Our review
The CaptainBook privacy policy names CaptainBook I.K.E., Petrou Protopapadaki 13, 84300 Naxos, Greece as controller, with a Greek VAT number. It says the company is a processor for guest data that operators enter, and the operator decides what happens to it.
The About page says CaptainBook.io was founded in 2021 by Jerome Bajou and Luca Lattanzio, and that the first cloud app dates to 2016 on Naxos. It claims about 500 customers.
Plan structure
The pricing page lists Starter (10 experiences, 3 user accounts, 1 resource), Extended (50 experiences, 10 users, 5 resources, 20 partners) and Ultra (100 experiences, unlimited users, 20 resources). Each plan states 0% on offline and online channels and a 14-day free trial.
Where the fees come from
Direct bookings are free of fees, but OTA connections are not. GetYourGuide, Viator, GTTD and Project Expedition connections cost € 14.99 per product and month, and other OTA channels cost 3.5% on Starter, 3% on Extended and 2.5% on Ultra. Operators who sell mostly through OTAs should add these up.
Against FareHarbor
FareHarbor lists a mobile app, point of sale and an agent product. CaptainBook lists a mobile app, channel and resource managers and a website builder. The pricing page also lists two MCP servers (statistics and inventory), which is not something the FareHarbor pages we read mention.
Known limits
Starter caps products at 10 experiences and has no partners, affiliates, SMS or digital waivers. The text we captured gives no data hosting location. The company is young compared with others in this list, with the founding year given as 2021.
