Detailed Review
Alight Motion is an app for phones and tablets that the vendor calls a professional motion design app. Its privacy policy states that Bending Spoons S.p.A., Via Nino Bonnet 10, Milan, Italy, is the data controller and the parent of Splice Video Editor S.r.l.
The Alight Motion homepage still carries a copyright line for Alight Creative, Inc from 2019 to 2021, while the current privacy policy names the Italian company.
What can Alight Motion animate?
The app supports multiple layers of graphics, video and audio, plus a library of vector shapes and custom vector and freehand illustrations. Vector and bitmap editing is available inside the app.
The vendor lists more than 100 customizable building-block effects and keyframe animation for all settings.
How does Alight Motion compare in price and platform?
The pages we read show no price. The app is for smartphones and tablets, with no desktop version mentioned.
The privacy policy is written under the GDPR and Italian data protection law.
Alight Motion as a European alternative to Adobe After Effects
Alight Motion offers layers, keyframes and effects on mobile, which covers social video and quick motion work. Adobe After Effects remains the stronger tool for long form compositing, scripting and plugins.
Limitations to Consider
Alight Motion runs on phones and tablets, so desktop pipelines, scripting and large plugin libraries are out of reach, and pricing and hosting are not stated on the pages we read. The homepage ownership line is out of date compared with the privacy policy. For desktop work, start with Autograph or Blender.
Who Should Use Alight Motion
Social video creators who want keyframed motion design on a phone or tablet.
