European Programmatic Advertising Platforms

A demand-side platform decides, thousands of times per second, which person sees which ad, and it keeps a log of the device and audience data behind each decision. These European platforms cover self-serve buying, digital out-of-home, connected TV, retargeting and contextual activation, with contracting entities in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect the order tools appear in. It never buys a listing: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects whether a tool is listed. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • Adform in Copenhagen combines a DSP, an ad server and a DMP in its FLOW interface and lists MRC accreditation and TAG Platinum status on its own memberships page.
  • BidTheatre in Stockholm sells self-serve buying with an onboarding project and a customer success team, and says its costs and fees are shown inside the platform.
  • Displayce in Bordeaux trades programmatic digital out-of-home only, and its about page names JCDecaux as majority shareholder since 2022.
  • Criteo assigns its contracting entity by audience location, so a German campaign goes to Criteo GmbH under German law while US audiences go to Criteo Corp. under New York law.
  • Adcash in Tallinn is the one platform here that publishes a starting amount for self-serve campaigns, EUR/USD 100, and its advertiser page limits itself to performance traffic.

European programmatic advertising platforms are demand-side and related ad tech products, run by companies in the EU, EEA or UK, that let agencies and advertisers buy display, video, connected TV, audio and out-of-home impressions under a European contract and law.

Every European programmatic advertising platform reviewed

#1 Adnuntius

Oslo, Norway Quoted per order form. Standard support is EUR 100 per started hour and professional services EUR 175 per hour when an order form is silent (rates page, checked 31 October 2026) Demo on request

Best for: Agencies, retailers and publishers wanting a direct supply path plus an ad server of their own

  • Operating company. Adnuntius
  • Jurisdiction. EEA, not EU (Norway)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages reviewed; data residency is described as under the customer's control
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Trade Desk, Google Ad Manager, Amazon DSP

Adnuntius is an Oslo ad technology company that sells three connected parts: a marketplace where advertisers buy straight from publisher and retail media inventory, an API-first ad server, and a DMP with CRM matching. The platform page lists display, native, video, streaming, DOOH and sponsored products, and a Prebid wrapper lets it run beside other SSPs and Google Ad Manager in one auction.

The company has offices in Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen, an engineering group in Australia, and reports more than 1,000 customers. Its general terms choose Norwegian law and the courts of Oslo, and the contract documents and service rates sit on public pages. Marketplace fees are not shown, and the efficiency figures, such as 85 percent of spend reaching working media, are the vendor's own claims.

What Adnuntius does well

  • Buys straight from publisher and retail media inventory
  • Marketplace, ad server and DMP from one vendor
  • Prebid wrapper shares an auction with existing SSPs
  • General terms, DPAs and service rates are public
  • Norwegian governing law, courts of Oslo

Where Adnuntius falls short

  • Marketplace fees do not appear on the site
  • Thinner reach beyond the Nordics
  • Efficiency numbers are the vendor's own
  • Fewer audience marketplaces on the buy side than larger DSPs

Standout feature. Adnuntius pairs a buyer marketplace with the same ad server that retailers use to build their own retail media networks.

#2 BidTheatre

Stockholm, Sweden Not published; the vendor says all costs and fees are outlined in detail inside the platform Demo on request

Best for: Media agencies in the Nordics and wider Europe wanting an in-house trading desk

  • Operating company. Vitec BidTheatre AB
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Sweden)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages reviewed
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Trade Desk, Google Display & Video 360

BidTheatre is a Stockholm self-serve demand-side platform run by Vitec BidTheatre AB, which the vendor says has operated since 2012. Buyers can trade display, video, audio and native across desktop, mobile, connected TV and out-of-home through open and private marketplaces, with supply partners connecting through OpenRTB only. An estimation tool returns expected impressions, price and click-through rates before launch.

The vendor positions itself as independent and says it will not own media, and it states that all costs and fees are outlined inside the platform. The FAQ names its limits: no paid search, and no Meta or TikTok buying. It reports 200+ clients, supports TCF 2.2, and answers CRM data questions case by case, with no list price on the site.

What BidTheatre does well

  • Self-serve seat backed by onboarding and customer success
  • CTV, DOOH, audio and native bought in one flow
  • Creative editor and estimation tool inside the platform
  • Supports TCF 2.2
  • Fees are described as visible inside the platform

Where BidTheatre falls short

  • No list prices on the site
  • No paid search and no Meta or TikTok inventory
  • Smaller worldwide footprint than the largest DSPs
  • CRM activation is judged per case

Standout feature. BidTheatre bases its pitch on refusing to own media and on showing every fee inside the buying interface.

#3 Active Agent

Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany Founded 2013 Not published; contact the vendor Demo on request

Best for: German-speaking agencies adding TV, cinema and DOOH to display buying

  • Operating company. Virtual Minds GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages reviewed; the vendor cites German and European data protection rules
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP

Active Agent is the demand-side platform of Virtual Minds GmbH in Freiburg im Breisgau, registered at the local court under HRB 724928. Beyond display, native and video it lists programmatic cinema, digital audio and radio, linear and programmatic TV, and DOOH booking, with exclusive pre-bid integrations named for Otto PNTA and Weischer TRACE.

The company history says Active Agent AG was founded in 2013, that subsidiaries merged into Virtual Minds GmbH in 2021, and that ProSiebenSat.1 invested in 2015 and later took the company over fully. Sister products are the Adition ad server, The Adex data platform and the Yieldlab SSP. Pricing is on request, access starts with a contact form, and the product pages are mainly written for Germany.

What Active Agent does well

  • TV, cinema, DOOH and radio next to display in one DSP
  • Pre-bid brand safety integrations
  • Deal management with detailed bid strategies
  • German GmbH with an HRB number in the imprint
  • ID-agnostic design with several DMP connections

Where Active Agent falls short

  • No list prices and no self-sign-up
  • Focused on the German market
  • Belongs to a broadcaster group, per its history page
  • Product pages are written chiefly for German buyers

Standout feature. Active Agent books programmatic TV, cinema and radio from the same interface that buys display.

#4 Adform

Copenhagen, Denmark Not published; contact the vendor Demo on request

Best for: Agencies and large advertisers wanting buying, serving and measurement in one stack

  • Operating company. Adform

The memberships page lists MRC accreditation for display and video served impressions and viewability, TAG Platinum, the IAB UK Gold Standard, and TAG brand safety and transparency programmes. What Adform does well

  • DSP, ad server and DMP share one interface
  • MRC accreditation and TAG programmes on a public page
  • ID Fusion links 40+ identifiers
  • Offices in many European countries
  • Partner ecosystem for data and measurement

Where Adform falls short

  • Prices are on request only
  • Contracting entity is not named on the pages reviewed
  • Large for a small advertiser
  • Onboarding runs through sales

Standout feature. Adform is the one platform here that lists MRC accreditation and a TAG Platinum status for its buying stack on a public page.

#5 RTB House

Warsaw, Poland Not published; campaigns are arranged with the vendor Demo on request

Best for: E-commerce and app advertisers that put budget into lower-funnel results

  • Operating company. RTB House S.A.
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Poland)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages reviewed
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Trade Desk, Criteo, Google Display & Video 360

Zlota 61/101 as a data controller, with subsidiaries in France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and other countries. It applies deep learning to first-party signals for retargeting, acquisition, quality traffic and demand generation on web and app.

The homepage says first-party data is activated without being pooled or sold. The about page reports ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for all entities that process client data, IAB Tech Lab membership, Prebid certified partner status and a seat on the NAI board. Results of 57 percent added scale at set ROAS belong to the vendor, and a US subsidiary, RTB House Inc., means the order form decides who contracts.

What RTB House does well

  • Deep learning models aimed at lower-funnel outcomes
  • Says it does not pool or sell first-party data
  • ISO/IEC 27001 certification stated for all entities
  • Covers web and app
  • Warsaw parent with subsidiaries across the EU

Where RTB House falls short

  • Narrow performance remit
  • Prices arranged per campaign
  • A US subsidiary exists, so check who signs
  • Performance numbers come from the vendor

Standout feature. RTB House builds its bidding on deep learning models and uses them for lower-funnel results only.

#6 Displayce

Bordeaux, France Founded 2014 Not published; book a demo Demo on request

Best for: Brands and agencies buying street, mall, airport and transit screens programmatically

  • Operating company. Displayce SAS
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages reviewed
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Trade Desk (DOOH), Hivestack, Vistar Media

Displayce is a Bordeaux company that offers a DSP for advertisers and a DMP for media owners, both for programmatic digital out-of-home. The DSP page claims real-time trading on 1.8M screens from 660 media owners in more than 80 countries. CampaignAI converts a brief into a contextual plan and Pulse raises delivery on prime-time screens near large events.

The privacy policy names Displayce SAS, and the about page says the company started in 2014, raised EUR 850K in 2016 and has had JCDecaux as majority shareholder since 2022. It reports nine offices. Dynamic creative can follow weather, traffic, pollution, price or stock, and measurement offers brand lift studies and drive-to-store analytics. Pricing is not published and a demo comes first.

What Displayce does well

  • One focus, programmatic DOOH
  • Screen inventory in 80+ countries
  • CampaignAI and Pulse planning aids
  • Also offers a DMP to media owners
  • Creative can change with weather, traffic and similar signals

Where Displayce falls short

  • Covers out-of-home only
  • Prices are not published
  • Media owner holds the majority stake
  • Access starts with a demo

Standout feature. Displayce treats out-of-home as its only product and trades it on the same bid-based logic as online display.

#7 Equativ

Paris, France Not published; request a demo Demo on request

Best for: Advertisers and agencies wanting curated deals and CTV reach from a partner that also sells supply

  • Operating company. Equativ
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages reviewed
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Trade Desk curated deals, Amazon DSP

Equativ is a Paris company that grew out of Smart AdServer inside a premium publisher. Its legal notice gives a share capital of EUR 632,095 and registration at the Paris trade register under RCS 487 613 481, at 44-48 Rue de Chateaudun. Maestro is its advertiser platform, described as AI-powered with embedded agents.

Curation is the main lever: buyers combine their own data with SSP supply to make named deal packages, and the vendor claims over 500 self-serve clients and 30K deals created. CTV and retail media sit in the same account. Because Equativ also runs the SSP and the ad server, it works on both sides of the market, and the New York office and Sharethrough name are on its site.

What Equativ does well

  • Self-serve curation platform
  • CTV and retail media inside one account
  • Registered in Paris with a public RCS number
  • AI agents built into Maestro
  • SSP and ad server allow deal-level control

Where Equativ falls short

  • The site reflects sell-side origins
  • Prices are on request
  • Acts on both sides of the market
  • New York office and a Sharethrough connection

Standout feature. Equativ lets a buyer curate deal packages on top of supply from an SSP that the same company operates.

#8 Azerion

Netherlands (HQ city not confirmed), Netherlands Founded 2013 Not published; contact the vendor Demo on request

Best for: Advertisers wanting gaming, content and omnichannel DSP buying from one Dutch group

  • Operating company. Azerion Group N.V.
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Netherlands)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages reviewed
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Trade Desk, Google Display & Video 360

Azerion Group N.V. is a Dutch digital advertising and gaming group that sells the Hawk DSP. The Hawk site lists DOOH, desktop, mobile, tablet, TV and in-game screens, in display, video and audio formats, and splits the product into planning tools, activation and a research layer. The Azerion Identity Graph combines data sources for targeting.

Founded in 2013, the group also distributes games and sells owned and third-party content inventory, so some of the supply a buyer reaches belongs to Azerion. The publisher seller terms cite Dutch law and the courts of Amsterdam, buyer terms were not read, the Hawk site footer shows 2023, and the headquarters city is not stated.

What Azerion does well

  • Omnichannel DSP that reaches in-game and DOOH screens
  • Identity graph for targeting
  • Brand lift and store visit measurement
  • Dutch parent that publishes a privacy notice
  • Owned gaming and content inventory

Where Azerion falls short

  • The group owns media, so the buying side is not neutral
  • Hawk contracting entity is not stated
  • Prices are not published
  • Hawk site footer shows 2023

Standout feature. Azerion is the group here that combines a DSP with its own game distribution and in-game ad inventory.

#9 Criteo

Paris, France Not published; contact sales Demo on request

Best for: Retailers and brands wanting performance retargeting plus commerce data from one vendor

  • Operating company. Criteo (contracting entity varies by audience location)
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages reviewed
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Trade Desk, Google Display & Video 360, Amazon DSP

Criteo is a Paris commerce media company, with its Paris office at 32 Rue Blanche. A May 2025 contracting entities document sets the contract party by audience location: Criteo SAS under French law for French and Swiss audiences, Criteo B.V. for the Netherlands and Belgium, Criteo GmbH for Germany and Austria, Criteo Ltd for the UK, and Criteo Corp. under New York law for US audiences.

The products centre on commerce: dynamic retargeting with product ads, acquisition and retention, predictive bidding on the predicted value of each user, the Shopper Graph, and retail media through Commerce Max, Commerce Grid and Commerce Yield. The company page claims 3,500+ employees, 26 offices and 17,000+ customers, all vendor figures. Pricing needs a conversation with sales.

What Criteo does well

  • Retargeting and acquisition in one account
  • Retail media products for brands and retailers
  • Local entities and local law in many EU countries
  • Predictive bidding and the Shopper Graph
  • Large customer base, by the vendor's count

Where Criteo falls short

  • A US entity serves US and Latin American audiences
  • Centred on commerce and retargeting
  • Prices need a sales contact
  • Few channels outside commerce and retail media

Standout feature. Criteo changes the legal entity and law in the contract according to the country of the audience selected.

#10 Seedtag

Madrid, Spain Founded 2014 Not published; talk to an expert Demo on request

Best for: Brands choosing context-based targeting over user-level tracking

  • Operating company. Seedtag Advertising, S.L.
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Spain)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages reviewed
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Trade Desk contextual buying, Google Display & Video 360

Seedtag is a Madrid contextual advertising company that, according to its about page, Jorge Poyatos and Albert Nieto founded in 2014. The legal notice names Seedtag Advertising, S.L. in the Madrid Mercantile Register. It reports 700+ employees, 16 markets, 15 offices and a network of more than 30,000 publishers.

Its Liz AI reads the context around an ad slot, and campaigns run on display, online video and connected TV, with a creative studio and a curation platform. The homepage claims 3.5 times higher neural engagement than non-contextual ads, which is the vendor's research. Buying is managed through a talk-to-an-expert flow, no price is published, and the contracting entity for campaigns outside Europe is not stated.

What Seedtag does well

  • Targets by context, not by user-level tracking
  • CTV, video and display from a single partner
  • Spanish S.L. with Madrid register details
  • Network of 30,000+ publishers
  • Research and measurement programme

Where Seedtag falls short

  • Managed service with no self-serve seat
  • Prices are not published
  • Engagement figures come from the vendor
  • Entity for campaigns outside Europe is not stated

Standout feature. Seedtag treats the meaning of the surrounding page, not the profile of the reader, as the core targeting signal.

#11 Adcash

Tallinn, Estonia Founded 2007 Campaigns from as little as EUR/USD 100 according to the advertiser page (checked 31 October 2026); format-level CPMs not published Demo on request

Best for: Performance and affiliate advertisers buying volume traffic in self-serve

  • Operating company. Adcash OÜ
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Estonia)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages reviewed
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Trade Desk (performance traffic), PropellerAds, Google Display & Video 360

Adcash is a Tallinn self-serve platform run by Adcash OÜ, registry number 12141869, with its seat at Ahtri 6. The about page says it began in 2007 as an affiliate platform, turned into an advertising platform in 2016, adopted the Performance DSP+ label in 2018 and added video ads and auto rules in 2025.

Advertisers choose among pop-under, push, in-page push, interstitial, display and video traffic from 200+ supply partners, with smart bidding, CPA target bidding and a Voluum Automizer integration. The advertiser page names campaigns from as little as EUR/USD 100. The verticals it lists include iGaming and adult, format CPMs are not published, and the USD 35.88M fraud saving it reports is its own figure.

What Adcash does well

  • Quick self-serve setup from a low starting amount
  • Several direct-response formats under one login
  • Smart bidding and automatic rules
  • Estonian OÜ with a public registry number
  • Tutorials and a knowledge centre

Where Adcash falls short

  • Aimed at performance and affiliate buyers, not brand campaigns
  • Listed verticals include iGaming and adult
  • CPMs by format are not shown
  • The fraud-savings number is self-reported

Standout feature. Adcash is the platform here where an advertiser can start a campaign alone from EUR/USD 100.

#12 Weborama

Levallois-Perret, France Founded 1998 Not published; contact the vendor Demo on request

Best for: Advertisers wanting intent-based audiences and an activation partner from the same vendor

  • Operating company. Weborama
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. Vendor states data is built on the open web and processed in Europe
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Trade Desk audience data

Weborama is a French data company at 36 rue Raspail in Levallois-Perret, registered at the RCS of Nanterre under number 418663894, and says it has existed since its creation in Paris in 1998. Webo Intent converts behavioural, contextual and semantic signals into scored audiences, with the page stating 200M+ profiles, 10B+ signals and 500M+ URLs.

A hybrid DMP/CDP connects first-party and open-web data, persona digitalization and CRM enrichment add detail to customer files, and activation runs through display, video, CTV, audio and in-app with trading expertise attached. The vendor says processing is in Europe. No self-serve seat is described, brand lift of +25 percent is measured by Weborama itself, and the about page notes a presence in the United States.

What Weborama does well

  • Intent scores on a large profile base
  • Hybrid DMP/CDP for first-party data
  • Display, video, CTV, audio and in-app activation
  • Processing in Europe, per the vendor
  • RCS registration is public

Where Weborama falls short

  • No self-serve trading seat
  • Prices are not published
  • Results are measured by the vendor
  • The about page mentions a US presence

Standout feature. Weborama sells a dynamic intent score on a large profile base and activates it through a managed team.

How do I choose a European programmatic platform when I have a single budget line?

Start with the channel that carries the money. Adform, BidTheatre and Active Agent are the three listed here with several channels in one interface, while Displayce, RTB House, Seedtag and Weborama each cover a narrower job. A buyer who splits spend across display, CTV and audio will want one of the first three. A buyer who spends mostly on retargeting will get more from RTB House or Criteo.

Then sort by operating model. BidTheatre describes itself as self-serve, and Adcash lets an advertiser sign up and start. Seedtag, Weborama and RTB House work as managed relationships and show no login for buyers on the pages reviewed. Decide how much trading you want to do in house before you book demos.

Which of these platforms publish what they charge?

Very few. Adnuntius lists support at EUR 100 per started hour and professional services at EUR 175 per hour, applied when an order form is silent, and its marketplace fees are not published. Adcash gives a starting amount of EUR/USD 100 for campaigns and no format CPMs. BidTheatre says costs and fees are outlined inside the platform, which you see after onboarding.

Adform, Active Agent, RTB House, Displayce, Equativ, Azerion, Criteo, Seedtag and Weborama ask you to contact sales or book a demo. Ask each for the fee in writing as a percentage or a CPM markup, because the tool pages cannot tell you.

What should a European contract say about jurisdiction and data location?

Read the order form for three things: the signing entity, the governing law and the court. Adnuntius cites Norwegian law with the courts of Oslo, which is EEA rather than EU. Criteo splits by audience: Criteo SAS for France and Switzerland, Criteo B.V. for Benelux, Criteo GmbH for Germany and Austria, Criteo Ltd for the UK, and Criteo Corp. for the US.

None of the tool pages states a data centre location for its platform. Weborama says its data is built on the open web and processed in Europe, and Active Agent cites German and European data protection rules, but both are vendor statements. RTB House and Adform list a US office or subsidiary, so ask which entity signs a given campaign.

How do I move campaigns from The Trade Desk without losing performance?

Run the two seats in parallel for one full campaign cycle. Rebuild conversion tags, upload first-party audiences and set the same viewability and brand safety rules in the new platform before you shift budget. Adnuntius supports this approach, since its Prebid wrapper runs beside other SSPs in the same auction.

Move one lane first: all out-of-home to Displayce, or all retargeting to RTB House or Criteo. A single lane gives a clean before-and-after comparison, and the learning period of the new platform does not contaminate the rest of the account. Judge the pilot on your own logs, since every efficiency figure on the vendor pages is the vendor's.

When is staying with a US demand-side platform the better choice?

Stay when the work depends on inventory or integrations that the European platforms do not list. BidTheatre says plainly that Meta and TikTok do not sell their ad space programmatically, which applies to any buyer. Several tools here are narrow by design: Displayce is DOOH only, Adcash sells performance traffic, and Seedtag works through contextual partnerships.

Also stay when contract risk is low and the switching cost is high, for example a client with a long-running account and no data protection objection. A hybrid setup is a legitimate result: keep the current seat for broad reach and give a European platform the lanes where its contract and specialisation fit.

Which platforms own media, and does that matter for a buyer?

Azerion distributes games and sells content inventory, Displayce has JCDecaux as majority shareholder, Active Agent belongs to a broadcaster group per its history page, and Equativ operates an SSP and ad server next to its advertiser platform. BidTheatre positions itself the other way and says it will not own or operate media assets.

Ownership matters when you want the buying side to be neutral between publishers. It matters less for a campaign built around the owner's own strength, such as in-game placements at Azerion or screens in the JCDecaux network. Ask how a platform treats its own inventory in the auction and in reporting.

How we selected and ranked these 12 tools

Every tool on this page is in the European Purpose directory, which means the operating company is established in Europe and we have verified that from the company register or the vendor's own legal notice rather than from a marketing page. Tools headquartered outside Europe are not eligible, however good they are.

  1. Feature verification (weight: 40%). We check each capability against the vendor's own documentation and product pages, and record what the tool does rather than what the category is assumed to include.
  2. Ease of adoption (weight: 30%). Integrations, published API access, trial availability and how much configuration stands between signing and a usable result.
  3. Value and transparency (weight: 30%). Published pricing counts in a vendor's favour; quote-only pricing is recorded as quote-only rather than estimated. We weigh what a buyer gets for the entry price, not the headline feature count.
  4. Editorial review. Every page is researched and drafted with AI assistance, and the compliance and pricing claims are checked against the vendor's documentation before it is published under the founder's editorial responsibility. The three weights above decide the order; a position is a ranking against the other European tools in this category, not an absolute score.

Vendor-reported outcomes — ROI figures, margin uplift, time saved — are labelled as vendor claims wherever they appear on this page. We have not audited them, and neither has anyone else who quotes them. Read our full editorial process for how pages are re-verified.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the channel. For a multi-channel trading seat, compare Adform, BidTheatre and Active Agent. For publishers and retailers who also want an ad server, Adnuntius. For out-of-home, Displayce. For retargeting, RTB House and Criteo. For contextual targeting, Seedtag. For performance traffic, Adcash. No single tool wins on all of these.

Adform is the closest in scope, with a DSP, ad server and DMP in one interface and offices in many European countries. BidTheatre is the closest self-serve option, and Active Agent adds TV, cinema and radio. None of the pages reviewed claims feature parity with The Trade Desk.

Yes. Displayce is a DOOH specialist in Bordeaux with a DSP for advertisers and a DMP for media owners. BidTheatre and Active Agent also list DOOH beside display, and Azerion lists it among the Hawk DSP channels.

Seedtag in Madrid sells contextual campaigns on display, online video and connected TV using its Liz AI. BidTheatre also lists a contextual engine among its targeting options, and Weborama scores intent from contextual and semantic signals next to behavioural ones.

No free trial is listed. Every tool in this category shows a demo on request, and Adcash is the only one with a published starting amount for a first campaign, EUR/USD 100.

Adform lists an office in New York, RTB House has a US subsidiary, RTB House Inc., Equativ shows a New York office and the Sharethrough name, and Criteo has Criteo Corp. for US audiences. Weborama notes a US presence on its about page. Check the signing entity in each order form.
