European Alternatives to Jasper
Looking for a European alternative to Jasper? Jasper AI, Inc. is a San Francisco company whose terms are governed by Delaware law, with disputes sent to individual AAA arbitration and a class-action waiver unless you opt out, and whose published sub-processor list names only US-located processors.
Eleven European tools cover the job for marketing teams: brand-voice writers, SEO content editors, an AI SEO agent, a writing polisher and a model-agnostic AI workspace, from companies in Germany, Italy, Poland, Denmark and the Netherlands.
How we rank these tools — 4-step process
-
1
European ownership, verified
The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.
-
2
Category fit and hands-on review
What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.
-
3
Compliance and pricing check
GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.
-
4
Position on this page
Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

- neuroflash (Hamburg) is the nearest to Jasper in shape: AI marketing writing with brand voice, SEO analysis, German law, a 7-day trial and prices from €42 a month.
- NeuronWriter (Poland) and SEO.ai (Denmark) publish prices: NeuronWriter from $19 a month on yearly billing, SEO.ai at $149 a month per site with a 7-day trial.
- Contents (Milan) covers text, brand voice, images and translation; Surfer, WordLift and Textmetrics come at the job from SEO, knowledge graphs and tone checking.

Why people leave Jasper
Jasper is an AI content platform for marketing teams. You set up a brand voice, then use agents, templates and pipelines to draft campaign copy, SEO articles and personalised content, with a canvas for editing. On its pricing page, Pro is listed at $69 per seat per month ($59 on yearly billing), Business is priced on request, and there is a 7-day free trial.
It is run by Jasper AI, Inc. of San Francisco. Its Terms of Service (version 4.1, effective 30 May 2025) are a contract with that company, governed by Delaware law. Disputes go to individual arbitration with the AAA, in the US county where you live or in Delaware, with a class-action and jury waiver, unless you opt out under section 11(b).
Its sub-processor list (version 4, effective 28 October 2025) names 31 processors, all located in the US, including the model providers Anthropic, Cohere, Google Gemini and OpenAI for the optional agentic features. A data processing agreement with standard contractual clauses exists for EEA data. Eleven European tools cover the work, but they are not copies of Jasper: some write, some edit, and some sit in the SEO workflow.
- The contract is Delaware law and US arbitration Jasper AI, Inc. contracts under Delaware law, and its terms send disputes to individual AAA arbitration with a class-action waiver, unless you opt out. A European contracting party under German, Danish, Italian, Dutch or Polish rules, with courts in your own region, is a different footing. neuroflash and SEO.ai state the law of their own country in their terms.
- Every listed sub-processor is in the US Jasper publishes its sub-processors, which is good practice, and all 31 entries carry a US location, with four outside model providers for the agentic features. If your policy asks where processing happens, the list answers it. Some European tools below name EU hosting, such as Langdock, while others did not state a hosting location on the pages checked.
- You may not need a general writer Much of what teams buy Jasper for is SEO content, brand consistency or editing. NeuronWriter, Surfer and WordLift work from the search side, Textmetrics checks tone and accessibility, and DeepL Write polishes text you already have. A narrower tool can be cheaper than a full platform.
- Seat prices add up quickly Jasper lists Pro at $69 per seat a month, or $59 on yearly billing. Public prices elsewhere run from neuroflash at €42 a month (Essential) and NeuronWriter from $19 a month on yearly billing, up to WordLift at €799 a month. Compare what the tier actually includes, not the headline price.
What you have to replace, not just match
Write down what your team really does in Jasper: which templates, how many seats, whether you use brand voice, the canvas or the agents, and which languages. A team that mainly writes blog posts and ads needs a writer such as neuroflash. A team that mainly chases rankings needs an SEO editor.
Export your brand voice documents, style guides and best-performing copy before you leave, because you will need to recreate them in the new tool. Run both tools for a month on the same briefs, compare the drafts and the time spent editing them, and only then cancel the Jasper subscription.

Surfer is provided by Surfer Sp. z o.o., Plac Solny 14/3, Wroclaw, Poland (VAT PL8971860264). Its legal page is shown under a group brand called Positive, and we did not check the ownership structure. The terms page returned an error, so the governing law is unverified.
Its navigation lists a content editor, an AI writing assistant, a content score, AI visibility tracking and an SEO audit, with a start-for-free button. Its pricing page shows euro prices on yearly billing, but the split between content and visibility plans was unclear, so we quote no amount.
It is a good fit if search performance is the point and less so for brand-led campaign copy.
What Surfer does better than Jasper

- Content scoring for Google and AI search in one editor
- Free way to start
- Several tools beyond writing, such as audits
Where Surfer is a step down from Jasper

Its site now describes searching company knowledge with AI agents, which is a move from the writing assistant it was known for. The pricing page was blocked in our check, so no price is quoted.
Check the current plan limits and what it does for marketing copy before you rely on it as a Jasper replacement.
What TextCortex does better than Jasper
- German company with Berlin law in its terms
- Focus on your own company knowledge
- AI agents rather than only templates
- Contracting entity named in the terms
Where TextCortex is a step down from Jasper
- Price could not be verified
- Marketing-copy features less prominent than before

- Output quality was not tested for this page
Standout against Jasper. It has moved from a copy assistant toward agents that work on your company's own knowledge.
- Which law reaches it. EU (Germany). Jasper is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
- Source code. Closed source, as Jasper is.
- Independently checked. ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, HIPAA.
Best for: Teams that already have drafts and want clearer, error-free text

Its site describes Write as an assistant that improves your writing and adapts to your audience, with a free version and a Write Pro tier. Prices for Write were not clearly separated from the Translator plans, so none is quoted.
It does not offer campaign pipelines, templates or a brand-voice library, so it replaces only the editing part of Jasper.
What DeepL Write does better than Jasper
- German company known for language quality
- Free version available
- Fast to adopt: paste text, get a cleaner version
- Browser extensions for writing in place
Where DeepL Write is a step down from Jasper
- Not a drafting or campaign tool
- No brand-voice library
- Write prices not clearly separated from translation plans
- Governing law not verified
Standout against Jasper. It is the polishing tool here: a free version that improves text you already wrote.
- Which law reaches it. EU (Netherlands). Jasper is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
- Where the data sits. EU (Netherlands).
- Source code. Closed source, as Jasper is.

Its pricing page lists Business+ at €799 a month on yearly billing or €999 a month billed monthly, including the WordLift Agent, a knowledge graph, AI-powered content creation, research and audits, plus support from its SEO team.
It is the most expensive tool on this page, and built for a different budget than a single marketer.
What WordLift does better than Jasper
- Italian company under Italian law
- Structured data and a knowledge graph behind the content
- Strategic support from an SEO team included
- Published euro price
Where WordLift is a step down from Jasper
- From €799 a month, far above the other tools
- Built for enterprise SEO, not for casual copywriting
- Request-a-session sign-up rather than self-serve
- Heavier to learn than a writing tool
Standout against Jasper. It builds content on a knowledge graph of your own site and products.
Langdock
a model-agnostic AI workspace from Berlin
- Which law reaches it. EU (Germany). Jasper is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
- Where the data sits. European Union: the security page states the multi-tenant SaaS is hosted via Microsoft Azure on servers inside the EU, and that the application and most models (configurable) are hosted entirely in the EU.
- Source code. Closed source, as Jasper is.
- Independently checked. ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II claimed on its security page; no training on customer data.
Best for: Companies that want one governed AI tool for many jobs, including writing
Langdock is provided by Langdock GmbH, Greifswalder Str. 212, Berlin (Amtsgericht Berlin-Charlottenburg, HRB 254499). We loaded its terms but did not verify the governing law.
Its pricing page lists €25 per Standard seat and €99 per Business Max seat per user per month, excluding VAT, with a 7-day free trial. Its site states GDPR-compliant EU deployment and options for your own cloud or on-premises.
It is the weakest match for pure marketing copy, since it offers chat, agents and workflows instead of copy templates.
What Langdock does better than Jasper
- Berlin company with EU deployment stated on its site
- You choose among models
- Custom agents and workflows for many tasks
- Published seat prices and a 7-day trial
Where Langdock is a step down from Jasper
- No dedicated marketing-copy templates
- Governing law not verified
- You build your own writing agents
- Per-seat prices add up for big teams
Standout against Jasper. One workspace where you choose the model and build agents, instead of a single-purpose writer.
contentbird
a content operations platform for teams, from Berlin
Best for: Teams and agencies that need approvals, personas and an organised process
contentbird is provided by contentbird GmbH, Knesebeckstrasse 59-61, Berlin (Amtsgericht Berlin-Charlottenburg, HRB 136392 B).
Its homepage describes AI content operations: personas, a connected tool chain, predictable approvals, and agencies and freelancers securely integrated. It offers a demo request and a free content strategy checklist, and publishes no prices.
It focuses on process around content, so it suits teams that struggle with workflow more than with drafting.
What contentbird does better than Jasper
- German company with a named register entry
- Approvals and agency access built in
- Persona-based content
- Aimed at teams, not only individual writers
Where contentbird is a step down from Jasper
- No public prices; demo only
- Terms and governing law not checked
- No self-serve trial found
- Less obvious as a writing tool than neuroflash
Standout against Jasper. It is built around the process of producing and approving content, not only the text.
What actually breaks when you switch
Brand voice does not travel. Plan time to rebuild your voice and style rules in the new tool, and check the first drafts against your best Jasper output before you switch the whole team.
Several tools here are narrower than Jasper. NeuronWriter, Surfer and WordLift are SEO-led, Textmetrics and DeepL Write check or polish text, and Langdock is a general workspace. A team may need two tools to replace one.
Prices differ by unit: per seat (neuroflash, Langdock), per project (NeuronWriter) or per site (SEO.ai). Work out your team's cost on each basis, and check the VAT treatment and the yearly versus monthly price.
Is there a European tool that works exactly like Jasper?
The closest in shape is neuroflash: a Hamburg marketing writer with brand voice, an SEO analysis, browser extensions and team plans. Contents from Milan is similar, adding images and translation.
None copies Jasper's full set of agents, pipelines and integrations. If you rely on a specific Jasper workflow, test it in a trial first.
Which of these publish their prices?
neuroflash lists Essential at €42 and Pro at €84 per user a month on annual billing, excluding VAT. NeuronWriter lists plans from $23 a month, or $19 on yearly billing. SEO.ai lists $149 a month for one site and $299 for several. Langdock lists €25 per Standard seat and €99 per Business Max seat, WordLift lists €799 a month.
Contents, Surfer, TextCortex, Textmetrics and contentbird did not show a price we could verify, so none is quoted here.
Which are free or easy to try?
neuroflash, SEO.ai and Langdock offer a 7-day trial, NeuronWriter and Contents offer a free trial, and Surfer shows a start-for-free button. DeepL Write has a free version, with a Pro tier above it.
Trial terms differ on credit cards and limits, so read the signup page before you enter a card.
Do these tools use US models behind the scenes?
Some do, and the pages checked did not always say. Jasper names Anthropic, Cohere, Google Gemini and OpenAI as sub-processors. For the European tools, ask the vendor which model providers it uses and where processing happens, and look for a sub-processor list in the DPA.
Langdock states EU deployment on its own site. For the others, the entity location tells you who your contract is with, not necessarily where the model runs.
Which one to pick
If you want the nearest thing to Jasper, with AI copy, brand voice and an SEO check, start with neuroflash, which has published prices, German law and a 7-day trial. Contents is the other all-round writer, with images and translation added.
If the job is search content, look at NeuronWriter for the lowest published entry price, SEO.ai if you want articles drafted and published for you, and Surfer or WordLift for larger SEO programmes. Textmetrics and DeepL Write cover tone checks and polishing.
Langdock and contentbird are for teams that want a wider workspace or an organised content process. TextCortex now leans toward company-knowledge agents.
Be realistic about the gap. Jasper has a larger set of agents and integrations than any of these, and several tools here had unverified prices or governing law. Switch if you want a European contracting party and a court close to home, and keep Jasper if its workflows have no equivalent.
Frequently Asked Questions
neuroflash is the best all-round answer on this page for a marketing team: AI writing with brand voice, an SEO analysis, German law, a 7-day trial and published prices. NeuronWriter is the better choice if the work is mostly SEO content, and SEO.ai if you want an agent that drafts and publishes articles for you.
No. Jasper AI, Inc. is headquartered at 575 Market Street, San Francisco, and its terms are governed by Delaware law with individual AAA arbitration and a class-action waiver, unless you opt out under section 11(b).
Its pricing page lists Pro at $69 per seat per month, or $59 per seat with yearly billing, and Business on custom pricing, with a 7-day free trial. Prices change, so check the page when you decide.
neuroflash lists Essential at €42 a month and Pro at €84 per user a month on annual billing, excluding VAT, with a 7-day trial. NeuronWriter lists Bronze at $23 a month ($19 on yearly billing) for 2 projects, rising to $117 ($97 yearly) for 50 projects.
SEO.ai lists $149 a month for one website in one language and $299 a month for several sites or languages. WordLift lists Business+ at €799 a month on yearly billing or €999 monthly. Langdock lists €25 per Standard seat and €99 per Business Max seat per user per month, excluding VAT.
Its terms name TextCortex AI UG, c/o WeWork, Kemperplatz 1, Berlin, and state that disputes are governed by the laws of the State of Berlin. Its current site describes agents that search your company knowledge, so it fits teams that want an AI assistant on internal data more than a pure marketing writer.
Only for part of the job. DeepL Write rewrites and polishes text you already have, from DeepL SE in Cologne, with a free version and a paid Write Pro. It does not do campaign pipelines or brand-voice libraries, so it suits editing more than drafting.
All three work from search. Surfer and NeuronWriter are content editors that score a draft against ranking pages, and both offer AI writing. WordLift is a larger platform built on a knowledge graph with content creation, aimed at enterprise SEO, at €799 a month and up.
Contents lists several interface languages and an AI translation tool. DeepL is built on translation and writing improvement. For the others, test a draft in your language before you commit.
Not as a file you can import. Re-create the brand voice by pasting your style guide and best-performing copy into the new tool, and check the results on a few of your own briefs. Keep your Jasper account active until the new tool matches your standard.
Partly. Langdock is a Berlin AI workspace with a model-agnostic chat, custom agents and workflows, not a marketing-copy product. It makes sense if your team wants one governed AI tool for many jobs, including writing, and less sense if you only want templates for ads and blog posts.
