European Alternatives to CrowdStrike

Looking for a European alternative to CrowdStrike? CrowdStrike, Inc. is a Delaware corporation whose terms use California law and the courts of Santa Clara County in North America, and send disputes from Europe to arbitration in London under the LCIA rules, with New York law applying when the customer is the claimant.

Eleven European tools cover endpoint protection and detection and response for businesses: antivirus and EDR/XDR platforms and sovereign-cloud EDR vendors from companies in Slovakia, Romania, Germany, France, Finland, Denmark, Austria and Poland.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • CrowdStrike, Inc. is a Delaware corporation whose terms use California law in North America and send European disputes to LCIA arbitration in London.
  • ESET (Bratislava) offers prevention, an XDR module and a managed 24/7 option, with a free trial with no card, under Slovak law and the Bratislava I District Court.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone (Bucharest) has a 30-day business trial, and its contract law changes with your country: German for Germany and Austria, Dutch for the Benelux and Nordics, Romanian elsewhere in Europe.
  • G DATA (Bochum), TEHTRIS and HarfangLab (France) lead on European hosting and certification claims, with XDR or EDR as the core.
  • WithSecure (Helsinki) and Heimdal (Copenhagen) are full platforms, under Finnish and Danish law, with a note on ownership: private equity in both cases, CVC and Marlin respectively.
  • IKARUS, Stormshield, DriveLock and Arcabit cover less of Falcon and suit narrower cases.

Why people leave CrowdStrike

CrowdStrike Falcon is one of the most widely used endpoint platforms for businesses. A single agent gives next-generation antivirus, device control and, on higher tiers, endpoint detection and response, with a managed service called Falcon Complete on top.

Its pricing page is public and in dollars: Falcon Go at $7.99 per device per month ($59.99 a year, limited to 100 devices), Falcon Pro at $14.99 ($99.99), Falcon Enterprise at $19.99 ($184.99), and Falcon Complete on request, with a 15-day free trial and no credit card.

It is sold by CrowdStrike, Inc., a Delaware corporation, which gives an address in Sunnyvale, California in its terms. Those terms are governed by California law, with the courts of Santa Clara County, for customers in North America.

For customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, disputes go to arbitration under the LCIA rules in London, under New York law if you are the claimant and English law if CrowdStrike is. The terms we read name no separate European contracting entity.

To be fair to CrowdStrike, its data processing agreement, as far as we could verify, says it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, promises 30 days' notice of new sub-processors and falls back on standard contractual clauses if the framework lapses.

This page is for businesses that want a European contracting party and a European court or law. Eleven European tools qualify, and they range from full EDR and XDR platforms to antivirus with a reporting module, so they are not interchangeable.

  • Your contract and your forum are outside Europe CrowdStrike, Inc. is a Delaware corporation, and its terms use California law in North America. For Europe, the Middle East and Africa the forum is arbitration in London under the LCIA rules, and the governing law depends on who starts the case: New York law if you do, English law if CrowdStrike does. If you want a contracting entity in the EU, a statute you can read in your own language and a court in your own region, the tools below are different. ESET's licence is under Slovak law, Heimdal's under Danish law and WithSecure's under Finnish law, and Bitdefender applies German, Dutch or Romanian law depending on where you are.
  • The sub-processor and transfer question is narrower than it looks CrowdStrike's DPA is better than many: it points to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and gives 30 days' notice of new sub-processors. The framework is still a political arrangement between the EU and the US, and some organisations, such as those under NIS2 or DORA, prefer not to depend on it. Tools such as TEHTRIS (hosted at OVHcloud in Europe), IKARUS (Austria or on-premises), DriveLock (Europe) and HarfangLab (cloud or on-premises) describe hosting that avoids the question. Check what each vendor actually promises in its contract.
  • The price is public for CrowdStrike and mostly not for the Europeans This is where CrowdStrike is ahead. Its pricing page lists every tier per device. None of the eleven tools below showed per-device prices in the text we could read: they use quotes, calculators or shops. What most of them offer instead is a way to try the product. ESET describes a trial with no credit card, Bitdefender a 30-day trial, G DATA trial versions and DriveLock 30 days free, while HarfangLab, TEHTRIS and IKARUS use demos and contact sales.
  • The European answers cover different parts of the job ESET, Bitdefender, G DATA, WithSecure and Heimdal are broad platforms with prevention, XDR or EDR and managed options. HarfangLab and TEHTRIS are detection and response vendors built around European hosting and certification. IKARUS sells endpoint security with an EDR option based on HarfangLab. Stormshield, DriveLock and Arcabit cover less of Falcon, with application control, device control or antivirus as the core. Choose by what you need to detect and who will respond.

What you have to replace, not just match

List what Falcon does for you today: which operating systems, how many endpoints, whether you use the managed service or your own analysts, and which integrations feed your SIEM or ticketing. A fleet of laptops that mainly needs strong prevention and an EDR console moves to several of these. A team that relies on a 24/7 managed service or CrowdStrike's threat intelligence should check the managed options at ESET, Bitdefender, G DATA, TEHTRIS and Heimdal first.

Run the new agent next to the old one on a pilot group before you remove Falcon, and check for conflicts, since two endpoint agents can slow a machine or block each other. Plan the uninstall with the tamper protection in mind, keep your detection rules and exclusions in a document, and compare detection results on the same test machines, not on the vendors' marketing.

How each alternative compares to CrowdStrike

#1

ESET

the broadest and easiest to try, from Bratislava

Bratislava, SlovakiaPer seat per year, published for business tiers#1 in endpoint protection

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Slovakia). CrowdStrike, Inc. is incorporated in Delaware, United States, and run from Sunnyvale, California, United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. European Union.
  • Source code. Closed source, as CrowdStrike is.
  • Independently checked. ISO 27001.

Best for: Small and mid-size businesses that want prevention, XDR and a managed option from one vendor

ESET's licence is with ESET, spol. s r.o., Einsteinova 24, Bratislava (Commercial Register of Bratislava I, Section Sro, Entry 3586/B, business number 31333532). It is governed by Slovak law, with the Bratislava I District Court.

Its business pages describe the ESET PROTECT Platform with prevention, detection and response, an XDR module and a "Try before you buy" trial with no credit card. PROTECT Core covers 5 to 99 devices and PROTECT Premium, 10 to 99 devices, adds 24/7 expert oversight and a guided onboarding call.

No amounts appeared on the pages we could read, so no prices are quoted here. The terms cover the product EULA we opened; the services contract for a managed plan may differ.

What ESET does better than CrowdStrike

  • Slovak contracting entity with a register entry, where CrowdStrike is a Delaware corporation
  • A trial with no credit card
  • Prevention, XDR and managed oversight in one platform
  • Law and court in the EU, not LCIA arbitration in London

Where ESET is a step down from CrowdStrike

  • No public per-device prices in the text we read
  • A smaller threat research and response organisation than CrowdStrike's
  • Plans stop at 99 devices on the online route
  • We opened the product EULA, not the managed services contract

Standout against CrowdStrike. A broad platform with a no-card trial and a licence under Slovak law.

Bitdefender GravityZone

a 30-day trial and a contract that follows your country

Bucharest, RomaniaPer seat per year, published#2 in endpoint protection

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Romania).
ISO 27001.

Best for: Businesses that want to pilot an EDR and endpoint platform for a month and keep local contract law

The business agreement is with S.C. BITDEFENDER S.R.L., Orhideea Towers, Bucharest. The governing law depends on where the customer is: German law with venue in Munich for Germany and Austria, Dutch law with venue in The Hague for the Netherlands, Belgium and the Nordic countries, and Romanian law with the courts of Bucharest for the rest of Europe.

Its business terms give a 30-day evaluation for up to 3 users and 50 endpoints. The GravityZone Business Security page offers a free trial and a configurator for 1 to 100 devices, but shows no amounts in the text.

The Romanian trade register number was cut off in the text we read, and the terms mention resellers and distributors as the usual route to buy.

What Bitdefender GravityZone does better than CrowdStrike

  • A 30-day business trial of up to 50 endpoints
  • German, Dutch or Romanian law by region, where CrowdStrike uses LCIA arbitration in London
  • Endpoint protection with EDR and XDR tiers in one console
  • Large international vendor with a Romanian base

Where Bitdefender GravityZone is a step down from CrowdStrike

  • No public per-device price in the text we read
  • Purchases usually go through partners
  • Several different laws can apply, which complicates a multi-country contract
  • The register number could not be confirmed

Standout against CrowdStrike. A 30-day trial and a regional choice of contract law.

G DATA

XDR and managed XDR, developed and hosted in Germany

Bochum, GermanyPer seat per year, published#5 in endpoint protection

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Germany). CrowdStrike, Inc. is incorporated in Delaware, United States, and run from Sunnyvale, California, United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. Germany.
  • Source code. Closed source, as CrowdStrike is.
  • Independently checked. No-backdoor guarantee, German TeleTrusT seal.

Best for: German and DACH businesses that want a local vendor with 24/7 managed detection

G DATA CyberDefense AG is at G DATA Campus, Koenigsallee 178 a, 44799 Bochum (Amtsgericht Bochum, HRB 6886).

Its business range lists Endpoint Security, an XDR platform, Managed XDR with 24/7 monitoring and German-based support, incident response with guaranteed reaction times and penetration testing. It states "developed, hosted and managed in Germany" and a no-backdoor guarantee, and mentions ISO 27001:2022 and an AV-Comparatives EDR certification.

The shop and trial versions exist, but no business prices were in the text we read, and we did not read the terms for the governing law of a business contract.

What G DATA does better than CrowdStrike

  • German company with a register entry and German support
  • Managed XDR with German-based analysts, by its own account
  • Hosting in Germany, by its own account
  • Incident response and pen-testing from the same vendor

Where G DATA is a step down from CrowdStrike

  • Prices could not be verified
  • The governing law of the business terms was not checked
  • Smaller international reach than CrowdStrike
  • The "no backdoor" and hosting claims are vendor statements

Standout against CrowdStrike. Managed XDR with German analysts and German hosting.

HarfangLab

a certified French EDR, in the cloud or on-premises

Paris, FrancePer endpoint, per year#5 in SIEM & Security Monitoring

  • Which law reaches it. EU (France). CrowdStrike, Inc. is incorporated in Delaware, United States, and run from Sunnyvale, California, United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Source code. Closed source, as CrowdStrike is.

Best for: Public bodies and regulated companies that want an EDR under French or German certification

HarfangLab SAS is at Tour Campus Cyber, 5-7 rue Bellini, 92800 Puteaux (RCS Nanterre 839 045 697, share capital €170,984).

Its site lists EDR, EPP and attack surface management, with ANSSI and BSI certification, deployment in the cloud or on-premises, a single lightweight agent, YARA and Sigma rules and a fully API-enabled design. It describes itself as a 100% European platform with data hosted in Europe and supports NIS2, DORA and KRITIS requirements.

There is a demo and a tour but no free trial or price on the page, and we did not read the terms for the governing law.

What HarfangLab does better than CrowdStrike

  • ANSSI and BSI certification, by its own account
  • On-premises deployment as an option
  • Detection and response is the core product, not an add-on
  • French company with a register entry

Where HarfangLab is a step down from CrowdStrike

  • No self-serve trial and no public price
  • A smaller company with a narrower service organisation
  • Governing law of the contract was not checked

TEHTRIS

EDR and XDR hosted in Europe, outside the CLOUD Act by its own account

Paris, FranceEnterprise pricing on request#3 in endpoint protection

  • Which law reaches it. EU (France). CrowdStrike, Inc. is incorporated in Delaware, United States, and run from Sunnyvale, California, United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. France.
  • Source code. Closed source, as CrowdStrike is.
  • Independently checked. ANSSI-qualified components.

Best for: French and European organisations that want a sovereign EDR with a managed option

The legal notice on tehtris.com names Reak-T, trading as TEHTRIS, at 56-58 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris (RCS Paris 106 496 029). The XDR terms are titled "TEHTRIS (REAK-T) XDR CGU", which suggests the same entity is the contracting party. The website itself is hosted by Webflow, a US company, but the product is a separate matter.

Its product page describes TEHTRIS EDR for workstations and servers, a single console for prevention, detection and response, hosting at OVHcloud in Europe "outside the US CLOUD Act", 24/7 managed detection (MDR) and an account manager service. It lists ENISA and MITRE ATT&CK recognition.

No price or trial appeared on the pages we read.

What TEHTRIS does better than CrowdStrike

  • Stated hosting in Europe at OVHcloud
  • EDR, XDR and MDR from one European vendor
  • Older Windows, Linux and macOS versions are supported, by its own account
  • French contracting entity with an RCS number

Where TEHTRIS is a step down from CrowdStrike

  • No public price and no trial
  • The entity name differs from the brand, which should be confirmed in the contract
  • Governing law of the XDR terms was not read
  • A small customer base next to CrowdStrike's

Standout against CrowdStrike. EDR and MDR hosted at OVHcloud in Europe, with the CLOUD Act question answered in its own words.

WithSecure

Elements XDR, under Finnish law

Helsinki, FinlandPer seat, quoted through partners#6 in endpoint protection

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Finland).
ISO 27001.

Best for: Mid-market companies and MSPs that want an XDR platform and co-security services from Helsinki

WithSecure Corporation (WithSecure Oyj), domiciled in Helsinki, sets Finnish law as the default in its terms, with arbitration under the Finland Chamber of Commerce rules, seat Helsinki, one arbitrator, in English. A New York and JAMS variant exists for US subscriptions.

Its site lists the Elements platform with Exposure Management, Extended Detection and Response and co-security services, for mid-market businesses and MSPs. In November 2025 a consortium of CVC Capital Partners and its founder Risto Siilasmaa completed a takeover of WithSecure, according to news results.

We found no trial or price on the pages we read, and the terms name no business ID.

What WithSecure does better than CrowdStrike

  • Finnish law and arbitration in Helsinki as the default, where CrowdStrike uses London LCIA and New York law
  • XDR, exposure management and co-security services in one platform
  • Aimed at MSPs, with a partner route
  • Headquarters in Helsinki

Where WithSecure is a step down from CrowdStrike

  • Arbitration only, no court option in the default terms

Copenhagen, DenmarkPer endpoint, quoted#11 in endpoint protection

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Denmark). CrowdStrike, Inc. is incorporated in Delaware, United States, and run from Sunnyvale, California, United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. Customer-selectable data centre: EU (Netherlands or Germany), UK, US or UAE.
  • Source code. Closed source, as CrowdStrike is.

Best for: Small and mid-size IT teams and MSPs that want endpoint detection plus patch management

Heimdal Security A/S is at Vester Farimagsgade 1, 1606 Copenhagen V (VAT 35 80 24 95). Its licence is governed by Danish law, with the Copenhagen city court as the venue.

Its site lists XDR, EDR, managed XDR (24/7) and patch and asset management, and says it supports NIS2, GDPR, DORA and ISO 27001. The licence lets customers choose a data region, with Azure in the Netherlands, the UK, the US or the UAE, or AWS in Germany, the UK or the US.

According to news results, Heimdal has been owned by the US investor Marlin Equity Partners since 2020. The contracting entity stays Danish. We saw no price or trial on the pages we opened.

What Heimdal does better than CrowdStrike

  • Danish law and the Copenhagen court, where CrowdStrike uses London arbitration
  • Patch management and detection from the same vendor
  • A selectable data region, including EU ones
  • Managed XDR available

Where Heimdal is a step down from CrowdStrike

  • US and UAE data regions are also on offer, so the choice matters
  • Owned by a US private equity firm since 2020
  • No price or trial in the text we read
  • Less depth in threat intelligence than CrowdStrike

Standout against CrowdStrike. Detection and patching in one platform, with a selectable data region.

  • Source code. Closed source, as CrowdStrike is.
  • Independently checked. OPSWAT Platinum, Virus Bulletin VB100, Cyber Trust Austria label.

Best for: Austrian and DACH organisations that want local hosting and a local partner

IKARUS Security GmbH is at Erdberger Laende 40-48, 1030 Vienna (Firmenbuch FN 64708 i, UID ATU15191405).

Its business pages list IKARUS anti.virus with central monitoring, and "HarfangLab Guard featuring IKARUS" as an EDR and EPP offering. It states hosting in Austria or on-premises. Contact is by sales hotline, email and a webshop.

The EDR is built on HarfangLab technology, so you depend on two European companies. We saw no price or trial on the page.

What IKARUS does better than CrowdStrike

  • Hosting in Austria or on-premises, by its own account
  • A local Vienna vendor and sales route
  • Antivirus and EDR from the same contract
  • Austrian company with a register entry

Where IKARUS is a step down from CrowdStrike

  • The EDR is HarfangLab technology, not its own

Stormshield

endpoint security from a French network-security vendor

Issy-les-Moulineaux, FranceEnterprise pricing on request#8 in endpoint protection

Mostly the EEA, with international transfers under EU standard contractual clauses.
  • Source code. Closed source, as CrowdStrike is.
  • Independently checked. ANSSI CSPN, CCN-LINCE (Spain), Cybersecurity Made in Europe label.

Best for: Organisations that already use Stormshield firewalls and want endpoint protection from the same vendor

Stormshield is a French simplified joint-stock company at 2-10 rue Marceau, 92130 Issy-les-Moulineaux (RCS Nanterre 428 173 975, share capital €2,793,881.60). Its website is hosted by OVHcloud.

Its site lists Stormshield Endpoint Security for workstations and servers, with "certified and qualified products" and an advisories portal. For pricing, trial and quotes it sends you to a sales line and a contact form.

It is best known for network security, so its endpoint product is a smaller part of the range.

What Stormshield does better than CrowdStrike

  • French company with a register entry and French support
  • One vendor for firewall and endpoint if you already use Stormshield
  • Certified and qualified products, by its own account
  • No US contracting party

Where Stormshield is a step down from CrowdStrike

  • Quote only; no price, no trial in the text we read

DriveLock

application and device control, with a 30-day free trial

Munich, GermanyPer endpoint, quoted#9 in endpoint protection

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Germany). CrowdStrike, Inc. is incorporated in Delaware, United States, and run from Sunnyvale, California, United States, so the CLOUD Act obliges the provider to hand over data on a valid order regardless of which country the servers are in.
  • Where the data sits. European Union (Microsoft Azure EU data centres).
  • Source code. Closed source, as CrowdStrike is.
  • Independently checked. ISO 27001, ISO 9001, TeleTrusT "IT Security made in Germany / made in EU".

Best for: Security teams that want a zero-trust approach based on application and device control

DriveLock SE is at Landsberger Strasse 396, 81241 Munich (HRB 230288, Amtsgericht Muenchen).

Its site lists application control and device control, vulnerability management, detection and response, BitLocker management and security configuration management. It offers "30 Tage kostenlos testen" (30 days free), says development and hosting are entirely in Europe, and lists Common Criteria EAL 3+, BSI C5 and ISO 27001.

No prices were on the page. It is a different approach from an EDR-first platform like Falcon: it restricts what may run instead of mainly hunting for what ran.

What DriveLock does better than CrowdStrike

  • A 30-day free trial with no commitment
  • Application and device control are the core, which reduces attack surface
  • German SE with a register entry, and certifications listed
  • Development and hosting in Europe, by its own account

Where DriveLock is a step down from CrowdStrike

  • Detection and response is a module, not the core of the product
  • No prices in the text we read
  • A different approach, so a straight replacement of Falcon is not guaranteed
  • The governing law was not checked

Standout against CrowdStrike. A control-first approach with a 30-day free trial and Common Criteria certification.

Arcabit

a Polish antivirus vendor with an XDR reporting module

Warsaw, PolandEnterprise pricing on request#12 in endpoint protection

  • Which law reaches it. EU (Poland).
  • Independently checked. Virus Bulletin VB100.

Best for: Polish organisations that prefer a domestic vendor and central management

Arcabit Sp. z o.o. gives an address at ul. Graniczna 50, Blizne Laszczynskiego, 05-082 (Warsaw/Bemowo). The KRS and NIP numbers were not on the homepage we read.

Its business range lists Arcabit Endpoint Security, Small Office Security and "RoundKick XDR", described as a reporting module for Arcabit Administrator that consolidates event data. A request-a-quote button is the only route to a price.

It is the thinnest of the eleven for replacing Falcon: its EDR-like function is a reporting layer, and presence outside Poland is small.

What Arcabit does better than CrowdStrike

  • Polish vendor with local support
  • Central administration for many installations
  • No US contracting party
  • Polish-language product

Where Arcabit is a step down from CrowdStrike

  • No trial and no public price
  • The XDR module is a reporting module, not a full response platform
  • The register numbers were not found on the page
  • Little presence outside Poland

Standout against CrowdStrike. A domestic Polish antivirus vendor with central management.

arcabit.pl Visit Arcabit

What actually breaks when you switch

The hard part of leaving Falcon is the cut-over. Two endpoint agents on one machine can conflict, and CrowdStrike's tamper protection means the uninstall needs a maintenance token. Plan a pilot group, a rollback and a window for each wave, and do not remove Falcon from a machine until the new agent has run on it without incident.

Detection content does not move. Your exclusions, custom rules and response playbooks have to be rebuilt in the new console, and your SIEM or ticketing integrations need to be checked against the new vendor's API. Write down what Falcon does for you today before you start.

Prices and terms need a written quote. None of these tools showed per-device prices in the text we read, so ask for a quote in euros with the term, the minimum devices and whether managed detection is included, and ask which law and court apply to your contract.

Hosting and ownership are worth checking. Heimdal offers US and UAE regions as well as European ones, and WithSecure and Heimdal are both under private equity ownership. A European contracting entity is not the same as European control or European storage, so read the sub-processor list.

Is there a European tool that does what CrowdStrike does?

ESET, Bitdefender, G DATA, WithSecure and Heimdal come closest in breadth: an endpoint agent, an XDR or EDR console, and a managed detection option. HarfangLab and TEHTRIS are the closest in focus, as detection and response vendors with European hosting.

None publishes the same breadth of threat intelligence and incident response as CrowdStrike. If that is why you chose Falcon, compare the managed services and response times in writing before you move.

Which of these can I try without talking to sales?

ESET describes a trial with no credit card, Bitdefender a 30-day business trial of up to 50 endpoints, G DATA trial versions and DriveLock a 30-day free trial. CrowdStrike has its own 15-day trial for comparison.

HarfangLab, TEHTRIS, WithSecure, IKARUS, Stormshield and Arcabit direct you to a demo or a quote form on the pages we read.

Do any of these publish their prices?

Not in the text we could read. ESET sells PROTECT Core and Premium for 5 to 99 and 10 to 99 devices through its subscription page, and Bitdefender has a configurator for 1 to 100 devices, but no amount appeared on the pages we opened. CrowdStrike publishes dollar prices per device.

Ask each vendor for a quote in euros that states the term, the minimum number of devices and whether the managed service is included.

Does it matter that the vendor is European for a security tool?

It matters most for the contract: which law and court apply, which entity processes your telemetry and where it is stored. For an endpoint agent that sees files, processes and user names, that is part of your data protection and NIS2 or DORA picture, though not the only part.

It does not make a tool better at detection. Judge that on tests and a pilot, and treat claims such as "no backdoor" or "outside the CLOUD Act" as the vendor's statement until your contract says so.

Which one to pick

If you want the broadest and easiest start, look at ESET and Bitdefender, which both let you try the product without a sales call, and at G DATA if you want German hosting and managed XDR. If European certification and hosting matter most, HarfangLab and TEHTRIS are built around that, and WithSecure and Heimdal are full platforms with managed options.

IKARUS, Stormshield, DriveLock and Arcabit suit narrower cases: Austrian hosting with a French EDR engine, endpoint protection next to a firewall you already own, control-first security with a 30-day trial, and a domestic Polish vendor. Do not expect any of them to match Falcon end to end.

Be realistic about the gap. CrowdStrike has public prices, a 15-day trial, a managed service and a large threat intelligence organisation, and its DPA, as far as we could verify, is better than many. Switch if you want a European contracting party, a law and court close to home and European hosting, and stay if your response depends on Falcon's intelligence and managed team.

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no single best one without a criterion. ESET and Bitdefender are the broadest and easiest to try, G DATA, TEHTRIS and HarfangLab are the strongest on European hosting and certification, and WithSecure and Heimdal are full platforms with managed options. Pick by size, by whether you need a managed service and by where your data may live.

No. CrowdStrike, Inc. is a Delaware corporation and its terms give an address in Sunnyvale, California. North American customers are under California law, and customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa go to LCIA arbitration in London.

It offers a data processing agreement, and as far as we could verify it says it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, gives 30 days' notice of new sub-processors and has standard contractual clauses as a fallback. Whether that is enough depends on your own risk assessment and sector rules.

ESET (XDR module), Bitdefender, G DATA (XDR and Managed XDR), HarfangLab (EDR), TEHTRIS (EDR and XDR), WithSecure (Elements XDR), Heimdal (XDR, EDR and MXDR) and IKARUS (EDR based on HarfangLab) describe detection and response on their own sites. Arcabit has an XDR reporting module, and DriveLock lists detection and response among its modules.

ESET PROTECT Premium includes expert oversight, G DATA sells Managed XDR, TEHTRIS and Heimdal list 24/7 managed services, and WithSecure lists co-security services. Check response times and the language of the analysts in your contract.

Its public pricing page lists Falcon Go at $7.99 per device per month or $59.99 billed annually (up to 100 devices), Falcon Pro at $14.99 or $99.99, and Falcon Enterprise at $19.99 or $184.99. Falcon Complete is on request. Prices are in dollars and exclude any discount you negotiate.

You can for a pilot, but two full endpoint agents can conflict, so test on a small group first and set exclusions both ways. Then move the rest in waves and remove Falcon only after the new agent has been running without trouble.

It differs. TEHTRIS says its product is hosted at OVHcloud in Europe, IKARUS says Austria or on-premises, DriveLock says development and hosting entirely in Europe, G DATA says developed and hosted in Germany, and HarfangLab offers cloud or on-premises. Heimdal lets you pick a region, including US and UAE options, so check the region you choose. Read each vendor's sub-processor list.
