European PLM Software

PLM software holds the bills of materials, drawings, revisions and change orders that a manufacturer or brand builds its products from. That is core intellectual property, so it matters who operates the system and under which jurisdiction. The European vendors below cover engineering PLM for machinery and electronics as well as fashion and consumer-goods product development, and all of them contract from an EU, UK or Nordic entity.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect the order tools appear in. It never buys a listing: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects whether a tool is listed. Editorial policy

European product lifecycle management (PLM) software is the system of record for a physical product's items, bills of materials, CAD files, change orders and supplier data, and a European vendor matters because the drawings, cost structures and supplier lists it holds then sit under an EU contract and EU law instead of a US one.

Paris, France Founded 2019 Quote-based: fixed-price deployment plus annual per-user licences by role Demo on request

Best for: Manufacturers in aerospace, medical, electronics and energy replacing shared drives and spreadsheets

  • Operating company. Aletiq SAS
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated by region; data is replicated six times across servers in different geographical regions
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Arena PLM, PTC Windchill, Autodesk Fusion Manage

Aletiq is a Paris-based PLM, PDM and document control platform that handles CAD files, BOMs, configurations and change workflows in one cloud system. Engineering change requests and orders run through approval steps with e-signatures, and a project layer tracks new product introduction with milestones and a critical path view. The vendor says deployment takes about two months per site, with two hours of training per user.

Aletiq SAS is registered in Paris (RCS 878 022 961) and was founded in 2019, with the platform launched in 2021 after two years of co-development with manufacturers. The vendor reports more than 20 customers, so the track record is shorter than that of CONTACT or Dassault. Its pages claim ISO 27001 certification and do not name a hosting region, only that data is replicated six times across servers in different geographical regions.

What Aletiq does well

  • Deployment is priced up front and carries no overrun charge
  • Engineering change requests and orders, plus project tracking for new products
  • Plugins for seven CAD systems, from the CAD licence type upward
  • Storage, support and AI come with the licence
  • ISO 27001 certification stated on its pages

Where Aletiq falls short

  • Prices come only after a 30-minute call
  • The vendor cites about 20 customers
  • No hosting region stated on the site
  • Lighter licence types do not include the CAD plugins

Standout feature. Aletiq is the only vendor here that fixes the deployment price in advance and promises no extra charge if the project overruns.

#2 Delogue

Copenhagen, Denmark Essential from €145, Professional from €199, Premium from €249 per user per month depending on billing period; supplier module €6,000 per year Demo on request

Best for: Fashion, outdoor, workwear and home textile brands managing seasonal collections with external suppliers

Delogue is a Danish PLM for companies that design and source physical collections: apparel, footwear, accessories, home textiles and kidswear. A style record keeps its tech pack, BOM, size chart with grading, costing and sample history together, and every plan includes unlimited supplier logins. The vendor claims more than 300 brands in 74 countries and shows Hummel, Wheat, ARKK and Dogman on its homepage.

Delogue.com ApS is registered in Copenhagen under CVR 34074445, and its terms of service are governed by Danish law. Hosting is in Ireland with primary data operations in the EEA, although some processors may sit in the United States under standard contractual clauses. Prices are listed without VAT, brands above 40 users are sent to an Enterprise conversation, and there is no CAD vault or engineering change order process.

What Delogue does well

  • Per-user prices are on the website
  • Suppliers log in free on every plan
  • Ireland (EEA) hosting per its privacy policy

#4 Sovelia Core

Sweden, Sweden Not published; demo and trial download offered Demo on request

Best for: Engineering-to-order and project-based manufacturers in Northern Europe with Inventor, SOLIDWORKS or Creo

  • Operating company. Symetri AB (Sovelia is a Symetri solution, part of Addnode Group)
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Sweden)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages read
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. PTC Windchill, Arena PLM

Sovelia Core is a PLM product for item and BOM management, engineering change requests and engineering change management, delivered as ready-made templates drawn from decades of PDM and PLM projects. A built-in administration interface lets customers adjust configuration and system parameters without programming. CAD add-ins push models into the repository from Inventor, SOLIDWORKS and Creo, and an integration template exchanges product data with ERP.

The product began roughly 30 years ago with a small team in Finland and is developed by the Symetri Technology Unit, part of the listed Addnode Group. Named customers on the site include NewIcon, Hermann's, ScandiNova Systems and Sisu Auto. The vendor says development follows ISO 27001 certification and NIS2 alignment, and prices, hosting and the exact contracting entity are not stated on the pages read.

What Sovelia Core does well

  • Ready-made item, BOM and change templates from earlier projects
  • CAD add-ins for Inventor, SOLIDWORKS and Creo

#7 Eurostep ShareAspace

Bromma, Stockholm, Sweden Founded 1994 Not published Demo on request

Best for: Defence, automotive and plant programmes that exchange controlled product data with many suppliers

  • Operating company. Eurostep AB (part of BAE Systems Digital Intelligence)
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Sweden)
  • Where the data sits. Customer-defined; not stated on the pages read
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. PTC Windchill for multi-company exchange, Arena PLM at scale

Eurostep ShareAspace is a through-life product data platform that sits between the PLM, ERP and engineering systems a programme already runs. It keeps changes, submissions and product data traceable across partners, with access and IP controls at object level and RFX workflows for supplier requests. Release 1.9.1 extended in-service structures, approvals and applicability, in line with the S3000L and S2000M logistics standards.

Eurostep was founded in Sweden in 1994, has offices in Bromma and Gothenburg, and says it has been part of BAE Systems Digital Intelligence since 2023. Eurostep Limited is registered in England and Wales (company number 03049099). Case pages name Saab Kockums, Damen Naval, the French Army's SIMMT, the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency and Egis. The web interface conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and pricing is not published.

What Eurostep ShareAspace does well

  • Designed to share product data between companies
  • Supports S3000L and S2000M logistics standards

Where Eurostep ShareAspace falls short

  • Complements a design vault, does not replace one
  • No published price or hosting model
  • Weighted towards defence programmes
  • British defence group has owned it since 2023

Standout feature. Eurostep ShareAspace applies export-control and IP access rules to individual objects shared across a supplier chain.

#9 Odoo

Ramillies, Belgium Founded 2005 One free app / paid plans per user per month Demo on request

Best for: Small and mid-sized manufacturers already running Odoo for stock and manufacturing that want BoM versions and engineering changes in the same suite

  • Operating company. Odoo S.A.
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Belgium)
  • Where the data sits. EU hosting (Odoo Online) or your own servers
  • Source code. Open source
  • Replaces. NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage

Odoo is an open-source business suite whose PLM app adds engineering change orders, BoM versions and a diff and merge view to the manufacturing app. Because accounting, inventory, manufacturing, CRM and e-commerce share one data model, a revised BoM reaches stock and production without a connector. The vendor offers one free app, then per-user monthly plans, and a 15-day trial.

Odoo S.A. is based in Ramillies, Belgium, and was founded in 2005. The core is published under LGPLv3, so you can run it on your own servers or use EU hosting through Odoo Online. A PLM app inside an ERP is shallower than a dedicated vault, and the gap between the community edition and paid Enterprise features catches buyers out. Implementation beyond the standard flows is a project, usually through a partner.

What Odoo does well

  • LGPLv3 core that can run on your own servers
  • Accounting, stock, manufacturing, CRM and shop share one data model
  • Belgian company with EU hosting available
  • One app free, then per-user monthly pricing
  • Large partner and module ecosystem

Where Odoo falls short

  • Customising past the standard flows is a project, not a signup
  • Community edition and Enterprise features differ, which surprises buyers
  • Module quality varies across the ecosystem

Standout feature. Odoo is the only tool here where the PLM software can stay on your own hardware after the contract with the vendor ends.

#10 Dassault Systemes ENOVIA

Vélizy-Villacoublay, France Not published Demo on request

Best for: Large manufacturers that already run CATIA or SOLIDWORKS and need a global PLM backbone

  • Operating company. Dassault Systèmes SE
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. Depends on contract; regional affiliates exist
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. PTC Windchill, Arena PLM at enterprise scale

Dassault Systemes ENOVIA is the PLM line on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, which the vendor says has over 35 years of history. The site names four topic areas: collaborative product development, engineering data management, product and portfolio planning, and quality and compliance. Sustainability assessment from concept to retirement and AI-driven workflows are promoted alongside them.

The parent is Dassault Systèmes SE at 10 rue Marcel Dassault in Vélizy-Villacoublay. Its privacy policy lists regional affiliates, and for GDPR countries, Switzerland and the UK the contact is Dassault Systèmes S.E. in France, but an order placed with a US or Asian affiliate would be signed with that local company. Prices are not published, a demo and a user community are offered, and a partner-led rollout is usual.

What Dassault Systemes ENOVIA does well

  • Over 35 years of PLM history, as stated by the vendor
  • CAD, simulation and manufacturing on one platform
  • Sustainability assessment built in
  • French parent is the contact for GDPR-region customers
  • Demo and user community available

Where Dassault Systemes ENOVIA falls short

  • Prices are not published
  • Implementation is heavy
  • The signing entity depends on region
  • The platform ties many Dassault products together

Standout feature. Dassault Systemes ENOVIA is the only entry here that sits on a platform spanning CAD, simulation and manufacturing from the same vendor.

How do I choose between the European PLM tools when the sectors differ so much?

Start with what you make, because the ten tools split into three groups. Aletiq, CONTACT Elements, Sovelia Core, Visiativ PLM and ENOVIA manage engineering data: CAD files, multi-level BOMs and engineering change orders. Delogue, SilkPLM and Lectra Kubix Link manage collections: tech packs, samples, seasons and supplier quotes. Eurostep ShareAspace and Odoo sit at the edges, one as an exchange layer above existing systems and the other as a PLM app inside an ERP.

Within the engineering group the tie-breakers are CAD stack and ERP. Sovelia Core has add-ins for Inventor, SOLIDWORKS and Creo and lists Monitor, M3 and Dynamics among its ERP integrations. Visiativ PLM connects SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, Creo and Inventor plus electrical tools. Aletiq lists plugins for seven CAD systems, although they come with the CAD licence type and above.

Which of these PLM tools publish a price?

Only a minority do. Delogue lists Essential from €145, Professional from €199 and Premium from €249 per user per month depending on billing period, with a supplier module at €6,000 per year. SilkPLM has a free plan and charges $19.99 or $29.99 per user per month, quoted in US dollars on a page dated February 2025. Odoo offers one free app and then per-user monthly plans.

Aletiq, CONTACT Elements, Sovelia Core, Visiativ PLM, Eurostep ShareAspace, Lectra Kubix Link and ENOVIA quote on request. Aletiq at least describes its structure: a fixed price for deployment, with no charge if the project overruns, plus annual licences per user by role. Visiativ PLM describes one annual subscription for all contributors. For the rest, budget for a sales call and an implementation project.

Where is my data stored, and which entity do I sign with?

Few vendors on this list state a hosting region. Delogue says Ireland (EEA) per its privacy policy, and Odoo offers EU hosting or your own servers. CONTACT can be installed on-premise, and Eurostep sells a ShareAspace Server product, so those two let you pick the location. Aletiq says data is replicated six times across servers in different geographical regions, without naming them.

SilkPLM's privacy policy lists Ireland, the United States, Canada, Poland and France, and its terms of service name Irish law although the company sits in Krakow.

For Sovelia Core the pages name Symetri AB as responsible for personal data, but do not say whether the licence contract is with it or a national subsidiary. For ENOVIA, Dassault Systèmes S.E. in France is the contact for GDPR countries, but a US or Asian affiliate would be the counterparty on an order placed there. Ask for the signing entity and data location in writing.

How do I migrate from Arena PLM or PTC Windchill to a European tool?

Arena and Windchill both belong to PTC, a US group, which is the usual reason for the move. The vendors on this page position themselves against both: Aletiq, Sovelia Core, Visiativ PLM and CONTACT Elements all list Windchill or Arena as products they replace. Delogue and SilkPLM mention Arena only for apparel and consumer use, and Lectra Kubix Link lists Centric PLM and PTC FlexPLM.

Plan the move around three items: the history of released revisions and change orders, the connectors to CAD and ERP, and the external users such as suppliers. Aletiq states about two months of deployment per site and two hours of training per user. No vendor promises a fixed time for importing legacy data, so run a pilot import of one product family before signing.

When should I not switch to a European PLM tool?

Do not switch if your process depends on features a European tool does not list. Arena bundles a quality management system and a component supply chain feed, and none of the vendors here describes the same bundle on the pages read. If you are an electronics company whose audits run through that quality module, the jurisdiction argument has to outweigh a second tool and a new validation exercise.

Also hold off if the cost of a PLM project exceeds the problem. A team of five working from shared drives may be better served by SilkPLM's free plan or Odoo's free app than by a partner-led rollout of CONTACT Elements or ENOVIA. And if the actual problem is supplier data exchange, Eurostep ShareAspace complements your existing PLM rather than replacing it.

How do these tools connect to ERP and CAD systems?

Sovelia Core publishes the longest ERP list: Monitor, M3, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dynamics AX and NAV, Infor, SAP and BaaN are named. Visiativ PLM shares its manufacturing and purchasing BOMs with the ERP, and Lectra Kubix Link names ERP, CMS and WMS integrations plus Excel, InDesign and Adobe Illustrator. CONTACT Elements connects third-party systems into a digital thread rather than replacing them.

On the CAD side, vault-style tools carry plugins and add-ins, while fashion tools work through Illustrator links, as Delogue does with its Professional plan. Odoo is the exception: its PLM app shares one data model with stock, manufacturing and accounting, so there is nothing to integrate inside the suite, though CAD links go through partners.

How we selected and ranked these 10 tools

Every tool on this page is in the European Purpose directory, which means the operating company is established in Europe and we have verified that from the company register or the vendor's own legal notice rather than from a marketing page. Tools headquartered outside Europe are not eligible, however good they are.

  1. Feature verification (weight: 40%). We check each capability against the vendor's own documentation and product pages, and record what the tool does rather than what the category is assumed to include.
  2. Ease of adoption (weight: 30%). Integrations, published API access, trial availability and how much configuration stands between signing and a usable result.
  3. Value and transparency (weight: 30%). Published pricing counts in a vendor's favour; quote-only pricing is recorded as quote-only rather than estimated. We weigh what a buyer gets for the entry price, not the headline feature count.
  4. Editorial review. Every page is researched and drafted with AI assistance, and the compliance and pricing claims are checked against the vendor's documentation before it is published under the founder's editorial responsibility. The three weights above decide the order; a position is a ranking against the other European tools in this category, not an absolute score.

Vendor-reported outcomes — ROI figures, margin uplift, time saved — are labelled as vendor claims wherever they appear on this page. We have not audited them, and neither has anyone else who quotes them. Read our full editorial process for how pages are re-verified.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on what you make. For engineering manufacturers, Aletiq (France), CONTACT Elements (Germany), Sovelia Core (Sweden) and Visiativ PLM (France) are the main options, while Delogue (Denmark), SilkPLM (Poland) and Lectra Kubix Link (France) fit fashion and consumer collections. Eurostep ShareAspace suits supplier-heavy programmes, Odoo suits those who want PLM inside an ERP, and ENOVIA suits large Dassault CAD users.

SilkPLM has a free plan for one user with 500 projects and 1 GB of media storage, and Odoo offers a free plan for a single app, with a 15-day trial. CONTACT Elements advertises a free trial. Both free plans suit small teams in consumer products or small manufacturers, not engineering teams with large CAD vaults.

CONTACT Elements is offered on-premise and through CONTACT Cloud, and customers can switch in either direction. Eurostep ShareAspace has a Server product, and the Odoo core is published under LGPLv3, so you can host it on your own servers. Aletiq, Delogue and SilkPLM are cloud services; the others do not state a deployment option.

Yes, three. Delogue in Copenhagen has published per-user prices and hosts in Ireland. SilkPLM in Krakow combines PLM and PIM with purchasing and logistics, and has a free plan. Lectra Kubix Link from Paris is tied into Lectra pattern and cutting software, with customers such as IKKS, Zumba and Pinko named on the vendor page.

Mostly, with exceptions to check. CONTACT Software was founded in 1990 and is independent according to its own pages. Sovelia Core belongs to Symetri and the Addnode Group, and Eurostep belongs to BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, a British group, since 2023. Aletiq lists a New York address in its footer, though its contracting entity is Aletiq SAS in Paris.

Published prices range from free (SilkPLM, Odoo) through $19.99 to $29.99 per user per month (SilkPLM paid plans) to €145 to €249 per user per month at Delogue. Engineering tools such as Aletiq, CONTACT Elements and ENOVIA quote on request, so expect a deployment fee in addition to licences. Aletiq at least fixes the deployment price in advance.
