Detailed Review
Disco is software you install, not a hosted service. You load a log file, pick the case ID, activity and timestamp columns, and the application draws the process map locally.
Fluxicon is a small Eindhoven company. Its privacy policy names Fluxicon BV and states it sells licences, training and community events around process mining.
File-based workflow
Disco reads CSV and Excel files as well as XES and MXML logs, the formats used by the academic ProM toolkit. Exports go back out as CSV, XES or MXML, including filtered subsets, and as PDF, PNG or JPEG for maps.
Case IDs, resources, attributes and timestamps can be anonymised in exports, which helps when you hand a data set to an external consultant.
Exploring variants and filters
The process map can show absolute frequency, case frequency, repetitions, total, mean and maximum duration. A variations explorer groups cases by the path they took, and an animation replays the process on the map.
Filters cover timeframe, variation, performance, endpoint, attribute and follower patterns, so a subset can be isolated without writing queries.
What it leaves to others
There is no live connector layer in the product description. Extraction from SAP or another source has to happen before the file reaches Disco, and sharing results means exporting maps or sending the project file.
Limitations to Consider
Event logs must be extracted outside the tool, because the product page lists file import and no source-system connectors. There is no shared server, dashboard portal or workflow automation, so it suits individual analysis more than a company-wide programme. Pricing is not published: the buy page only mentions time-limited and permanent licences on request. For connectors and governance, look at QPR ProcessAnalyzer or SAP Signavio.
Who Should Use Fluxicon Disco
Process analysts, auditors and consultants who want a quick local tool and are happy to prepare their own data extracts.
