Detailed Review

TWIPLA is the broadest product in this category that still keeps the whole chain inside Europe.

Visitor Analytics GmbH sells it from Ottobrunn, just outside Munich, and has been trading since 2015; the About page describes the company as independently owned and bootstrapped. One subscription covers visitor statistics, session recordings, heatmaps and on-site polls — the combination most sites otherwise assemble from Google Analytics and Hotjar. Tracking is cookieless, so the banner, and the visitors who decline it, never enter the numbers.

The infrastructure is named rather than implied, which is why TWIPLA is placed above Wide Angle Analytics here. The database runs at Hetzner in Germany.

The CDN nodes that take the first request sit at OVH in France and Hostinger in Lithuania and hold data for under a second before passing it on, and email runs through ALL-INKL.COM in Germany. Every sub-processor in the data processing agreement is European, with no American cloud anywhere in the chain — the distinction that separates a German company on German hardware from a German company renting from a US hyperscaler.

Pricing is published to the cent: free to start, then $2.99 a month for Starter, $12.99 for Basic, $24.99 for Advanced, $39.99 for Pro and from $77.99 for Enterprise, with 20% off annual billing and VAT added.

Two things are missing and both matter. TWIPLA publishes no independent certification such as ISO 27001, and the product is not open source, so its privacy design is read in a policy rather than in code.

The imprint also lists sister entities, among them Visitor Analytics LLC in Sheridan, Wyoming; the German GmbH is the controller and has existed since 2015, but the shareholder list is not free to inspect, so the group structure cannot be confirmed either way.

What TWIPLA does well

  • Statistics, session recordings, heatmaps and polls in one subscription
  • Database at Hetzner in Germany, with every sub-processor European
  • CDN nodes at OVH in France and Hostinger in Lithuania rather than a US cloud
  • Full price list published, from a free plan to $77.99/month Enterprise
  • German GmbH trading since 2015, independently owned by its own account

Where TWIPLA falls short

  • No independent certification such as ISO 27001 published
  • Not open source, so the privacy design is a policy rather than code
  • Prices in US dollars and excluding VAT
  • A sister company in Wyoming sits in the imprint, and the shareholder list is not public

Standout feature. The sub-processor list reads Hetzner, OVH, Hostinger and ALL-INKL — a German vendor that is also on European hardware end to end.
