European Job Boards

A job board sees who is looking for work, who is hiring and what salary people expect, which makes it one of the more revealing data sets in a company's recruiting stack. These European boards cover national markets, graduate hiring, English-language hiring in Germany and employer-side distribution, and each one contracts through a company in the EU, the UK or Switzerland.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect the order tools appear in. It never buys a listing: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects whether a tool is listed. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • JobTeaser, a Paris company founded in 2009, reaches students and recent graduates through the career centres of about 800 institutions, which makes it the graduate specialist of this list.
  • Arbeitnow publishes the simplest price in the category, €199 per job post for 30 days, and it is run by one named person in Berlin.
  • JOIN of Switzerland is the only multiposting tool here with a free tier, but Switzerland sits outside the EEA under an adequacy decision.
  • Jobindex (Denmark), karriere.at (Austria), jobs.ch (Switzerland) and InfoJobs (Spain) are single-country portals, and none of them publishes employer prices on the pages we checked.
  • Reed is the only UK board in the category that lists entry prices, from £89 plus VAT for a single ad, and Adzuna is the closest to a search engine with its public API and 19 country sites.

European job boards are the websites where employers publish vacancies and candidates search and apply, run by a company contracted in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, and the European part matters because a board holds CVs, search histories and salary expectations that are personal data under GDPR.

#1 JobTeaser

Paris, France Founded 2009 Pricing on request Demo on request

Best for: Employers hiring interns, trainees and graduates in volume

  • Operating company. JobTeaser SA
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. European Union (AWS EMEA SARL, Luxembourg)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Indeed (for graduate and internship hiring)

JobTeaser is a recruiting platform from Paris that places itself inside university career centres, so a student meets an employer through the school that already guides their search. The vendor says about 800 institutions use it, and describes a network of around 5 million students and recent graduates with about 3,000 companies in 25 countries. Those numbers are the company's own and should be checked per country before a purchase.

JobTeaser SA is registered in Paris under RCS 508 271 715, and its legal notice names Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL in Luxembourg as the host of the site data. It was created in 2009, and in 2022 it merged with Graduateland, a student network. Pricing is quote-based, and access to the students of any given school depends on that school having partnered with the platform.

What JobTeaser does well

  • Sits inside the career centres of about 800 institutions
  • Only students and recent graduates see the ads
  • French publisher with data hosted in the EU
  • Employer profiles and recruitment events next to the ads
  • Network in 25 countries, according to the vendor

Where JobTeaser falls short

  • Prices are not published
  • Wrong place to look for senior or experienced staff
  • School partnerships limit who you reach
  • Fewer vacancies than a general aggregator

Standout feature. JobTeaser is the only board here that reaches candidates through their university, not through a search box.

#2 Arbeitnow

Berlin, Germany Founded 2021 €199 per job post, listed for 30 days Demo on request

Best for: Small companies hiring skilled workers in Germany, locally or from abroad

  • Operating company. Adithya Srinivasan (Arbeitnow)
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Indeed (for English-speaking hires in Germany)

Arbeitnow is an English-language job board for Germany, started in 2021 by a software developer who moved from India to Berlin in 2018. It charges €199 per job post, goes live right after payment, appears in Google Jobs and stays on the homepage for 30 days. The site says around 48% of its candidates are in Germany and the others are abroad, which suits employers willing to sponsor a visa.

The imprint names Adithya Srinivasan with a Berlin address and no company or register number, so the operator is an individual and not a registered business. Listings can be filtered for visa sponsorship, relocation and a four-day week. The free job API needs no key, and a private endpoint is available by request for a monthly fee. Hosting location is not stated.

What Arbeitnow does well

  • One price per vacancy, published on the page
  • Visa sponsorship and relocation filters
  • Shown in Google Jobs
  • Job API with no key required
  • Named responsible person in the German imprint

Where Arbeitnow falls short

  • One person operates it
  • No CV database or applicant tracking described
  • Strength limited to Germany
  • No hosting location given

Standout feature. Arbeitnow publishes both a flat price per vacancy and a free machine-readable feed of its listings.

#3 JOIN

Switzerland Founded 2018 Free tier / paid plans per month Demo on request

Best for: Companies that hire occasionally and want one vacancy distributed to many boards

  • Operating company. JOIN Solutions AG
  • Jurisdiction. Switzerland (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. European Union
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Greenhouse, Workable, LinkedIn Talent

JOIN is a Swiss hiring tool from JOIN Solutions AG, founded in 2018, that begins with distribution: on the free tier a company publishes a vacancy, sends it to a wide set of job boards and aggregators, and manages the applications that return. Paid plans add pipeline and collaboration features. For an employer who hires twice a year, the order of reach first and process second fits the workload.

Switzerland is covered by an EU adequacy decision but is outside the EEA, so a rule requiring an EU-established supplier is not met by the Swiss contracting company, and the German GmbH in the imprint is a subsidiary. Our tool page lists EU data hosting. A free tier in recruiting usually means promotion is paid, so read what the free plan includes before assuming distribution is free.

What JOIN does well

  • Free tier that publishes and spreads a vacancy
  • Reach across boards and aggregators without setup
  • Quick to start, no implementation project
  • Swiss company with EU data hosting

Where JOIN falls short

  • Swiss, not EU-established, which some procurement rules reject
  • Paid promotion is the revenue model, so check the free scope
  • Selection features lighter than softgarden or Teamtailor

Standout feature. JOIN turns the choice of which board to use into a settings question, since one vacancy goes to many boards at once.

#4 Jobindex

Valby (Copenhagen), Denmark Employer pricing not published on pages checked Demo on request

Best for: Employers recruiting in Denmark and Danish-speaking candidates

  • Operating company. Jobindex A/S
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Denmark)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Indeed, LinkedIn Jobs

Jobindex is a Danish portal run by Jobindex A/S, registered under CVR 21367087 at Carl Jacobsens Vej 29-31 in Valby near Copenhagen. Its front page showed about 35,400 vacancies on 29 October 2026, in Danish with an English toggle. Candidates build a profile, switch on a job agent that mails new matches, and can let employers find that profile in return.

The privacy policy, which we read in Danish, describes visibility settings, a block list for named companies, a named data protection officer and a video interview function with rules for retention. Section headings also mention an AI search assistant and personality and talent tests. Employer prices were not visible, and the hosting location is not stated.

What Jobindex does well

  • Danish company with CVR number and named DPO
  • Candidates can hide a profile or block companies
  • Job agent and AI search assistant for candidates
  • Video interviews inside the platform
  • English version of the site on a toggle

Where Jobindex falls short

  • Privacy policy and most of the interface in Danish
  • No employer prices on the pages checked
  • Covers Denmark only
  • No hosting location given

Standout feature. Jobindex lets candidates block named companies from seeing their profile, a control the policy describes in detail.

#5 karriere.at

Linz, Austria Founded 2004 Pricing on request (personal consultation) Demo on request

Best for: Employers recruiting in Austria who want one portal for ads and talent search

  • Operating company. karriere.at GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Austria)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Indeed, StepStone

karriere.at is an Austrian portal that has operated since 2004, with offices at Donaupromenade 1 in Linz and Jakov-Lind-Straße 2 in Vienna and, according to its company page, about 200 people. The imprint names karriere.at GmbH with Firmenbuch number FN 256668d and the registered court in Linz. Candidates register free for a CV, applications, messages, job alerts and a watch list.

Employers buy three product lines: job ads, active talent search and employer branding, and a product advisor suggests a mix. The site claims 85% awareness among the working-age population, up to 1.3 million job seekers a month and up to 41,000 a day, all vendor claims we did not verify. Prices come through a consultation, and the site is in German.

What karriere.at does well

  • Austrian GmbH with Firmenbuch number published
  • Ads, talent search and branding bought in one place
  • Candidate accounts with CV, alerts and recommendations
  • Payroll cost calculator for employers
  • Offices in Linz and Vienna

Where karriere.at falls short

  • Prices only on request
  • German-language interface
  • Austria is the only market
  • Reach numbers come from the vendor

Standout feature. karriere.at combines ads and active talent search for Austria in one account, so outreach is not a separate purchase.

#6 jobs.ch

Zurich, Switzerland Employer pricing not published on pages checked Demo on request

Best for: Employers hiring in Switzerland across German, French and English audiences

  • Operating company. JobCloud AG
  • Jurisdiction. Switzerland (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Indeed, Glassdoor (salary data)

jobs.ch is a Swiss job board operated by JobCloud AG in Zurich, with a second company, JobCloud SA in Les Acacias, for French-speaking Switzerland. Candidates filter by industry and language, save ads, track applications and use a salary estimator for the Swiss market. A CV builder and an AI-assisted tool that drafts motivation letters for a specific advert are part of the candidate side.

The about page says more than 80,000 new offers appear each month and over 49,000 companies use the platform, and it calls the board the most used in Switzerland; these are vendor claims. Switzerland is outside the EU, so an EU-establishment rule is not met by JobCloud AG. Employer prices and the hosting location were not visible on the pages we could open.

What jobs.ch does well

  • German, French and English interface
  • Salary estimator for Switzerland
  • CV builder and AI-assisted letters for candidates
  • Company profiles to present the employer
  • Imprint naming two Swiss group companies

Where jobs.ch falls short

  • Swiss, so not EU-established
  • No employer prices shown
  • Covers Switzerland only
  • No hosting location given

Standout feature. jobs.ch puts a Swiss salary estimator on the same board as the ads, in three languages.

#7 Adzuna

London, United Kingdom Founded 2011 Advertiser pricing not published on pages checked Demo on request

Best for: Job seekers comparing salaries and publishers or recruiters wanting aggregated distribution

  • Operating company. Adzuna Limited
  • Jurisdiction. United Kingdom (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Indeed

Adzuna is a job search engine from London that gathers vacancies from many sources into a single search, launched in the UK in 2011. Its terms name Adzuna Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 7301894 at 212 New Kings Road. The UK site says it has over 1 million live jobs, and the company lists country sites for 19 markets.

Candidates get salary pages by job title and place, ValueMyCV and ApplyIQ, while businesses get the Adzuna Intelligence API and a partner programme for publishers. The company has offices in London, Minneapolis, Paris and Sydney and bought GetWork in 2022 and Seiza in 2024. We read only the UK terms, so check the contracting entity on any other country site.

What Adzuna does well

  • Salary statistics and CV valuation next to the search
  • Business API and a partner programme
  • UK company number shown in the terms
  • Country sites for 19 markets
  • More than 1 million live UK jobs

Where Adzuna falls short

  • Listings come from other sources and vary in quality
  • Advertiser prices are not published
  • The UK is outside the EU
  • Group offices in the United States and Australia

Standout feature. Adzuna is the one board here that works as a search engine like Indeed and also sells the labour market data behind it.

#8 Xing

Hamburg, Germany Founded 2003 Free / Premium from €7.95/month Demo on request

Best for: Professionals in German-speaking countries

  • Operating company. Xing
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. LinkedIn

Xing is a professional network founded in Hamburg in 2003, with over 22 million members across Germany, Austria and Switzerland according to our tool page. It owns the job board as part of the network, so a vacancy sits beside profiles, groups and events. It belongs to NEW WORK SE, which also owns kununu and the recruiting product onlyfy, and Burda Digital SE took NEW WORK SE private in 2025.

Job seekers filter by location, salary range, industry and work model, while recruiters use the onlyfy TalentManager for candidate search and tracking. Basic membership is free and Premium starts at €7.95 a month on the pricing field. Xing is the right choice for approaching DACH professionals by profile, and a weak one for hiring in the rest of Europe.

What Xing does well

  • Profiles, groups and events combined with job listings
  • Recruiter tool, onlyfy TalentManager, for sourcing candidates
  • Employer reviews through kununu in the same group
  • Free membership with Premium from €7.95 a month
  • German company with strong DACH presence

Where Xing falls short

  • Reach is concentrated in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
  • Recruiting tools are a separate paid product
  • Messaging outside your contacts needs Premium
  • Content ecosystem smaller than LinkedIn's

Standout feature. Xing lets a recruiter approach DACH professionals through their profile, and not only through the ad they answered.

#9 Reed

United Kingdom, United Kingdom Single ad from £89 plus VAT; monthly plans from £125 Demo on request

Best for: UK employers that want a stated price per vacancy or per application

  • Operating company. Reed Online Limited
  • Jurisdiction. United Kingdom (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Indeed

Reed is the job board of Reed Online Limited in the United Kingdom, part of a group that also holds Reed Specialist Recruitment Limited and Reed.ai Limited. The recruiter page shows a single ad from £89 plus VAT, monthly plans from £125 that include job and CV search, and a pay-per-application option. Few national portals show entry prices on the page.

CV Search opens the candidate database, and the vendor claims 26 million candidates, 70,000 new CVs a week and about 80,000 applications a day. Candidates can make a CV visible to recruitment agencies, which also advertise on the board. Reed Courses lists more than 155,000 courses from around 1,400 providers. The UK is outside the EU, and the registered office was not seen.

What Reed does well

  • Entry prices visible before contacting sales
  • Option to pay per application received
  • CV Search is part of monthly plans
  • Candidate app for phones
  • Course listings and career advice articles

Where Reed falls short

  • Prices are in pounds with VAT added
  • Only covers the United Kingdom
  • Not established in the EU
  • Recruitment agencies compete with employers on the board

Standout feature. Reed offers pay-per-application next to fixed ads, so an employer can buy applications and not only visibility.

#10 Joblift

Hamburg, Germany Employer pricing on request Demo on request

Best for: Employers filling many blue-collar and grey-collar roles in Germany

  • Operating company. Joblift Solutions GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Indeed (sponsored jobs)

Joblift is a German job search site run by Joblift Solutions GmbH in Hamburg, entered at Amtsgericht Hamburg under HRB 200320. Jobseekers browse category pages such as logistics, manufacturing, sales, IT and healthcare with live vacancy counts. Employers meet a different product, programmatic recruiting, where software places vacancies on joblift.de, other boards and search engines.

The employer page says the system divides a budget across channels by which delivers the best cost per application, adds social media campaigns for passive candidates and hands applications to any applicant tracking system. Joblift states that more than 80% of open jobs are blue-collar or grey-collar. Pricing is on request, and the service is managed more than self-serve.

What Joblift does well

  • German GmbH with its HRB number in the imprint
  • Spend follows cost per application
  • Applications go to any ATS you use
  • Social media campaigns are part of the offer
  • Category pages show live vacancy counts

Where Joblift falls short

  • No price list
  • Focused on Germany
  • Not designed for senior roles
  • Limited self-serve controls

Standout feature. Joblift treats cost per application as the unit that steers the budget, in a managed service rather than an ad slot.

#11 InfoJobs

Spain, Spain Employer pricing on request Demo on request

Best for: Employers hiring in Spain and Spanish-speaking candidates

  • Operating company. Adevinta Jobs S.L.U.
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Spain)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Indeed

InfoJobs is a Spanish portal credited in its footer to Adevinta Jobs S.L.U. The search lists every province from Álava to Zaragoza, with shortcuts for Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, and the home page shows vacancy counts for sectors such as healthcare, sales, IT and management. Filters cover part-time, remote work, management level and distance from home.

Beyond ads, the menu links to a salaries section, a training section and public employment listings, and a company search lets candidates look up employers. There is a mobile app. The footer connects InfoJobs to a wider marketplace group, including real estate and vehicle portals, and we did not verify that group's ownership. The legal and privacy pages returned errors, so the entity rests on the footer alone.

What InfoJobs does well

  • Search by every Spanish province
  • Salaries and training sections for candidates
  • Public employment listings in the same portal
  • App for mobile use
  • Spanish operating company named in the footer

Where InfoJobs falls short

  • Site and legal pages in Spanish
  • No employer prices shown
  • Belongs to a larger marketplace group
  • Coverage restricted to Spain

Standout feature. InfoJobs lists public employment posts in the same search as private vacancies, province by province.

Is a European job board really different from Indeed or LinkedIn Jobs?

In structure, yes. Indeed and LinkedIn are single global platforms, and a candidate reaches them by searching across everything. The boards in this list are built around one slice of the market: Jobindex around Denmark, karriere.at around Austria, jobs.ch around Switzerland and InfoJobs around Spain, with JobTeaser around students and Joblift around volume hiring in Germany.

The legal side is less clear-cut than the marketing suggests. Indeed names an Irish entity for users outside the United States, so a European contract can exist with a US-headquartered board.

What the European boards add is a local counterparty with a register number you can look up: Jobindex has a CVR number, karriere.at a Firmenbuch number, Joblift an HRB number at the Hamburg court. If your policy asks for an EU-established supplier, check that the contracting company, not just the brand, qualifies.

How do the pricing models of European job boards compare?

Three models appear. Arbeitnow charges a flat €199 per post for 30 days. Reed lists a single ad from £89 plus VAT, monthly plans from £125 with CV search included, and a pay-per-application option. Joblift moves your budget between channels based on cost per application, so what you pay follows responses rather than time on a page.

The rest quote you a price. JobTeaser, karriere.at, Jobindex, jobs.ch, Adzuna, Joblift and InfoJobs did not show employer prices on the pages we read, and JOIN publishes a free tier with paid plans per month. Quote-based pricing is normal for national portals, but it means a comparison needs a call per board. Ask what a re-posted vacancy costs and whether an ad can be moved between roles.

Does hosting inside the EU matter when choosing a job board?

It matters for applicant data, and the evidence is thin across this category. Only JobTeaser states a hosting location on the pages checked: the European Union, with Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL in Luxembourg named in its legal notice. JOIN states EU hosting on our tool page. For Arbeitnow, Jobindex, karriere.at, jobs.ch, Adzuna, Reed, Joblift and InfoJobs, the data location was not stated.

Treat that as a question to put to the vendor, not as a finding of risk. Each of these companies is registered in Europe, which brings GDPR obligations with it, and a processing agreement should list the data centres and sub-processors. If a board is used mainly for public job ads, the personal data at stake is the applicants, so ask where CVs and messages are stored before you route applications through it.

Can a European job board replace Indeed for hiring in several countries?

Not alone. Every board here covers one country or one audience, apart from JOIN, which distributes a vacancy to many boards and aggregators. A practical set-up for a multinational employer is JOIN or an applicant tracking system for distribution, plus the national portal in each country where hiring volume is high.

Adzuna is the nearest in format, since it aggregates vacancies into one search and lists sites for 19 markets, but it is a UK company with offices in the US and Australia. Xing helps in Germany, Austria and Switzerland when the target is a professional you want to approach by profile. Expect to keep Indeed for any country that none of these boards covers.

When is it better not to leave Indeed?

When you hire in many countries with a small team, when volume matters more than fit, or when your applicant tracking system already feeds Indeed and no European board offers the same connector. Indeed says it operates in more than 60 countries, and no board in this list approaches that footprint.

It also makes sense to stay for a short period while you test. Run one vacancy through a European board in parallel, compare the number and quality of applicants, and move budget only if the European channel performs. Boards with narrow audiences, such as JobTeaser for students or Joblift for operational roles, are wrong for senior searches, so a poor result there reflects fit rather than quality.

How should an employer handle candidate data on a job board?

Decide first where applications land. Arbeitnow describes posting but no applicant tracking, so you handle replies yourself. Joblift says it passes applications on to any applicant tracking system. JOIN collects them in its own inbox, and Jobindex runs its own application system with video interviews. Each route makes a different party a processor of the applicant data.

Then check what candidates control. Jobindex lets candidates hide a profile or block named companies, and Reed lets a CV be made searchable by recruitment agencies. If you search CV databases, you become responsible for how you use what you find, and a data protection officer should see the process before you start sourcing.

How we selected and ranked these 11 tools

Every tool on this page is in the European Purpose directory, which means the operating company is established in Europe and we have verified that from the company register or the vendor's own legal notice rather than from a marketing page. Tools headquartered outside Europe are not eligible, however good they are.

  1. Feature verification (weight: 40%). We check each capability against the vendor's own documentation and product pages, and record what the tool does rather than what the category is assumed to include.
  2. Ease of adoption (weight: 30%). Integrations, published API access, trial availability and how much configuration stands between signing and a usable result.
  3. Value and transparency (weight: 30%). Published pricing counts in a vendor's favour; quote-only pricing is recorded as quote-only rather than estimated. We weigh what a buyer gets for the entry price, not the headline feature count.
  4. Editorial review. Every page is researched and drafted with AI assistance, and the compliance and pricing claims are checked against the vendor's documentation before it is published under the founder's editorial responsibility. The three weights above decide the order; a position is a ranking against the other European tools in this category, not an absolute score.

Vendor-reported outcomes — ROI figures, margin uplift, time saved — are labelled as vendor claims wherever they appear on this page. We have not audited them, and neither has anyone else who quotes them. Read our full editorial process for how pages are re-verified.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the hire. JobTeaser is the pick for interns and graduates, Arbeitnow for English-speaking hires in Germany, and JOIN for posting one vacancy to many boards. Jobindex, karriere.at, jobs.ch, Reed and InfoJobs serve Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, the UK and Spain, and Adzuna is the closest to a search engine with a data API.

JOIN has a free tier that publishes a vacancy and distributes it to boards and aggregators, with paid plans per month for more. Employers should check what the free tier covers, because paid promotion is where JOIN earns its revenue.

Arbeitnow lists €199 per job post for 30 days, and Reed lists a single ad from £89 plus VAT and monthly plans from £125. Xing shows Premium memberships from €7.95 a month for individuals. JobTeaser, Jobindex, karriere.at, jobs.ch, Adzuna, Joblift and InfoJobs showed no employer prices on the pages we checked.

Only if your rule demands a supplier established in the EU. JOIN and jobs.ch are Swiss, while Adzuna and Reed are British, and all four operate under adequacy decisions that allow personal data to flow from the EEA. The EU-established boards here are JobTeaser, Arbeitnow, Jobindex, karriere.at, Xing, Joblift and InfoJobs.

Adzuna, because it crawls vacancies from many sources into a single search box and lists country sites for 19 markets. It adds salary statistics and an API. Its terms name Adzuna Limited in London, so it is a UK company, and its listings vary in quality because they come from other sources.
