Cyso Cloud

Cyso Cloud is a 100% Dutch cloud platform that positions itself as "your European cloud for full control and compliance." It is part of Cyso Group, an independent Dutch hosting and infrastructure company with roots dating back to 1997. The cloud platform originally launched as Fuga Cloud in 2016 and was fully integrated and rebranded as Cyso Cloud in 2025.

Built on OpenStack, it offers a full stack of infrastructure services while keeping every byte of customer data within European borders, making it a genuine sovereign alternative to hyperscalers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as other European providers such as Scaleway and OVH.

European Data Sovereignty

Cyso Cloud's core promise is complete European data sovereignty. As a 100% Dutch and independently owned company, it is not subject to US jurisdiction or laws like the CLOUD Act. All infrastructure runs from data centers in Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Frankfurt (Germany), ensuring your data never leaves the EU.

The platform is GDPR compliant by design and holds ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 certifications, the latter being the Dutch standard for information security in healthcare, making it a strong fit for organizations with strict compliance requirements.

S3-Compatible Object Storage

Cyso Cloud Object Storage is S3-compatible, which means migrating from AWS S3 or running a multi-cloud strategy is straightforward. Existing S3 tools, SDKs, and applications work with little or no modification. The storage is GDPR-compliant and protected by EU law, giving teams a secure, sovereign home for backups, media, application assets, and unstructured data.

Load Balancers and Cloud Compute

Enterprise-grade cloud load balancers let you distribute traffic across your infrastructure for high availability and resilience. Combined with Cyso's cloud compute instances, teams can build scalable, fault-tolerant architectures entirely on European infrastructure. Because the platform is built on OpenStack, it uses open standards and open APIs, reducing the risk of vendor lock-in that is common with proprietary hyperscaler ecosystems.

Considerations

As a focused Dutch provider, Cyso Cloud operates fewer regions than the global hyperscalers, though its Amsterdam and Frankfurt footprint covers Western and Central Europe well, with further expansion planned. Some newer services such as Cloud Databases and IAM are still in beta. For the vast majority of European workloads, however, the available services are more than sufficient, and the combination of Dutch ownership, open standards, and strong certifications makes Cyso Cloud a compelling sovereign choice.
