, and the website itself is hosted on AWS in Ireland.

What Evenium does well

  • Prices printed in euros
  • Modules bought separately
  • Life sciences specialisation
  • Over 20 years in the market
  • Optional streaming and replay

Where Evenium falls short

  • US entity also listed
  • One meeting at a time per subscription
  • Data location not stated
  • Optional services priced on request

Standout feature. Evenium offers dedicated packages for life sciences meetings and sponsored seat allocation with compliance rules.

#10 Grip

London, United Kingdom Founded 2016 Pricing on request Demo on request

Best for: Trade shows and hosted buyer events where meetings drive the value

  • Operating company. Intros.at Ltd (Grip)
  • Jurisdiction. United Kingdom (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. AWS data centres, region not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cvent Appointments, Cvent LeadCapture

Grip starts from the meeting instead of the ticket. Attendees and exhibitors are matched, meetings are scheduled before the show, and exhibitors collect and rate leads on site. Use-case pages cover VIP meetings, startup investor programmes and hosted buyer events, and registration, badge printing and entrance scanning sit around that core.

Intros.at Ltd operates Grip from London, registered in England and Wales, and the terms apply English law. The site says it was founded in 2016. The security page names AWS data centres, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and Cyber Essentials without giving a region, and prices are on request, so ticketing and streaming need other tools.

What Grip does well

  • Meeting scheduling at the centre
  • Lead retrieval for exhibitors
  • Virtual and hybrid page
  • UK company with English-law terms
  • Cyber Essentials certified

Where Grip falls short

  • No public pricing
  • Hosting region not stated
  • Lighter on ticketing and streaming
  • Outside the EU (UK)

Standout feature. Grip measures an event by the qualified meetings it schedules rather than by tickets sold.

#11 Eventtia

Tallinn, Estonia Founded 2014 Essential USD 1,650/year for 250 attendees, Premium USD 2,500, Networking USD 3,500, Enterprise on request Demo on request

Best for: Event programmes that want a flat annual licence without ticket fees

  • Operating company. Eventtia OU (for EU-based users)
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Estonia)
  • Where the data sits. AWS, region not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cvent, Eventbrite registration

Eventtia sells attendee credits valid for 12 months with unlimited events and, according to its pricing page, no per-registration fees. Essential is USD 1,650 for 250 attendees, Premium adds a branded app and a virtual stage with live streaming, Q&A and polls at USD 2,500, and Networking adds matchmaking and video meetings at USD 3,500.

For users in the EU the terms name Eventtia OU in Tallinn, while other regions contract with entities in Delaware, Mexico or Colombia. Clause 15.6 states that US commercial law governs, the hosting region is not named, and prices default to dollars. Every plan includes an MCP server with 51 tools for AI assistants, per the vendor.

What Eventtia does well

  • No per-ticket fees stated
  • Virtual stage in Premium
  • Matchmaking tier available
  • AI assistant integration included
  • Estonian entity for EU users

Where Eventtia falls short

  • Dollar pricing by default
  • Governing law stated as US
  • Hosting region not stated
  • Networking features only in top tier

Standout feature. Eventtia includes an MCP server with 51 tools so AI assistants can create events and read registration data.

How do I choose a European alternative to Cvent for my events?

Start from the event format. Swapcard and Grip are built around exhibitors, hosted buyers and scheduled meetings. Converia is built around submissions, reviewers and invoices. Eventee and talque are built around one branded attendee app, and Wisembly around a room audience with remote guests. Lyyti and evenito start from the guest list, while meetyoo is a production platform for large webcasts.

Then compare what is stated, not what is implied. Pricing, hosting region and the contracting entity are printed for some vendors and missing for others, and the tool pages on this site mark each gap. A shortlist of three, one per format, is usually enough to request demos.

What do European event platforms cost, and how are they priced?

Four models exist. Eventee sells a plan per event (200, 500 or 1,000 attendees). talque sells a yearly licence, EUR 3,000 for Essential and EUR 7,000 for Pro, with unlimited events and ticketing fees extra. Converia charges a monthly package from EUR 49 plus a share of ticket revenue, and Evenium prints EUR 1 per ticket sold with ConnexMe from EUR 1,499 for a single event.

Wisembly publishes monthly prices from EUR 79, and Eventtia publishes dollar prices from USD 1,650 a year. Lyyti, evenito, Swapcard, meetyoo and Grip publish no amounts. Compare a full year of your events under each model, since a per-event plan, a yearly licence and a ticket share cross over at different volumes.

Which of these platforms keep attendee data in the EU?

Lyyti states EU-only processing with UpCloud as host. talque and Converia state servers in the EU, and Wisembly names three datacentres in Ile-de-France. Swapcard, Grip and Eventtia name AWS without a region, and Eventee, evenito and Evenium state no platform data location on the pages we reviewed.

Hosting is only one part of jurisdiction. Swapcard applies French law for EEA organisers, Eventtia contracts EU users with its Estonian entity yet states US commercial law, Evenium also lists a US entity, and Grip is a UK company. Ask for the data processing agreement and the order form before signing.

What do I need to replace when I leave Cvent?

List the modules you really use. Registration, check-in and the attendee app have counterparts in all eleven tools. Appointments and lead capture map to Grip and Swapcard, abstract management to Converia, and webcast production to meetyoo. Venue sourcing has no counterpart on the vendor pages we read, and Wisembly says it is outside its product.

Export registrations, sessions and attendee lists before the old contract ends, and rehearse the new tool on one small event. Payment setup, badge printing and stream tests are the items most often discovered late.

When should I not switch away from Cvent?

Keep Cvent if venue sourcing and hotel blocks are why you hold the licence, if a multi-year term runs past your next event, or if your programme is so large that no vendor here can show a reference event of your size. Wisembly tops out at a bespoke tier of 10,000 participants and Eventee at 1,000 per event.

Switching also loses little when the licence is mostly unused modules. In that case a narrower tool such as Eventee, Evenium or Wisembly is cheaper and quicker to learn.

Which tools suit hybrid events with a real stream?

Wisembly combines stage projection with video for remote guests, and its Business plan adds advanced video modules for hybrid sessions. meetyoo adds a managed service and a remote virtual studio. Lyyti and Eventtia describe streaming and a virtual stage, the latter in its Premium plan, and Converia lists live streams and video on demand as a side scenario.

talque describes no streaming product and Grip is lighter on streaming, so pair them with a separate streaming service. Test latency and moderation with a rehearsal, because most vendors describe streaming at marketing level.

How we selected and ranked these 11 tools

Every tool on this page is in the European Purpose directory, which means the operating company is established in Europe and we have verified that from the company register or the vendor's own legal notice rather than from a marketing page. Tools headquartered outside Europe are not eligible, however good they are.

  1. Feature verification (weight: 40%). We check each capability against the vendor's own documentation and product pages, and record what the tool does rather than what the category is assumed to include.
  2. Ease of adoption (weight: 30%). Integrations, published API access, trial availability and how much configuration stands between signing and a usable result.
  3. Value and transparency (weight: 30%). Published pricing counts in a vendor's favour; quote-only pricing is recorded as quote-only rather than estimated. We weigh what a buyer gets for the entry price, not the headline feature count.
  4. Editorial review. Every page is researched and drafted with AI assistance, and the compliance and pricing claims are checked against the vendor's documentation before it is published under the founder's editorial responsibility. The three weights above decide the order; a position is a ranking against the other European tools in this category, not an absolute score.

Vendor-reported outcomes — ROI figures, margin uplift, time saved — are labelled as vendor claims wherever they appear on this page. We have not audited them, and neither has anyone else who quotes them. Read our full editorial process for how pages are re-verified.

Frequently asked questions

No single platform fits every format. Swapcard and Grip suit exhibitor-led shows, Converia suits reviewed academic programmes, Wisembly and talque publish prices and state European hosting, Lyyti suits large invitation volumes, and Eventee suits a single conference with a branded app. Choose by event format first, then by jurisdiction and price model.

Wisembly, talque, Converia and Evenium print euro amounts, Eventtia prints dollar amounts, and Eventee lists plan sizes for 200, 500 and 1,000 attendees. Lyyti, evenito, Swapcard, meetyoo and Grip ask for a demo or a quote.

Grip is operated by Intros.at Ltd in London, registered in England and Wales, so it is British and outside the EEA, though the UK has an EU adequacy decision.

Yes for the core. All eleven tools cover registration, and Swapcard, Evenium, talque and evenito list onsite check-in or badge tools. They do not replace Cvent venue sourcing on the pages we reviewed.

Converia, a Weimar vendor, connects abstract submission, reviewers, programme, certificates and invoices with VAT handling.
