Detailed Review
Factbird began as a project by Emendo Consulting Group for the Danish beverage company Royal Unibrew, after existing tracking tools proved too costly and complex. It was called Blackbird until a 2023 rebrand to Factbird.
The suite is split into three modules that can be bought separately: Production Insights, Connected Operations and Knowledge Excellence.
Modules and Pricing
Production Insights covers data capture, OEE, downtime and shift management. Connected Operations adds digital guidance, quality and maintenance, and Knowledge Excellence covers training and skills. The pricing page lists a per-line price for the first two and a per-site price for the third, plus a base fee and a 2% support fee.
The prices appear in US dollars in the page text, with a currency selector shown beside them, so check the euro amount before budgeting.
Contracting Entity
The End User License Agreement dated 29 January 2026 names FACTBIRD ApS, Copenhagen, as the party. The About page also lists an office in the US, so confirm which entity signs your order.
Hosting
Factbird states it hosts on AWS and that enterprises can choose a private cloud managed for them. The region is not named on the pages checked, which matters for strict data residency requirements.
Limitations to Consider
Factbird is an OEE and operations tool rather than a full MES with scheduling or genealogy. Prices are shown in US dollars, hosting runs on AWS with the region not stated, and the company also has a US office. Single-site pricing adds a base fee on top of per-line costs.
Who Should Use Factbird
Mid-sized manufacturers that want OEE analytics, digital checklists and skills tracking from a Danish contracting entity.
