Full review
Picnic describes itself as a supermarket on wheels. The privacy statement names Picnic Technologies B.V. as responsible for personal data, and the contact block lists Van Marwijk Kooystraat 15, 1114 AG Amsterdam, KvK 62812696, BTW NL854967333B01.
Customers order in the app; the homepage promises low prices, free delivery and fresh produce. We read the Dutch pages on 4 November 2026.
Group structure
The privacy statement lists Dutch companies including Picnic Fulfillment B.V., Picnic Hubs B.V., Picnic Services B.V. and Picnic International B.V. German customers are served through Picnic GmbH and French customers through Picnic SA.
The pages we read do not name the shareholders of the group.
Not a restaurant marketplace
Picnic covers groceries and a ready-meal line called Picnic Kookt, prepared in a small kitchen in Amsterdam. It does not list third-party restaurants.
For DoorDash users who mainly order groceries this is a close fit; for restaurant orders it is not.
Data handling
Section 7 of the privacy statement covers when data may be used outside Europe and how it is protected. We did not read the detail of that section.
The statement also covers cookies and similar techniques and lists rights of data subjects.
Where it falls short
No restaurant ordering. Delivery areas and slots are not given on the pages we read. Shareholders are not named. Pages are in Dutch.
Who Picnic fits
Households in the Netherlands, Germany or France that shop weekly online. For restaurants use Thuisbezorgd.
