European Managed WordPress Hosting

Managed WordPress hosting runs your site on a platform tuned for WordPress, with updates, backups, staging and support from people who know the software. A European provider keeps the contract under European law, bills in euros, francs or pounds, and in several cases states where the servers sit. These ten vendors replace US-run services such as Kinsta.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect the order tools appear in. It never buys a listing: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects whether a tool is listed. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • Raidboxes ranks first on this page because it is a WordPress-only host from Münster with staging and daily backups on every plan and a named Equinix data center in Düsseldorf.
  • Servebolt of Norway is the only host listed that prices on dynamic requests with no PHP worker limits, at €99 a month and up.
  • Seravo of Finland is the host listed with a free malware clean-up promise and a 99.9% availability SLA written into its offer.
  • SiteGround, 20i and Krystal each list data centres outside Europe next to European ones, so their buyers need to confirm the site in writing.
  • Kinsta Inc., the US incumbent, contracts under Delaware law with arbitration in Wilmington, which is the main reason European buyers shortlist these ten.

European managed WordPress hosting is a server platform tuned for one application, with updates, backups, staging copies and WordPress-literate support included, sold by a company established in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland so that the hosting contract, the invoice and the data processing agreement sit under European law instead of a US state's.

Best for: Agencies and small shops that want WordPress-only hosting, with chat support from 8:00 to 22:00 every day

  • Operating company. Raidboxes GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Where the data sits. Germany (Equinix, Düsseldorf)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Kinsta, WP Engine

Raidboxes is a managed host that sells WordPress and nothing else, and it holds first place because a plan answers most of the questions a buyer asks.

Each site runs in an isolated virtual environment with its own CPU, RAM and SSD, except on Mini, where the vendor says resources are shared. Staging, server-side caching and daily backups are listed on every plan, backups are kept from 7 to 30 days, and plugin and theme updates run automatically. Prices range from €18 for Mini to €190 for Business before VAT.

Raidboxes GmbH is registered in Münster under HRB 16184, and the security page names an Equinix data center in Düsseldorf and lists ISO 27001.

The privacy policy lists Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL of Luxembourg as a service provider under EU standard contractual clauses, which a data protection officer should note. The vendor shows a 4.60 rating from 239 reviews on its own site; that figure is the vendor's presentation, not an independent measure. Support is a live chat daily until 22:00, not around the clock.

What Raidboxes does well

  • Equinix data center in Düsseldorf, with ISO 27001 listed
  • Staging and daily backups included on every plan
  • Free demo migration, and a 14-day trial that asks for no payment details
  • Dedicated CPU cores start with the Pro XL plan
  • Reseller and bulk tiers for agencies

Where Raidboxes falls short

  • Each plan covers one WordPress installation
  • Live chat runs only from 8:00 to 22:00
  • Domains and email cost extra
  • The Mini plan does not reserve resources exclusively

Standout feature. Raidboxes pairs isolated per-site resources with a published discount ladder for agencies: 20% off at 5 sites, 35% at 10 and 40% at 20.

#2 Servebolt

Norway (city not stated on the pages checked), Norway Three self-serve plans: Pro from €99, Business from €349 and Scale from €699 a month, plus an Enterprise tier on request Demo on request

Best for: WordPress and WooCommerce sites with traffic peaks, where headroom matters more than the entry price

  • Operating company. Servebolt AS
  • Jurisdiction. EEA, not EU (Norway)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages checked
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Kinsta, WP Engine

Servebolt is a Norwegian host that moves the usual limit. Instead of capping PHP workers, its WordPress plans promise none and set the ceiling on dynamic requests per month: 500,000 on Pro, 1,000,000 on Business and 3,000,000 on Scale. RAM is shown as unlimited on all three self-serve plans, storage runs from 10 GB to 100 GB, and one plan can carry between 5 and 50 live sites. Data transfer is described as unmetered.

Servebolt AS is the party named in the terms of service, which are governed by Norwegian law with the Oslo courts, so the contract sits in an EEA state rather than the EU.

The pages checked do not name a data center, and the privacy policy names Cloudflare Inc. as a CDN sub-processor under a data processing addendum. The trial lasts three days and the terms exclude trials from the money-back guarantee, so test early. A migration is described as specialist-led, with an audit and staging.

What Servebolt does well

  • No PHP worker limits are stated on the plans
  • RAM is shown as unlimited on all three self-serve plans
  • A single plan can carry up to 50 live sites
  • Migration led by specialists, with staging
  • Norwegian law governs the contract, with Oslo courts

Where Servebolt falls short

  • Plans start at €99 a month
  • The data center location is not named on the pages we checked
  • A three-day trial that falls outside the money-back guarantee
  • Monthly caps on dynamic requests still apply

Standout feature. Servebolt caps dynamic requests per month and states no PHP worker limit, a different bottleneck from the visit or worker limits of its competitors.

#3 mittwald

Espelkamp, Germany Founded 2003 Webhosting in sizes S, M and L at EUR 13, 19 and 36 a month excl. VAT; one-month term, no setup fee Demo on request

Best for: Agencies and freelancers that want a single German operator, ISO 27001 and a short contract term

  • Operating company. Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Where the data sits. Germany, in the company's own data centre, which mittwald states is powered entirely by renewable electricity
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. GoDaddy, Bluehost, WP Engine

mittwald is a German host from Espelkamp that runs its own data centre, built on the same site in 2011, and sells it on a one-month term with no setup fee.

Its web hosting comes in three sizes: Webhosting S with 1 vCPU, 1 GiB RAM and 20 GiB at EUR 13, M with 1 vCPU, 2 GiB and 40 GiB at EUR 19, and L with 2 vCPU, 4 GiB and 60 GiB at EUR 36, all before VAT. mittwald states 99.99% uptime for all three and ISO 27001 certification.

The company behind it is Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG, registered at the Amtsgericht Bad Oeynhausen under HRA 6640, and it was founded in 2003 by Robert Meyer, who leads it with Florian Jürgens. mittwald says its data centre runs entirely on renewable electricity, and the category page lists WP-CLI and free development projects for WordPress. Free testing is advertised, but its length is not stated, and the managed WordPress page was readable only in German.

What mittwald does well

  • Hosting runs in a data centre mittwald built at Espelkamp in 2011
  • ISO 27001 certification is stated by mittwald
  • One-month term and no setup fee
  • Founder and both managers are named, and no outside parent group is described
  • The vendor states 100% renewable electricity for the data centre

Where mittwald falls short

  • EUR 13 a month before VAT is the highest entry price among the euro-priced web hosts reviewed on this site
  • Prices are quoted without VAT, so consumer invoices are higher
  • The length of the free test is not stated
  • Webhosting S includes 20 GiB, below the entry plans of ALL-INKL.COM and netcup

Standout feature. mittwald combines a data centre it built itself, an owner-led company with named leaders and a one-month contract.

#4 Seravo

Tampere, Finland WP Start €25, WP Pro €40, WP Business €60 and WP Corporate €110 a month on annual billing; WP Enterprise is quoted per customer Demo on request

Best for: Business sites that want a written security guarantee and phone, chat and email support on weekdays

  • Operating company. Seravo Oy
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Finland)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages checked
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Kinsta, WP Engine

Seravo is a Finnish company that hosts WordPress only and puts its security promise in writing: it will clean a hacked site of malicious code at no charge, and the offer lists a 99.9% availability SLA.

Four plans run from WP Start at €25 to WP Corporate at €110 a month on annual billing, with one to four staging environments and storage from 10 GB to 60 GB. WP Business adds WooCommerce at 1,500,000 requests, and WP Corporate allows multisite for 10 sites.

Seravo Oy, at Hämeenkatu 16 in Tampere, has business ID FI2392019-2, and the terms fall under Finnish law with the Pirkanmaa District Court.

The terms cap SLA credits at one month's share of the fee and exclude refunds below EUR 10, and say paid fees are non-refundable. The vendor says monitoring runs 24/7, but human support covers weekdays. The about page says data centres are spread across the world, and no hosting country is stated for a plan, so ask in writing.

What Seravo does well

  • A free malicious-code clean-up promise
  • A listed availability SLA of 99.9%
  • Staging environments are part of every plan
  • Support by phone, chat and email
  • The vendor states that its servers run on renewable energy

Where Seravo falls short

  • The hosting country is not named on the pages we checked
  • Entry plans allow only 150,000 HTTP requests
  • Terms state that paid fees are non-refundable
  • Support is staffed on weekdays only

Standout feature. Seravo is the host listed that puts a free malware clean-up and an availability SLA with defined credits into the terms of a WordPress plan.

#5 Krystal

London, United Kingdom Founded 2002 Managed WordPress at GBP 15, 35 and 50 a month excl. VAT; the separate cPanel shared hosting range runs from GBP 7 to GBP 97 a month with VAT, and annual plans save 16% and two-year plans 25% Demo on request

Best for: UK and Irish organisations that want sustainability credentials and a 60-day refund window

  • Operating company. Krystal Hosting Ltd
  • Jurisdiction. United Kingdom (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. Five listed sites: Netwise East and Telehouse North in London, Amsterdam, New Jersey and Phoenix; the pages read do not match a plan to a site
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. GoDaddy, Bluehost

Krystal is an independent British host in London that sells managed WordPress on an all-NVMe platform, next to a cPanel shared hosting range with gemstone plan names. Managed WordPress runs from GBP 15 to GBP 50 a month before VAT, with two staging sites per live site, LiteSpeed caching and Redis on the higher plans, and free migrations for the first three sites. UK-based support is reachable by ticket, live chat and phone.

Krystal Hosting Ltd, company number 07571790, was founded in 2002 and is registered in England and Wales at 124 City Road, London. It lists ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus, holds Certified B Corp status since 2023, and says its power is matched with renewable energy.

The listed sites are Netwise East and Telehouse North in the UK, Iron Mountain in Amsterdam, and Iron Mountain in New Jersey and Phoenix. Its data processing agreement allows processing outside the UK or EEA, and the pages do not say which site a plan uses.

What Krystal does well

  • A 60-day money-back guarantee, which excludes domain costs
  • Certified B Corp since 2023
  • ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus are listed
  • Monthly billing, with 16% and 25% off for longer terms
  • Every data centre operator and its energy source are named

Where Krystal falls short

  • Two of the five listed data centres are in the United States
  • The data processing agreement permits processing outside the UK or EEA
  • The pages read do not say which data centre a plan uses
  • The shared Amethyst plan holds one site and 10 GB for GBP 7, less than comparable euro entry plans

Standout feature. Krystal is the host listed with Certified B Corp status, and it names the operator and power source of each of its five data centres.

#6 Infomaniak

Geneva, Switzerland Founded 1994 Web Hosting from CHF 10.91 and Managed Cloud Server from CHF 38.41 a month; the kSuite productivity bundle starts at CHF 5.75 a month Demo on request

Best for: Swiss, French and German-speaking teams that want hosting, mail and storage from one Swiss vendor

  • Operating company. Infomaniak Network SA
  • Jurisdiction. Switzerland (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. Switzerland (Geneva, Winterthur)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Google Workspace, Microsoft 365

Infomaniak sells WordPress hosting as part of a wider Swiss cloud. Web Hosting starts at CHF 10.91 a month and a Managed Cloud Server at CHF 38.41, the WordPress page lists a 30-day free trial and includes the Divi theme, and kSuite, the bundle of storage, mail, meetings and chat, starts at CHF 5.75. The WordPress site can therefore share an account with kDrive, kMail and kMeet instead of living on a standalone hosting contract.

Infomaniak Network SA was founded in 1994 in Geneva, and the data centres sit in Geneva and Winterthur, under Swiss law with a European adequacy decision, so the setup is outside the EEA but recognised as equivalent.

The vendor states ISO 27001 and renewable energy, and sells its products standalone or bundled. Its integration ecosystem is smaller than the big suites, and CHF pricing adds exchange-rate exposure for euro buyers. WordPress is one product on the list, not the whole company.

What Infomaniak does well

  • A complete productivity suite: storage, mail, video, chat, hosting and domains
  • Its own data centres in Geneva and Winterthur, run on renewable energy
  • ISO 27001 certification and Swiss jurisdiction
  • kDrive Solo is free at 15 GB, so the suite can be tried at no cost
  • In business since 1994, with products sold standalone or bundled

Where Infomaniak falls short

  • A smaller integration ecosystem than Google or Microsoft
  • Mobile apps are less polished than Google's
  • Pricing in Swiss francs brings exchange-rate exposure
  • Switzerland has an adequacy decision but is not part of intra-EEA processing

Standout feature. Infomaniak runs WordPress hosting inside a full suite of storage, mail, meetings and chat on its own Swiss data centres.

#7 20i

Rainworth, England, United Kingdom Four plans at £10, £20, £40 and £80 a month (Startup, Plan 1, Plan 2, Plan 3), with the first month costing £1 Demo on request

Best for: Freelancers and agencies that pay in pounds, want no contract and use staging and cloning daily

  • Operating company. 20i Limited
  • Jurisdiction. United Kingdom (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. Data centres in the UK, the USA and Asia
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Kinsta, WP Engine

20i is an English host that sells managed WordPress as an autoscaling, high-availability cloud with a global CDN, a WAF and malware scanning.

Four plans cost £10, £20, £40 and £80 a month after a £1 first month: Startup and Plan 1 cover one website, Plan 2 three and Plan 3 ten, with 10 GB to 40 GB of storage. Every plan lists staging, cloning, WP-CLI, auto core updates and a checksum report in the WordPress Manager, and the page names an AI assistant called Twentie.

20i Limited is registered in England and Wales under company number 09775671, and its terms were last updated on 3 April 2026. The page lists 24/7 premium support, on-demand migrations and no contract. The key features read UK, USA and Asia data centres without saying which one a plan uses, and the United Kingdom is outside the EU, so UK law and the UK GDPR apply to the contract. Pounds-only pricing carries exchange-rate risk for euro payers.

What 20i does well

  • Staging, cloning and WP-CLI come with every plan
  • No contract, so you can leave at any time
  • CDN, WAF and malware scanning are free
  • Every plan starts with a £1 first month
  • 24/7 support is listed

Where 20i falls short

  • Only pounds are accepted as a price list
  • The default data centre per plan is not stated
  • Entry plans include 10 GB of storage
  • Data centres are split across the UK, the USA and Asia

Standout feature. 20i lists ten websites, staging and cloning at £80 a month on a plan with no contract and a £1 first month.

#8 Savvii

Nijmegen, Netherlands No plan prices on the WordPress page checked Demo on request

Best for: Dutch agencies and shops that want certified managed hosting in Dutch-language support

  • Operating company. Savvii (KvK 58599541)
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Netherlands)
  • Where the data sits. Netherlands
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Kinsta, WP Engine

Savvii is a Dutch managed host for WordPress and WooCommerce, with offices in Hoofddorp, Nijmegen and Valkenswaard. The WordPress page states ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certification, Dutch data centres on green power, staging, daily backups and a high-availability setup with clustered servers, load balancers and several data centres. The support team is described as in-house, with more than ten years of hosting experience, and agencies are a named focus with a partner scheme.

The legal entity is given only as the trade name Savvii with KvK number 58599541, and the terms are downloadable files that we did not read. The WordPress page showed no plan prices, so budgeting needs a quote or a walk through the order flow. The site is in Dutch, and the platform also hosts Magento, Shopware and Laravel, plus VPS and dedicated servers. For a single small site, an agency-oriented provider may be more than needed.

What Savvii does well

  • Data centres in the Netherlands, run on green power
  • The vendor states ISO 27001 and ISO 9001
  • Staging and daily backups are part of the standard setup
  • Clustered servers and a multi-datacenter high-availability design
  • WooCommerce, Magento and Shopware can be hosted too

Where Savvii falls short

  • Plan prices were absent from the page we checked
  • The site and the legal documents are in Dutch
  • The full legal entity name is not shown
  • An agency focus can mean more than a single site needs

Standout feature. Savvii claims both ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 and hosts Magento, Shopware and Laravel next to WordPress from Dutch data centres.

#9 Combell

Ghent, Belgium Founded 1999 Managed WordPress Business EUR 19.99, Professional EUR 38.99 and Expert EUR 64.99 a month, against first-year prices of 7.48, 14.95 and 29.95 Demo on request

Best for: Belgian and Dutch businesses that want domains, mail and WordPress hosting on one Belgian account

  • Operating company. Combell nv
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Belgium)
  • Where the data sits. Belgium
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Kinsta, WP Engine

Combell is a Belgian host whose managed WordPress line has three plans: Business at EUR 19.99, Professional at EUR 38.99 and Expert at EUR 64.99 a month. First-year prices are much lower, at 7.48, 14.95 and 29.95. The category page lists a test environment on every plan, Varnish cache and 50 GB or more of webspace, and backups are kept for 14 to 30 days. A Butler transfer service moves an existing site over.

Combell nv has operated from Ghent since 1999 and belongs to team.blue, a Ghent-headquartered European hosting group, so the contract falls under Belgian law. Its main strength is the bundle, since domains, email and hosting come from one vendor, and an EU jurisdiction. The trade-off is that managed WordPress is one product among many, and the first-year discount ends at renewal. Budget with the regular prices, and ask which retention applies to your plan.

What Combell does well

  • A Belgian hosting company in business since 1999
  • A test environment on every plan
  • Domains, email and hosting come from a single vendor
  • Part of team.blue, a large European hosting group
  • Belgian law and EU jurisdiction

Where Combell falls short

  • Managed WordPress is one line among many products
  • First-year discounts end at the regular price
  • Backup retention is 14 to 30 days, so check the figure for your plan
  • The regular price is more than double the first-year price on all three plans

Standout feature. Combell sells managed WordPress with a test environment on every plan inside a bundle with domains and email from a team.blue company.

#10 SiteGround

Madrid, Spain StartUp, GrowBig and GoGeek at €15.99, €27.99 and €39.99 a month regular price excl. VAT; the lower promo rates need a 12-month prepayment Demo on request

Best for: Small business sites that want to choose a data center and keep a 30-day refund window

  • Operating company. SiteGround Spain S.L.
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Spain)
  • Where the data sits. Eleven data centres to choose from, among them Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, London and Eemshaven
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Kinsta, WP Engine

SiteGround offers three WordPress plans, StartUp at €15.99, GrowBig at €27.99 and GoGeek at €39.99 a month at the regular price before VAT, and its distinguishing feature is choice of location. Eleven data centres are listed: five in Europe (London, Madrid, Eemshaven, Frankfurt and Paris) next to sites in the US, Sydney and Singapore, and you can change the location later. Each plan includes a CDN, caching, email, migration and geo-distributed daily backups.

The privacy policy names SiteGround Spain S.L., registered in Madrid, as controller. The terms page could not be opened during our check, so the entity comes from the privacy policy. Promo prices of €2.99, €5.49 and €8.49 apply to a 12-month prepayment, then the plans renew at about five times as much. StartUp has one site and no staging, while GrowBig and GoGeek cover unlimited websites with staging, and GoGeek adds Git. Pick a European site yourself for residency.

What SiteGround does well

  • Five European data centres are selectable
  • A 30-day money-back period is stated
  • CDN, email and migration are free on all plans
  • Prices are in euros and exclude VAT
  • GoGeek adds staging with Git

Where SiteGround falls short

  • Renewal prices are about five times the promo prices
  • The StartUp plan has no staging
  • Some selectable data centres are outside Europe
  • The terms of service page could not be verified

Standout feature. SiteGround lets you pick from eleven data centres on four continents and move the site later, the widest selection listed on this page.

How do I choose a European managed WordPress host?

Start from the shape of your estate, not from the feature table. One business site with steady traffic suits a plan-per-site host such as Raidboxes or Seravo, where each plan is a unit you can reason about.

A freelancer with ten small client sites should compare 20i, whose Plan 3 covers ten websites at £80 a month, with Raidboxes, which sells one WordPress install per plan and rewards bulk with 20% to 40% off the Starter plan at 5 to 20 sites.

Then check the four numbers that decide whether a plan is enough: storage, how many sites it covers, the monthly allowance (visits, HTTP requests or dynamic requests, depending on the host) and how long backups are kept. Seravo's WP Start allows 150,000 HTTP requests, Servebolt's Pro plan 500,000 dynamic requests, and Raidboxes keeps backups from 7 to 30 days by plan. Those counters are not interchangeable, so put your own analytics next to each one.

Last, test on a copy. Raidboxes gives a 14-day trial without payment details, Infomaniak a 30-day free trial and Servebolt only three days, so the trial length tells you how much testing the vendor expects before you commit.

What do European managed WordPress plans really cost?

Entry prices start well below the US incumbent but do not stay there as you scale. Kinsta lists $35 a month for one site, or $30 billed annually, excluding tax. Raidboxes starts at €18 and 20i at £10, Seravo at €25 and Combell at EUR 19.99, while mittwald starts at EUR 13 for general web hosting. Servebolt sits higher, from €99 a month, because its plans include 5 to 50 live sites.

Promotional pricing is the second trap. SiteGround quotes €2.99, €5.49 and €8.49 on a 12-month prepayment and then renews at €15.99, €27.99 and €39.99, so the regular price is the figure to budget with. Combell lists first-year prices of 7.48, 14.95 and 29.95 against 19.99, 38.99 and 64.99 afterwards, and Raidboxes shows 50% off for new customers until 30 December 2026. Always compute the second-year cost before you migrate.

Currency matters too. 20i prices in pounds, Krystal in pounds, Infomaniak in Swiss francs, and Servebolt's price slider can show NOK, USD or EUR, so a euro-based company carries exchange-rate movement on three of the ten.

Is a European WordPress host automatically GDPR-safe?

No. The contracting entity decides whose law governs the agreement, and the infrastructure decides who can reach the data, and they are separate questions. A host in the EU or EEA, such as Raidboxes, Seravo, Savvii, Combell, mittwald, SiteGround Spain S.L. and Servebolt, gives you a processor under European law. Krystal and 20i sit in the United Kingdom, and Infomaniak in Switzerland, both covered by European adequacy decisions and not by the EU itself.

Look next at sub-processors. Servebolt's privacy policy names Cloudflare Inc. as the party that decrypts and re-encrypts traffic on the CDN, Raidboxes lists Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL of Luxembourg under EU standard contractual clauses, and Krystal's data processing agreement allows processing outside the UK and EEA. None of this disqualifies a host, but it belongs in your records of processing.

Finally the location statements. Raidboxes names Düsseldorf, mittwald names its own German data centre, Infomaniak names Geneva and Winterthur, and Savvii names the Netherlands. Servebolt, Seravo and 20i did not name a default location on the pages we checked, so ask for it in writing before signing.

How do I migrate a site away from Kinsta or WP Engine?

A WordPress site is a database and a set of files, so any host can take it. The question is who does the work. Raidboxes offers a free demo migration and unlimited free WordPress migrations on all plans, Servebolt describes a specialist-led move with an audit, staging and no downtime, Combell offers its Butler transfer service, and Krystal includes free migrations for the first three sites.

Plan the cutover around DNS. Lower the TTL a day ahead, import into the new host, test on a staging URL and check forms, checkout and scheduled jobs, then switch the records in a quiet hour. Keep the old Kinsta plan alive for a week, since its terms say fees are non-refundable and a plan renews on its own unless you schedule termination in the dashboard.

Expect small differences. Cache plugins tied to the old host should be removed, redirect rules and CDN settings rebuilt, and backup schedules checked against the new retention period.

When should I not switch to a European host?

When the reason is only the logo on the invoice. Kinsta runs round-the-clock human support in eight languages, a plan ladder up to Enterprise with a 99.99% SLA tier, and a dashboard many agencies know well. Raidboxes chat ends at 22:00, Seravo staffs weekdays, and Savvii's site and legal documents are in Dutch, so a team that depends on midnight help should weigh that.

Also pause when your requirement is EU-only infrastructure and the candidate is SiteGround, 20i or Krystal. Each lists data centres in the United States next to European ones, and SiteGround, with eleven locations, only meets the requirement if you choose one of the five European sites yourself.

And pause when budget is the only driver and the site is small. At the entry level a European plan is usually cheaper, but a plan with a €2.99 promo price can renew at five times that. The switch pays when contract law, invoicing currency or one specific feature is the problem you are actually solving.

Which hosts suit WooCommerce or agency work?

For shops with traffic spikes, Servebolt lists WooCommerce and Drupal support, with no PHP worker limits and RAM shown as unlimited on all three self-serve plans. Seravo's WP Business plan adds WooCommerce with 1,500,000 requests, and Savvii hosts WooCommerce, Magento and Shopware alongside WordPress.

For agencies, the useful features are staging, reseller terms and per-site isolation. Raidboxes has reseller discounts and a partner programme, 20i lists staging, cloning and WP-CLI on every plan, mittwald addresses agencies and freelancers first, and Savvii names agencies as a stated focus with a partner scheme. Which of these fits depends on whether you bill clients per site or run a pooled portfolio.

How we selected and ranked these 10 tools

Every tool on this page is in the European Purpose directory, which means the operating company is established in Europe and we have verified that from the company register or the vendor's own legal notice rather than from a marketing page. Tools headquartered outside Europe are not eligible, however good they are.

  1. Feature verification (weight: 40%). We check each capability against the vendor's own documentation and product pages, and record what the tool does rather than what the category is assumed to include.
  2. Ease of adoption (weight: 30%). Integrations, published API access, trial availability and how much configuration stands between signing and a usable result.
  3. Value and transparency (weight: 30%). Published pricing counts in a vendor's favour; quote-only pricing is recorded as quote-only rather than estimated. We weigh what a buyer gets for the entry price, not the headline feature count.
  4. Editorial review. Every page is researched and drafted with AI assistance, and the compliance and pricing claims are checked against the vendor's documentation before it is published under the founder's editorial responsibility. The three weights above decide the order; a position is a ranking against the other European tools in this category, not an absolute score.

Vendor-reported outcomes — ROI figures, margin uplift, time saved — are labelled as vendor claims wherever they appear on this page. We have not audited them, and neither has anyone else who quotes them. Read our full editorial process for how pages are re-verified.

Frequently asked questions

By the criterion of closeness to a WordPress-only managed host with staging and backups on every plan, Raidboxes (Germany) ranks first on this page. For busy WooCommerce traffic, Servebolt (Norway) fits better, for a security guarantee Seravo (Finland), and for a choice of data centre locations SiteGround. mittwald (Germany) suits agencies that want an owner-led operator with its own data centre. The answer shifts with your site, so compare plan limits first.

Yes, ten are listed here. Raidboxes and Krystal are closest in model, since both sell managed WordPress with staging and backups. Servebolt, Seravo, mittwald, Infomaniak, 20i, Savvii, Combell and SiteGround cover other angles such as request-based pricing, security guarantees and data centre choice. Kinsta Inc. contracts under Delaware law, while these vendors contract under German, Norwegian, Finnish, British, Swiss, Dutch, Belgian or Spanish law.

Raidboxes names an Equinix data center in Düsseldorf, mittwald states its own data centre in Germany, Infomaniak names Geneva and Winterthur, Savvii states the Netherlands, and Combell lists Belgium. SiteGround lists eleven locations and lets you pick, Krystal and 20i list sites in several countries without tying a plan to one, and Servebolt and Seravo did not name a location on the pages we checked.

Several do. Raidboxes gives up to 14 days without payment details, Infomaniak a 30-day free trial, Servebolt three days, Krystal a 60-day money-back guarantee excluding domains, and SiteGround a 30-day money-back period. 20i charges £1 for the first month and has no contract. Seravo states that paid fees are non-refundable, so read the terms of each vendor before you pay.

At the entry level often yes. Kinsta lists $35 a month for one site, while Raidboxes lists €18, 20i £10, Seravo €25 and mittwald EUR 13 for general web hosting. Servebolt, from €99 a month, costs more because it bundles 5 live sites and unlimited RAM. Promotional prices, such as SiteGround's €2.99 or Combell's 7.48 in the first year, rise on renewal, so compare the regular rate.
