Our review
Portal United GmbH publishes its imprint for Blauarbeit: Friedrichstrasse 10, 96047 Bamberg, with the registered seat at Pretzfelder Strasse 7-11, 90425 Nuremberg, commercial register HRB 44549 at Amtsgericht Nuremberg. The managing director is named as Alexander Oberst.
The home page promises several quotes from checked craftsmen in your region, free and non-binding. It states 150,000+ craftsmen, 2 million+ requests and an average response time of 48 hours.
How Blauarbeit works
Blauarbeit describes three steps. You enter your job, receive craftsman quotes within a few days, and pick the tradesperson after clarifying details.
The site also runs a Branchenbuch directory and a Ratgeber, with popular jobs such as bathroom renovation, roofing, flooring and electrical work.
Hosting and data handling
The home page states certified providers and hosting in Germany. The imprint names Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL as the hosting provider, and the privacy page mentions Cookiebot, WhatsApp, Google Sign-In and Meta tools.
The contracting entity is German, but several third-party tools belong to US groups, which is worth reading before you consent.
Blauarbeit as a European alternative to Thumbtack
Blauarbeit suits Germans who want to compare tenders instead of paying for a single lead. Customers pay nothing per the home page, and tradespeople compete with offers.
The pages we read do not show how tradespeople are charged.
Where it falls short
Blauarbeit covers craftsmen and trades rather than the full range of errands Thumbtack lists, and the pages we read are German only. How tradespeople pay is not shown. The home page counts, such as 150,000+ craftsmen, are the site's own claims. Compare with Trustoo for a Dutch-led option in several countries.
Is Blauarbeit right for you?
