European Wedding Planning Tools

Wedding planning software covers checklists, budgets, guest lists, RSVP pages and supplier search for engaged couples and for professional planners. Couples hand over names, dates, dietary needs and sometimes payment details, so the legal entity and the place of processing matter. The European tools below are run from the UK, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany and Ireland.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect the order tools appear in. It never buys a listing: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects whether a tool is listed. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • Bridebook ranks first in this directory because it is the only listed tool that puts a checklist, budget, guest list and venue search into one account that its about page calls completely free for couples.
  • Three tools handle the website and the guests: GettingMarried charges GBP 45 or GBP 89 for its paid plans, Un Grand Jour takes 3% + 1 EUR on cash gifts, and LumiWed is free to start but shows a waitlist instead of a price.
  • Wedinest is the one tool in this category written for professionals, with plan prices of 35, 49 and 79 EUR per month and a client portal for each wedding.
  • Weddix, WeddyPlace and Hochzeitsportal24 serve German couples, and Weddingsonline serves Irish couples, but none of the four describes a checklist or budget tool on the pages we read.
  • Specially Love, Hochzeitsportal24 and LumiWed name a US provider on their own pages, Netlify, Stripe and Clerk, while most other tools on this list do not state where their data sits at all.

European wedding planning software is the set of online tools, from checklists and guest lists to wedding websites, RSVP forms and vendor directories, that couples and planners use to organise a wedding, run by a company that is registered in Europe or the United Kingdom. The European part matters because a guest list holds names, addresses, dietary needs and family relationships, and the operator behind it decides who can read that list and which court hears a complaint.

#1 Bridebook

London, United Kingdom Described as completely free for couples on the about page; how Bridebook earns is not shown on the pages we read Demo on request

Best for: UK and Irish couples who want one free account for planning and supplier search

  • Operating company. Bridebook Limited
  • Jurisdiction. United Kingdom (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. not stated on the pages we read; the privacy notice mentions analytics providers such as Google with servers outside the EU
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Knot

Bridebook is the planning platform of Bridebook Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 09190872 with an office in London. The about page says a couple can book a venue, build a supplier team, track a budget and manage the guest list in one place, and calls this completely free. A wedding website and advice articles sit in the same account.

The home page asks for a country first, and the list includes Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain and the Netherlands, so venue search reaches beyond Britain. Two points need a question to the company: the pages we read do not say where planner data is stored or how Bridebook earns, and the privacy notice names analytics and advertising partners outside the EU. English law applies to the contract.

What Bridebook does well

  • Named UK company with number, VAT and address in the terms
  • Checklist, budget and guest list in one free account
  • Venue and supplier search with a country selector covering many European countries
  • Wedding website offered alongside the tools
  • Advice articles on the main wedding topics

Where Bridebook falls short

  • Data location not stated on the pages we read
  • Privacy notice mentions analytics and advertising partners outside the EU
  • UK company, so English law applies
  • No gift registry described on the pages we read

Standout feature. Bridebook is the only tool here that gives checklist, budget, guest list and venue search to couples without a stated price.

#2 GettingMarried

  • Replaces. The Knot, Zola

GettingMarried is the wedding website service of The Gather Group Limited in Bath, registered in England and Wales under number 06997585. It builds a site, a guest list and an RSVP form, and the navigation adds designs, a cash gift list and advice. English courts have exclusive jurisdiction under its terms.

The free plan stops at 75 guests. GM Essentials at GBP 45 covers 120 guests and adds the cash gift list, premium themes and a QR code, while GM Plus at GBP 89 removes the guest limit and adds a table planner, menu manager and email stationery. The pricing page carries the heading 2024. A payment partner sits behind the gift list, and its terms were not read.

What GettingMarried does well

  • Named UK company with number, VAT number and address
  • Free plan with website, guest list and RSVP
  • Prices of GBP 45 and GBP 89 shown on the page
  • Table planner and menu manager in the top plan
  • Fee-free cash gift list from the GBP 45 plan

Where GettingMarried falls short

  • Pricing page is headed 2024

  • Data location not stated

Standout feature. GettingMarried is the only tool here that includes a menu manager and table planner in its top website plan.

#3 Un Grand Jour

Bondues, France Free to create; financed by a 3% + 1 EUR commission on the cash fund (home page); separate Tarifs page not read Demo on request

Best for: French and francophone couples who want a gift list with cash fund and RSVP

It offers a wedding website, a gift list with cash fund, an RSVP form and a QR code generator. The same service also exists for births and birthdays. Its pages state a registration as crowdfunding intermediary with ORIAS.

The home page spells out the price: everything is free except a commission of 3% + 1 EUR on the cash fund, and the couple can withdraw the money at any moment. RSVP can be asked per event and can request an address. Terms are in French, no checklist or budget tool appears on the pages we read, and the separate pricing page was not read.

What Un Grand Jour does well

  • Named French SAS with SIRET and address

Best for: Couples with guests in several languages who want a personal RSVP link per guest

LumiWed publishes its imprint with the registered name LumiWed, an address in Geleen, a KVK number and a Dutch VAT number, and the terms apply Dutch law. The product is a wedding website and RSVP dashboard. Each guest gets a personal link by WhatsApp, email or QR code and replies without an account, in any of 24 site languages.

The dashboard records attendance, dietary preferences, plus-ones and family groups on one link, and a gift list lets guests reserve items or scan a QR code for euro transfers. The service is young: the imprint was updated in late October 2026, the home page counts 450+ couples, and the pricing page shows a waitlist and no price. Clerk handles sign-in and Stripe handles payments.

What LumiWed does well

  • Dutch KVK and VAT numbers published in the imprint
  • 24 site languages published at once
  • Personal guest links without passwords or apps
  • Dietary and plus-one tracking in the RSVP
  • Gift list with euro QR payment

Where LumiWed falls short

  • Pricing page shows a waitlist and no price

  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. The Knot, HoneyBook

Wedinest is a wedding management platform for planners, owned by Alberto Belloso Martín in Barcelona according to its legal notice. A planner works in one account and invites each couple as a client. Guests, seating plan, budget, suppliers, chat, tasks, calendar, day timeline and a web invitation live in the same portal, with a chat and files per event.

The pricing page shows early-bird prices of 35, 49 and 79 EUR per month, guaranteed for 24 months, with annual billing 10% lower and a custom Studio plan. Plan limits include 6 or 30 active weddings and two to five user accounts, but our extract did not map each limit to a plan reliably. • Written for planners, with a shared couple portal
  • Prices published in euro
  • Seating plan, budget, suppliers and timeline included
  • Spanish and EU law stated in the legal notice
  • Interface in Spanish and English

Where Wedinest falls short

  • Owner is an individual in Barcelona, no company number read

The home page claims more than 3,000 vendors and 50,000 weddings planned, both the company's own figures. The planner is marked new and has its own app, but the pages we read do not describe its checklist, budget or guest list. The privacy policy is from October 2022, names CleverPush for push notifications, and gives a different Berlin address than the imprint.

  • Vendor requests without obligation
  • Advice section in German

Where WeddyPlace falls short

  • Planner functions not described on the pages we read

Which European wedding planning tool should a couple pick first?

Start from the job you want done, because the tools in this category split it. Bridebook and WeddingPlanner.co.uk give a UK couple a checklist, budget and guest list. GettingMarried, Un Grand Jour and LumiWed build the wedding website and collect replies. Weddix, WeddyPlace, Hochzeitsportal24 and Weddingsonline help you find venues and vendors.

Most couples end up with two accounts. A common pairing is Bridebook for planning and one website tool for replies and gifts. Wedinest sits outside that pattern, since it is sold to planners who run weddings for clients.

Check the language before anything else. Weddix, WeddyPlace and Hochzeitsportal24 are German only, Specially Love is Spanish, and Un Grand Jour offers five interface languages.

What does wedding planning software cost in Europe?

Many of these tools are free for couples. Bridebook and WeddingPlanner.co.uk describe their planning tools as free, and Hochzeitsportal24 gives couples a free account. Their income comes from suppliers: WeddingPlanner.co.uk lists supplier fees and booking fees in its terms, while Bridebook does not show how it earns on the pages we read.

Paid plans are rare. GettingMarried is free up to 75 guests, then GBP 45 up to 120 guests and GBP 89 for unlimited guests, though its pricing page is headed 2024. Wedinest, for planners, lists 35, 49 and 79 EUR per month with annual billing 10% lower.

The third model is a commission. Un Grand Jour is free to create and keeps 3% + 1 EUR of the cash fund. On a 3,000 EUR fund that is 90 EUR plus the fixed euro per contribution, so count the guests who will pay.

Where is wedding guest data stored, and who can read it?

Most of the eleven tools do not say where their servers are. Only two name an outside host: the Specially Love terms say invitations are hosted by Netlify, and the Hochzeitsportal24 terms route vendor payments through Stripe in San Francisco. LumiWed uses Clerk for sign-in and Stripe for payments.

The company behind the tool matters more than the data centre. Un Grand Jour is a French SAS with a SIRET number, Weddix and Hochzeitsportal24 are German GmbHs with register numbers, and LumiWed gives Dutch KVK and VAT numbers. Each of those is reachable by a European regulator.

Four tools are based in the United Kingdom. Bridebook, GettingMarried and WeddingPlanner.co.uk operate under English law, and the UK holds an EU adequacy decision, but it sits outside the EEA. Bridebook's privacy notice also names analytics and advertising partners outside the EU.

How do you switch from The Knot or Zola to a European wedding tool?

Begin with the guest list. Export or copy names, addresses, relationships and meal choices into a spreadsheet, then import them into GettingMarried, LumiWed or Un Grand Jour. A personal-link tool like LumiWed works best with one row per guest or family.

The registry is the awkward part. The European tools here favour cash: Un Grand Jour has a cash fund, GettingMarried a fee-free cash gift list from its GBP 45 plan, and LumiWed a reserve-an-item list with euro QR payments. None describes a US-style store registry on the pages we read, so tell your relatives early.

Vendor conversations stay behind. Save quotes and messages before you close an account, and rebuild the shortlist in Weddingsonline, WeddyPlace or Bridebook.

When is it not worth switching away from a US wedding platform?

Keep the US platform if your wedding is in the United States, because every European directory in this category covers its own country. Weddingsonline lists only Irish venues, WeddyPlace and Hochzeitsportal24 German ones, and WeddingPlanner.co.uk British ones.

It also may not be worth moving a plan that is nearly finished. Re-entering 150 guests costs an evening and a new set of reply links costs trust. A new couple starting from zero loses nothing by choosing a European account.

Which wedding tools suit guests who speak different languages?

LumiWed lists 24 site languages and publishes them together, and each guest replies from a personal link in their own language without an account. Un Grand Jour offers French, English, German, Spanish and Italian. Wedinest runs in Spanish and English.

The rest are single-language. Bridebook, GettingMarried and WeddingPlanner.co.uk use English, Weddix, WeddyPlace and Hochzeitsportal24 use German, and Specially Love uses Spanish. Bridebook's venue search still covers Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain and the Netherlands through its country selector.

How we selected and ranked these 11 tools

Every tool on this page is in the European Purpose directory, which means the operating company is established in Europe and we have verified that from the company register or the vendor's own legal notice rather than from a marketing page. Tools headquartered outside Europe are not eligible, however good they are.

  1. Feature verification (weight: 40%). We check each capability against the vendor's own documentation and product pages, and record what the tool does rather than what the category is assumed to include.
  2. Ease of adoption (weight: 30%). Integrations, published API access, trial availability and how much configuration stands between signing and a usable result.
  3. Value and transparency (weight: 30%). Published pricing counts in a vendor's favour; quote-only pricing is recorded as quote-only rather than estimated. We weigh what a buyer gets for the entry price, not the headline feature count.
  4. Editorial review. Every page is researched and drafted with AI assistance, and the compliance and pricing claims are checked against the vendor's documentation before it is published under the founder's editorial responsibility. The three weights above decide the order; a position is a ranking against the other European tools in this category, not an absolute score.

Vendor-reported outcomes — ROI figures, margin uplift, time saved — are labelled as vendor claims wherever they appear on this page. We have not audited them, and neither has anyone else who quotes them. Read our full editorial process for how pages are re-verified.

Frequently asked questions

By one criterion, free planning tools in one account, Bridebook of London ranks first here. For a wedding website with RSVP and a cash gift list, GettingMarried or Un Grand Jour fits better. LumiWed suits multilingual guests, Wedinest suits professional planners, and WeddyPlace or Weddingsonline suit vendor search in Germany and Ireland.

Yes. Bridebook calls its planning tools completely free for couples, and WeddingPlanner.co.uk describes its tools as free. GettingMarried has a free plan up to 75 guests, Un Grand Jour is free apart from its cash fund commission, and Hochzeitsportal24 offers a free couple account.

Un Grand Jour runs a cash fund for a commission of 3% + 1 EUR. GettingMarried includes a cash gift list described as fee-free from its GBP 45 plan. LumiWed lets guests reserve items and adds a QR code for euro transfers.

Wedinest from Barcelona is the one on this list. A planner gets one account, gives each couple client access and shares chat, files, tasks and a timeline per event. Its prices are 35, 49 and 79 EUR per month, with a Studio plan on request.

Usually the pages do not say. Most tools here state no data location, so ask the vendor. Specially Love names Netlify as host, Hochzeitsportal24 names Stripe for vendor payments, and LumiWed uses Clerk and Stripe. The operator's country is stated in all eleven.

Three. WeddyPlace of Berlin pairs a vendor directory with a planner app, weddix of Haar near Munich combines guide, directory and shop, and Hochzeitsportal24 compares venues and keeps a shared shortlist. All three are German only.
