Our review
KDE Itinerary is a digital travel assistant developed by the KDE community. KDE e.V., the registered non-profit that represents the community in legal and financial matters, lists its postal address as Prinzenstrasse 85 F, 10969 Berlin, Germany.
KDE Itinerary does the same core job as TripIt, collecting reservations in one place. The difference is that the extraction from booking documents happens on your own device, not on a vendor server.
How does KDE Itinerary collect reservations?
KDE Itinerary automatically extracts booking data from several input formats. The app page states this is performed locally and your data is not sent to remote servers.
It works best when KMail extracts tickets from email and KDE Connect transfers them to the phone. Nextcloud Mail and DavDroid can also sync tickets.
What does KDE Itinerary show during a trip?
KDE Itinerary supports train, bus and flight bookings, plus hotel, restaurant, event and rental car reservations. It stores QR codes, check-in times, seat reservations and coach layout.
It reports delays in real time, uses onboard APIs on supported trains and long-distance buses, and shows indoor maps of stations and airports based on OpenStreetMap.
How is KDE Itinerary licensed and maintained?
KDE Itinerary is licensed LGPL-2.0-or-later. The releases list on the page shows version 26.08.2 dated 2026-10-08 with new extractors for several operators.
KDE Itinerary is available for Plasma Mobile and Android, and can be installed on Linux through Flathub. The page does not list iOS.
Points against
KDE Itinerary has no iOS app on the page we read, and no shared online itinerary or day-by-day sightseeing planner. Setup is more technical than TripIt, since the best email flow uses KMail with KDE Connect, or Nextcloud Mail. Booking extractors cover named operators only.
Best suited to users of KDE Itinerary
Choose KDE Itinerary if you want TripIt's booking timeline without a vendor account. For sightseeing plans, add Tripomatic or TravelMap.
