Detailed Review
Hostinger is one of Europe's largest hosting companies, based in Lithuania, and its website builder is the front door to that business. Describe your site in a sentence and the AI generates a first draft — structure, copy and images — which you then edit by dragging.
The commercial proposition is the bundle: builder, hosting, free domain for the first year and email, in European data centres, for a few euros a month. Against Squarespace's pricing, the difference is substantial.
AI Generation and Editing
The AI draft is a starting point rather than a finished site, but it solves the blank-page problem that stops most small business sites from ever launching. Editing is drag-and-drop with sensible constraints, so it is difficult to produce something badly broken.
E-commerce is included on higher plans, covering a small catalogue, payments and basic order management without a separate platform.
European Hosting
Data centres in France, Germany, Lithuania and the Netherlands mean a European business can keep its site, email and customer data in the EU. Hostinger is a Lithuanian group headquartered in Vilnius, and EU customers contract with Hostinger International Limited, registered in Larnaca, Cyprus, so the contracting party is EU-established too.
Performance is helped by hosting close to the audience, which for a European small business is a practical benefit as well as a compliance one.
The Pricing Catch
The advertised prices require multi-year commitments and rise significantly at renewal — a standard hosting-industry practice but one worth planning for. Even at renewal rates it typically remains cheaper than the American builders, but the first-year figure is not the ongoing cost.
Limitations to Consider
The builder is less refined than Framer or Squarespace: templates are more generic and design control is more limited, so a distinctive site takes work. There is no meaningful export path, so leaving means rebuilding. Support quality has a mixed reputation, and the renewal pricing structure requires attention.
Who Should Use Hostinger Website Builder
Small businesses, tradespeople and individuals who need a working site with hosting, domain and email in one cheap European package, and who value getting online quickly over design distinctiveness.

Frequently Asked Questions
It offers European data centres including France, Germany, Lithuania and the Netherlands; Hostinger is a Lithuanian group and EU customers contract with its Cyprus-registered entity, so both the hosting and the contracting party can be in the EU.
The advertised price requires a multi-year commitment and rises at renewal, which is standard in hosting. Even at renewal rates it typically remains cheaper than Squarespace or Wix, but budget for the higher ongoing figure.
Not easily. Like most website builders, there is no meaningful export, so moving means rebuilding. If portability matters, a self-hosted CMS such as Kirby or Strapi is the better choice.
Yes, on higher plans, covering a small catalogue, payments and basic order management — enough for a modest online store without a separate e-commerce platform.
Hostinger Website Builder is built as a European alternative to Squarespace: Lithuanian host bundling an AI website builder with some of the cheapest European hosting and a free domain. It will not be a like-for-like feature match in every respect, so check the review above for where the two genuinely differ before switching.
