Capture One came out of Phase One, the Danish medium-format camera company, which explains its priorities: colour accuracy and tethered shooting, both of which matter enormously in studio and fashion work and rather less to casual users.
It is one of the very few products on this site that is not a compromise against its American competitor — a large number of professional photographers consider it straightforwardly better than Lightroom.
