European Video Interviewing Tools
Video interviewing software records or hosts candidate interviews, so every applicant is filmed, stored and scored by a third party. These European alternatives to HireVue keep that sensitive material with vendors contracting from the EU, the UK or Switzerland, and cover one-way screening, AI-led interviews and applicant tracking systems with video built in.
How we rank these tools — 4-step process
-
1
European ownership, verified
The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.
-
2
Category fit and hands-on review
What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.
-
3
Compliance and pricing check
GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.
-
4
Position on this page
Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect the order tools appear in. It never buys a listing: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect the order in which tools appear; it never affects whether a tool is listed. Editorial policy

Frequently Asked Questions
For a dedicated one-way screening tool, Willo (United Kingdom) and Hireflix (Spain) are the clearest fits, and both publish their prices. Cammio (Netherlands) suits graduate and high-volume programmes with EU data centres, and Recright (Finland) adds structured interviews on top of video screening. Pick Tengai (Sweden) if you want an AI avatar to run the first interview instead of a recorded video.
Willo lists £49 per live role on its Lite plan and Enterprise from £2,999 a year. Hireflix lists $75 and $150 per month on yearly billing for its Small and Medium plans. Cammio says it starts from €620 per month, and Tribepad lists its Gro ATS from £579 per month. Tengai, viasto, Skeeled and Recright quote on request.
If you already run an ATS, a dedicated tool such as Willo, Hireflix or Cammio plugs into it and you only pay for video. If you are choosing an ATS anyway, Skeeled, Tribepad and Workable include video interviewing inside the system, with Skeeled and Tribepad as European-contracting options and Workable contracting from the United Kingdom.
Recruitment is a regulated use under the EU AI Act, so any vendor scoring candidates has to explain how. Tengai states that its AI only runs the interview dialogue and that candidates are ranked mechanically on competency requirements, and Willo describes its AI as assisting with insights while people make the decision. Ask every vendor for the same written explanation before you buy.
The Complete Guide to European Video Interviewing Tools
One-way video, live video and AI interviews are different products
The word video interviewing covers three jobs. One-way tools such as Willo, Hireflix, Cammio and Recright let candidates record answers to the same questions in their own time, and your team reviews them later.
Live tools handle a scheduled call, which Zoom or Teams already do. AI interview tools such as Tengai run the conversation themselves and return a ranked list. Decide which of the three you need first, because the price models, the data you store and the regulatory questions differ for each.
Check who stores the recordings and where
A recorded candidate interview is personal data that you are responsible for under the GDPR. Cammio says all its data centres are in the EU, and Recright states that data is stored in Dublin and Frankfurt. Willo says personal data is primarily hosted in the EU but that limited processing in the United States can occur through some providers. Read the sub-processor list and the retention settings before you sign, and ask how a candidate can have a recording deleted.
