European Alternatives to GoDaddy

Looking for a European alternative to GoDaddy? GoDaddy Inc. is listed on the NYSE (GDDY), issues its press releases from Tempe, Arizona, and describes itself as the world's largest domain name registrar, with a product range that runs from domains and web hosting to a website builder, online store and professional email.

The European hosts below cover the same bundle of domain, hosting and mailboxes from companies in Germany, Denmark, France, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, most of them with prices and renewal terms printed on the plan page.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • GoDaddy Inc. is listed on the NYSE as GDDY and datelines its press releases from Tempe, Arizona, so its customer contracts sit inside a US-listed group.
  • GoDaddy describes itself as the world's largest domain name registrar, with more than 80 million domain names and over 20 million customers according to its own site.
  • ALL-INKL.COM includes three to twenty domains in its plans, from EUR 4.95 per month including 19% VAT with no minimum term.
  • Simply.com prints the first-year and renewal price side by side, for example EUR 0.49 rising to EUR 4.49 per month excluding VAT on Starter.
  • A site made in the GoDaddy website builder cannot be moved as files, so it has to be rebuilt on any European host.

Why people leave GoDaddy

GoDaddy is the name most people type first when they want a domain.

On its investor and corporate site the company calls itself the world's largest domain name registrar, says it looks after more than 80 million domain names for over 20 million entrepreneurs, and employs nearly 6,000 people.

The parent is GoDaddy Inc., listed on the New York Stock Exchange as GDDY, and its recent press releases carry a Tempe, Arizona dateline. That scale is the first reason people look elsewhere: the account you open for a 12-month domain sits inside a US-listed group.

The second reason is breadth. The footer of godaddy.com lists domains, web hosting, WordPress hosting, a website builder, an online store, a point-of-sale system, payment acceptance, an AI logo generator, professional email, SSL certificates and an AI product called Airo.

One login holds all of it, which is convenient until you want to move one piece. A small business that bought a domain, a mailbox and a builder site in one afternoon often discovers later that each product has its own renewal date and its own export route.

The third reason is language and jurisdiction. The page footer names GoDaddy Operating Company, LLC as the copyright holder, and the company's official site is in English and reports to US investors. Buyers in Germany, France or Denmark who want a contract partner in their own legal system, an invoice from a European company and support in their own language will not find that at the incumbent. They do not have to give up the bundle to get it.

  • The contracting company and its parent are American GoDaddy Inc. trades as GDDY on the NYSE and issues its releases from Tempe, Arizona; the website footer credits GoDaddy Operating Company, LLC. For an organisation that must show where its processors are established, a US group is an answer that needs a transfer assessment, while a host such as ALL-INKL.COM or o2switch is an answer that needs none.
  • Everything is sold from one shop window Domains, hosting, builder, store, email and SSL all appear in the same footer. That helps a first-time site owner and hurts anyone who wants a different mail provider or a cheaper host later, because the domain, DNS and mailboxes are tied to one account. The European hosts below mostly hand you a conventional control panel and plain mailboxes you can copy over IMAP.
  • The product direction is moving toward AI tooling Recent GoDaddy releases are about Airo, an agentic operating system for small businesses, a developer platform for AI agents, Node.js hosting launched on 29 September 2026 and web app hosting with an API for AI coding tools. Someone who wants a plain site with a mailbox is paying attention to a roadmap that points elsewhere.
  • Support and pricing are not written for your market GoDaddy sells through its Guides, available around the clock according to its own site. Our attempt to read its pricing and terms pages was refused by its servers, so no GoDaddy price appears here; the point is the reverse. The European plans below print their price, VAT basis and, for Simply.com and o2switch, the renewal figure on the page.

What you have to replace, not just match

The domain comes first, because it is the one item that outlives every host. A transfer between registrars needs the domain unlocked, an authorisation code from the old registrar and a DNS plan so the site and mail keep resolving during the switch.

Moving the registration to a European registrar such as Hostpoint, which says it manages 1,300,000 domains, or to the registrar function that ALL-INKL.COM and manitu bundle with hosting, removes the biggest hostage from the account. Do that last, after the site and mail already work on the new host.

Then the mailboxes. GoDaddy sells professional email as a product on its own; if that is what your staff use, you replace the product, not just the inbox. Several European hosts include mailboxes in the hosting plan: manitu lists unlimited mailboxes in every plan, o2switch unlimited mailboxes with cPanel, Hostpoint unlimited 5 GB mailboxes. If you want hosted calendars and shared contacts, check each plan page, because a hosting mailbox is IMAP and spam filtering, not a full groupware suite.

Finally the site itself. A WordPress site on GoDaddy hosting moves as files and a database. A site built in the GoDaddy website builder does not: the builder output is tied to the service, so you rebuild it in WordPress or another system, and the European hosts do not ship a drop-in replacement for the builder. An online store or point-of-sale setup on GoDaddy needs the same treatment, plus a payment provider contract of its own.

How each alternative compares to GoDaddy

#1

ALL-INKL.COM

The closest match to GoDaddy's domain-plus-hosting bundle, from a German owner-run host

Friedersdorf, GermanyPrivat EUR 4.95, Privat+ EUR 7.95, Premium EUR 9.95 and Business EUR 24.95 per month, including 19% VAT, with no minimum term#2 in Web Hosting

Best for: Small businesses in Germany who want several domains and hosting on one invoice

Against GoDaddy's bundle of domain and hosting, ALL-INKL.COM matches the idea and changes the unit of sale. Its four plans sell storage and included domains together: Privat with 50 GB and three domains, Privat+ with 100 GB and five, Premium with 250 GB and ten, Business with 500 GB and twenty. The price is a single monthly figure including 19% VAT, from EUR 4.95, with no minimum term.

The company is a sole proprietorship in Friedersdorf run by René Münnich, with servers in Dresden. That is a very different counterparty from a NYSE-listed group. The first month of a new plan is free, once per customer within 365 days, so you can move a site over and test it before you pay.

What ALL-INKL.COM does better than GoDaddy

  • Domains are part of the plan price instead of a separate purchase
  • There is no minimum contract term to be tied to
  • The owner, address and data centre location are named on the vendor's pages
  • The first month is free for a new customer

Where ALL-INKL.COM is a step down from GoDaddy

  • No security certification such as ISO 27001 is named on its pages
  • It has no equivalent of GoDaddy's builder, store or Airo products
  • A sole proprietorship has a continuity risk that a large group does not

Standout against GoDaddy. It puts three to twenty domains into the plan price, which is the closest European copy of how GoDaddy customers actually buy.

Simply.com

A Danish host that prints renewal prices up front and keeps data in the EU

Skanderborg, DenmarkStarter Suite EUR 0.49 per month in the first year, then EUR 4.49; Basic EUR 0.49 then EUR 6.99; Standard EUR 0.53 then EUR 13.95; Pro EUR 3.00 then EUR 21.00; Enterprise EUR 4.00 then EUR 32.00; all excluding VAT#7 in Web Hosting

Best for: Small European sites that want a very cheap first year and a written EU data statement

GoDaddy customers who have been caught by a renewal jump will notice that Simply.com puts the first-year and the renewal price in the same row. Starter is EUR 0.49 per month in the first year and EUR 4.49 afterwards, Standard EUR 0.53 rising to EUR 13.95, all excluding VAT. A free DNS-only service is also listed, useful if your records should live apart from your host.

Simply.com A/S in Skanderborg, formerly UnoEuro, belongs to team.blue, whose address is in Ghent, Belgium, so the owner is a European group. It states that all data is processed and stored in the EU, primarily in Denmark. The refund window is 14 days, the shortest on this page.

What Simply.com does better than GoDaddy

  • The renewal price is shown next to the first-year offer
  • The vendor commits in writing to EU processing and storage
  • A free DNS-only service lets you split DNS from hosting

Where Simply.com is a step down from GoDaddy

  • Starter has only 500 MB of storage and one site
  • Standard climbs steeply on renewal
  • The money-back window is 14 days

Standout against GoDaddy. It states the renewal price beside every first-year offer, which is the habit a GoDaddy buyer most wants to see.

manitu

A German host with a free domain, unlimited mailboxes and a one-month term

St. Wendel, GermanyWebhosting M EUR 1 per month for the first 6 months, then EUR 6.09; L EUR 12.19, XL EUR 16.26 and XXL EUR 20.33 per month; VAT included at the rate of the visitor's selected country (21% for the Netherlands when read); no setup fee#8 in Web Hosting

Best for: German-speaking owners who want domain, mail and WordPress in one short contract

manitu's four plans each carry a free domain, unlimited mailboxes with spam and virus filtering and one-click WordPress, which covers the domain, email and site pieces of the GoDaddy shopping basket in one monthly price. Webhosting M is EUR 1 for the first six months and EUR 6.09 afterwards, VAT included at the rate of the visitor's country, on a one-month term with no setup fee.

manitu GmbH in St. Wendel runs its data centre in the same building as its office, on electricity from renewable sources, and names its managing director in the imprint. Its pages and legal text were in German when we read them, which is a real hurdle for English-only buyers.

What manitu does better than GoDaddy

  • A free domain and unlimited mailboxes come with every plan
  • The term is one month with no setup fee
  • The data centre sits in the provider's own building

Where manitu is a step down from GoDaddy

  • The pages and contract text we read were in German
  • The EUR 1 price lasts six months only
  • No security certification is stated

Standout against GoDaddy. It includes the domain and unlimited mailboxes in every plan and sells them on a one-month term.

o2switch

A French host that puts everything into one cPanel account instead of a product catalogue

Clermont-Ferrand, FranceGrow EUR 7 per month excluding VAT (EUR 84 per year); Cloud EUR 1.86 per month excluding VAT in the first year, then EUR 16; Pro EUR 6.25 per month excluding VAT in the first year, then EUR 24#4 in Web Hosting

Best for: Owners of many sites who want one account in France under French law

Where GoDaddy lists a dozen products, o2switch sells one shape of account: unlimited NVMe storage, sites, mailboxes and databases on cPanel, plus a free domain for the first year. The Grow plan costs EUR 7 per month excluding VAT (EUR 84 per year), and the Cloud and Pro plans differ by CPU and RAM rather than by feature list.

o2switch SAS in Clermont-Ferrand says it runs its own data centres in France and calls itself 100% independent. The contract is governed by French law. A 30-day guarantee exists, but a refund closes the account and deletes the hosted data, which makes it a poor test run.

What o2switch does better than GoDaddy

  • Storage, sites and mailboxes are unlimited rather than tiered
  • cPanel is a familiar panel with a straightforward migration route
  • The governing law and courts are French

Where o2switch is a step down from GoDaddy

  • Cloud rises from EUR 1.86 to EUR 16 per month after the first year
  • Prices exclude VAT
  • A refund deletes your data

Standout against GoDaddy. One cPanel account with unlimited sites and mailboxes replaces GoDaddy's catalogue of separate products.

netcup

The cheapest regular price here, for people comfortable with SSH and a 12-month term

Karlsruhe, GermanyWebhosting 1000 EUR 2.69, Webhosting 2000 EUR 4.03, Webhosting 4000 EUR 8.10 and Webhosting 8000 EUR 13.17 per month, including 19% VAT#5 in Web Hosting

Best for: Budget-minded, technically confident users who want certified German hosting

netcup undercuts the rest of this page on regular price: Webhosting 1000 is EUR 2.69 per month including 19% VAT with 50 GB SSD, and the vendor says prices hold for the whole term. SSH is available on every plan, and a WordPress toolkit comes with Webhosting 2000 and above. At least one domain is included in each plan.

netcup GmbH in Karlsruhe has been part of the Austrian Anexia group since 2016 and shows ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 27701. The product page we read shows a 12-month minimum contract, and netcup also operates sites in Virginia and Singapore, so check the location of your plan at checkout.

What netcup does better than GoDaddy

  • The regular price is published and stays fixed for the term
  • Four ISO certifications are displayed
  • SSH access is included on every plan

Where netcup is a step down from GoDaddy

  • A 12-month minimum contract is shown on the product page we read
  • It is group-owned, so control sits with Anexia
  • Some netcup locations are outside Europe

Standout against GoDaddy. It combines the lowest regular euro price on the page with four displayed ISO certifications.

Hostpoint

A Swiss registrar and host with Swiss storage and a month of free testing

Rapperswil-Jona, SwitzerlandStandard CHF 15.90, Smart CHF 17.90 and Business CHF 29.90 per month, VAT included#3 in Web Hosting

Best for: Swiss organisations that want Swiss storage and a contract partner in Switzerland

Hostpoint is the nearest thing in Europe to GoDaddy in role: it is both a registrar, with 1,300,000 domains under management by its own count, and a host with 130 employees. Its three plans (Standard CHF 15.90, Smart CHF 17.90, Business CHF 29.90, VAT included) all include unlimited 5 GB mailboxes and phone support seven days a week, and any plan is free for 30 days.

Hostpoint AG in Rapperswil-Jona stores data in the Digital Realty data centre in Glattbrugg and has held the "swiss hosting" seal since 2020. Switzerland is outside the EU, and Hostpoint's entry price is the highest of the ten here.

What Hostpoint does better than GoDaddy

  • Phone support runs seven days a week
  • The first 30 days cost nothing on any plan
  • The data centre and its operator are named
  • The Standard plan includes 100 GB and 10 domains

Where Hostpoint is a step down from GoDaddy

  • It is outside the EU, which an EU-only clause will not accept
  • The entry price is the highest on this page

Standout against GoDaddy. It combines a domain registry business of GoDaddy's kind with Swiss data storage and weekend phone support.

hosttech

A Swiss alternative that starts at a lower price than Hostpoint

Richterswil, SwitzerlandSmart Deal from CHF 6.90, Hosting L CHF 9.90 (promotion until 31 October 2026, regular CHF 12.90), Hosting XL CHF 19.90 and Hosting unlimited CHF 29.90 per month; the pages read do not state whether VAT is included#9 in Web Hosting

Best for: Swiss site owners who want a Swiss server location at a smaller price

hosttech from Richterswil on Lake Zurich lists Smart Deal from CHF 6.90 per month, Hosting L at CHF 9.90 (a promotion until 31 October 2026, regular CHF 12.90), Hosting XL at CHF 19.90 and Hosting unlimited at CHF 29.90, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. It states a Swiss server location and ISO 27001 certified data centres.

The two founders still lead the company as CEO and CTO. The pages we read do not say whether the prices include VAT or what the minimum term is, and a Berlin site appears among its five data centres.

What hosttech does better than GoDaddy

  • The entry price is lower than Hostpoint's
  • Founders lead the company and are named
  • A 30-day money-back guarantee is stated

Where hosttech is a step down from GoDaddy

  • VAT basis and minimum term are not stated on the pages we read
  • It is outside the EU

Standout against GoDaddy. It names its two founders and its Nottwil data centre and starts Swiss hosting at CHF 6.90.

Krystal

An English-language UK host with monthly billing and the longest refund window

London, United KingdomAmethyst GBP 7, Ruby GBP 11, Emerald GBP 19, Sapphire GBP 37, Diamond GBP 67 and Tanzanite GBP 97 per month on monthly billing, VAT included; annual plans save 16% and two-year plans 25%#6 in Web Hosting

Best for: UK and English-speaking buyers who want cPanel, B Corp status and a 60-day refund

For GoDaddy customers who work in English, Krystal is the most direct language match on this page. Its six cPanel plans with NVMe storage run from Amethyst at GBP 7 per month (one site, 10 GB) to Tanzanite at GBP 97, VAT included on monthly billing, with 16% off for annual and 25% off for two-year billing.

Krystal Hosting Ltd in London lists ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and B Corp certification since 2023. Its data centre list includes two sites in the United States, and its data processing agreement allows processing outside the UK or EEA, so it is the least clear-cut on location.

What Krystal does better than GoDaddy

  • The refund window is 60 days, domain costs excluded
  • Monthly billing is available
  • Each data centre operator is named

Where Krystal is a step down from GoDaddy

  • US data centres are listed among its sites
  • The DPA permits processing outside the UK or EEA
  • Amethyst covers only one site

Standout against GoDaddy. It offers a 60-day refund and English-language cPanel hosting from a Certified B Corp.

mittwald

A professional-grade host for agencies, not a cheap domain shop

Espelkamp, GermanyWebhosting S EUR 13, M EUR 19 and L EUR 36 per month, excluding VAT, with a one-month contract term and no setup fee#1 in Web Hosting

Best for: Agencies and freelancers who manage client sites and want a monthly term

mittwald does not try to be a one-stop shop with a domain bundle. Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG in Espelkamp sells Webhosting S, M and L at EUR 13, 19 and 36 per month excluding VAT, sized in vCPU and RAM, on a one-month term with no setup fee. Its own data centre runs on renewable electricity and it states ISO 27001 certification.

Against GoDaddy it is the pick for people who have outgrown a hosting-plus-builder account and host client work. A single private site will pay noticeably more here than at ALL-INKL.COM or netcup.

What mittwald does better than GoDaddy

  • Resources are sized in vCPU and RAM for client projects
  • The one-month term and ISO 27001 are stated

Where mittwald is a step down from GoDaddy

  • Entry price is the highest of the euro-priced hosts here

Standout against GoDaddy. It runs entirely in its own data centre in Germany on a one-month contract.

Mythic Beasts

A founder-owned UK host for technical users who want shell access

Cambridge, United KingdomWeb hosting from GBP 2.50 per month (Web 25, 5 GB) through GBP 10 (Web 100, 40 GB) to GBP 40 (Web 400, 400 GB), excluding VAT#11 in Web Hosting

Best for: Developers who want UK hosting with unlimited domains and mailboxes

Mythic Beasts, a Cambridge company registered at Companies House since 2000, sells web and email hosting from GBP 2.50 per month (Web 25, 5 GB) to GBP 40 (Web 400), excluding VAT. Every plan includes unlimited domains and mailboxes, and shell access is part of the product, which suits someone leaving GoDaddy because its panel feels limiting.

The company says more than 90% of its shares are held by its founders, and all hosting servers are in UK data centres. No trial or refund period was stated on the pages we read, and a separate network runs from a US data centre in Fremont.

What Mythic Beasts does better than GoDaddy

  • Unlimited domains and mailboxes are standard
  • Shell access is part of the plan

Where Mythic Beasts is a step down from GoDaddy

  • Prices are in pounds sterling, excluding VAT
  • No trial or refund period is stated

Standout against GoDaddy. It combines founder ownership with UK-hosted servers and shell access.

What actually breaks when you switch

Expect three separate jobs, each with its own deadline. The domain needs an unlock and an authorisation code; the mailboxes need a copy over IMAP and a changed MX record; the site needs files and a database exported.

Do them in that order of risk, mail first with both systems running side by side, because a gap in mail is the one outage customers notice. GoDaddy renewals can fall on different dates for each product, so cancel after the new setup has run a full billing cycle, not before.

Retraining is smaller than people fear when the destination is cPanel, as at o2switch and Krystal, and larger at the German hosts whose panels and pages are in German. A site built in the GoDaddy builder cannot be exported as files, so budget real time to rebuild it. Look at renewal terms on both sides: the European plans mentioned here print theirs, and the GoDaddy price we could not read, so compare against the invoice you actually hold.

Can I keep my GoDaddy domain and only move the hosting?

Yes. Registration and hosting are separate services, so you can point the domain at a European host's name servers or records while GoDaddy remains the registrar. That is the lowest-risk first step, and it suits a site whose renewal is still months away. The cost is that the invoice for the domain, and the account that can reset its DNS, stay with a US company.

Most people move the domain a second time, once the new host has run for a month without trouble. Ask the receiving host (ALL-INKL.COM, manitu, o2switch and Hostpoint all bundle or sell domains) what its transfer procedure needs before you unlock anything at GoDaddy.

Which European host replaces GoDaddy's website builder?

None of the ten hosts on this page ships a one-for-one copy of GoDaddy's builder. What they provide is WordPress: manitu has one-click WordPress, netcup lists a WordPress toolkit from Webhosting 2000 upward, Hostpoint includes a WordPress AI assistant in its Smart and Business plans, and cPanel at o2switch and Krystal installs it. WordPress is a different tool with a learning curve of its own.

If you want drag-and-drop editing without maintaining a CMS, a European host is the wrong layer to look at. Compare website-builder tools in the EP directory instead, and use one of these hosts only for the domain and mail.

Which one to pick

If you want the GoDaddy shape, domain plus hosting plus mailboxes on one invoice, start with ALL-INKL.COM or manitu in Germany, or o2switch in France for an unlimited account. Choose Simply.com when renewal pricing is the complaint, and netcup when the monthly price must be as low as possible and a 12-month term is acceptable.

Choose Hostpoint or hosttech if your contract partner has to be Swiss, Krystal or Mythic Beasts for English-language UK hosting, and mittwald when you host client sites rather than your own. Stay with GoDaddy if the builder, store and payment products are what your business actually uses: no host here replaces those, and a rebuild is a cost you pay once per site.

Frequently Asked Questions

For the GoDaddy mix of domain, hosting and mailboxes, ALL-INKL.COM is the closest European fit: three to twenty domains are included in plans from EUR 4.95 per month including VAT, with no minimum term. Simply.com suits a small site that wants a cheap first year and an EU data statement, manitu bundles a free domain with unlimited mailboxes, and o2switch offers an unlimited cPanel account hosted in France.

Hostpoint and hosttech in Switzerland and Krystal and Mythic Beasts in the United Kingdom sit outside the EU but are covered by an EU adequacy decision, and none of them has a US parent on the pages we read. If a customer contract demands an EU-established processor, choose among ALL-INKL.COM, Simply.com, manitu, o2switch, netcup or mittwald instead.

GoDaddy Inc. is a US company listed on the NYSE, so US law can reach it wherever its servers stand, which is the CLOUD Act argument that applies to any US provider. A European host with its own data centre, such as mittwald in Espelkamp or manitu in St. Wendel, avoids that route. We could not read GoDaddy's privacy policy automatically, so check where your own data is processed before deciding.

The transfer itself is rarely the cost. Plan for a domain registration at the new registrar, the time to rebuild a builder-made site, and possibly a new mailbox setup. Hosting prices published by the ten hosts here start at EUR 2.69 per month including VAT at netcup, with ALL-INKL.COM at EUR 4.95, and several offer a free first month or a 30-day guarantee that lets you test before you move.

Create the mailboxes at the new host first, copy the old mail over IMAP, then change the MX records and keep the old account running for a few days. Hostpoint and manitu list unlimited mailboxes, and ALL-INKL.COM and o2switch ship standard mail with their plans. Check plan limits for mailbox size before you start.
