European Alternatives to Wyzant

Looking for a European alternative to Wyzant? Wyzant, Inc. runs its privacy policy under US rules, and the policy states that the site is hosted in the United States and governed by United States law. Wyzant lists 65,000 expert tutors in 300+ subjects and charges per lesson with no subscription.

The European tools below are run by companies in the UK, Spain, Austria, Germany and France, and they publish their prices in pounds or euros. Some work as pay-per-lesson marketplaces, others sell memberships or contracts.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects which tools are listed. Editorial policy

Why people leave Wyzant

Wyzant is an American marketplace where students pick an independent tutor from a profile, compare hourly rates and qualifications, and pay only for the time they book. Wyzant's own pages say it lists 65,000 expert tutors in 300+ subjects, and its about page counts more than a million lessons in 2021. There are no subscriptions and no upfront payments. For a family in the United States, that is a plain, honest model.

The reasons to look elsewhere from Europe are mostly about who holds the data. A tutoring account contains a child's name, school year, subjects and often the reason help is needed. Wyzant's privacy policy, written for Wyzant, Inc. and effective since 1 January 2020, says the site is hosted in the United States and governed by United States law. Its rights section is written for California residents, not for people covered by the GDPR.

Others have a more practical complaint. Wyzant is in English and built around American school stages and tests, so a parent in Vienna, Lyon or Bochum has to translate more than the interface. The European marketplaces below differ a lot from each other, though: some copy the pay-per-lesson habit, others sell monthly plans or local centres.

  • The privacy policy puts hosting and law in the United States Wyzant's privacy policy states that the site is hosted in the United States and is governed by United States law. The company named in it is Wyzant, Inc. A European parent who enters a child's details therefore agrees to a US contract and a transfer of that data out of the EEA. Every European provider on this page names a UK or EU company instead, with a register entry or company number on at least one of its legal pages.
  • Privacy rights are described for California, not for the GDPR The policy lists the California Consumer Privacy Act and tells California residents to write to Wyzant to access or delete their data. It does not describe the rights an EU resident has, such as a supervisory authority to complain to in their own language. The EU and UK providers here operate under GDPR or UK GDPR directly, and the German and Austrian ones publish an imprint with a managing director.
  • The product is built for American curricula and for English Wyzant's front page lists trending topics such as Algebra 2, Precalculus and USCIS preparation, and its tutor pages are organised by US cities. A student preparing for the Abitur, the GCSE or a French baccalauréat will find the subject list wide but the national exams not the focus. Studienkreis, Schülerhilfe, Acadomia and Tutorful organise their offer around the school systems of their home markets.
  • No local centres, no tax credit and no monthly plan Wyzant bills per lesson and guarantees the first hour with a new tutor, which suits a family that wants one lesson at a time. The pages we read show no local centre, no tax credit on home lessons and no monthly plan. Acadomia, GoStudent and Studienkreis offer these, and they price in euros, so a household budget is not exposed to exchange rates.

What you have to replace, not just match

Wyzant is a marketplace, so what you replace is a search-and-booking habit more than a piece of software. The things to carry over are the tutor you already work with, the lesson history, and the way you pay. Your tutor is a self-employed individual on Wyzant, and none of the European platforms can import that relationship. Plan to ask the tutor whether they also teach through another channel before you decide.

The Wyzant features that have a European counterpart are narrower than the whole product. The Learning Studio, a free browser classroom, maps to the online classrooms of Tutorful and TheTutorLink, and to the recorded classes of Spires. The Good Fit Guarantee maps to the first-lesson promises of Tutorful and Classgap. The browsable profiles and hourly rates map to MyTutor, FindTutors and Tavistock Tutors, each in pounds.

Three things do not carry over. Wyzant's very wide subject list, 300+ topics from one provider, has no single equal here; Apprentus and FindTutors come closest by listing teachers in languages, music and school subjects together. Wyzant's reviews, which it counts at more than four million, stay on Wyzant. And the American exam preparation has no European twin, so pick a provider by the exam your student sits.

How each alternative compares to Wyzant

#1

Tutorful

the closest pay-per-lesson match for families in the United Kingdom

Sheffield, United KingdomNo upfront fees, no contracts; pay after the lesson; tutor prices not shown on the pages we read#1 in Online Tutoring Marketplaces

Best for: UK parents and adult learners who want to pay after each lesson and keep no subscription

Tutorful is run by Tutora Ltd in Sheffield, a company registered in England and Wales, and its terms apply English law. Where Wyzant asks you to search profiles yourself, Tutorful starts with a short questionnaire on subject, level and goals and returns a shortlist it describes as background-checked. Students then book through the platform and pay after the lesson.

Lessons run in Tutorful's own online classroom with a whiteboard and shared documents, and Tutorful states that lessons are recorded for revision. Its first-lesson guarantee works through a replacement: Tutorful pays for the next lesson with a new tutor. That is close to Wyzant's first-hour promise, though the tutor prices were not shown on the pages we read.

What Tutorful does better than Wyzant

  • Contract with an English company with a published company number and registered office
  • Payment after the lesson, with no upfront fees or contracts stated
  • Lessons recorded in the classroom for later revision
  • Shortlist chosen for you rather than a search through 65,000 profiles

Where Tutorful is a step down from Wyzant

  • Navigation centres on UK school levels, so adult and niche topics are less visible
  • Tutor prices are not shown on the pages we read, where Wyzant shows rates per tutor
  • Hosting location is not stated

Standout against Wyzant. Tutorful is the one marketplace here that offers both pay-after-lesson booking and recorded lessons in its own classroom.

TheTutorLink

a low advertised commission for GCSE and A-Level lessons from London

London, United Kingdom5% platform fee (the page's own figure); sample listing at £28/hr; trials free or £5 with most tutors#2 in Online Tutoring Marketplaces

Best for: GCSE and A-Level students who want an advertised low platform fee and trial lessons

TheTutorLink is the platform of ND Media Ltd in London, with terms last updated on 1 May 2026 and English law governing them. It advertises a 5% platform fee and says the market average is 20%, a claim we did not check. We saw no fee figure on the Wyzant pages we read, so the two cannot be compared line by line.

Tutors are checked by two moderators for identity, qualifications and an interview, and tutors are paid within 48 hours. Trials are free or £5 with most tutors, although the page words this inconsistently. The subject list is short, with Maths, sciences, languages and a few others, and each subject shows only 12 tutors, so choice is much narrower than on Wyzant.

What TheTutorLink does better than Wyzant

  • A platform fee of 5% stated on the page, where we saw no fee figure for Wyzant
  • Trial lessons free or at £5 with most tutors
  • Identity, qualification and interview checks by two moderators
  • Built-in classroom with no extra software to install

Where TheTutorLink is a step down from Wyzant

  • Only 12 tutors per listed subject, against Wyzant's 65,000
  • No company number or street address on the pages we read
  • Trial wording is inconsistent between free and £5

Standout against Wyzant. TheTutorLink is the only tool here that puts a percentage platform fee on its front page.

Spires

a bidding model, nearest to Wyzant's request-a-tutor flow

London, United KingdomNot shown on the pages we read (a separate prices page exists but gave no figures)#3 in Online Tutoring Marketplaces

Best for: UK students comparing several tutor bids for a school subject or an admissions test

Spires is operated by SOTC Ltd in London, registered in England under number 09328574, with a VAT number in the footer and English law in the terms. It works the other way round from a profile search: you describe what you need, tutors reply with bids, and you read their profiles and reviews before you message anyone. Wyzant's request-a-tutor option is the nearest equivalent.

Spires states that all classes are recorded and can be watched later. Its structure follows Key Stage, GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and IB, plus 11+, UCAS and Oxbridge tests, which is useful for admissions and narrower than Wyzant's list. The pages show no prices or commission, and the terms turn damages for breaches named in a notice into a £500 debt.

What Spires does better than Wyzant

  • Tutors compete with bids for a request, which gives you several offers to compare
  • All classes recorded for later viewing
  • Admissions tests such as 11+, UCAS and Oxbridge are covered explicitly
  • English company with number, registered office and VAT number published

Where Spires is a step down from Wyzant

  • No prices or commission on the pages we read
  • Subjects follow UK exam levels, a narrower range than 300+ subjects
  • A £500 debt clause in the terms for identified breaches

Standout against Wyzant. Spires is the one platform here where the tutors come to you with bids instead of you browsing.

MyTutor

published price tiers and a free meeting before the first lesson

London, United KingdomFrom £26/hr; tutors from £25+, £45+ and £65+ by experience; no sign-up fees, no subscriptions#4 in Online Tutoring Marketplaces

Best for: UK parents who want to meet a tutor for free first and pay only per lesson

MyTutor is run by My TutorWeb Limited, registered in England and Wales under number 08580263 with an office on Farringdon Street in London. Its pricing page is headed from £26/hr and shows three tiers by tutor experience, £25+, £45+ and £65+. Wyzant shows the rate of each tutor; MyTutor shows the ladder before you search.

You can book a free 15-minute meeting to check the teaching style, then book a first lesson, and nothing is charged until you do. MyTutor states that there are no sign-up fees and no subscriptions, that 1500+ schools use it and that it offers over 10,000 free study notes. The focus is Maths, English, sciences, GCSE, A-Level and IB.

What MyTutor does better than Wyzant

  • Price tiers shown on a pricing page before you pick a tutor
  • A free 15-minute meeting with the tutor before paying
  • No sign-up fees or subscriptions stated
  • Free study notes for revision, over 10,000 according to MyTutor

Where MyTutor is a step down from Wyzant

  • Entry price of £25+ per hour is not low
  • Subject spread is narrower than Wyzant's 300+ subjects
  • Hosting location is not stated

Standout against Wyzant. MyTutor is the only marketplace here that lets you meet the tutor for free before the first paid lesson.

Apprentus

one marketplace for school help, languages and music lessons

London, United KingdomNot shown on the pages we read; the Dutch site displays prices in EUR#5 in Online Tutoring Marketplaces

Best for: Learners who want teachers for school subjects, languages and music in one marketplace

Apprentus is run by Apprentus Ltd, registered in London under number 08897308. Its about page says the company started in Brussels in October 2013 and now has more than 130,000 teachers across many countries. The home page counts 83,807 school teachers, 78,606 for languages and 20,365 for music, so the same person can be counted twice.

This breadth is the nearest thing here to Wyzant's 300+ subjects, and it includes online lessons, which 101,131 teachers offer. The legal notice names the courts of London. The pages we read show no fees, commission or hourly rates, and how teachers are vetted is not described, which Wyzant handles with its first-hour guarantee.

What Apprentus does better than Wyzant

  • Music and language lessons sit next to school help in one marketplace
  • A larger stated teacher base than most European tools, at 130,000+ by its own figure
  • Prices are displayed in euros on the Dutch site
  • A registered London company with number and office published

Where Apprentus is a step down from Wyzant

  • No fee structure or hourly rates on the pages we read
  • Teacher vetting is not described
  • Teacher counts overlap between categories

Standout against Wyzant. Apprentus is the only tool here with a stated teacher base above 100,000, covering school, language and music lessons together.

Classgap

a Spanish marketplace with a 20-minute free trial, mostly for languages

Granollers (Barcelona), SpainNot shown on the pages we read; the page states no tuition fees or minimum number of hours#6 in Online Tutoring Marketplaces

Best for: Language learners who want a free 20-minute trial class before picking a teacher

Classgap is operated by Tus Media S.L. in Granollers near Barcelona, registered in the Mercantile Register of Barcelona, and Spanish law applies. Wyzant's trial is a guarantee on the first hour; Classgap offers a free 20-minute class first and, if the first class disappoints, says it will help you find another teacher.

The teacher counts show a language marketplace: more than 12,000 teachers by its own figure, of whom 8,239 teach English, 3,456 Spanish and 1,433 French. The site displays prices in euros, pounds, dollars and several Latin American currencies. No prices appear on the pages we read, and the privacy text mentions sharing of teacher data with GoStudent GmbH.

What Classgap does better than Wyzant

  • A free 20-minute trial class before any commitment
  • Replacement help if the first class is not satisfying
  • Euro, pound and dollar display currencies
  • A Spanish company with tax number and register entry published

Where Classgap is a step down from Wyzant

  • Teacher base is mostly languages, against Wyzant's school and test subjects
  • No prices or payment protection described on the pages we read
  • A link to GoStudent in the privacy text is not explained

Standout against Wyzant. Classgap is the one tool here that lets you test a language teacher in a free 20-minute class.

GoStudent

monthly lesson memberships from Vienna instead of single bookings

Vienna, AustriaFrom €19.99 per unit (page also says from €20); examples up to €36.01 per unit; base price €15.90 per 50-minute unit; GoStudent Learning €14.90 a month after a free month#7 in Online Tutoring Marketplaces

Best for: Families in German-speaking countries who want a fixed number of lessons each month

GoStudent is the brand of GoStudent Online Tutoring GmbH in Vienna, entered under FN 447118b at the Handelsgericht Wien. It works almost opposite to Wyzant: you pick 4, 6, 8 or 12 units a month, each a 50-minute one-to-one lesson, and more units lower the price per unit. The price page says from €19.99, with examples up to €36.01 on four units.

A trial lesson is free, with no credit card. The lowest price assumes a 12-month membership, and the pages we read do not state the notice period. A separate GoStudent Learning subscription costs €14.90 a month after a free month. For a one-off lesson, Wyzant is more flexible. For a child who needs a weekly rhythm, a monthly plan in euros is simpler.

What GoStudent does better than Wyzant

  • Euro prices per 50-minute unit instead of dollars
  • A fixed monthly plan of 4, 6, 8 or 12 lessons, which suits a weekly routine
  • Free trial lesson without a credit card
  • Country versions for ten markets, from the UK to Greece

Where GoStudent is a step down from Wyzant

  • Lowest price depends on a long plan
  • Cancellation terms are not on the pricing page
  • Less suited to a single lesson than Wyzant's per-hour billing

Standout against Wyzant. GoStudent is the one provider here that sells tutoring as a monthly plan of 4, 6, 8 or 12 units.

FindTutors

a classified-style directory with many ads and low headline rates

Barcelona, SpainHeadline rates from £12/hr (tutor prices); student fees not stated on the pages we read; tutor sign-up free#8 in Online Tutoring Marketplaces

Best for: Students who want to browse many local or online tutor ads at low hourly rates

FindTutors is owned by Tus Media S.L. of Barcelona, the same company as Classgap, and its terms apply Spanish law. It is a directory of ads: teachers and centres post listings, and students search by subject and place or pick online lessons by video call. The home page counts 4,098,720 ads in over 350 subjects, a bigger subject spread than most rivals.

Wyzant runs the booking, the payment and the Learning Studio. FindTutors does not describe any of that on the pages we read, so lessons run in outside tools such as Zoom and vetting is up to you. The headline rate of £12 an hour is what a tutor asks, not a guaranteed price. Tutor sign-up is free.

What FindTutors does better than Wyzant

  • Headline tutor rates from £12 per hour, below the marketplaces on this page
  • Over 350 subjects in the ad listings
  • Free sign-up for tutors
  • Spanish company with a Barcelona register entry

Where FindTutors is a step down from Wyzant

  • No vetting or payment protection described, where Wyzant has a first-hour guarantee
  • Student fee structure is not on the pages we read
  • Ad quality varies and lessons run in outside video tools

Standout against Wyzant. FindTutors is the only directory here with over four million ads, according to its own home page.

Tavistock Tutors

a London agency with a human consultant and higher rates

London, United KingdomIndicative from £50/hr (school and online), £60/hr (university), £70/hr (admissions and professional); one-off £90 membership for consultant matching#9 in Online Tutoring Marketplaces

Best for: UK families who want a consultant to pick a tutor for exams and university admissions

Tavistock Tutors is run by Tavistock Tutors Limited, company number 06898986, with a London address in its footer and a different one in its privacy policy. Where Wyzant is self-service, Tavistock offers a consultant who matches a tutor for you, for a one-off membership fee of £90 that has no expiry. Searching by yourself carries no fee.

The pricing page shows indicative rates from £50 an hour for school and online lessons, £60 for university and £70 for admissions and professional subjects, and tutors set their own rates. Tavistock says it accepts only the top 5% of applicants. That is dearer than Wyzant or MyTutor, and the page for per-tutor price comparison is less detailed.

What Tavistock Tutors does better than Wyzant

  • A named consultant who picks a tutor, instead of self-service search
  • Admissions and professional subjects covered with indicative rates
  • A stated tutor intake of the top 5% of applicants
  • Self-search available without any membership fee

Where Tavistock Tutors is a step down from Wyzant

  • Entry rate of £50 per hour is well above marketplace rates
  • Two different London addresses appear on its pages
  • Per-tutor price visibility is lower than on Wyzant

Standout against Wyzant. Tavistock Tutors is the only provider here that offers a paid human consultant to match your tutor.

Schülerhilfe

German group tutoring and one-to-one lessons at local sites or online

Gelsenkirchen, GermanyFrom €8.76 per lesson (small group, location-dependent, long term); one-to-one from €24.12 per hour; registration fee up to €69; first trial lesson free#10 in Online Tutoring Marketplaces

Best for: German families who want small-group tutoring at a low per-lesson price

Schülerhilfe is run by ZGS Bildungs-GmbH in Gelsenkirchen, registered at the Amtsgericht Gelsenkirchen-Buer under HRB 10129, and its imprint says sites are operated by a subsidiary or by franchise partners. It is a chain, not an open marketplace, and teachers are employed or work for franchisees. That removes Wyzant's pick-your-own-tutor model.

Small-group lessons start at €8.76 per lesson on a 24-month minimum term, and one-to-one starts at €24.12 an hour. A registration fee of up to €69 may apply. The first trial lesson is free, and lessons can run online on a phone, tablet or PC. Contracts are cancellable monthly, but ending early means paying what a shorter contract would have cost.

What Schülerhilfe does better than Wyzant

  • Group lessons from €8.76, a price level independent tutors rarely reach
  • First trial lesson free, with a double lesson for new customers
  • German-language service with an imprint and register number
  • Free Online-LernCenter and subject book

Where Schülerhilfe is a step down from Wyzant

  • Lowest price needs a 24-month term and varies by location
  • Teachers are employed or franchise staff, not independent tutors you choose
  • German-language focus and a registration fee of up to €69

Standout against Wyzant. Schülerhilfe is the only provider here that prices small-group lessons under €9 per lesson.

Best for: German families who want a centre close to home or online lessons from one provider

Studienkreis is operated by Studienkreis GmbH in Bochum, registered at the AG Bochum under HRB 4581, and its imprint also lists Tutor Holding GmbH. Its terms are dated January 2026. The company has about 1,000 locations, which gives a student a classroom to walk into, something Wyzant does not provide at all.

On-site lessons start at €8.40 per 45 minutes, with the price assuming two sessions a week, a 12-month contract and small groups. Online single tutoring starts at €18.45, and online subscriptions can be paused for up to three months a year. New on-site customers get two free trial lessons, and courses cover reading and spelling difficulties, dyscalculia and exam preparation.

What Studienkreis does better than Wyzant

  • About 1,000 on-site locations next to online lessons
  • On-site lessons from €8.40 per 45 minutes, including materials
  • Two free trial lessons on-site
  • Special courses for LRS and dyscalculia

Where Studienkreis is a step down from Wyzant

  • Exact price comes only via a consultation
  • Lowest price needs a 12-month contract and notice periods are not on the pages read

Acadomia

French home lessons with a 50% instant tax credit

not stated on the pages we read, FranceCentre group courses €76 to €145 TTC a month; online group courses €69 to €114 TTC a month; home lessons without minimum duration, 50% instant tax credit#12 in Online Tutoring Marketplaces

Best for: French families who want home lessons with an instant tax credit or group courses in a centre

Acadomia is a brand published by DOMIA GROUP SA, with the tutoring subsidiary AIS 2 SAS registered at the RCS Nice under 483 820 080. Its legal notice says the site is hosted by AWS EMEA SARL, which is a more specific hosting statement than any other tool here makes. Wyzant says its site is hosted in the United States.

Acadomia sells home lessons, weekly centre classes of 4 to 8 pupils and online group courses. Group courses cost €76 to €145 TTC a month in centres and €69 to €114 online. Home lessons have no minimum duration and carry a 50% tax credit applied at payment; group courses do not. There is no free trial lesson, only a free pedagogical assessment.

What Acadomia does better than Wyzant

  • A 50% instant tax credit on home lessons, applied at payment
  • Home lessons with no minimum duration, paid per session
  • 110 centres in France and a free pedagogical assessment
  • A stated hosting provider in the legal notice

Where Acadomia is a step down from Wyzant

  • No free trial lesson
  • Group courses are excluded from the tax credit
  • French-language service, and home hourly rates were not on the price list we read

Standout against Wyzant. Acadomia is the only provider here that applies a state tax credit at the moment of payment for home lessons.

What actually breaks when you switch

The first thing to sort out is the tutor. A Wyzant tutor is an independent professional, and no European platform can move that relationship. Ask your current tutor whether they teach through another channel, and finish any paid hours in your Wyzant account before you leave. Download lesson notes and shared files from the Learning Studio, because a new tutor will ask where the student stands.

Then comes billing. Wyzant bills per lesson, so a family used to that will find the British marketplaces similar, but GoStudent, Studienkreis and Schülerhilfe push you toward longer plans with notice periods that were not clear on the pages we read. Read the cancellation terms and the registration fee before the first lesson. Check also that your student's exam is covered: a US test has no direct counterpart in Europe, and the school-based providers are tied to their national curricula.

Can I keep my Wyzant tutor if I move to a European platform?

Not through the platform. A Wyzant tutor is an independent professional, and the relationship lives inside the Wyzant account. The European marketplaces cannot import a tutor, so the realistic route is to ask the tutor if they also take students through another channel, or to ask the tutor to apply to one of the UK marketplaces, where a tutor sets their own rate.

Before you leave, save what Wyzant gives you: the lesson notes, the schedule, and any shared documents from the Learning Studio. A new tutor on Tutorful, Spires or MyTutor will want to know the topics covered and the next exam date, and a one-page summary shortens the first lesson.

Which European marketplace works like Wyzant, with no subscription?

Tutorful and MyTutor are the closest. Tutorful states no upfront fees and payment after the lesson, with a promise that Tutorful pays for the next lesson with a new tutor if you dislike the first. MyTutor states no sign-up fees and no subscription, with a free 15-minute meeting before the first booking.

TheTutorLink advertises a 5% platform fee and free or £5 trials. Spires uses bids rather than a fixed profile price, which is nearest to Wyzant's request-a-tutor flow. All four are British, so lessons are priced in pounds. GoStudent, Schülerhilfe, Studienkreis and Acadomia sell plans or courses instead.

Which one to pick

If you want Wyzant's habit of paying for single lessons with a tutor you can choose, start with Tutorful or MyTutor in the United Kingdom, and add Spires if you want tutors to bid. TheTutorLink is the one to look at for a low advertised commission, with the caveat that it lists only 12 tutors per subject. Apprentus and FindTutors suit learners who need languages or music as well.

If you live in Germany, Austria or France, the choice is a different shape of service. GoStudent suits a weekly routine at a monthly price, Schülerhilfe and Studienkreis suit group tutoring near home, and Acadomia suits parents who can use the 50% tax credit on home lessons. Stay with Wyzant if your student needs a rare subject or an American exam, and accept the US contract knowingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

For a pay-per-lesson marketplace, Tutorful and MyTutor from the United Kingdom are the nearest in model. For families in the euro area, GoStudent from Vienna sells monthly lesson memberships, Schülerhilfe and Studienkreis sell tutoring in German centres and online, and Acadomia sells home lessons in France with a tax credit. The right pick depends on your country and on whether you want per-lesson or per-month billing.

Wyzant's privacy policy is written for Wyzant, Inc., says the site is hosted in the United States and describes rights for California residents. We did not find a description of GDPR rights on the pages we read. Whether a transfer of a child's data to Wyzant is lawful for you depends on your own legal basis, so ask your school or data protection contact if lessons are arranged through an institution.

The lowest figures are tied to conditions. Studienkreis lists on-site lessons from €8.40 per 45 minutes on a 12-month contract, and Schülerhilfe from €8.76 per lesson on a 24-month term. FindTutors shows tutor ads from £12 an hour. For single online lessons without a contract, GoStudent starts at €19.99 per unit and MyTutor at £26 an hour. Tavistock Tutors is the most expensive, from £50.

Yes, with different rules. Classgap offers a free 20-minute trial class. GoStudent offers a free trial lesson without a credit card. Studienkreis gives two free 45-minute trial lessons on-site and one online. Schülerhilfe makes the first trial lesson free. MyTutor offers a free 15-minute meeting rather than a lesson, and Acadomia has no free trial but offers a free pedagogical assessment.

Yes. Wyzant lists 300+ subjects from one provider, shows rates per tutor, and guarantees the first hour with a new tutor. No European platform here matches that range with the same pay-per-hour model. If your student needs a rare subject or a specific American exam, Wyzant may still be the better fit, and the data question is one you weigh yourself.
