Full review
Gelato is a print on demand supplier operated by Gelato ASA, a Norwegian company with its principal place of business at Dronning Eufemias Gate 8 in Oslo. The terms of service name Gelato ASA as the contracting party, and the privacy policy was last updated on 22 October 2026.
Gelato describes its model as local production. Its home page states that 90% of all orders are produced locally and that it works with more than 250 print providers across 32 countries. A seller uploads a design, connects a store, and Gelato sends every order to the production partner nearest to the customer.
How does Gelato charge sellers?
Gelato states that sign-up is free and that it does not charge commission. The seller pays for the product and shipping of each order once the customer has paid the retail price.
The pricing page lists no minimum orders, a multi-currency wallet with auto top-up, and payment in USD, EUR, GBP, JPY and more. A paid subscription called Gelato+ unlocks product discounts, with up to 33% off in a holiday offer, but its monthly price is not shown on the pages we read.
Which stores and products does Gelato support?
The legal page lists integrations with TikTok, Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace and BigCommerce, plus an API. Product categories named on the page include posters, canvas, calendars, cards, T-shirts, hoodies, mugs and phone cases.
Gelato also sells GelatoConnect, a separate system for print producers, which shows that the company runs both the seller side and the production side of its network.
Where is Gelato weaker than Printful?
Printful says on its pricing page that every order gets in-house production and a three-step quality check. Gelato fulfils through partner print providers, so quality control depends on the network rather than one factory.
Gelato's legal page also names Gelato USA LLC in Atlanta as the agent for copyright notices, so a US affiliate exists next to the Norwegian parent.
Known limits
Gelato fulfils through third-party print providers, not one in-house factory, so results depend on the partner chosen for each order. A US affiliate (Gelato USA LLC) is named for copyright notices. Data hosting location and the Gelato+ price are not stated on the pages we read. Amounts are exclusive of VAT under the terms.
