Holded takes the opposite approach to the specialist accounting products in this category: rather than doing bookkeeping well and integrating with everything else, it puts accounting, invoicing, CRM, stock, projects and HR in one place.

For a small Spanish company that would otherwise run four subscriptions and reconcile between them, that consolidation is the entire proposition. It is Barcelona-based and part of the Norwegian Visma group.

One System Instead of Four

A quote created in the CRM becomes an invoice in accounting, which reserves stock in inventory and books revenue against a project. Because it is one database, none of that requires integration or reconciliation.

The trade-off is depth: each module is competent rather than best-in-class. For a fifteen-person company that is usually the right trade; for a specialist operation it may not be.

Spanish Compliance

Spanish VAT, the required modelos, and Verifactu — the Spanish invoicing certification regime — are handled natively. As with Germany and France, these national requirements are why international packages struggle in Spain.

Ownership

Holded was acquired by Visma, the Norwegian business software group, which strengthens its long-term position and keeps ownership European. It remains operated from Barcelona with Spanish support.

Limitations to Consider

Breadth means each module is less capable than a dedicated tool — the CRM will not satisfy a real sales team and the inventory module suits simple stock rather than complex warehousing. Spanish compliance features do not transfer to other markets. Higher tiers are needed for most modules, so the entry price is not representative.
