European Alternatives to Deel

Looking for a European alternative to Deel? Deel, Inc. is a US company in San Francisco, and the employment contracts, payroll and contractor payments for your people abroad run through its group, which has also taken over the London EOR firm Omnipresent.

Eleven European tools cover the job: seven employer-of-record and contractor platforms, two contractor-payment services and two managed payroll providers, from companies in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, Lithuania, Poland, Norway and Belgium.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • Deel, Inc. is a US group in San Francisco; the independent European EOR market is small, and Omnipresent and Boundless are reported to be part of Deel and Payoneer respectively.
  • WorkMotion (Berlin, WorkMotion Software GmbH) is the clearest German option, with EOR from EUR 499 and Direct Hiring from EUR 399 per talent per month on its pricing page.
  • Playroll (London) is the only one here that publishes prices for EOR, contractors and payroll together: $399 a month, $35 a month and from $10 per employee.
  • Rivermate (Amsterdam) and Teamed (London) are the other two published-price EOR platforms, and both also sell contractor products. Native Teams (London) has the lowest listed starting prices.
  • Lano (Berlin) and Zalaris (Oslo) are the two aimed at multi-country payroll for larger employers; Zalaris was bought by Norvestor in 2026.
  • EasyStaff (Vilnius) and Useme (Wroclaw) only pay contractors, and SD Worx (Antwerp) delivers its EOR through a US partner, so it is listed for payroll only.

Why people leave Deel

Deel is the best-known name in hiring across borders. It is an employer of record (EOR), it pays contractors in many currencies, and it runs payroll in countries where you have no company. The service is real and widely used. The company is Deel, Inc., based in San Francisco and incorporated in the United States, so the contract for your staff in Berlin or Lisbon is with a US group.

The European side of this market is small and consolidating. Public reports say Deel took over Omnipresent of London in October 2025 and that Payoneer bought Dublin-based Boundless in January 2026, so both are left off this page.

What remains is a short list of independent firms, some with their own entities in dozens of countries and some that run payroll for large employers. Remote is also left out: its terms name a Delaware company for US customers and we could not confirm that the group is controlled from Europe.

This page is about employer of record, international payroll and contractor management, not domestic payroll. If you only run a payroll in one country, see our pages for Gusto, ADP and BambooHR. Here are eleven providers, seven of which cover EOR and contractors together, two that only pay contractors and two that run managed payroll for larger employers.

  • Your employees contract with a US group Deel, Inc. is a US company, and the person you hire in Spain or Poland gets an employment contract from a Deel entity that sits inside that group. The platform holds their pay data, their national ID details and their contract text. For some employers, that is a jurisdiction question as much as a price one, and it is the reason to look at EOR providers that contract from a European company, ideally one that employs your people through its own entities.
  • The independent European field is shrinking Omnipresent was reported as acquired by Deel in October 2025, which put a UK competitor inside the incumbent. Boundless went to Payoneer in January 2026. A European alternative that is independent today can be bought tomorrow, so the page notes ownership and the contracting entity for each tool, and says where we could not read the customer terms.
  • Prices are published for some, hidden for others WorkMotion, Playroll, Rivermate, Teamed and Native Teams publish starting prices for their EOR plans, between $99 and about EUR 560 per employee per month depending on provider and plan. Lano, Worksome, Zalaris and SD Worx sell through quotes, and the pricing page of Deel was not checked for this comparison, so no Deel price is quoted here. Check the current rates side by side before you move anyone.
  • No one covers every country the way Deel claims to Several of these firms say they reach 170 or 180 countries, but that usually means a network of partners in the smaller markets and their own entities in the larger ones. WorkMotion, Teamed, Rivermate and Zalaris are the ones that talk about owned entities. Ask each provider which entity will employ your person in the exact country you need, because that is who is legally responsible.

What you have to replace, not just match

Separate the three jobs Deel does for you. Employer of record, contractor payments and payroll for your own local entities are different products. WorkMotion, Playroll, Rivermate, Lano, Teamed and Native Teams do the first two together, EasyStaff and Useme only pay contractors, and Zalaris and SD Worx run payroll rather than act as a flexible employer of record.

Move one person first. An EOR employee cannot simply be transferred between providers on a given date, so most firms handle it as a new employment with the new provider, and you should plan the notice period and any benefit changes with the old one. Keep Deel in place for the rest of the team until the first full pay cycle has run cleanly with the new provider.

How each alternative compares to Deel

#1

WorkMotion

the clearest German EOR, with published starting prices

Best for: Companies hiring in several European countries that want EOR, direct hiring and contractors from one German provider

WorkMotion is run by WorkMotion Software GmbH in Berlin, entered in the commercial register of the Amtsgericht Charlottenburg under HRB 219211 B. Its Terms and Conditions name that GmbH as the contracting party for Employer of Record, Direct Hiring and Contractor Management, and give Berlin as the exclusive court.

The pricing page shows EOR from EUR 499 per talent per month and Direct Hiring, where you register as an employer in another country, from EUR 399, with a claim of 160 or more countries. The direct hiring terms refer to local partners, so not every country is covered by an entity of its own.

Pricing is a starting figure with a talk-to-sales button, and the contractor product has its own terms rather than a price on that page.

What WorkMotion does better than Deel

  • Berlin GmbH with a register number, where Deel is a US corporation
  • Starting prices published for EOR and Direct Hiring
  • Three products (EOR, Direct Hiring, Contractor Management) in one set of terms
  • German courts named in the terms

Where WorkMotion is a step down from Deel

  • Smaller than Deel, with partners in some countries
  • Prices shown are starting figures that depend on the country
  • No contractor price on the pricing page
  • Starting prices only, with a talk-to-sales step for a quote

Standout against Deel. It is the only option here with a Berlin commercial-register entry, a published EOR price and direct hiring under one contract.

#2

Playroll

EOR, contractors and payroll with prices published for all three

Best for: Companies that want to mix EOR, contractor management and payroll and see each price before talking to anyone

Playroll is run by Playroll Limited, a company in England and Wales (registration number 13596140) with a registered office in London. Its terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and it is a UK company, so outside the EU.

The site lists EOR from $399 a month, contractor management at a flat $35 a month and global payroll in 35 or more markets from $10 per employee per month, with payroll analytics for consolidating other providers. It says there are no onboarding or offboarding fees and no annual commitment.

It claims 180 or more countries for EOR. Those are the vendor's own figures, and the site does not break them down by owned entity or partner.

What Playroll does better than Deel

  • EOR, contractor and payroll prices all published on one page
  • No onboarding or offboarding fees, no annual commitment, as stated by the vendor
  • UK company under English law, where Deel is a US corporation
  • Payroll analytics to consolidate other providers

Where Playroll is a step down from Deel

  • UK, not EU, so GDPR applies through the UK adequacy decision
  • Coverage claims are the vendor's own and not broken down by owned entity
  • Prices are starting figures and can change by country
  • Smaller than Deel

Standout against Deel. It is the only option here that publishes a price for EOR, contractors and payroll side by side.

#3

Rivermate

an Amsterdam EOR with contractor products and 38 owned entities, formed by a 2026 merger

Best for: Companies that want EOR and Contractor of Record from a Dutch contracting entity and a published price range

Rivermate B.V. is based at Herengracht 420 in Amsterdam, and its terms are governed by Dutch law with the courts of the Netherlands. The pricing page lists EOR from $319 to $639 per employee per month and Contractor of Record from $149 per contractor per month, and the site also offers contractor payments and visa support.

The company says it holds 38 owned legal entities and covers more than 180 countries. Those figures come from a 2026 consolidation: on 28 April 2026 Eos Global Expansion, Serviap Global and Hightekers EOR were merged under the Rivermate name, according to the company and press releases.

The press release is dated London and Dubai, and the group behind the brand also runs a separate freelancer-management business under the Hightekers name. The terms we read are from Rivermate B.V., but the wider group structure is less clear than the other firms on this list.

What Rivermate does better than Deel

  • Dutch contracting entity and Dutch law in the terms, where Deel is a US corporation
  • Published EOR and Contractor of Record prices
  • Claims 38 owned entities rather than only partners
  • Visa support and contractor payments in the same platform

Where Rivermate is a step down from Deel

  • Brand formed from a merger in April 2026, so the record is short
  • Wider group structure and ownership are less transparent than the others here
  • Price range is wide and depends on country, headcount and expat versus local hire
  • Entity and coverage figures are the company's own

Standout against Deel. It is the only Dutch EOR here with Contractor of Record priced on the page, from $149 a month.

#4

Lano

Berlin payroll consolidation with EOR and contractor management

Best for: Companies that already use local payroll providers in several countries and want one place to see them, with EOR when needed

Lano is run by Lano Software GmbH in Berlin (register number HRB 198116 B at the Amtsgericht Charlottenburg, VAT DE319716098). The company says it was founded in 2018, with its headquarters in Berlin and a team spread over many countries.

The platform covers payroll consolidation, where data from several local providers is combined, as well as global payroll, EOR, contractor management and payments. It lists integrations with Workday, Personio, HiBob and Sage, and says it covers more than 170 countries. Payroll services in each country are delivered with local partners, and SWIFT payments cost EUR 25 per transaction.

The pricing page explains the model but does not publish a price for the EOR, so there is no figure to quote here. SOC 2 Type II is the company's own claim.

What Lano does better than Deel

  • Berlin GmbH with a register number, where Deel is a US corporation
  • Payroll consolidation across other providers, which Deel does not target
  • Integrations with Workday, Personio, HiBob and Sage
  • EOR, payroll and contractor management in one platform

Where Lano is a step down from Deel

  • No EOR price published
  • Payroll in each country is delivered through local partners
  • Smaller than Deel, with the coverage claim being the vendor's own
  • SWIFT payments cost EUR 25 per transaction

Standout against Deel. It is the only option here built around consolidating payroll from several local providers into one view.

#5

Teamed

a London EOR with a flat EUR 560 monthly fee and entity management

Best for: Companies that want a fixed monthly EOR fee and a path to setting up their own entity later

Teamed is run by Teamed Ltd, a company in England and Wales (number 11671583) with a registered office at Holborn Viaduct in London, according to its privacy notice. The site lists an EOR at a fixed EUR 560 a month per employee, contractor management from EUR 45 a month and entity management.

It says it has its own entities in 57 countries, with partners covering the rest of the 187 it names. The entity management service sets up your own company in a country and hands it back, which is what you need once an EOR stops being the cheaper option.

We could not find Teamed's client terms on its site, so the contracting entity here is read from the privacy notice rather than from a contract. Ask for the agreement before you sign.

What Teamed does better than Deel

  • A fixed EUR 560 monthly EOR fee with no foreign-exchange margin, as stated by the vendor
  • Contractor management from EUR 45 a month
  • Entity management for the point where an EOR stops making sense
  • UK company, where Deel is a US corporation

Where Teamed is a step down from Deel

  • Client terms not found on the site, so the contracting entity is inferred
  • UK, not EU
  • Owned entities in 57 countries, partners for the rest
  • Not the cheapest EOR on the list

Standout against Deel. It is the only option here that pairs a fixed EOR fee with setting up your own entity afterwards.

#6

Native Teams

a London platform with the lowest listed starting prices

Best for: Small teams that want EOR, contractors and payroll priced from the entry level

Native Teams is run by Native Teams Limited, a company in England and Wales (number 12584623, incorporated 4 May 2020) at Level 39, Canada Square, London. Its terms apply the regulations of the United Kingdom to matters not otherwise regulated.

The pricing page lists EOR from $99 per employee per month, Contractor of Record from $99, Contractor Pay from $19 per contractor per month and Entity Management from $149 a month, each with one free admin account. It also sells global payroll, gig payments and a multi-currency wallet, and says it holds its own entities in 95 or more countries.

The listed prices are starting figures with a custom quote behind them, so the final price will depend on the country and setup.

What Native Teams does better than Deel

  • EOR from $99 and Contractor Pay from $19, the lowest starting prices listed here
  • Own entities in 95 or more countries, according to the vendor
  • Payroll, gig payments and a multi-currency wallet on the same platform
  • UK company under UK law, where Deel is a US corporation

Where Native Teams is a step down from Deel

  • Coverage is smaller than the 160 or more countries of the larger rivals
  • Starting prices only, final price needs a quote
  • UK, not EU
  • Prices and the owned-entity claim are the vendor's own and were not independently verified

Standout against Deel. It is the only option here with EOR and Contractor Pay both starting under $100 a month.

#7

Worksome

Copenhagen freelance management with classification, EOR and Agent of Record

Best for: Larger companies that manage many freelancers and need classification and compliance more than payroll

Worksome is a Danish freelance management platform. Its Master Services Agreement names Worksome ApS in Copenhagen as the provider, with governing law set by where the customer is based: Denmark for most countries, England for UK customers and Colorado for North America. A UK company, Worksome Ltd, and a US company, Worksome USA, Inc., exist in the group but the MSA does not name them.

The product covers sourcing, classification, contracts and payments to contractors in 150 or more countries, plus an Employer of Record service and an Agent of Record service where Worksome takes on contractor compliance. Prices are not published and are given in a demo.

It is built for companies with a large external workforce, so a small team hiring one person abroad will find the EOR side lighter than the dedicated EOR platforms above.

What Worksome does better than Deel

  • Danish contracting entity and Danish law for most customers, where Deel is a US corporation
  • Worker classification and an Agent of Record service built in
  • Aimed at managing a large freelance workforce, not just paying it
  • EOR and contractor payments in one platform

Where Worksome is a step down from Deel

  • No published prices
  • US customers are governed by Colorado law in the MSA
  • EOR is a smaller part of the product than for the dedicated EOR firms
  • Enterprise-oriented, less suited to a team of ten

Standout against Deel. It is the only option here built around classifying and managing a large freelancer pool, with Agent of Record as an option.

#8

EasyStaff

Vilnius contractor payments at a 4 percent commission

Best for: Small companies paying a handful of freelancers abroad, who want per-payment pricing without a subscription

EasyStaff is run by EasyStaff UAB in Vilnius (company number 305643163), which the customer terms name as the contractor. Matters not regulated in the terms follow UK legislation. A Scottish EasyStaff LP is also registered, but the customer terms name the Lithuanian UAB.

The site presents three products: Payroll, for paying remote teams and freelancers under a B2B contract, Invoice, for freelancers to bill international clients, and Connect, a marketplace. It states a 4 percent commission on transactions with task payments from EUR 39. A press release also announced an EOR service for hires in the EU and Montenegro.

The registered owners at the UK partnership are two Lithuanian residents and the UAB itself, which is worth knowing if ownership matters to your policy.

What EasyStaff does better than Deel

  • A flat 4 percent commission with no subscription, as stated by the vendor
  • Lithuanian contracting entity, where Deel is a US corporation
  • Freelancers can invoice international clients without a foreign bank account
  • Quick payouts, stated at one to three days

Where EasyStaff is a step down from Deel

  • Mostly contractor payments; the EOR service is newer and thinly documented
  • The terms follow UK legislation, not Lithuanian law
  • A 4 percent commission costs more than a flat fee at higher volumes
  • No payroll for your own entities

Standout against Deel. It is the only option here that charges a pure per-payment commission and runs on a Lithuanian UAB.

#9

Zalaris

Oslo managed payroll and EOR for larger employers, bought by Norvestor in 2026

Oslo, NorwayEnterprise managed payroll; quoted per organisation, not published#13 in payroll

  • Which law reaches it. EEA, not EU (Norway). Deel is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Source code. Closed source, as Deel is.

Best for: Large employers that want managed payroll across many countries and an EOR through their own local entities

Zalaris ASA is a Norwegian company with its registered office in Oslo (organisation number 981 953 134). Its EOR page says Zalaris becomes the legal employer through its own local entities, with a focus on Europe, and its home page says it manages payroll in more than 150 countries.

Kona BidCo AS, indirectly owned by the Norvestor IX fund, launched an offer for all the shares in spring 2026 and reported about 88 percent acceptance by May, followed by a mandatory offer and a planned delisting. The company is still the contracting entity named in its legal notice, so the change is one of ownership.

It sells through account managers. No price is published and the EOR page does not mention contractors.

What Zalaris does better than Deel

  • Own local entities for the EOR, as stated by Zalaris
  • Managed payroll in a large number of countries for enterprises
  • Norwegian company, where Deel is a US corporation
  • HR and payroll outsourcing beyond the EOR

Where Zalaris is a step down from Deel

  • No published prices and a sales-led process
  • No contractor product on the EOR page
  • Recently acquired by a private equity fund and being delisted
  • Norway is in the EEA, not the EU

Standout against Deel. It is the only option here that combines managed payroll in 150 or more countries with an EOR run through its own entities.

#10

Useme

a Polish settlement platform for freelancers, with tax handling in Poland and Mexico

Best for: Companies paying freelancers across borders that want the platform to issue the invoice and settle the job

Useme is operated by Useme sp. z o.o. in Wroclaw (KRS 0000467478), and its terms are governed by Polish law. An Estonian affiliate, Useme OU, handles archiving and copyright transfers. It works as an intermediary: the client pays, the freelancer uploads the work, and the platform settles the payment after the client accepts it.

The platform takes a commission on each settled job, with the rates in a pricing attachment, and sells subscriptions for freelancers who want to send unlimited invoices without per-job commission. For freelancers from some countries, including Poland and Mexico, it withholds the applicable taxes.

It is a contractor and freelancer tool, not an employer of record or a payroll service, so it replaces only the contractor-payment part of Deel.

What Useme does better than Deel

  • Polish company under Polish law, where Deel is a US corporation
  • The platform issues invoices and settles the job after acceptance
  • Withholds taxes for freelancers from certain countries such as Poland and Mexico
  • No subscription for the client side, with commission charged on settled jobs

Where Useme is a step down from Deel

  • Contractors and freelancers only, no EOR and no payroll
  • Commission rates are in an attachment and were not checked here
  • Tax handling is described only for a few countries
  • Not designed for long-term employment

Standout against Deel. It is the only option here where the platform holds the payment until the client accepts the delivered work.

#11

SD Worx

Antwerp managed payroll across Europe, with EOR through a US partner

Antwerp, BelgiumEnterprise payroll and HR services; quoted per organisation, not published#12 in payroll

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Belgium). Deel is run from the United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Source code. Closed source, as Deel is.

Best for: Mid-size and large employers that want one payroll provider for several European countries

SD Worx NV is a Belgian payroll and HR group based in Antwerp, listed on this site as SD Worx NV (KBO BE 0644.841.746). Its international site says it offers managed payroll in more than 26 European countries and covers 120 worldwide through a partner network. Our existing page for SD Worx puts its own legal entities at around 30 countries.

The ownership is a Belgian group, with WorxInvest holding 77.5 percent and the investor CVC as a minority shareholder since June 2023, according to SD Worx's press release. That is a European structure, though one with a private equity partner.

Its EOR service is delivered with Globalisation Partners, a US company, so the employer in that case would not be SD Worx. We list it for managed payroll, and we do not count the EOR as European. No prices are published.

What SD Worx does better than Deel

  • Own legal entities across many European countries, as stated on this site
  • One payroll partner for several European markets
  • Belgian group, where Deel is a US corporation
  • Long record: the group dates to 1945

Where SD Worx is a step down from Deel

  • EOR is delivered through a US partner, not by SD Worx
  • No published prices and a sales-led process
  • Built for larger employers, not a company of ten
  • No contractor payment product on the page we checked

Standout against Deel. It is the oldest option here, and the only one where the EOR goes to an American partner, so it is a payroll pick rather than an EOR pick.

sdworx.com/en-en Visit SD Worx

What actually breaks when you switch

The hard part of leaving Deel is the people, not the platform. An EOR employee has a contract with the provider, not with you, so moving means a new contract and a new payroll start date. Plan the change with the employee, and check statutory notice periods and benefit waiting periods in their country first.

Contractors are easier than employees. A services agreement can usually be ended and replaced with a new platform on short notice, but check whether the old provider has an agent-of-record clause that sets a notice period, and keep your invoices and contract records because they sit on the old platform.

Check the entity before the price. Ask each provider which entity employs your person in the exact country, which law governs the contract, and whether it uses a partner there. The cheapest listed price tends to come with a partner in the smaller markets.

Is there a European company that does what Deel does?

Not at the same scale. WorkMotion, Playroll, Rivermate, Teamed and Native Teams each offer EOR plus contractor products from a European or UK company, but none has Deel's size, and most reach fewer countries through their own entities than the headline number suggests.

If you hire mostly in Europe, WorkMotion and Teamed are the ones that stress own entities in major European markets. If you also pay many contractors, Playroll, Rivermate and Native Teams publish contractor prices on their sites.

What is the difference between an EOR and a contractor platform?

An employer of record becomes the legal employer of your hire in their country. It issues the employment contract, runs payroll, pays tax and social charges and carries the employment-law risk, while you direct the work. A contractor platform only draws up a services agreement and moves the money, and the person stays self-employed.

That is why the two jobs cost so differently. Contractor tools on this page start at $19 to $35 a month, while the EOR plans start between $99 and about EUR 560 a month per employee.

Do these providers all use their own legal entities?

No, and they say so in different ways. Rivermate says it holds 38 owned entities, Teamed says it has its own entities in 57 countries and works with partners for the rest, WorkMotion and Lano mention local partners in some markets, and Zalaris says it employs through its own local entities. SD Worx hands EOR to a US partner.

Treat the entity as the question to ask in a sales call. It decides who is the employer in a given country and which law applies to the employment contract.

Which tools here are not an employer of record at all?

EasyStaff and Useme only settle payments with contractors and freelancers. Lano and Zalaris lean towards payroll for larger employers, even though both also offer EOR. SD Worx runs managed payroll in 26 or more European countries and sells EOR through Globalisation Partners, a US company, so its EOR is not counted here.

Which one to pick

If you hire in several European countries and want an EOR from a German company, WorkMotion is the first to compare, with a published EOR price and direct hiring under the same contract. If you want EOR, contractors and payroll priced separately, Playroll is the one that publishes all three.

Rivermate and Teamed are the other EOR platforms with published prices, and Native Teams lists the lowest starting prices. Lano suits a company that wants to consolidate payroll from several local providers and add EOR when needed.

For paying freelancers only, EasyStaff and Useme are the cheapest to start with, and Worksome is the heavier tool for companies with a large freelance workforce. For large employers that want managed payroll across Europe, Zalaris and SD Worx are the two to talk to.

Be realistic about scale. None of these is as large as Deel, and several rely on partners in smaller countries. Switch if the US ownership of your employment contracts matters to you, and ask every provider for the contracting entity and the country entity in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

WorkMotion is the strongest all-round pick on what we could verify: a Berlin GmbH with a registered entry, EOR from EUR 499 per talent per month, Direct Hiring and contractor management under one contract. Playroll is the best fit if you want EOR, contractor management and payroll with prices published for all three. Rivermate, Lano, Teamed and Native Teams are close behind and differ mostly in price and coverage. None matches Deel in size.

Yes. Deel, Inc. is based in San Francisco and is a US corporation. Public reports also say it acquired the London EOR firm Omnipresent in October 2025, so a former UK competitor now sits inside the same group.

WorkMotion and Lano are in Berlin, Rivermate in Amsterdam, Worksome in Copenhagen, EasyStaff in Vilnius, Useme in Wroclaw and SD Worx in Antwerp. Zalaris is in Oslo, in the EEA. Playroll, Teamed and Native Teams are UK companies, outside the EU since Brexit but under the UK adequacy decision for data transfers.

On the published pages, WorkMotion starts at EUR 499 a month per talent, Teamed charges a fixed EUR 560 a month, Playroll starts at $399 a month, Rivermate shows a range of $319 to $639, and Native Teams starts at $99 a month. These are starting prices and can change with country and headcount. Lano, Worksome, Zalaris and SD Worx only quote on request.

Yes. Playroll lists contractor management at a flat $35 a month, Teamed starts at EUR 45 a month per contractor, Native Teams lists Contractor Pay from $19 and Contractor of Record from $99 a month, Rivermate lists Contractor of Record from $149 a month, and EasyStaff charges a 4 percent commission. Useme and Worksome focus on freelancers and contractors too.

For payroll across many countries under one provider, Lano consolidates and runs multi-country payroll, and Zalaris and SD Worx run managed payroll for larger employers. For employing individuals without a local entity, the EOR platforms (WorkMotion, Playroll, Rivermate, Teamed, Native Teams) are the ones to compare.

Yes. Public reports say Deel acquired Omnipresent in October 2025 and Payoneer acquired Boundless in January 2026. Neither is independent any more, and Omnipresent's site did not resolve when we checked.

Remote is a major EOR, but its terms name Remote Technology Services, Inc., a Delaware company, for customers with US addresses, and Remote Europe Holding B.V. in Amsterdam for the rest. We could not confirm that the group is controlled from Europe, so it is not listed.

It changed hands in 2026. Kona BidCo AS, held through the Norvestor IX fund, reported acquiring about 88 percent of the shares in May 2026 and planned a delisting. Norvestor is a European private equity firm, but the company is no longer a listed independent, so check the current contracting entity before you sign.

Yes, but through a partnership. Its site says the EOR service is delivered with Globalisation Partners, which is a US company, so the employer in that case would be the partner. SD Worx itself runs managed payroll in 26 or more European countries, and that is the reason it is listed.

Those pages compare domestic payroll and HR suites. This one is about hiring and paying people in countries where you have no company: employer of record, international payroll and contractor management.
