How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • Kinaxis Inc. is headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, and its website terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, so a move to a European vendor changes the contracting party and the governing law, not a US-law exposure.
  • Kinaxis states in its privacy policy that processing inside its software service is covered by a Data Processing Agreement in its Trust Centre, which is the document a European legal team has to read.
  • Pricing for Kinaxis Maestro is on request, and among the eleven European tools on this page only Optiply publishes plan prices, from €610 per month (pricing page, 23 October 2026).
  • ToolsGroup, OMP, Lokad, Sunstice, Syncron, Vekia and Flowlity each name Kinaxis among the tools they replace, but none of them matches the full Maestro module list.
  • RELEX Solutions, ToolsGroup, OMP and Sunstice are the European vendors that cover demand, supply and S&OP in one platform, which is the nearest shape to Kinaxis.

Why people leave Kinaxis

Kinaxis sells Maestro, a supply chain planning platform that its own site presents through solution pages for demand, inventory, supply, sales and operations planning, scheduling, a control tower, order management, returns and spare parts. The login on its site still reads "Maestro (RapidResponse)", a reminder that the product was known under the older name before. Large manufacturers are its core audience, and the site shows a Schneider Electric testimonial.

The company behind it is Kinaxis Inc., headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. Its website terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, and its privacy policy says personal information may be moved to other countries under standard contractual clauses. That is a Canadian vendor, so the usual argument about American surveillance law does not apply here, and this page does not make it. The questions are practical: who signs your contract, and what you pay.

Buyers who look beyond Kinaxis tend to arrive from one of three directions. They want a contract with a European legal entity, they find a platform of this breadth too heavy for the planning team they actually have, or they want a quote that can be compared line by line, which is hard when pricing for Maestro is on request.

  • The contracting party and the governing law are Canadian The privacy policy applies to Kinaxis Inc. and its affiliated entities worldwide, and the website terms follow the laws of Ontario. For customer data processed inside the software service, the policy points to a separate Data Processing Agreement in the Kinaxis Trust Centre. A European buyer therefore reads two documents instead of one, and the sections that matter, transfer mechanism and sub-processors, sit in the second.
  • Pricing for Maestro is on request There is no price list for the platform, so a first budget comes from a sales conversation. That is normal for enterprise planning software, and most European vendors on this page do the same. Only Optiply publishes plan prices, from €610 per month on 23 October 2026. If you need a number before the board meets, that gap decides how long your shortlist takes.
  • A platform this wide asks for a wide programme The Kinaxis navigation lists demand, supply, inventory, S&OP, scheduling, order management, returns, tariffs, sustainability and a control tower, and its platform pages mention concurrency, integration with SAP, and a solver. A company that needs one or two of those jobs carries the weight of the rest during selection and training. Smaller European tools exist exactly for that narrower case.
  • Your language and your region may not be the default The Kinaxis site offers English and Japanese, and its events page lists a Kinexions EMEA 26 conference. Several European vendors on this page work in French, Dutch or Italian, and Vekia's site is mostly in French. If your planners, auditors and works council read those languages first, the documentation and the project team language are a legitimate part of the comparison.

What you have to replace, not just match

What you have to replace is a planning model, not a forecast. Kinaxis presents demand, supply and S&OP scenarios in one environment, and the site shows a user group, certified implementation partners and training courses around it. Moving away means rebuilding the item and location hierarchy, the planning calendars, the bills of material and the consensus meeting that sits on top, and then proving the new tool reproduces last year's plan within tolerance.

Integration is the second block. The Kinaxis site gives SAP its own page, which suggests that ERP data feeds are a standing part of a deployment. Whatever your ERP is, list every interface that reads from or writes to the planning system, including purchase proposals, forecast overrides and the weekly export to finance. A European replacement needs each of them rebuilt or retired.

The third block is people and habit. Planners who know Maestro hold years of tacit knowledge about its scenarios and views. Budget a period in which both systems run, and decide beforehand which Kinaxis function you will simply stop doing, because no tool on this page copies the full list.

How each alternative compares to Kinaxis

#1

RELEX Solutions

The widest Finnish platform for retail and supply chain planning, and the closest in scale

Helsinki, FinlandCustom (quote-based); no list prices published#8 in Pricing Software

Best for: Large retailers and consumer goods companies replacing a Kinaxis deployment built around replenishment and promotions

Against Kinaxis, RELEX Solutions brings a retail-first design. Forecasting, replenishment, allocation and promotion planning share one data model, and Price Optimization is another module on the same base. A retailer that reads Kinaxis as an industrial tool will find the retail vocabulary more natural here, down to store allocation.

The contracting entity is RELEX Oy in Helsinki, founded in 2005, with roughly twenty offices on the tool page. Prices are quote-based like Maestro. In a proof of concept, ask for the same product hierarchy and the same promotion calendar you use today, and compare the resulting orders rather than the demo screens.

What RELEX Solutions does better than Kinaxis

  • European contracting entity in Finland instead of an Ontario-governed one
  • Retail allocation and promotion planning on the same model as forecasting
  • Price optimisation available as a module next to planning

Where RELEX Solutions is a step down from Kinaxis

  • Not a published-price product, same as Maestro
  • Scheduling and capacity planning for plants are not what its tool page highlights

Standout against Kinaxis. RELEX Solutions is the European vendor whose shape most resembles an enterprise planning platform for retail.

#2

ToolsGroup

The probabilistic specialist that also covers supply planning, S&OP and network design

Amsterdam, NetherlandsNot published; demo on request#2 in Demand Planning Software

Best for: Distributors and manufacturers with long-tail or intermittent demand who found single-number forecasts unreliable

ToolsGroup names Kinaxis on its own replacement list, and the overlap is real: demand planning, supply planning, S&OP and IBP, plus network design. Where it differs is the method. Its demand pages describe probabilistic modelling for intermittent and lumpy items and carry the uncertainty into inventory targets, which suits businesses with thousands of slow movers.

The privacy policy names ToolsGroup B.V. in Amsterdam, and the company dates its founding to 1993. Offices include Boston and Aliso Viejo, so ask which entity signs the order form and where the platform runs, as neither is stated on the pages read. Modules are bought separately, which helps if you only replace part of Maestro.

What ToolsGroup does better than Kinaxis

  • Probabilistic forecasting as the stated core method
  • Dutch B.V. as controller named in the privacy policy
  • Industry modules for aftermarket, food and retail
  • Modular scope so you buy only the parts you replace

Where ToolsGroup is a step down from Kinaxis

  • No published pricing and no stated hosting region
  • North American offices alongside the European entity

Standout against Kinaxis. ToolsGroup is the European platform most centred on planning around uncertainty rather than around a single forecast.

OMP

The Belgian platform closest to Kinaxis for manufacturers with capacity limits and long lead times

Wommelgem, BelgiumNot published; demo on request#3 in Demand Planning Software

Best for: Process and discrete manufacturers who need demand, supply, scheduling and S&OP in one planning model

OMP is the tool here that matches the Kinaxis breadth most directly for manufacturers. Unison Planning joins network design, demand management, S&OP, operational planning, scheduling and inventory optimisation, and the demand module offers role-based views so sales, marketing and supply work from the same plan. For a plant that cannot flex capacity, the scheduling link is the deciding feature.

The controller is OM Partners NV in Wommelgem, Belgium. Logos on the home page include Beiersdorf, Evonik, Land O'Lakes, Outokumpu and Roche. The site lists advisory, implementation, training and support as service lines, so the programme resembles a Kinaxis one: consultants plus licences. No price is published and the hosting region is not stated.

What OMP does better than Kinaxis

  • Scheduling and network design inside the same planning model
  • Belgian controller and European contract
  • Forecasting by value as well as volume

Where OMP is a step down from Kinaxis

  • Implementation is a project, not a quick start
  • Heavy if you only need a forecast and replenishment proposals
  • No published pricing

Standout against Kinaxis. OMP is the European platform that most closely mirrors a full Kinaxis scope for capacity-constrained manufacturers.

Lokad

A French service that replaces planners' screens with scripted daily decisions

Paris, FranceFlat monthly fee per module, quote-based; free trial account on request#4 in Demand Planning Software

Best for: Companies willing to outsource the decision logic to a vendor team and pay a flat fee per module

Lokad sits furthest from Kinaxis in working model. Instead of a workbench where planners adjust scenarios, its supply chain scientists write the decision logic in Envision and the platform emits purchase, allocation and price decisions each day. Forecasts feed those decisions, and the technology pages trace probabilistic and quantile methods in some depth.

Fees are fixed per module, with a platform part and a support part, and no per-user charge, which is easier to forecast than a seat-based licence. Lokad SAS is registered in Paris since 2008, although the site footer reads Lokad Inc., so confirm the signing entity. The solution runs on Microsoft Azure, with the region not stated on the pages read.

What Lokad does better than Kinaxis

  • Flat monthly fee per module, no per-user charge
  • Vendor scientists build and run the decision logic
  • Free trial account on request

Where Lokad is a step down from Kinaxis

  • Planners cannot simply override numbers in a familiar interface
  • Runs on Azure with the region unstated
  • Fixed fees can sit awkwardly with fast growth

Standout against Kinaxis. Lokad is the European option that turns planning into a managed service rather than a tool your team operates.

Sunstice (FuturMaster)

French planning plus revenue growth management for consumer goods and industrial companies

Boulogne-Billancourt, FranceNot published; demo on request#5 in Demand Planning Software

Best for: Consumer goods manufacturers that want promotions and pricing linked to the demand and supply review

Sunstice, the new name of FuturMaster, matches Kinaxis on the planning side with collaborative demand planning, demand sensing, supply planning and S&OP or IBP, and adds revenue growth management, which Kinaxis does not list in its navigation. Its demand page describes an explainable modelling cockpit and approval roles across Demand and Supply Reviews.

FuturMaster SAS is registered in the Nanterre trade register in Boulogne-Billancourt, and the French register shows a date of 31 December 1993. During the rebrand, documents may carry either name, and some sections of the new site still read coming soon. Confirm the contracting entity on the order form and ask for the roadmap in writing.

What Sunstice (FuturMaster) does better than Kinaxis

  • Trade promotion and pricing connected to the demand plan
  • Explainable forecasting cockpit with approval roles
  • French SAS as the named contracting entity

Where Sunstice (FuturMaster) is a step down from Kinaxis

  • Rebrand means two names to track in contracts and documents
  • No published pricing or hosting region
  • Scheduling is not a headline module on the pages read

Standout against Kinaxis. Sunstice is the European vendor that ties the demand review to promotions and revenue growth management.

#6

Slimstock

A Dutch forecast and replenishment layer that sits beside your ERP, installable on-premise

Deventer, NetherlandsNot published; quote on request#9 in Inventory Management

Best for: Mid-size and large companies replacing only the forecasting and replenishment part of a Kinaxis deployment

Slimstock is a narrower answer than Maestro. Its Slim4 platform covers forecasting, automatic replenishment, multi-echelon inventory, allocation and network balancing, and leaves the quantities in your ERP or warehouse system. If you mainly use Kinaxis to generate order proposals, that scope is enough, and the project is shorter.

The terms of use name Slimstock Holding B.V. in Deventer under Dutch registry number 38024648, and the tool can be installed on-premise or used as Slim4 Cloud, an explicit choice that suits buyers who want local control. According to the vendor, it holds ISO 27001:2022. Customer and staff numbers on its site are vendor claims, and no price is published.

What Slimstock does better than Kinaxis

  • On-premise installation offered next to a cloud service
  • ISO 27001:2022 certification stated by the vendor
  • Dutch holding company with a verified registry number

Where Slimstock is a step down from Kinaxis

  • No S&OP suite, scheduling or control tower
  • Plans stock but does not record it, so an ERP or WMS is still needed

Standout against Kinaxis. Slimstock is the European tool here that you can run on your own servers for forecasts and replenishment.

#7

Syncron

The Swedish specialist in service parts, matching the Kinaxis spare parts solution

Stockholm, SwedenNot published; demo on request#7 in Demand Planning Software

Best for: Equipment, automotive and truck makers planning spare parts across dealers and warehouses

Syncron only competes with Kinaxis in one lane, and in that lane it is built for the job. Its service parts planning handles the slow, intermittent demand of aftermarket parts, retail inventory management covers dealers, and its pricing, warranty and service contract products extend into revenue. Mid-market versions, Inventory IQ and Price IQ, exist for smaller makers.

Syncron Holding AB in Stockholm is named as controller in the privacy policy, which also lists group companies in Germany, the UK, Italy and Poland plus Syncron Inc. and entities in India and Japan. Personal data may be shared with those group entities, so read the published data processing addendum. Home page logos include AGCO, CLAAS, Trimble and Caterpillar.

What Syncron does better than Kinaxis

  • Built around spare parts, dealers and aftermarket pricing
  • Parts pricing and warranty from the same vendor
  • Mid-market products for smaller manufacturers

Where Syncron is a step down from Kinaxis

  • Narrow outside the aftermarket
  • Group entities outside the EU may process data

Standout against Kinaxis. Syncron is the European tool built only for the aftermarket, from parts stocking to warranty.

Vekia

A French forecast-to-order specialist with data scientists assigned to each project

Lille, FranceNot published; demo on request#8 in Demand Planning Software

Best for: Retailers and industrial companies with many suppliers and references who want orders automated

Vekia replaces the forecast and order proposal step of a Kinaxis set-up. Its method is probabilistic, its safety stock adjusts automatically against forecast demand and lead times, and the platform produces order proposals directly. The English page describes a data science team dedicated to each project and a research lab behind the models.

Vekia SAS is named in the legal notice with share capital of 74,466 euro at 16-18 rue Faidherbe in Lille, created in December 2007. According to the vendor, 99 percent of orders can be automated, a figure that depends on the customer. The site is mostly French, so check which pages and documentation exist in English before you shortlist it.

What Vekia does better than Kinaxis

  • Automatic order proposals fed by probabilistic forecasts
  • Data scientists assigned per project
  • Verified French SAS in the company register

Where Vekia is a step down from Kinaxis

  • No S&OP, scheduling or network design
  • Mostly French-language site
  • No published pricing

Standout against Kinaxis. Vekia is the European tool that aims for automated supplier orders straight from probabilistic forecasts.

Flowlity

A young French mid-market planner that you can start with a free trial

Avilly-Saint-Leonard, FranceNot published; demo on request, free trial advertised#9 in Demand Planning Software

Best for: Mid-market retail, manufacturing and wholesale teams leaving Excel rather than leaving a large Kinaxis programme

Flowlity targets the opposite end from a large Maestro programme. It describes itself as an agentic AI platform for mid-market planning, with forecasts that mix internal data with external signals such as weather, history cleaning, new product forecasting and promotion management. Inventory, supply planning and supplier collaboration share the product.

FLOWLITY SAS is registered in Avilly-Saint-Leonard, with SIREN 847 801 701 and a registration of January 2019 per its legal notice. The about page claims more than 40 active customers, which is a small reference base next to Kinaxis. A Start free trial button sits next to its demo button. The marketing site is hosted on Webflow in the United States, which concerns the website, not the product.

What Flowlity does better than Kinaxis

  • Free trial offered on its own site
  • Aimed at planners rather than data scientists
  • Demand, inventory and supply in one product for mid-market scale

Where Flowlity is a step down from Kinaxis

  • Young vendor with limited references
  • Less suited to complex production scheduling
  • No published pricing

Standout against Kinaxis. Flowlity is the European option you can try yourself before talking to sales.

Intuendi

An Italian forecast and purchasing tool for retail with AI assistant connections

Florence, ItalyFlat monthly fee on quotation only; annual billing may carry a discount#10 in Demand Planning Software

Best for: Retail and e-commerce companies that need forecasts and purchase orders prepared automatically

Intuendi is a retail-oriented replacement for the demand and replenishment parts of Kinaxis. It prepares forecasts, understock and overstock reports and order suggestions, and lists bill of materials, multi-echelon rebalancing and multi-supplier purchasing. Symphonie is its in-app AI layer, and a page describes connections to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other assistants through MCP.

The terms of service name Intuendi srl at Viale Mazzini 40, Florence. Prices are flat monthly fees on quotation only, with payments upfront and non-refundable under the August 2026 terms, and data kept for 60 days after termination. That contract structure is stricter than many enterprise software terms, so have your legal team read it before a pilot.

What Intuendi does better than Kinaxis

  • MCP connections to AI assistants
  • Multi-echelon rebalancing across warehouses at retail scale
  • Support included in the subscription

Where Intuendi is a step down from Kinaxis

  • Upfront, non-refundable payments
  • No S&OP suite or manufacturing scheduling

Standout against Kinaxis. Intuendi is the European tool whose planning data an AI assistant can reach through MCP.

Optiply

A Dutch purchasing tool with published plans, far smaller in scope than Maestro

Eindhoven, NetherlandsStarter from €610 per month (from 1,000 sales orders per month), Professional from €1,610, Enterprise from €2,380; pricing page 23 October 2026#11 in Demand Planning Software

Best for: E-commerce and wholesale buyers who want purchase orders calculated from sales history

Optiply is the smallest answer here. It calculates which purchase orders are needed from sales history, trends, delivery times and stock, using more than 40 forecasting methods, and connects through 50+ integrations. Higher plans add container optimisation, a promotion planner, wholesale forecasting, EDI and a production planner.

It is also the only vendor on this page that shows prices: Starter from €610 per month from 1,000 sales orders, Professional from €1,610 and Enterprise from €2,380 (pricing page, 23 October 2026). Optiply BV is registered under KvK number 65975839 in Eindhoven, with Dutch law in the terms. There is no S&OP cycle, and the price grows with order volume.

What Optiply does better than Kinaxis

  • Plan prices published on the website
  • Dutch BV with Dutch law in the terms
  • Quick start through standard integrations

Where Optiply is a step down from Kinaxis

  • Not a planning suite: no S&OP or network design
  • Price rises with order volume

Standout against Kinaxis. Optiply is the European tool where you can read the price before you talk to anyone.

optiply.com Visit Optiply

What actually breaks when you switch

Plan the exit before you sign the entry. Ask Kinaxis, in writing, which formats you can export your item master, history, bills of material and scenario definitions in, and test the export early, because the European vendors will want that data in their own structure. Check the notice period and renewal terms in your Kinaxis contract against the go-live date of the replacement.

Then deal with the soft costs. Retraining planners on a new tool, rebuilding integrations to your ERP, and agreeing new definitions of forecast accuracy all take longer than a licence negotiation. Run both systems for a full planning cycle, compare the orders each one proposes, and keep the old environment readable until the first full quarter of the new one has closed.

Is Kinaxis a US company, and does that change the data protection analysis?

No, Kinaxis Inc. is headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, and its website terms are governed by Ontario law. The privacy policy says it applies to Kinaxis Inc. and affiliated entities worldwide, and that personal information may be transferred to other countries under standard contractual clauses. Whether a given deployment sits in Europe is a question for the Data Processing Agreement and the hosting details in the Trust Centre, which this page did not assess.

What changes with a European vendor is the contracting entity and the supervisory authority. ToolsGroup B.V. in Amsterdam, OM Partners NV in Wommelgem, Vekia SAS in Lille and Syncron Holding AB in Stockholm are the controllers named on their own pages. That removes a transfer step from your paperwork, but it does not tell you where the servers stand, and most vendors here do not say.

Can a European tool really replace Kinaxis for a manufacturer?

For some manufacturers, yes. OMP's Unison Planning combines demand, supply, S&OP, scheduling and network design, ToolsGroup adds multi-echelon inventory optimisation and S&OP, and Sunstice links demand reviews to supply and revenue growth management. Each of them is an enterprise platform with a services arm, so the comparison is a proof of concept on your own data, not a feature checklist.

For others, a European tool replaces only a part. If most of your Kinaxis use is forecast-driven replenishment, Slimstock, Vekia or Optiply do that job with a lighter project. If you rely on concurrent scenario planning across many functions at once, expect to give something up or to run two tools side by side.

Which one to pick

If you run a large retail or consumer goods supply chain and want to stay at platform scale, shortlist RELEX Solutions and Sunstice. If you manufacture with fixed capacity and long lead times, OMP and ToolsGroup are the closest European counterparts. If aftermarket parts are most of your business, begin with Syncron, and if you want decisions delivered rather than a tool, look at Lokad.

If you use Kinaxis mainly for forecast-driven ordering, you do not need a platform replacement: Slimstock, Vekia, Flowlity, Intuendi and Optiply handle that scope with smaller projects, and Optiply will tell you the price up front. Whichever you choose, test it on your own twelve months of orders before you give notice on Maestro.

Frequently Asked Questions

For a full platform, RELEX Solutions (Finland), ToolsGroup (Netherlands) and OMP (Belgium) come closest, and Sunstice (France) adds revenue growth management. For a lighter forecast and replenishment job, Slimstock, Vekia, Flowlity, Intuendi and Optiply cover less ground with shorter projects. The right one depends on whether you replace the whole planning model or only the forecasting step.

No. The pages read on 23 October 2026 show a request-a-demo path and no price list for Maestro. Among the European alternatives on this page, Optiply is the only one with published plans, from €610 per month, while RELEX Solutions, ToolsGroup, OMP, Sunstice, Slimstock, Syncron, Vekia and Flowlity quote after a demo, and Lokad and Intuendi describe flat monthly fees by quotation.

ToolsGroup, Lokad and Vekia describe probabilistic forecasting as their method on their own pages, and Flowlity describes probabilistic AI forecasting. They produce a range of outcomes with probabilities that feeds safety stock and order quantities. Lokad goes furthest by expressing the whole decision in its Envision language, written and run by its own supply chain scientists.

Kinaxis lists spare parts as a solution on its navigation. On the European side, Syncron in Stockholm is built around service parts planning, dealer stocking and parts pricing, ToolsGroup names aftermarket parts as an industry, and Lokad publishes aeronautics and automotive solution pages. RELEX Solutions, Intuendi and Optiply fit retail ranges better than parts networks.

The pages read give no figure, and none is invented here. OMP describes advisory, implementation and training as separate service lines, which signals a project, while Flowlity advertises a free trial and Optiply connects through 50+ integrations, which signals a quicker start. Plan a period of parallel running before the old licence ends.
