Detailed Review
Coinmerce asks you to choose one account type at a time: a Yield account, where assets can be lent for rewards, or a Custody account, where they are only stored. The home page advertises rewards of up to 14% APY.
The company page names Coinmerce B.V. (KvK 70036969) at Beechavenue 140, Schiphol-Rijk, and says it holds an AFM authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider under MiCA.
Two account types
The fee table shows the same 0.25% for buying, selling and swapping on both accounts. The custody account adds EUR 1 per month and 1% per year on holdings above EUR 10,000, while the yield account has no subscription.
Yield fees deducted from the gross proceeds can range up to 75% according to the same table.
What MiCAR covers
The site states that Yield Services are not covered by MiCAR or other sectoral EU legislation and do not offer the same safeguards as the MiCAR-regulated services. That is a clear disclosure and worth reading before choosing the yield account.
Margin and borrowing
The fee table also lists spot margin with borrowing costs per year (for example 4.5% on Bitcoin) and a 2% liquidation fee.
Limitations to Consider
One account type at a time means you cannot hold yield and custody balances side by side. Yield is outside MiCAR protection and up to 75% of gross proceeds can be deducted as fees. The older terms article on its support site still states that Coinmerce is not supervised by the AFM, which conflicts with the company page, so check which version applies. The 0.25% flat trading fee is above that at Finst.
Who Should Use Coinmerce
Dutch retail users who want a local broker and understand the difference between regulated custody and unregulated yield.
