Full review
Flinkster's imprint states that the website belongs to Deutsche Bahn Connect GmbH, Mainzer Landstraße 169-175, 60327 Frankfurt am Main, registered at Amtsgericht Frankfurt am Main under HRB 41769. The footer shows Deutsche Bahn AG as the group name.
The home page puts prices first: a small car with fuel included at EUR 5.90 per hour up to EUR 59 per day, plus EUR 0.36 per km and a EUR 1.90 booking fee. A 25th-anniversary offer announces seven days from EUR 250 including 100 free kilometres from December.
Prices and fees
Weekend caps are published: a maximum of EUR 49 on Saturday or Sunday with 20 free kilometres, and EUR 129 for the weekend rate with 50 free kilometres for the Polo. The Golf Variant and VW T-Roc are listed at EUR 6.90 per hour and EUR 69 per day.
An optional EUR 14.90 reduces the deductible from EUR 1,500 to a maximum of EUR 300. Each price carries the booking fee and the kilometre price on top.
Where the cars are
The home page promises car sharing directly at the station, and a section for business customers exists. The location list was not part of the pages we read, so the number of stations is not stated here.
The terms are in German, with a conciliation board for travel and transport named for disputes, and the venue is the seat of Deutsche Bahn Connect GmbH.
Compared with Turo
Turo offers many private cars in many cities. Flinkster offers a limited set of models at fixed points, which is useful when you arrive by train and need a car on the other end of a journey.
The privacy notice is modular, covering website and app, and lists the rights of data subjects under the GDPR.
Where it falls short
Small set of models at fixed stations and no private-owner marketplace. Prices exclude the kilometre charge and booking fee. The number of stations was not read, and data location is not stated. For a free-floating option in Germany see MILES Mobility.
Who Flinkster fits
Train travellers and city dwellers in Germany who want a car at the station and like prices that are written out before registration.
