Detailed Review
MIXO Ltd has registered number 11009243 and a registered office at Unit 13, Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole BH16 6FH. The terms are governed by English law, with the courts of England and Wales as jurisdiction.
MIXO describes itself as the cloud DJ library. It imports your collection from DJ software, lets you edit it, and exports it back to other apps or to a USB stick.
Converting between DJ apps
The homepage lists Rekordbox, Traktor, Ultramixer, Virtual DJ, Cross DJ, DEX 3, Digital DJ 2, Engine DJ, Mixxx, iTunes, Serato and Djay Pro. MIXO converts playlists, cue points, beatgrids, artwork, ratings and metadata between them.
This helps a Serato user try a European player while keeping the old collection intact.
Free desktop and paid Gold
MIXO:DESKTOP is free and covers import, metadata and cue editing, key and BPM analysis, playlists and a related track finder on Mac, Windows and Linux.
MIXO:GOLD costs $7 per month and adds sync across devices, export to nearly all DJ apps, USB export, a mobile app, a playlist matcher for Spotify, Tidal and Apple, and a duplicate finder. A 7-day Gold trial starts automatically.
Cloud storage choices
MIXO connects to Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive, so your files stay in a store you choose. These providers are not European, which matters if jurisdiction was your reason to leave Serato.
Limitations to Consider
MIXO is a library tool, not a player, so you still need a DJ app for playing. Gold is priced in US dollars. Hosting location of the MIXO service itself is not stated on the pages we read. The cloud storage options named are Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive. See Lexicon DJ for another conversion tool.
Who Should Use MIXO
