Our review
Zoundio calls itself a music tech team in Stockholm. The terms of use name Zoundio AB as the contracting party at Artillerigatan 6, 114 51 Stockholm, while the privacy policy names Zoundio AB / Zoundio Oy as controller at Götgatan 34, 118 32 Stockholm.
Gibson App is the relevant product; Zoundio quotes more than one million downloads and 1000+ hand-crafted lessons, both its own numbers.
Microphone on during lessons
Real-time feedback requires the app to switch on the microphone. The privacy policy restricts audio to that use and lists lesson progress and skill level among stored data.
Rechords and xRoads, other Zoundio products, were not read.
Swedish law and two privacy regimes
Swedish law governs the terms. The privacy policy, effective 1 January 2024, cites both the GDPR and the California CCPA.
The Gibson name and cost
The pages we read show no subscription amount. They also leave the Gibson brand arrangement unexplained, so we say nothing about who holds the brand rights.
Known limits
The privacy policy names both AB and Oy, and its address differs from the one in the terms. Amounts, hosting and platforms were not read, and only guitar is taught. For several instruments, see Yousician.
