Best for: Frequent travellers who prefer a balance over fixed packs
Surfroam turns the travel eSIM into a prepaid account. You pick a tier by trip type (ULTRA for the lowest rates on one trip, PLUS for a lifetime balance with an annual top-up, GLOBAL for 220+ countries), add credit from €5, €15 or €25, and the SIM or eSIM draws per kilobyte at the rate of the country you are in. Its calculator assumes one day equals 300 MB, which you can change.
Telecomer OÜ in Tallinn is named in the legal notice with an Estonian registry code and a mobile operator licence number, and the vendor says it has operated since 2016. Several SIMs and eSIMs can share one balance, and plans can be switched free, according to the site. The pages reviewed did not state where data is stored, and the cost of a trip is harder to predict than with a fixed pack.
What Surfroam does well
- Balance does not expire on the SIM or eSIM
- Per-KB billing means no unused packs
- Estonian operator named in the legal notice
- One account for several SIMs and eSIMs
- Free plan switching
Where Surfroam falls short
- Cost per trip is harder to predict
- Minimum initial credit of EUR 5 to EUR 50
- No voice-number product described on the page reviewed
- Data location not stated
Standout feature. Surfroam is the one provider on this list that bills per kilobyte against a balance with no expiry.

TravelSim sells roaming SIMs and eSIMs with a focus on bundles that include voice. The page reviewed showed bundles from USD 7 to USD 17 for the UAE.
Top Connect OÜ in Tallinn is named in the terms as provider of the site, and the company says its roaming service dates from 2006. According to the vendor, unused services are refunded within 14 days of purchase, with the exact conditions on a separate refund page. Prices appeared in US dollars although the seller is Estonian, so check the checkout currency and your card's conversion charge.

Best for: Travellers who want a named local network and a retail fallback
Sim Local sells eSIM packs for 200+ destinations on named local networks, with the homepage showing plans from USD 4.00 for 1 GB. The company says it opened its first shop at Dublin Airport in 2011 and later added London Heathrow and other airports, which makes it the only seller here with stores and vending units as a fallback when an eSIM will not install.
The website footer names Sim Local (Ireland) Ltd, the store terms say the retail store is operated by Sim Local (UK) Ltd, and the terms are governed by Irish law. Calls and texts are offered in some countries, and student plans exist. Refunds cover activation failures from network-side problems with proof of purchase, not setup mistakes, and plans are fixed packs per destination.
What Sim Local does well
- Irish company with a long retail history
- Plans on local networks
- Calls and texts in some countries
- Physical stores and vending units
- App and online store
Where Sim Local falls short
- Fixed GB packs per destination

Best for: Travellers choosing by daily rate, and teams managing eSIMs centrally
Ye-sim lists a daily rate for each country on its homepage, from €1.40 for Thailand and Cyprus to €1.90 for Germany, France and the UK, and per-GB prices where daily plans are not offered. Pay & Fly is a credit product from €0.92 per GB, and the site says unused balance can be kept for the next trip. Virtual phone numbers sit in the same app.
The terms of service name Genesis Group AG, Swiss registration number CHE-135.623.633, in Baar as the contracting party, and the site claims more than 4 million users. A corporate eSIM management platform and a reseller API serve business buyers. Switzerland is outside the EU, and the terms let prepaid items lapse without a refund after account termination or 180 days of inactivity.

- Pay & Fly credit for unused balance
- Virtual numbers and business tools
- Many interface languages
Where Ye-sim falls short
- Some destinations priced at high per-GB rates

Best for: Short trips where you do not want to count gigabytes
Holafly sells time instead of gigabytes: you choose the number of days for a destination and get unlimited data under the network's fair-use policy, which the terms say lets the network restrict speed or volume if usage is judged excessive. Monthly Light (25 GB), Unlimited and Ultra subscriptions start from USD 49.90 for global use and renew until cancelled.
The terms of use are a contract with Holafly Limited, a private limited company registered in Ireland under number 745325, with its office on Grand Canal Square in Dublin. Plans include a monthly Always On backup allowance, 24/7 chat support and, on Unlimited, a local number for inbound SMS. Ultra adds wellbeing sessions and flight and luggage assistance under separate terms.

Best for: Travellers who want plans from a mobile operator rather than a reseller
Ubigi is the consumer eSIM brand of Transatel, a mobile operator, which makes it the one seller on this list that supplies data from its own operator business and not only as a reseller. The terms say services are provided by Transatel S.A.S. or one of its affiliates, that Ubigi is a Transatel trademark, and that French law and the courts of Paris apply.
The site describes the brand as part of NTT and also serves connected cars and business customers, so the consumer store is one part of the offer. Installation guides cover iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows 11 by QR code or app. Consumer prices were not visible in the page text reviewed, and the terms state that a purchased data plan cannot be refunded.
What Ubigi does well
- Operator-run service under French law
- App and QR installation

- Business and car offers on the same brand

Best for: Travellers who want an Orange Group brand in the chain
Orange Travel is an online store that resells eSIMs and SIM cards of local carriers for over 100 destinations, according to the vendor. The terms say it acts only as a reseller, so disputes about minutes, data or validity are settled with the carrier. The store supports top-up of eSIM and SIM cards from carriers with agreements and offers a compatibility checker for models such as iPhone, Pixel, Fairphone and Motorola.
The website is published by Orange Travelers, a company with RCS Nanterre number 833 468 556 and an address in Issy-les-Moulineaux, with Paris courts having jurisdiction and the page footer showing Orange copyright. The interface comes in 15 languages with euros as the default. Top-ups have no monetary value and are not refundable, and carrier lists and allowances can change without notice.

Best for: Companies adding eSIMs to their own app or booking flow
eSIM Go is a UK supplier that sells travel data and UK mobile plans to businesses that resell them under their own brand. The master services agreement states that eSIM Go Limited is incorporated in England and Wales under number 12465777, with its registered office in Banbury, Oxfordshire. The legal section lists terms, a technical service agreement, an acceptable use policy, privacy and cookies. Best for: Enterprises embedding eSIM offers into their own apps
1GLOBAL supplies eSIM and mobile services by API to banks, retailers and operators, and its news page names partners such as Revolut, N26, freenet, Lidl and KPN. Travellers therefore usually meet its eSIMs under another brand rather than its own, and the pages reviewed show no consumer store or public price list. The company also lists compliance, IoT and operator products.
The imprint names 1GLOBAL Holdings B.V., with a registered address on Beethovenstraat in Amsterdam and KVK number 97406015, and the company says it opened a new global headquarters in Amsterdam. For a buyer building eSIM into an app, that gives a Dutch contracting entity. For a person who wants a plan this week, Ubigi, Holafly or Ye-sim are direct options.
What 1GLOBAL does well
- Dutch company with KVK number in its imprint
- API-based integration
- Partner brands across several countries
- Mobile operator and compliance products
- Amsterdam HQ
Where 1GLOBAL falls short
- No direct consumer store reviewed
- No public pricing
